Anime Request

I'm bored of watching Pokemon and so I'd really like to find a different anime to watch. I'm looking for a High School/Romance/Drama type thing, with parts sad enough to make you cry. I'd prefer if it was dubbed, but it's not 100% necessery.

Thanks in advance! =D

Pokémon is on once a week, how can't you watch something else for the remainder of the week.

You should check out:
- Ultra Maniac
- The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi
- Ouran High School Club
- Prince of Tennis

Most, if not all of them, are dubbed on DVD IIRC. But these aren't sad to me.

Fruits Basket is my favorite High School anime/manga. It definitely has romance and it's very cute. Now that I think of it, it's kind of like Twilight. In a way. Kind of.

Honey and Clover definitely falls within those categories...though I'm not sure if it's been dubbed or not.

Pokemon isn't on in Australia at the moment, I've been watching it on Anime4f and it's gotten rather boring. Not that I'm going to stop watching it... =D

For school life+drama anime, there's the Key series (Kanon, Clannad/AS and AIR).
If you're looking for comedy, you can try Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei or possibly Toradora!
Or if you like the otaku subculture, Genshiken and Lucky Star would do nicely.

I don't think any of them are airing in Australia though ):

Try Kare Kano - it is one of the best! Romance, comedy & school life.

Edit: Also try Azumanga Daioh!

"Today in Class 5-2" (Kyou no Go no Ni) hands down. Short (4 episodes), subtle underlying romance and unbelievably funny. Should also note that it's set in junior high school, so the characters aren't as mature.

That anime was too much for me. D:

Anyways, I recommend Toradora. It's a high-school/drama/romance thing.

definitely a must-watch anime.

What.
It's high school alright, but not romance or drama (unless you consider Kaori's infatuation with Sakaki, but nothing happens); nor does it have sad parts (at least the manga doesn't, but even if the anime does it's not really worth taking seriously given its comedic nature on the whole).

I'd recommend the following:
*Ouran High School Host Club
*Azumanga Daioh
*Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight

+ if you like a bit of the supernatural added to the whole school/drama/romance thing try:
*D.N. Angel
*Vampire Knight
*Karin

If you can handle it, try School Days.....If you didnt have a character that you wanted to rip their balls off, this one has it. And the ending is crazy

I really enjoyed Shuffle as it had a happy ending and a good storyline, not to mention countless comedy scenes that made me laugh. Another one is Clannad, but It's more psychological and half the time you want to rip the girls' head off as she doesn't act like a real girl just a mindless love robot.
