What do you like about your country?
Pretty unusual question, but if so, what do you like about your country? For example, as I live in Australia, I like the fact that it's democracy, I hate communism, so cruel... Anyhow enough about that...
EDIT - Again, I forgot about putting in Other Chat, *sigh* can someone move it please. |
I love how you can speak freely in Australia, and you can also speak your mind without being in trouble with the law (within reason).
Also, it's easy to get along with people here, too. |
Well, I really can't compair my country to others because I have never been out of the United States. But what I like about it here is that we have so many diffrent kinds of people.

I like Australia's geographical location. It's so far from all other countries. :3

What I like the most about this country is its weather. England is widely known for its spells of rain and cloud, the overall dreariness we seem to get so frequently here almost always leaves me feeling serene. But that's pretty much it, I'm afraid I haven't all that much to like about where I live. |
Well GB seems like its going downhill, but I suppose I can't complain when I compare it to all those other very poor African, Asian and South American countries.
|
I too would have a hard time comparing other countries to Canada, for the same reason Infamous Amos has given. I am, however, thankful that I was fortunate enough to be born in a wealthy, stable country, where open minds and new ideas are widely accepted.
Apart from that, the cold weather is something that I'd never give up. I mean, a lot of people never even get the chance to see snow, which means they've probably never been skiing, tobogganing, etc. |
I live in Australia. It's awesome. The thing I like the most would probably have to be the social and cultural diversity. I don't think there is anywhere else in the world that can boast too much about something like this.
One of the very things I don't like about Australia is Kevin Rudd. He is just a horrible, horrible prime minister, and is totally butchering the country. This new internet filter is the final straw for me. |
Well, the thing I like in my country is fresh air, green grass and the blue clear waters with thousands of Islands floating. It's an archipelago - the Philippines. Including the cheap, fast internet connection and computers. But I'm not proud to be born in my country anyway. :x
|
This is hard because pretty much everyone I know hates the US, but I don't mind living here and I cannot really figure out why I like being here.
Well, entertainment is abundant. I enjoyed TV and computer/video games in the 90s. Oldie America is fun to look at. All sorts of neat things splurred about back then. Otherwise, I grew up in rather nice areas. Surreal life. I enjoy the suburbs and their big cities. Oh oh and into the forest near the mountains. |
I like the fact that... we have Hamish and Andy, Rove, AFL, Neighbours, multicultral-ness, the fact that we have Malyka <3, the horses (yeah, Phar Lap, Maki-- diva horse), and the fact that we're generally a friendly country that gets along with most of the others.
Don't know me and didn't guess by what I said? Australia. :D |
What I like about my country, is that it is the best ;D!
|
I love the United States. We're so diverse ethnically and geographically. I have friends with backgrounds from all over the world and I love to hear of their cultures. Geographically, we have everything. Mountains, valleys, huge lakes, beaches, marshes, etcetera. The climate is great too, I get to experience everything from 100 degree (F) days to below the freezing mark blizzard like days. I also like my freedom of speech. I can say whatever or think whatever I want. I really do love my country, even with minor problems. Alas, don't all countries have them?
|
I'm from Kuwait, and I like so many things about it.
First, it's a small country, that's not that crowded. Second, no taxes whatsoever. Third, free health care and free education (even university is free). Fourth, LOTS of malls and places to have fun. Fifth, everything is SO cheap and efficient, and the shops close after 10pm. Sixth, you never get snow. |
I like the United States because of it's history and climate.
It's pretty much a mixture of all the countries in the world. |
In the US, what I love is.. As long as you have determination and confidence you can succeed.
Also the US has a wide variety's of climates. It's beautiful in every state. |
I'm from Brazil.
And I don't like anything about this place. Seriously. |

How is no snow a good thing? I always thought it would have been a bad thing. But maybe that's cause I've always wanted to go to the snow. >_< |
Britain here.
I like the slang terms for our money here; Quid, Fiver, Tenner etc. Oh, and tea, can't forget that. |
I live in England, so nothing. I'm really struggling to think of something...I suppose the rain, since when it's sunny it's always too hot. And fish'n'chips by the seaside!
|
I live in Canada so the winter T__________T
No but I do like health care and democracy |
What I like about my country is: That everyone isn't uber religious
|
England.
Best history of any country... but that's all. We were awesome —with our longbows and billhooks and a tendancy to pwn random countries when we feel like it— but not now. |
I live in Canada. The things I obviously love about Canada is how well health care is covered for those under 18. It saved me A LOT of headache when I had to go to the hospital. XD
And another obvious one: the democracy. Ya gotta love it. <3 |
Great food, if that counts
|
I live in the US. I like the fact you can vote, the fact that our army used to serve us and the fact that income tax is a choice but I hate how it's just a trick to pay off the stupid dept. I love the freedom we used to have even though I probably didn't get to enjoy it, the fact the US wasn't always a evil controlled country that would bomb buildings just for a stupid war so yea. The US maybe a awful place but it used to be great. I just hope Obama will fix it back to normal.

What do I like about England? Well...
- The history: All of it. There was always something going on. The Roman invasion, the British Empire...oh yeah, we rock. - The weather: I LIKE cold, wet and miserable, alright? The weather is the one thing I can find that is more miserable than I am, so I'm usually quite happy when it rains. - The educational system: I got out of Secondary School two years before people got out of High School. Thank GOD. From what I've heard, our standards of education are a lot higher, as well. - The fact that we still have a monarchy. The Queen might not really govern the country anymore, but...its a tradition that has withstood the changing times, and I like that. - London. I grew up almost as a country boy - I've never lived anywhere but extremely small villages. I go to University in the city, but London...London is something else. Its HUGE. The opera/theatre there is top class, as well. - Our stereotype. I just find it so amusing that the rest of the world can be so ignorant! When people think of England, they tend to think of rich, eccentric snobs who like to play cricket and drink cups of tea, and occasionally go hunting. People not English doing English accents just makes me laugh. - The Royal Marines. The finest soldiers in the world. - The British Pound Sterling. To hell with Euros, we use our own currency. - The health care. Even though I'm always complaining about it, its better than a lot of countries get, anyway. I love living in this country <3 |

But I would settle for the skate parks and climate ;D. The thing I like about Australia is theres no such thing as an Australian other than Aboriginals. So everyone has a different culture and view on things, you rarely find people that think or act the same. Plus I love summer when you go to the beaches, but also winter when you get hugs from the girls while its cold ;). The thing I hate about Australia is the poor education of problems in the world, but rather suck ups to England and America, you never learn the full side of the story to anything. I would kill for a more interesting education, no joke. |
i like how each and every country is new no matter where you go :) so theres always a new culture or place to learn about - always ;)
|
I like the US just for everything about it.
I enjoy everything about it, including our PRESENT government under President Bush. (remember, Obama isn't officially President until January) I'm proud to be an American. ~Mooshykris |
What I like about Germany? Well, we have a great and long history and we are the successors of the Roman Empire. Of course, we had bad times, most noticely the World War II. However, it was started by a few people with fanatic, mad and bads intention.
Germany brought lot of the most important scientists, poets and thinker, like Albert Einstein, Goethe or so. We also have a great literature and a stable democracy, a super social system, so that no one must be homeless or hungry. Oh, and we have one of the hardest language to learn as a foreign language. I'm proud to be German. |
Hmm, what do I like about Canada, eh?
-Free health care, the metric system, and low crime rates(when compared to the US) -I also like the fact that Canada is a peaceful nation, separating from Britain via a paper-signing rather than civil war. And we didn't go to Iraq. =D -Canada is the birthplace of the sports hockey, basketball, and lacrosse -Also the birthplace of the telephone =D |

Go English System! ~Mooshykris |
Labour...
The fact that Gordon Brown is up for election next year? I actually like our weather, villages and football (Soccer, But rightfully named football by its creators (From England) Because you actually kick the ball). There isnt much to like though. |

Anyways, seeing as I live in the absolute best place on earth (California FTW!), it's nearly impossible to complain about my country. We have everything here: comfortable climate year-round, tons of different kinds of food, products from everywhere, the beach, and Las Vegas. What's not to love? |
We have really good cheeseburgers here.
And fries. |
Well, I don't know. Ever since the recession hit, it doesn't really look like there's anything good about Ireland.
Actually, I do know that I'm always going to be grateful for two Irish sports, hurling and Gaelic football. Best sports in the world. And that's about it. |

anyway, the thing i love about my country is... not EVERYONE is a prick. |
In Philippines? The thing I like most is the scenery and the tourist spots, that's all. Most of the time here is pollution and mud.:(

I like Australia because it's Australia.
We can have cold days and hot days. SO it's fun seeing other people shiver uncontroliblty when they haven't dressed right! The wildlife is amazing! So many! The reptiles are the best though. |
I love our lack of gun control. I love my guns ^.^
|
I like it, because we have ninjaz......oh wait....thats japan.......
well, we have uncut anime!......oh wait.......that's japan too....... then, because we get all of the video games and tech first most of the time >:) .........oh......thats japan too isn't it? hmmm......well........Oh yeah! anime isn't considered just for kids by the majority of the population..........wait a second.....Japan??? lol, i like the freedom to bear arms, cheeseburgers, freedom, girls too i guess? (I hear america is too obese and other places have better :O Yeah i'm shallow when it comes to that....XD but i'm not mean though) no offense.....XD, and How i can understand the native language. XD |
I live in the USA and I love everything I take for granted.
|
I live in Slovenia and i love that eventhough it's small it still has a lot beautiful nature^^ I also love that education is free :)
|
