Lala Fails (Contains Ugly Magnet) } Platinum
Yes, it is another *gasp* gorgeous OU Platinum team! I've been playing with this on the ladder, about 5 losses, and a plethora of wins from testing. (Still can't reach 50th on Smogon OU ladder "surprisingly".) While I was making this team, I was trying to cover almost all of their weaknesses, although some of the resists are albeit not really meant to take hits, they form a chain of defense. I was also seeing Flygon getting not quite enough usage to be booted off to OU, so I decided to use that. Gengar usage also dropped because of Hypnosis. ._. So yes, I beg D_A to not troll this team, and for him to seriously rate this team. This applies for every single one of you people, especially Ryab and other seriously good people. So alas, my begging comes to an end and the team appears! http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpiconani/dpiconani482.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpiconani/dpiconani145.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpiconani/dpiconani184.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpiconani/dpiconani330.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpiconani/dpiconani094.gifhttp://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpiconani/dpiconani251.gif http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfb/dpmfb482.pnghttp://veekun.com/dex-images/items/focus-sash.png Azelf @ Focus Sash
Azelf is just one fine Suicide Lead, being faster than most others except Aerodactyl. Although it's kind of annoying seeing these dumb leads trying to stomp all over Lead Elf. ._. No, I refuse to remove this unless absolute sturdy reasoning is given. (Saying it's ugly is not valid, and would most likely give you an infraction courtesy of D_A.) http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfb/dpmfb145.pnghttp://veekun.com/dex-images/items/choice-specs.png Zapdos @ Choice Specs
Zapdos is the only Scizor counter that's sturdy enough to take those incredibly strong shots. Although SR is a big pain, I'm confident Zapdos will still be triumphant. Also one of the most respected Special Attackers on this team. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpffb/dpffb184.pnghttp://veekun.com/dex-images/items/choice-band.png Azumarill (F) @ Choice Band

http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfb/dpmfb094.pnghttp://veekun.com/dex-images/items/choice-scarf.png Gengar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Apparently Smogoners claim since the accuracy of Hypnosis is now poop, Gengar usage would in general decline. But I didn't expect about 8 drops down the list from just a Hypnosis accuracy drop, I expected people to still recognize it to be a possible good Revenge Killer. (But Anti seems to disagree otherwise from long ago if my memory hasn't exploded. =x) I am of the opinion Scarf Gar is still a lovely Revenge Killer. EDIT: juyhtrfert Darn D_A and his invincible logic. >:< http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpmfsb/dpmfsb251.pnghttp://veekun.com/dex-images/items/life-orb.png Celebi @ Life Orb
Celebi is the 2nd threat of the special corner, so it balances out the supporters of each offense. It provides little resistances and 7 weaknesses that need support, but pretty much all of them are supported, if not all. Also looks cute when shiny lololol. =x Yes, I have an enormous Dark and Ghost-type weakness, but I DO have a CB Azumarill and Gengar to fight them off, unless Gengar gets destroyed by Sucker Punch and Will-O-Wisp points its finger at Azumarill. I would be completely pooped on if that happened. >=/ http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff132/all4gaia/finalwords.jpg Yes, I've taken my sweet time to make this RMT, and I do not want anyone trolling my RMT. I refuse to give special permission to D_A or Ryab to troll my RMTs from now on. All attempts will be given strict punishment on Shoddy Battle and most likely it is D_A who shall be smashed most. Have a nice day, and continue to RMT. |
Why HP Ground on Celebi when it gets Earth Power now?

Three Choice items on one team seems a bit iffy considering the fast pace of today's metagame and how using Choice items will often result in a free turn for your opponent, either giving them a chance to set up or to hit something hard. I'd consider running a bulky Zapdos over your current one if I were you since your team lacks any kind of bulk and you seem to have nothing to stop a lategame Scizor sweep. If want to keep your all-out offensive style, consider Heatran over Zapdos as that will help with Scizor while still keeping up the offense and your team covers Heatran's weaknesses really well. Heatran also helps with Weavile, which looks really threatening for your team. The CB variant can snipe out Gengar trapped on Shadow Ball or Hidden Power and Celebi with Pursuit and will deal some massive damage to Flygon and Zapdos with Ice Punch. The SD variant might not be as threatening, but if it can get in a Swords Dance, it can be a problem. CBTar also hurts your team a lot as you have nothing that can switch in on its Crunch, but the times it can safely switch in might be limited considering how many ways you have to hurt it.
Overall, I like your team, but I'd really give Heatran a chance if you haven't tried it out already. |

Why are you using Focus Punch on Azumarill when Superpower is superior to it in almost every sense of the word. Unless there is a legal issue (if there is, make ROOM for Superpower). No safe switch into Tyranita really hurts you, and considering even a CB TTar can revenge kill your Gengar locked in Tbolt/Shadow Ball means your only real "check" is gone. Once Gengar is gone, your team becomes a lot more vulnerable to the most common sweepers. Gyarados and Salamence notably, as each of them run your entire team over once they got in a single Dragon Dance.
A way to remedy this is to add Porygon2 to the mix, preferably over Celebi. You could even make it into a Charge Beam attacker since its Special Attack is higher than Celebi's anyway: Porygon2 @ Leftovers Bold 252 HP / 120 Def / 40 SpA / 96 SpD Ice Beam Thunderbolt/Discharge Recover Magic Coat/Thunder Wave/Toxic Best Gyarados counter in the game and also gives you a safe switch into Electivire and Heatran, both are whom also really take a chunk out of this team with very few safe switches (bar Cross Chop from Electivire). Porygon2 @ Leftovers/Life Orb Modest 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe Charge Beam Ice Beam Tri Attack Recover 339 Special Attack is quite good, and after a boost things will start getting hurt bad. Overall, your average team, but nothing bad about that eh? Oh, besides physical sweepers eating you up =/ |

:D You seem to be like me...There's not one defensive Pokemon in that team. Hmm...As someone else said, three Choice Items on a team is a bit dodgy... x.x I don't have much else to say. It's not too bad.

Choice items can be fine if you can clear the field of entry hazards and predict well. I'm not able to do a full rate yet, however, Zapdos concerns me a bit. I have succesfully run a Specs set, although it's best to give it Max Spd and Timid. That takes advantage of the base 100 spd. If you want more bulk, you can run (iirc) 176 Spd to outrun +Spd B90s. Also, HP Grass seems stupid if you're not leading with it, as the coverage doesn't make up for it. Besides, Celebi and Azu can deal with it fine. (Waterfall is a 2HKO iirc)
You've been told the big threats and I back up those saying Superpower>Focus Punch. If you have a problem with opposing Ghosts, a pursuiter will be very helpful. Oh and you could run more Def>HP on Azu, as it lets it take hits better, just remember AJ won't usually OHKO TTar. |
Your really playing with fire if you run 3 choice items. Not saying it doesn't work, but back in the day when I first played I abused choice items to no end, and it ended up costing me the game QUITE a few times.
ScarfGengars really only needed Timid to outrun ever popular Deoxys-E. TimidScarf hit a BEASTLY 525 Speed, un-matched by anything other than opposing choicers. But with Modest you hit a very nice 394 special attack, and still hit a nice 467~ speed, which outspeeds even the less common Ninjask, (not counting a speed boost). You might as well run modest, as it will ensure a OHKO, on TTars with Focus Blast and the extra damage on incoming Scizors who want to run in on shadow ball and set up is quite fancy too. Your team runs NO defense side of Celebi, who has almost no investment in its bulky side, so a Suicide lead is just plain Meh. There are SO MANY MORE, efficient leads who don't have to blow up to get the job done. And when you consider it, the explosion is ever easy to predict as they see sash, and they know it's there. (that is if zong gets a Gyro off because most live fire blast, due to zelf being neutral nature, and non-stab) BulkyZapdos would do a bit more for the team, as it can allow you to be a bit bulky, and deal with scizor a bit late game, as you have Roost to deal with said SR damage. Focus Punch on a CBAzu is just plain blah, as you'll rarely spout 2 Focus Punches in a row. Super power is very beastly, and will be a nasty hit from anything. and still OHKO's TTar, where your aqua jet lacks the power to do. Weavile has a LOT of power to sweep this team, as it can come in on things such as, Zelf/Gar/Celebi, laugh at you a bit, and Pursuit your ass till the sun rises. Considering you have very little bulk on Dos, the famous CBAdamentShard will be a 2HKO on it, and Night slash will run down Azu, although he might live 1. Heatran CAN be effective against Weavile, but offers nothing to it's CBBrick Break, which will 2HKO, even if it's not a 1HKO, so there is no "safely switching in" unless you come in on a CB Night slash or Shard/Punch. |

After using Azelf on my own team, I've found Aero much more useful. Being faster makes him more effective at his job, and considering NO ONE brings in Blissey into LeadElf, the whole "Explosion OHKO's Blissey" argument is a bad one. I've had plenty of Ghosts come in to block my Explosion, whereas at least Aero could hurt these Ghosts thank to Crunch/Stone Edge. |
Um, ScarfGar also runs Timid to outrun Gyara w/ 2 DDs. There are other things, but I forget.
|
Yes yes, I forgot about Gyara. <_< and the fact that he has no walls, TimidGar really is the only thing he has to Revenge it <_< which is pretty bad.
