Weird ticking sound.

When I turned on my computer this morning it was normal, but seconds later I heard a ticking sound. I ignored it because I thought it's just a background sound of some internet website that I accessed. But then I closed all my programs including internet explorer, the ticking sound is still there. It happens every 30 seconds if I'm correct.

Could be a part going bad. I would backup your files and keep an eye on it.

I know, I already did that. The only thing is, the ticking sound came from my headphones and not from the Hard Drive.

What is that mysterious ticking noise? xD

Do you get it when you listen to the computer through speakers? Or another pair of headphones? This just sounds like a simple hardware issue.

Yep. If it was the hard disk, then it would be the CPU that ticks. I've been searching for google too and nothing matches.

Meh, it's probably a misconnection in the disk that you connect speakers/headphones or the connection of the headphones. I would check inside and reconnect the disk were you connect the speaker. No biggy.

what about trying another set of headphones?

It is gone now. It lasted about 2 hours. I rebooted my computer, and everything seems normal. I'm afraid it might be my Hard Disk and made a backup.

I am inclined to believe your soundcard did not boot properly or was having conflicts. It can tend to cause noises or sound lagging when this happens.
