WiFi DP OU Starter RMT.

Abbreviations, yay!

I haven't posted an RMT in a while, and while all of mine genuinely fail because I don't take two hours to consider threats like TTar, Gyarados, and such, I don't make these for the sake of "Isn't my team the best evar?!11oen". I often do concept teams, because, unless you've all forgotten, this game does allow its players to have fun once in a while.

Regardless, here's my horribly metagame-kills-me starter RMT, enjoy.

The Overview...

The Team...

HerdYaLiek [Mudkipz? :p] (Swampert) @ Leftovers
Impish
EV's: 252 HP, 252 Defense, 4 Attack
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Avalanche
-Stealth Rock

Lead Physipert, to set up rocks and then proceed to smack around opponents. Considering Focus Sash for the standard suicide lead option; thoughts?

http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/blaziken.png//http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/rsberry/rsberry38.png
DiscoPants (Blaziken) @ Salac Berry
Jolly
EV's: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Defense
-Substitute
-Reversal
-Fire Punch
-Swords Dance

Standard ReversalKen is standard. Subs until Blaze and Salac are activated, then proceeds to seriously lay some hurting down on its opponents.

http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/torterra.png//http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v302/shawnjon5000/Pokemon%20Items/rsitem164.png
Fortress (Torterra) @ Leftovers
Impish
EV's: 212 HP, 252 Defense, 44 Speed
-Wood Hammer
-Earthquake
-Leech Seed
-Protect / Stone Edge

TankTerra is actually quite a lot of fun to use. Wood Hammer hits a lot of things extremely hard, though I do have to watch out for Blissey. Earthquake is STAB, Leech Seed is for a viable form of recovery outside of Leftovers, and I'm not sure what to run in the last slot; Stone Edge does provide more coverage, but Protect racks up Leech Seed damage and is useful for scouting Choice-locked users. Thoughts?

http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/infernape.png
Diddy Kong (Infernape) @ Choice Scarf
Naive
EV's: 252 Special Attack, 232 Speed, 24 Attack
-Close Combat
-HP Electric
-Flamethrower
-Grass Knot

ScarfMixApe agogogo. Breaks walls, seriously harasses Tyranitar, and is just awesome. CC and Flamethrower are for STAB, GK is for bulky Waters and others.

http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/empoleon.png//http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/rsberry/rsberry39.png
ArcticKing (Empoleon) @ Petaya Berry
Modest
EV's: 252 Special Attack, 216 Speed, 28 HP, 12 Defense
-Agility
-Substitute
-Surf
-Ice Beam / Grass Knot

SubPetaya Empoleon is awesome because it can switch into so much in the metagame right now, and in Platinum is an ideal Scizor switch as it can lul at Choice Band Bullet Punch. (Though, before anyone says it, IT DOES FAIL TO SUPERPOWER/BRICK BREAK SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP :p) It takes time to set up, but when it does, it can do a lot of damage. Surf for STAB, and Ice Beam and Grass Knot are for "Bulky Waters vs. Fliers :#" debate.

http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/sceptile.png
RoyalBlade (Sceptile) @ Focus Sash
Naive
EV's: 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 4 Defense
-Counter
-Endeavor
-Quick Attack
-Leaf Storm

This is a concept set. Without Sand Stream, this thing can rip apart potentially 3 of my opponent's Pokemon. It will Counter a physical attack to kill off a first Pokemon, FEAR the second, and if my opponent has Tyranitar / Hippowdon, Overgrow Leaf Storm says hi. If the SubSeed set is REALLY better, then I'll go with it. For now, though, I think this set has a lot of potential. :#

Let me know what you think! ;)

K, done item sprites for you....stupid berries >.>

Also;

Put a scarf on that ape and use Hidden Power Electric >> Nasty Plot or Gyarados eats you.

Sure this is for fun, but losing really isnt fun is it ?

Meganium is the set up fodder of UU. In OU, it basically says "Hello, physical or special sweepers. You DD/SD/NP/CM up while I do absolutely nothing"

In other words, get RID of it. It doesn't do anything for you, and is entirely outclassed by Celebi as a means to heal status. I don't like the amount of sweepers that require a set up on this team, as something like an automatic counter or something faster screws them over pretty much. For this reason, go with D_A's suggestion of ScarfApe, as it can hit *relatively* hard with super effective hits on a majority of the game's threats.

Okay, so this is a starter team, meaning only starters are to be used. That means that Sceptile should be used over Meganium since it can be a very irritating SubSeeder. I'd like to see some CB Torterra action going on, since it's bulky, and hits like a train.

Swampert is fine, it actually can withstand a few common leads of today.

D_A: This is a WiFi team, and I already have Infernape fully EV trained and such, but ololololol, peep this:

6 HP / 27 Attack / 12 Defense / 14 Speed / 15 Special Attack / 3 Special Defense
Hidden Power: Electric, power 67
OLOLOLOLOLOLLLLL

Yay versatility. :p

Vance: Sure. I had already obtained (but not started EV training) Meganium, and realized how well my team can deal with status once I began posting this thread. Out it goes for Sceptile, just give me a minute to get the set I want for it.

still olololol'ing @ my HP Electric Ape. What a friggin' coincidence. :p

Sceptile @ Leftovers
Timid
58 HP/200 Def/252 Spe
Leech Seed
Substitute
Protect
Toxic/Energy Ball

Guess you didn't see Torterra there while you were making this excuse for a rate, eh?

Stealing D_A's opportunity here and closing this by DonnyBoy's request. \o/
