My new team
This is my new team. I've been testing it and I'm currently 7-3, with two of my losses being because I got haxed badly, but I have terrible luck in DP.
[email protected] Sludge Nature: Timid EVs: 252 spd/252 special attack ~Trick ~Hypnosis ~Thunderbolt ~HP Ice Hypnosis is slightly less unreliable when I use it in Pokemonexperte's server thanks to the clause, but otherwise it's risky. If Hypnosis works I use Trick and switch out. [email protected] Orb Nature: Naive EVs: 252 spd/190 special attack/68 attack ~Nasty Plot ~Flamethrower ~Close Combat ~Grass Knot I try to switch to this guy when my opponent is put to sleep. Unfortunately my luck is so bad in DP my opponent usually wakes up instantly and OHKOs him. [email protected] Scarf Nature: Timid EVs: 252 spd/252 special attack ~Earth Power ~Flamethrower ~HP Electric ~Explosion I like Choice Scarf but he's still bit a slow with it. He's been very effective for me though. HP Electric hits Gyarados who otherwise counters this, and I use Explosion because I couldn't decide if it was more valuable than Dragon Pulse. [email protected] Nature: Bold EVs: 252 HP/252 Def ~Stealth Rock ~Seismic Toss ~Softboiled ~Ice Beam My SRer. [email protected] Band Nature: Jolly EVs: 252 atk/252 spd ~Ice Shard ~Earthquake ~Superpower ~Stone Edge I like Ice Shard alot. Superpower was put on there but I didn't really see what else could go on there. [email protected] Specs Nature: Timid EVs: 252 spd/252 special attack ~Seed Flare ~Air Slash ~Earth Power ~HP Ice HP Ice seems kind of filler to me because I couldn't think of what else to use. I was thinking of maybe Grasswhistle but it's accuracy is terrible. But I guess being able to hit something like Salamence or Dragonite for more damage is cool. Oh, and I don't know Shaymin-S's stance in the American circuit, but it's currently OU in the German circuit. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks. |

Black Sludge isn't really going to help you and it isn't really going to hurt your opponent that bad if you trick it on them. Quote:

Black Sludge works if a wall switches in though, as it isn't as effective without Leftovers. I was thinking of Choice Scarf but it seems like Gengar outspeeds most leads anyway.
|
Try focus sashing infernape. If your luck really is this bad, he should be able to get one hit off, rather than none.
On Heatran, Lava Plume has better base power (just), but an increased burn chance. Maybe your luck could change? Seriously, if you have a ton of 30% or more moves, you're bound to have one pay off. With Mamoswine, you could try him as your SR pkmn. Blissey would be better off with Thunder Wave (yes, I know, chance, but lowers speed too). For Shaymin, try Psychic rather than HP Ice. You've got ice on 3 others as well, so it seems a bit of overkill. |
What is a wall going to do with a Choice Scarf attached to it?
A Choice item is going to hurt a wall more then Black Sludge. Actually a lot of leads outspeed Gengar as well. Aerodactyl, Scartran, and Azelf being the main ones. |
Yeah that's true. Choice Scarf would hinder a wall pretty badly. As for making Mamoswine my SR Pokemon, I feel he's better off as an all-out attacker. I should try Lava Plume though.

Why not sub Flamethrower on Heat for Heatwave ? More accurate than Fire Blast.

Anyway, onto the team itself. Things look just fine, but you REALLY need a Rock resist. [email protected] Band Adamant - Stone Edge - Earthquake - Crunch - Pursuit This almost OHKOs your entire team, IF it doesn't OHKO it. You'll need a makeshift "counter" to take a hit or two, so I would suggest Agiliuke > Infernape. This at least lets you take CB Crunches, revenge T-Tar if it Pursuits (and lead to a potential sweep), and does what MixApe does, only with better resists. |

359 Sp. Atk vs 176 Sp. Def & 334 HP (95 Base Power): 416 - 492 (124.55% - 147.31%) That isn't just a OHKO, that's overkill. Not to mention, 5 extra base power really isn't worth -10% accuracy and -5 PP. |

Why is your Heatran Timid natured? It weakens your Explosion, try Naive nature.
|
Explosion is still dang powerful, even with Timid nature. Heatran loves its defenses so it can come in on Shadow Balls or Bullet Punches and threaten to KO things pretty quickly. Timid is actually the only safe option here to prevent its defenses from being shot.

Lucario @ Life Orb Adamant Nature | Inner Focus [6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd] ~ Agility ~ Close Combat ~ Crunch ~ Ice Punch This can, iirc outspeed ScarfGar after an Agility, so you can OHKO with Crunch. Feel free to suggest changes, I'm running with what comes to mind. It's also an option to cut back on Speed in exchange for HP. As for Specsmin, it's just not a great Idea. Life Orb gives you similar power and the ability to use that coverage. Even if you keep you set, just change the item. To much switching due to move-locking means extra SR damage. :| |

[email protected] Orb 6 hp / 252 Sp.Att / 252 Speed Modest Nature Trait :Inner Focus - Dark Pulse / Shadow Ball - Hidden Power Ice - Aura Sphere / Focus Blast - Agility This is still a great wall breaker and as said by abyay, it gives you a check to t-tar to take stone edges and crunches. Focus Blast 2hko's even calm blissey whilst Aura Sphere 3hko's but gives you more accuracy, so its up to you. So yeah, >>ape, something to consider. |
It can already come in on Shadow Balls and threaten. Anything else Special already threatens a 2OHKO.
|
D_A, you do realise that Focus Blast has a 49% chance of hitting twice, no? Everything is walled by something (theoretically), so you need to bring it in at the right time, anyway. After an Agility, AgiliLuke is a powerful late-game threat.
If you go with Special, you're severely limited from the Physical Offensive front. Which is an issue, considering most Special threats are walled by Blissey alone. |

Its just that the net damage output of physical agililuke is kinda poop and the special agility set outdamages it and is generally better at "breaking walls". If you want a good late game physical Lucario you might aswell use Swords Dance Luke since that set is a huge threat and great late game sweeper (probably the best late game sweeper) and does actually fit well on this team, by looking over it again. |
