Rate my team (hi Vance)
I haven't played in a long time, so I'm hoping to get back into the game by creating a new team, all help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Bronzong @ Macho Brace Levitate Sassy, 252 HP / 84 Attack / 80 Def / 92 SpD Trick Light Screen Gyro Ball Earthquake DDMence check , Mamoswine counter and it sets up Screens ensuring that my team has extra survivability. Trick also cripples pokemon that I may not be able to deal with, ensuring they can be finished off by another pokemon due to the reduced Speed. Tyranitar @ Choice Band Adamant, 252 HP / 252 Attack / 6 Spe Pursuit Stone Edge Crunch Aqua Tail One word: Pursuit. It is probably the best move in the game in my book trapping stuff and more often than not securing the KO on Pokemon weak to Dark, such as ScarfGar and Rotom. Will-O-Wisp means I wouldn't switch Tar in there all the time though, only when I'm certain they would use an attacking move. Tar's amazing SpD with SS up also makes alot of stuff easily taken care of by Pursuit. Tentacruel @ Choice Scarf 30 SpA IV Timid, 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP Ice Beam Hidden Power [Electric] 70 Hydro Pump Toxic Spikes Absorbs Toxic Spikes, and serves as a revenge-killer for the likes of RP Rhyperior, DDMence (speed tie unfortunately) and takes a chunk off DDGyara. Tenta also resists loads of stuff allowing it to come in on Infernape, Fire Blasts from Heatran, and other special attackers, and score KOs. If said Infernape happens to run anti-Tenta moves (SD Thunderpunch anyone?), Hydro Pump gets rid of it before it even makes a move. Mamoswine @ Life Orb Adamant, 252 Attack / 196 Spe / 56 HP Ice Shard Earthquake Stone Edge Stealth Rock Earthquake 2HKOes loads of pokemon who, ironically are supposed to wall Mamo in the first place. The main reason why Mamo is here is for Ice Shard, as a revenge-killer for Salamence, and for other speed boosting pokemon as priority is always neat. Skarm and Weezing aren't as common anymore so I don't want to rely on Blizzard to hurt them. Celebi @ Life Orb Timid, 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP Recover Grass Knot Earth Power Calm Mind Offensive Calm Minder and a Lucario check, outspeeding and OHKOing them with Earth Power. It also guards against CroCune and other bulky stat-uppers. Rotom-H @ Leftovers Bold, 252 HP / 88 Spe / 168 Def Thunderbolt Overheat Will-O-Wisp Reflect Rotom-H covers Scizor, Metagross and Gyarados, Will-O-Wisp wards off Tyranitar / Weavile and Reflect increases its physical durability. |
Aqui notices my existence D= Nevertheless, the team looks great, except for a few...odd nitpicks.
First off, is it really wise to have Overheat on a Sleep Talk set? I'd use a Reflect/Overheat/Thunderbolt/WoW or Thunder Wave set. Rest-Talk, from my experiances, makes it either set up fodder, or just PLAIN Pursuit bait. With WoW, you can burn the incoming Tyranitar/Weavile, set up a Reflect, and then escape and receive the smallest damage possible from Pursuit, while also crippling the opposition. Rotom-H is very durable, its just that things hit so hard in this metagame, people forget about that. Props for using Scarf Tentacruel; I always wanted to try one out. I highly dislike CM Celebi without Recover...I dislike any Celebi without Recover honestly. I'd remove Calm Mind for Recover, Grass Knot for either Leaf Storm (or keep Grass Knot). This still handles Lucario, while retaining some bulk and freedom to spam away attacks since LO recoil will be recovered off anywho. Let's not forget that Leaf Storm's power coming off Celebi's attacks is rivaling Salamence's Draco Meteor. Overall, great team. Can't find a big weakness yet (at least until I fight and crush it lol). Britney Spears: You know Vance Britney Spears: Not everything you say it right Britney Spears: is right* Britney Spears: So stop always making it sound otherwise BTW DONT LISTEN TO MY RATE IF YOU DONT WANT TOOOO!!!111 |
Well, Aqui... Don't you think you'd wanna give Tyranitar 84 or so Speed EV's so he can outspeed (and slam) Skarmory with Stone Edge, before it even gets a chance to roost?

If I remove CM from Celebi it basically means bulky Calm Minders would do a number on my team, so I was considering running GK + EP or GK + HP Fire, the latter one failing to OHKO Lucario, so I put GK + EP.
I can't help but think of Tyranitar coverage, I don't have any safe switchins to Crunch, CBDonphan could go over Mamoswine retaining Ice Shard that OHKOs Mence, but CB Crunch 2HKOs it anyway and its as slow as molasses. I was thinking about SpecsLuke, serving as a check for SDLukes and other Lucarios not using Vacuum Wave, and most probably it would fit in over Celebi as I don't rely on it for countering major threats. The sole exception is that I may face CroCunes and such and I would have to sacrifice a pokemon to take it down. |

In short; Specs Ape can be a nice idea for things like Suicune, Lucario, Celebi, etc... Infernape @ Choice Specs Timid/Modest 252 SpA/252 Spe/6 HP Focus Blast Grass Knot HP Ice Fire Blast |
spec nape sounds like a neat idea, but i dunno, i just don't think it'll do much good.
