Haven't done one of these in a while....Rate it please. ^___^
http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/metagross.png Metagross @ Choice Scarf Jolly 4 HP / 252 Att / 252 Speed Trick Earthquake Meteor Mash Stealth Rock *Steals D_A's lead*....Lol. But seriously, this thing is beast. Screws up so much stuff with an incredibly unexpected 393 lead, which outspeeds almost every standard lead. A well place trick can totally cripple lead pokes with ease. Not to mention, 369 attack with a decent 262 speed without the scarf is still dangerous. Meteor Mash for STAB and Earthquake for coverage. He has yet to fail me ^____^ http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/shaymin_sky.png Shaymin-S @ Life Orb Timid 4 HP / 252 Sp Attack / 252 Speed Seed Flare Earth Power HP Ice Air Slash. Ok Ok....I do feel horrible for using this. But honestly, as long as it's in OU, it is one of the most threatening, if not the most threatening pokemon in today's metagame. It'll end up taking a lot from SR and Sandstorm damage, but once it's in, you better watch out. Seed Flare eats things alive, resisted or not. Earth Power, HP Ice and Air Slash offer excellent type coverage, not to mention Air Slash's 60% flinch rate comes in quite handy. Might as well enjoy the power before it gets shipped off to Ubers. http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/heatran.png Heatran @ Choice Scarf Naive 4 HP / 252 Sp Attack / 252 Speed Fire Blast Earth Power Explosion ??? Yupyup, it's Scarftran. Great revenge killer and still packs quite a punch with Fire Blast. Earth Power for good coverage and revenging other Scarftrans locked into fire attacks. Once he's done all he can do, he goes boom with Explosion. I need some help on the last slot, and any idea would be much appreciated. I know there are basically four choices: HP Ice, HP Grass, HP Electric and Dragon Pulse. Would someone be so kinda as to suggest what might work best? =P http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/tyranitar.png Tyranitar @ Leftovers Jolly 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed Dragon Dance Earthquake Stone Edge Crunch DDing T-Tar can come in on any number of special attackers and Dragon Dance up on the switch. People don't realize how fast thing this can become. 1 DD puts it at 364 Speed, outpacing all positive base 115 speed pokemon, which can be quite surprising. Crunch/Stone Edge hit stuff hard with very reliable STABs, and Earthquake for good coverage. I try to get this thing out mid to late game, and about half of my wins with this team have come from sweeps with this guy. http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/zapdos.png Zapdos @ Leftovers Bold 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Speed Thunderbolt Roost Heat Wave Thunderwave My physical wall and my Lucario/Scizor counter. This thing is quite sturdy, so it can Roost off any SR damage or Thunderwave to cripple whatever is coming in on the switch. T-Wave also gives me some much needed status support, and also give Metagross another chance to come in and wreak havoc. Thunderbolt is for STAB, and Heatwave takes care of Scizor and Lucario. This thing can be super annoying, and I've even had some opponents tell me so personally =P http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/azelf.png Azelf @ Choice Band Jolly Zen Headbutt U-turn Fire Punch Ice Punch/Thunder Punch Whhaa? CB Azelf? Yes...this thing hits very hard and very fast. Many of its switch-ins aren't expecting a powerful physical attack, and Zen Headbutt will make them pay. U-turn lets me scout stuff out while getting a nice hit in. I know I want Fire Punch, but I'm torn between Ice and Thunder Punch. Ice takes care of all the dragons, but Thunder lets me take out the bulky waters a bit better. Once again, I need some good feedback on this. Rate away please! It should be noted that this team has only since four losses since I began using it on Shoddy ^____^ |
Really big Gyarados weak, after a dd everything dies.(No rhyperior does not counter it *glares at scarfchomp* lol)
Given its purpose, to counter lucario/scizor, it would arguably be better to shove a heat rotom >> zapdos to help with dos too. Heatran wants Hidden power Ice or Dragon Pulse in the last slot for revenging dragons. If you choose the latter, you should, in which case go: - HP electric/fire blast/d-pulse/earth power. With Hp ice just shove it in the last slot then thats your set =p. EDIT : T-Tar weak, i would possibly put in in a Lucario, probably >> azelf >: or even a bronzong >> metagross, who would help with dd mence too. ill come back for a better rate later. |
This team, at first seems solid, but there are still many threats that need to be addressed. First off, nothing on this team beats CBTar. It Pursuits Azelf and walks all over Zapdos. Heatran's Earth Power does pathetic damage, even to sets with no Special Defense investment. Furthermore, Skymin is your only really insurance, as is Metagross (unless that thing is killed off early on, which isn't surprising). Here are the two main problems with this:
1) Stealth Rock + Sandstorm + Life Orb means Skymin loses 41% on average everytime it switches in and attacks. It has no recovery, and is easy prey for a priority user after the 41% has been lost. 2) Crunch and Earthquake do massive damage to Metagross, strong enough to OHKO (in Earthquake's case at least). Metagross is also subject to Dugtrio, who is growing ever so common with the rise of Heatran. Due to this, I'd reccomend Explosion on Azelf. Explosion will OHKO the common Tyranitar on average, even if it's resisted. Explosion also serves as a nice answer to things like Blissey, who can hurt Skymin's sweep. It also can ruin bulky waters, Machamp, etc...things that can stop Tyranitar's sweep. Don't go crazy with it though, or foe Gengar will happily switch in. After Skymin has been taken out from Stealth Rock damage, a Dragon Dance Tyranitar walks all over this team. It doesn't need more than 1 Dragon Dance to absolutely shred apart your whole team with Stone Edge/Crunch/Earthquake. Dragon Dance Salamence is in a similar boat, although it has to revert to Outrage to net most of the KOs. In short, you really need to invest in some sort of Tyranitar counter/check. A Lucario, CB or SD, in Azelf's place can work as it provides a safe switch into 3/4's of CBTar's moves, but falls to the Dragon Dance variant. For this reason, a Rest-Talk Machamp can be an excellent check for all forms of Tyranitar. A Thick Fat Hariyama can also ease the pain of Heatran, who gives this team major trouble. You decide: Machamp @ Leftovers 252 HP/36 Att/216 Def/6 Spe Dynamicpunch Stone Edge/Ice Punch Rest Sleep Talk OR Hariyama @ Leftovers Impish 78 HP/180 Att/252 Def Force Palm/Cross Chop ThunderPunch Knock Off/Rest Whirlwind/Sleep Talk You can invest more in HP/SpD to ease the pain of Heatran. |
Zapdos will be replaced with rotom-h to take care of Luke and Dos as well.
I feel like I need some more support anyway, so I'll go Hariyama > Azelf...never really used it before =/ |
aww =(
while i really like cbzelf, i really like hariyama. problem is that i've used hariyama a lot and i can tell you with all honesty that a set like that only performs temporarily. my observation has been that it really doesn't do much without CB or subpunch. |
Well if you are looking for suport then you could try Uxie over Azelf or possibly a dragonite here are the sets:
Uxie @lefties Levitate Bold/Calm {depends on what you want it for PHY or SPEC} EVs: 252 Hp / 228 Def or depeding on nature Sp.Def / 28 Sp.Atk ~Yawn ~Protect ~Calm mind ~T-Bolt/Psychic Yawn for annoyense protect for protecting, cam mind for rasing stats or reflect to reflect stuff tbolt or pshychic to atk i mean come on how hard is it to understand what i mean. ok for this you would want to start by protecting for scouting or calm mind up then yawning then after you have done that just t-bolt or psychic. and Dragonite Dragonite @Lefties/ Light screen Inner focus Calm EVs: 248 HP / 216 SpD / 44 Spe ~Light screen ~Roost/Thunder wave ~Heal Bell ~Dragon pulse this is oviuse any one with intelligence should be able to figure out what you do with this so NO. Hope I helped, BYE |

Rotom is not the most reliable counter to either Gyarados or Lucario. A number of Lucarios run Crunch, which is bad news for Rotom. It needs to be faster to deal with the Adamant variants, in which case it struggles with Gyara. Zapdos is bulkier than Rotom and can OHKO both of them, so there is little need for Reflect/WoW. Ice Punch variants can be revenged by Heatran, anyway.
I recommend Machamp over Azelf, as all they need to do is switch in TTar on anything other than U-Turn and it's gone. I see the novelty, but Azelf is a waste of space in most regards. Don't get me wrong, I quite like your team - it's just ...fun-looking? |

It was fun using CBzelf, but I agree that I need to switch him for someone more reliable. I'll probably go with Machamp like you said. |

An option is to use Heatran @ Choice Scarf 252 SPEED / 252 SP.ATT / 6 HP Timid Nature - Hidden Power Electric - Dragon Pulse - Earth power - Fire Blast Revenge kills Gyarados if it somehow gets past rotom. Speaking of which [email protected] 252 HP / 70 DEF / 188 SPEED Timid Nature - Overheat - Reflect - Discharge - Shadow Ball 280 speed for Lucario obligatory metagame check (just to recap >> zappy since it does the same thing but better for this team,aka, Lucario, Scizor check along with Gyara.) |
