So... you just didn't come?
Ever been blown off by anyone, whether it be a significant other, friend, or family member?
I was just today. Gahhh I hate this crap. I got up at 9:3oam to clean my room and dust it and alllll of that wonderfully fun stuff for my friend who was coming over later. My friend said he/she was running late because of chores. I said ok, but then got impatient almost an hour later. I texted him/her asking what was up, and he/she said "Oh, I'm in trouble, I can't come." I flipped out internally. I was thinking, "WTF? I did all of this for nothing because my friend is afraid to ask his/her pissed off parents to come over?" So now it's a Saturday night, and I'm home. Without any friends. Lonesome. :/// |
Yeah,98% of the time it's my parent's fault though >.>';
The other 1% is if I really don't feel like it..sick,or just otherwise ain't in the chill mood. D: |

I don't usually get blown off by anyone. It's usually me that blows someone off because I'm just too lazy at the moment or something really imporatant just came up so I really can't do what I promised.

Same here, usually I'm the one who does the blowing off. (lol)
Or when I really excited about something, usually something happens (mostly because I get sick) and it gets cancelled. >.>; |
I always turn up, no matter what.
This always happens to me, either my 'friends' think it's hilarious when I'm the only one that goes and nobody else turns up (I've since ditched them) or more recently I was planning to go up to Nottingham with a friend, we had been planning it for 6 months; I had bought the tickets, arranged accomadation and everything and he had payed his share; when it came to the day, half an hour after he was supposed to have turned up at the station I rang him and he says: "Oh sorry, my mum says I can't go; I didn't ask her if I could go until just now." I just hung up on him and since then he hasn't apoligized or even said anything, we were best friends for about 2 years and now he won't even talk to me as if I was the one who didn't turn up? Well that's another 'friend' lost then, maybe I'm just bad at choosing friends. At least you have a tidy room now Michii, I had to go through the hassle of getting it all sorted and then cancelling it all over the phone with a northerner. This has happened to me so many times I just don't bother arranging anything anymore so then nothing happens unless somebody else can be bothered to arrange something (almost never) |
Ever had one of those friends who invites you for no reason and for you to show up and they not be there? I have 5-6 of them so yeah when i get the chance i blow them all of.

I don't normally get blown off by anyone. I tend to blow people off. xD
|
Well, I can't say I've really been blown off in the outside world, but there has been many times where I said I couldn't go to parties and whatnot. Due to things I have to do, or just not really wanting to. So, basically, it's usually me doing the 'blowing off'.
|
Ughhhh. I've got one friend that is totally infamous for doing this, but it sucks because she's my only real-life friend that likes anime and stuff like this too. Orz...:B
The thing that annoys me the most about her is that she'll never call to tell me she's cancelled. It'll be an hour or so since she's said "she's about to leave" and then I'll call her to make sure she hasn't died or anything (she lives about ten minutes away, but there's a totally sketch neighborhood between us) and she'll be all like "Ooh~ I can't come afterall, sorry~" -__-* |
I don't recall blowing off anyone as of late, but I do get blown off all the time, mostly by my parents.
I ask my parents (Or anyone for that matter) to come to X place before X hour, but they always end up either forgetting it, or they have too much other priorities to take care off. It annoys me, but I've grown to get used to it, so its trivial as far as I'm concerned, but annoying when I was younger. |
Not anymore, I can drive now, so I usually cart mah friends around, there's no getting blown off when your the driver :3.
|
xD I'm too cheap to drive around since I have to buy my own gas, so I make all my friends come to my house. But I've got a huge room, so they usually don't mind anyway.

I dont like to blow other people off, but I like to get blown off, but its annoying when they say they wont come, but then they come anyway.
|
Usually I am the exact opposite(I do the blowing off). I don't like doing it, but there are other things I need to do. Or I am tired. But most of the time I will go over my friends' houses. If they invite me though.
|
I'm the more likely to be late or not be there. But my friends know that and they love me. It's just my awful timekeeping and inability to decide until the last minute.
|
"So...you just didn't come?"
I totally interpreted that in the wrong way. Quote:
Yeah, I've had my fair share of disappointments but I've learned not to be too optimistic when it comes to certain things. Especially when the person has a bad track record. I try to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Most of my friends call and tell me if something changes though, and I do the same on my part. |
I knew this guy back in high school. He was two grades behind me so when I left last June, we began talking on the phone once in a while (every few months) and I must include that I have never talked on the phone with a friend for more than a few words and that the first ever phone call with him was my first phone convo with a good friend and longest one (four hours)
So he tells me he wants to hang out on Saturday and that he'll call me the next day to confirm. He then, for the rest of the conversation, brings up how much he can't wait to hang out on Saturday. Next day comes, no phone call. No Saturday hangout. In September, a day after my visit to the high school, he calls again, wanting to get together the next day. He gets me all excited but then I ask him what went on and why he didn't call me. He tells me some stuff about not having the guts/being too lazy. So I actually think he's coming this time so I spend all this time talking to my mom and dad, cleaning my room and getting ready. This time he'll call when he's ready to come over. He doesn't call I still like him but I think my other friend (his ex-friend who he hates) is going to see my house before he does. >: ( |
Sometimes I arrange to meet with friends but they never show. I try not to go ballistic, and the doctor says I'm getting better.
Very rarely do I blow someone else off, but when I do, it's usually due to laziness, sickness, or lack of sleep. And I usually like to show up early, even if it means standing out in the cold for 15 minutes because they're 10 minutes late. Better than getting left behind. |
