I'll sign, but don't forget about the 2500+ signatures petition on ipetition. I think it's already been linked to on here... :)

Sign Sign Sign!

My first game was crystal, luved it

Logan December 28th, 2008 1:03 PM

I loved G/S/C it would be great on DS with awesome graphics, D/P/Pt battle screen and Sinnoh Pokemon so I'm In for a G/S/C remake.

Yanmega Owns December 28th, 2008 3:12 PM

The thing about that petition there was a lot of spam. However it would be pushing forward greatly, it's pretty unreliable. I have signed there as well but I think it would be better if the two things were separate because it would be very unorganised. Some of the names were repeated. Thanks for bringing that to my attention though. I'll ask the higher ups what they'll do.

Mika555 December 28th, 2008 3:44 PM

You are welcome.:) Now that you mention it there is a lot of spam on there and some of the people are being dishonest by sighing more than one time.

Yanmega Owns December 28th, 2008 3:47 PM

Anyone got another forum they would like to post this on?

Redvines32 December 29th, 2008 5:38 PM

-signs petition- Gold remake is a must have. D;

Tinhead Bruce December 29th, 2008 7:11 PM

R/B/Y got a remake, So its time the best of them all got one too!!!

Soccerryle December 30th, 2008 10:21 PM

Signed!

G/S/C is too good of a generation to be lost, with the GBC ROM..

Bring back the fun!

Anxiety. December 31st, 2008 4:38 PM

I'll join. I want them to make a remake because:

1. The starters and legendarys, although possible to get, are really hard to get on the newer games.
2. Good game, old platform, I can't even see the damn screen xD

I would like to see a remake, it was one of the greatest games. Lets see this game on the DS, or Wii ;P Doubt they'd do that though, we better just try and get it for the DS!

The list, I wish to sign this amazing list :3

Zero Avenged December 31st, 2008 5:12 PM

Heh Count me in!
We have to show nintendo that we mean business

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ January 1st, 2009 10:12 AM

I really dont care if they do make a G/S remake or not its not hurting me in anyway, but it would be nice to see one though. Put me on the list

:t354:TG

Slowking rides Latios January 2nd, 2009 5:27 AM

yes please, G/S/C was the best game with the worst graphics, well, apart from RBY obviously. Remake now please.

Eon-Rider January 2nd, 2009 5:33 AM

Online petitions like this never work.

Devil's Guitarist January 2nd, 2009 6:00 AM

add me right away!.........

Mr. Epic January 2nd, 2009 9:19 AM

Who does not want a remake? So yeah I am in!

Tinhead Bruce January 2nd, 2009 10:32 AM

@ Eon: Well that's not very helpful, now is it? So many people spend time just doing nothing but blankly surfing the web, so it doesn't take much work to type up a few words petitioning for a remake. I certainly don't mind, and you'll never know if it worked unless you try it. If you have nothing nice to say, then please don't say anything at all, unless it is constructive criticism helping us create a better petition.

Now, @ the rest of the members of this thread: I loved G/S/C! Sign me up! 3 of my favorite pokemon, Houndour, Totodile and Togepi were all introduced in G/S/C, as well as shinies, and the idea of receiving more than 8 badges, or linking two different worlds together.

Bliitzx January 2nd, 2009 10:37 AM

I'll sign! I love G/S/C!

Dan :3 January 2nd, 2009 11:11 AM

Sign me up! I've been wanting one of these forever!

AdvanceMapper January 2nd, 2009 11:28 AM

I'll sign! G/S/C is the best generation ever!

Anteo January 2nd, 2009 11:36 AM

count me in, gold is the best pokemon game in my opinion, and Zel's remake hack is sooo good, I just gotta see how Nintendo can make it better :P.

G/S/C are wonderful!!!:D

Mewtwo'sBagel January 3rd, 2009 8:58 PM

I care.
Give me Johto or give me death!
add me.

Charizard88 January 3rd, 2009 9:43 PM

Hey just letting you know I am now here to help count up petition votes. :) BTW I am already on the petition VIA Pokebeach.

Bleuhorn January 4th, 2009 2:33 AM

I'm definitely hoping for this game so count my vote as well. G/S was one of the best experiences in gaming history. Having a remake with DSi's capabilities and worked around extras to the Johto/Kanto regions should guarantee a solid title. Bring us a proper remake, Game Freak/Nintendo.

Aitania January 4th, 2009 2:34 AM

Count me in as well please : D! <3 Johto

Yanmega Owns January 4th, 2009 6:17 AM

charizard88, nice to see you here. Don't worry I've got a giant list of everyone's names on every website. Everyone else, keep it up!

Melody January 4th, 2009 7:07 AM

I defninitely want to see a GSC remake in the style of FR/LG

Late January 4th, 2009 7:37 AM

Flandre Scarlet January 4th, 2009 3:37 PM

My post wasn't supposed to be helpful. It was supposed to be truthful. It isn't that I'm against petitions, it's just that this isn't official enough to actually do anything. Besides the last thing I think game developers would want is for thousands of people pestering them. Petitions are things that cause change. If you don't like something about your government, you start a petition about. Petitions to request a game is completely idiotic even if it is for good means.

I think it's obvious enough that Pokemon fans want a G/S remake even without a petition. Even I'd like one but I refuse to sign because I find online petitions stupid and meaningless.

Also, I found a webpage that made me laugh while posting this.

I'm talking about the total votes of all petitions on the sites that Yanmega made. but 70-80 votes on PC only sounds good.

Heart's Soul January 5th, 2009 9:56 AM

I'm in this. When we get 200 votes, I'll email Nintendo on a GS remake petition or Bob's Game thing.

Yes, I want a remake. Put my signature there please ^^

Yanmega Owns January 5th, 2009 3:51 PM

I've been away for a while sorry.

The Wave: We have over 400 names and we keep going!!

RukarioX: Don't. We have someone doing that and we're going to wait until 1st of April (at the earliest)

DarkCharmander: Serebii locked us twice. There is a rule about talking about a G/S remake (which is DON'T).

Keep it up everyone!

Shedinja8 January 5th, 2009 4:37 PM

Pokemon from Johto and the game itself was the best of the pokemon versions ever made. People seem to forget that.
  • When was the last time you heard someone brag about their Donphan's attacks and stats? NEVER!
  • Thier Unown collection? HARDLY!
Johto was the best from all the rest! It deserves a second shot at its former glory!

I SUPPORT THE JOHTO REGION REMAKE!

Because there's relatively little to discuss. It's a totally unplanned game that currently exists only in the minds of fans. I'm not some SPPF brainwashed zombie, but it makes a lot of sense.

Actually Donphan is quite respected in competitive battling and currently in OU.

randomspot555 January 5th, 2009 9:06 PM

It also doesn't help that GameFreak makes the games. And Internet Petitions and votes aren't done with any type of fairness, so they really don't prove anything. Remember when Stephen Colbert was in the lead to have a bridge named after him in Romania due to an Internet vote? That's how seriously anyone who matters will take these petitions.

Dukey January 5th, 2009 9:26 PM

Mmm yeah.
I'll sign the board

over 400? that's going very well then!

wow that's a stupid rule of serebii, but I actually understand them doing that.
I remember on gamefaqs, when Platinum was released in Japan, a massive (and with massive, I really mean ****ing massive!) wave of topics about a G/S remake flooded the platinum board. and now it has become a hatefull fad on gamefaqs, a single mention of G/S remake results in a flame topic. I'm surprised gamefaqs have NOT made this rule yet.

and even then, like randomspot555 said, there's a little to discuss about the G/S remake, so there's no point to speculate in the infinite until something is announced by nintendo.

nintendo? taking the internet serious? really, though I would like that that was true, I don't think that nintendo takes a single (pokemon) forum seriously. they will listen to it, they might look there, but I don't think they really takes the forums serious.
but I hope I'm very wrong...

Heart's Soul January 6th, 2009 9:30 AM

Just 1st of April? They will release a new game by then. Why not 1st of March? Earlier, faster, MD spin-off non-finished...

TwinBroz January 6th, 2009 10:57 AM

We truly do need a way of obtaining Johto without using Action Replay or hacking/using cheating devices.

What about people who want to re-experience the game all over again for fun. They wip out their pokemon gold/silver/cyrstal just to see that it won't start up or save due to the fact that over time, Gameboy color's games battery dies out.

This has happened to many, and supports the fact of using emulation illegally because its very difficult to find/buy old games as of today.

So with all of this into consideration, Nintendo could be making tons more of money.

Sparkle January 6th, 2009 12:18 PM

Add my name to the list :] I would love a remake, I think the Pokégear on the touch screen of the DS would be awesome.

Actually Gamefreak makes the main Pokemon games and Nintendo just publishes them. See here.
Maybe the users are right about being patient which I myself have a lack. I was also told that being patient is considered a test. I want a Gold and Silver remake too, but after I read this page I thought that making a video game is not that simple and takes time though it will probably take a little less time if and only if they are remaking this game.

true, but the funny thing is that Nintendo actually "owns" gamefreak. so the pokemon games are second party games or whatever it's called, and indirectly from nintendo.

and yes, making a video game is NOT easy. I know that by myself since I'm studying for programming, and I currently have an assignement to make a simple arcade game. well, even for an arcade game, it's pretty much programming and hard work. I don't want to imagine the programming of a full video game. O.O'

Nintedo is a pretty big company. I would not want to imagine how the programming is either it seem complicated after I read about Game Development.

I just want people to face reality here: If Nintendo doesn't approve, this isn't going to happen, period.Whether you like it or not. Sorry, that's life.

Just to let you know, there's a chance that the petition is going to make everything worse. Just pointing that out.

Ok, I'm about to post what I said on another website.

I'm getting really tired of all this,"online petition don't work" stuff. So what if they don't? There no point in not trying. To the people who signed do you think you've wasted your time? If so how much time have you really wasted? What 1 maybe 2 minutes? You've got to realize, if you believe there is no point in signing an online petition, then why do you bother in criticizing it?

If you believe people wasted time writing essentially one word, signs, then your wasting even more time in voice your opinion against something already in motion. Are you hoping that we're going to make an 180 and just turn and stop? Even you won't believe that someone would stop a petition because of criticism.

Now people have many logical points to why they believe this won't happen but they said it in a way as though they weren't talking to children but to people who have something they want and know it and are willing to try to do something about it. Then there are people who talk down to us with a couple of sentence that may have been explained (some not though) but with so much anger and disdain that it's really making me sick.

Of course I'm not saying you can't voice your opinion, everyone has a right to say whatever they want but consider what I've just said. We sacrifice little and if we don't succeed people may be a bit depressed but there not going to ball there eyes out for a month because of it. OK? Everyone got that?

(Now I'm talking again) This is how I felt when people said it's a waste of time. Even if this doesn't work, you'll have to admit, this is pretty epic that 530 people got together and signed this thing.

1) did i ever say it was going to be easy? I said we're going to be needed alot more than these signatures to get a remake, made.
2) Why post here, if you're going to be negative and pessimistic about this? It seems pointless to try to pull down peoples hope like that.

Nowhere in the rules does it say that people aren't allowed to post dissenting opinions. Of course, if the staff come in and say so, I'll gladly stop. But I don't see why actually discussing this is bad, but "omgerZ teH G0lD is r0xrz! i sizgn!" is good.

Let's just pretend that those of us who don't believe in this petition don't have anything inherently against the central idea, but more the method. Considering that online petitions are so easily exploited and thus aren't a reliable way of showing a demand and it takes almost no effort to sign one, something else needs to be done.

And the best way to do that is an actual letter, typed with a hand written signature. It shows that you took the time to put your thoughts onto a piece of paper, sign it with your name, and pay the postage. This takes effort, and shows that you'd back your cause, rather than almost passively signing some random online thing that may or may not be read by someone who matters.

Pokemon is a franchise that, if they thought they'd make money by doing X, they'd have X in production by tomorrow, and a plushie of it out next week. If there is a demand for a G/S remake, Gamefreak already knows it. If there isn't, they know that too.

And you say that people will just move on if it has no affect, but I've seen posters do otherwise. Many users of the Serebii forums declared 2008 a "disappointment" because of no G/S remake. And that's ridiculous, isn't it? Judging a franchise's success based on a game that was never set for release, or even set for production?

I don't want to turn into the Scrooge of PokéCommunity, so I'll sign.

However, I'd just like to tell you all that it'd be wise to listen to Gilgamesh. Although he may have made himself sound like a cynic throughout his critic-like posts, he does know what he's talking about. The chances of Nintendo taking something like this seriously is slim. Plus, we're a bunch of teenagers, and who listens to teenagers even if they're the target audience for the franchise? If I were Nintendo, I'd wait until Pokémon hit rock-bottom and then I'd release remakes of GSC to revitalise the market.

Also, you can all attack me and tell me to get the hell out because I don't support the idea, but you'll be wasting your time because Gilgamesh has already said all there is to say, which means I won't be replying to anything.

Heiheipig January 23rd, 2009 11:46 PM

Yay! G/S/C remakes! It's gotta be on DS though.
