=P

Mudkip has Swampert, making him the best in competitive battles... in fact, given the dual-types of the others like Blaziken, which isn't nearly as good as the Water/Ground combo, Swampert just blows the others away (and that's just on types; we aren't even counting stats).

My personal favorite though... eh, I'll throw Charmander the bone here. Why? I like Charizard, and I also like to give myself more of a challange when starting a new game in FR/LG... Bulbasaur and Squirtle (especially Bulbasaur) make it too easy.

ErickaVolt December 11th, 2008 3:59 AM

Torchic has awesome attacks. I also like it's last evolution, Blaziken. So Torchic is my choice.

Gelly December 11th, 2008 4:05 AM

Mudkip, because it is Water/ground and it's ever so cute!

My second chose is Squirtle, it's ever so cute, and i always pick him in LG/FR

The warden December 11th, 2008 4:21 AM

Charmander because charizard is stronger than both blastoise and venasaur and flying / fire means that it has very few weaknesses and is very efective at fighting plant + bug

shanecdavis December 11th, 2008 7:56 AM

Sorry, but being 4x weak to Rock and 2x weak to both Electric and Water, while that is only a few weaknesses, is horrible. Any good team is going to have all three of those attacks. While it has stronger Atk and SAtk base stats than Blastoise and Venusaur, its bad typing make it the weakest of the three.

otaku-dono December 12th, 2008 3:28 AM

Mudkip, although it is tight between it and Squirtle. Memes have killed its awesomeness though. ;__;

Candace December 12th, 2008 6:37 AM

I think Torchic was awesome =D I like Pokémon that turn humanoid

groudonlover December 12th, 2008 7:31 AM

I picked Torchic by 3 reasons:
1) It's Cute (i had no idea it evolved into Blaziken, and Blaziken is *strooong*
2) I got it in PMD, and i knew it ruled there =)
3) I always pick the Fire Starter!

I hate Water Starters, i don't really like Water Pokémons at all...

shanecdavis December 12th, 2008 9:22 AM

Mudkip is ahead by a landslide! Or would that be a MUDslide? heh

sonicisrad December 12th, 2008 4:46 PM

I tend to prefer the starter that has the best advantage against the champion for that game. So It changes. FR/LG, Either will do. R/S, Mudkip & E, Treecko.

Wallace's Pokémon know ice beam, don't they?
Therefore rendering sceptile somewhat useless?
I think swampert would be good against him, but it's your call.

Azonic December 13th, 2008 7:46 AM

Mudkip. It's the only OU starter out of the choices, and its adorable tew. :>

Shaymin 57 December 13th, 2008 7:53 AM

Turtwig is the best starter by far.

Barney. December 13th, 2008 7:53 AM

Oh...Prof. Davis -.- *Tuts*

Anyway I picked Torchic, just because Blaziken is pure pwnsome.

EDIT:

Mudkip? Steven uses Steel pokemon mostly, Correct?

Then surely a Fire/Fighting type is better...

Im hinting at Blaziken if you didn't know already...

shanecdavis December 14th, 2008 12:04 AM

Totally disagree. Swampert is a much better choice than Blaziken against Steven. First off, its use of Water, Ground, and Ice attacks make it just as offensive as Blaziken, but it is its MUCH better typing and MUCH better defenses that allow it to battle at a lower level than Blaziken.

On top of that, Swampert is one helluva competitive Pokemon too. Far superior than any other the other starters in the game. There is not a single other starter in the game (including DPP) that can compare.

.:Kanto:. December 14th, 2008 2:04 AM

wha?!? No Totodile? ='( I love Totodile..

Sebastien Loeb December 14th, 2008 2:06 AM

Mudkip, evolution of Mudkip (Swampert) is OU.

mtr12 December 14th, 2008 8:09 PM

Bulbasaur is my sentimental favorite. The first one I ever used, though I first beat the game w/ Charmander.

Ryusheika December 14th, 2008 10:07 PM

Definitely Charmander. I've always been a little biased when it comes to fire pokemon, and Charizard is just awesome.

Ninja Caterpie December 14th, 2008 10:24 PM

:\ Best would probably be Swampert, but my favourite is Sceptile. Maybe just the colour. :\

Outlander December 15th, 2008 12:17 AM

my favorite starters would probably be charmander or treeko but the best one is probably mudkip
