Aurastorm December 5th, 2008 12:35 PM

i know but isn't there some wifi rules that you can't use them unless the other player allows you to?

Le_Avatar December 5th, 2008 1:17 PM

Yes there is... But the Battle Tower allow them and there's nothing to do about it...

I personnally don't allow them in battles... like Hax moves and stuffs

TIC TAC December 5th, 2008 1:22 PM

I hate them, especially with hackers, they use no guard with them and use 0hk0 moves!

Aurafire December 5th, 2008 1:45 PM

I don't like them for the simple reason that they're banned from competitive play. I probably wouldn't use them even if they were allowed =/

World King December 5th, 2008 9:36 PM

The only time I hate them is when they use a GuardJask. Fast, 100% accurate, 100% PWN. That's just too much!

HalcyonXIII December 5th, 2008 11:06 PM

I like them outside of multiplayer battles, there is something amusing about scoring a rigid OHKO against a NPC that was giving you grief, but in a Wi-Fi battle? No, no way. They are cheapness incarnate, relying purely on luck to effortlessly defeat an otherwise competent opponent, rather than by utilising a little smart thinking and prediction instead.

There is nothing worse than getting beaten by an inferior team that you would have otherwise cleaned the floor, wall and ceilings with, due to abuse of OHKO moves.
...Or maybe there is.. I can't think of anything anyways ^.^

Caelus December 6th, 2008 12:09 AM

I don't really mind them. Sure, they can be annoying, but there tolerable, to a degree.
Some of my pokemon have that one ability that protects them from 1-hit KO's, so It's not a threat when I (rarely) have Wi-fi battles.

RanzAlton December 6th, 2008 6:49 AM

No. I even hate it a the Battle tower!! They make you lose!! They suck. Theyre all HAX.

airconditioning December 6th, 2008 7:37 AM

OHKO moves are stupid, yet completely broken. That's why they're banned.

Even if they weren't, 33% is far too low to rely on anything for.

Stronkadonk December 6th, 2008 9:38 AM

No, because all it takes is a Mind Reader/Sheer Cold Articuno to do that.
And if it has maximum defenses and HP, it can do a bit of damage, although 1 rock move will destroy it.

Joord December 6th, 2008 10:14 AM

I Don't Like them ,, They Totaly ruine My Fun battleing People And its Just No fun Fighting anymore

Evilyn December 6th, 2008 5:39 PM

No, just no. Especially in Hax Tower, oh wait.. Battle Tower.
The Pokémon there keep on hitting me with Sheer Cold/Guillotine(sp?)/Fissure and I lost a few streaks that were above 60 because of them. Hell, if my lead wouldn't be carrying Focus Sash I wouldn't even get past 20 >_>

Young Stunna' December 6th, 2008 8:28 PM

I think a lot of people don't allow them because there is a hack where the pokemons abillity can be changed so it never misses. For example, a Smeargle with this hack, Guillotine, Horn Drill, Fissure, and sheer cold, and an item to boost speed would be invinsible.

~Kavin~ December 6th, 2008 8:33 PM

The battle tower has made me hate them with a passion.................

Evil Sonic December 7th, 2008 1:29 AM

I was going to keep my Dewgong having Sheer Cold, but since that would be no fair (and OHKO moves have bad accuaracy) and it would be a cheap win too.

Andrew1989 December 7th, 2008 2:49 AM

it really doesn't bother me that much as they are there to be used aren't they?

If you ask me, there wasn't really a 'point' banning them altogether. Sure it ruins the challange..... but getting the chance to 'land' the move is what counts.

Ascaris December 7th, 2008 4:42 AM

Heck no. Sure, the accuracy of most are real low but in the rare cases that they do hit it's really unfair.

OHKOs are too risky anyway. No one in their right mind would use them in Wi-Fi.

LethalTexture December 7th, 2008 9:04 AM

I think only non-serious battlers like them don't they? After all, their banishment is a standard clause in competitive play.

^---That. Haha. I meant to mention that in this thread earlier in the week. OHKO moves are a standard no-no.

Matt-O December 7th, 2008 10:34 AM

OHKO moves suck. They are cheap, unfair, and incredibly irritating. One time in the battle tower I fought a Walrien that landed those moves three times in a row, so I lost to something that I should have easily smoked. That's why they aren't allowed in Wifi battles.

Detox December 7th, 2008 10:34 AM

Really doesnt matter to me since they hardly hit. But if I had to make a choice, no.

TwilightBlade December 7th, 2008 10:52 AM

No. It can completely turn around the battle in one turn, if lucky enough to hit. I don't like seeing such huge risks being taken.. Just win on pure strategy/effort, kk?

Blissey was obliterated by a Sheer Cold, nuff said. XD

Zelda December 8th, 2008 4:52 AM

Um...actually no one has ever used it on me b4...
