Supreme Dirt is Bringin' da Rain back to OU

Here it is, my Rain Dance team. Keep in mind a couple of Pokemon on this team are likely going to be replaced, and it needs quite a bit of work still. Also, I want it to be somewhat chess-themed.

Alrighty, here we go.

Qwilfish @ Focus Sash
Adamant Nature
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Swift Swim
-Rain Dance
-Waterfall
-Return/Poison Jab
-ExplosionSwords Dance

Not much to be said here. Idea is to set up rain and explode. Considering replacing it with Ludicolo. Return gets more coverage than Poison Jab, but Poison Jab gets STAB.

Swampert @ Choice Band
Adamant nature
Torrent
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
-Waterfall
-Ice Punch
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

Oh Ttar, I herd yuo liek waterfall? If I have to explain this set to you, gtfo, now. Anyways, covers my Ttar weak, and hurts Gyara quite a bit.

Slowking @ Leftovers
Calm Nature
252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 SpA
Own Tempo
Surf
Hidden Power (Electric)
Slack Off
Nasty Plot

Nasty Plot and lol stuff to death.

Steelix @ Leftovers
Impish Nature
252 HP / 140 Atk / 116 Def
Sturdy
Earthquake
Crunch
Explosion
Stealth Rock

Exploding Walls, ftw. Set up stealth rock and wall physical threats.

Nidoking @ Choice Specs
Timid Nature
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Poison Point
Thunder
Sludge Bomb
Earth Power
Surf

Choice Specs Nidoking... pwns.

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Modest
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hydro Pump
Dragon Pulse
Ice Beam
Rain Dance

This thing is the undisputed OU God of Rain. Not much to be said, though I may go physical instead. I don't like Choice Items much, which is why I went Orb. Also allows me to bring back the rain for ridiculously boosted Hydro Pump, up to 120 x 1.5 = 180 x 1.5 = 270 x 1.3 = 331. Probably going to be replaced. Too much can't be OHKO'd.

Needs more rain, admittedly.

Keep in mind this is a WIFI team. I cannot use Platinum moves because of this.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING imaginable crushes this team and it can hardly set up. Kingdra has 3 turns to use the rain, which is not good enough at all, even against the most defensively challenged of teams. So many simple sweepers just beat this entire team to death...I don't see it working.

The lack of a ground immunity or even resist not to mention four pokemon weak to the attacks makes your weakness to something as weak as flygon a little sad. If you can get this set up, Kingdra has a small chance to sweep, but Deoxys-A has better defenses than this team and far better offense for that matter.

I would offer suggestions but I'm not good at rain dance teams, but it would be largely useless anyways. Just scrap this team - it has almost nothing going for it.

Gyarados, kinda eats you, needs more HP Electric on slowbro.

No answer to tyranitar is bad too since steelix isnt gonna like CB Focus Punches or EQ's.

Please dont use nidoqueen like that, if you want something to do that 100% better use NidoKING.

Not to be mean but i really thing this needs a revamp and a bit more thought put into threats , since alot of the metagame does give problems >:

Your team does not stop Dragon Dance Tyranitar in the slightest. Once Qwilfish is gone, you're opening yourself to a massive sweep. It comes in on Nidoqueen locked in Sludge Bomb and gets a free Dragon Dance. It's not afraid of anything on your team, as it basically OHKO's the majority:

+1 LO Crunch vs. 394 HP/350 Def Slowbro: 97.97%-115.74%

+1 LO Earthquake vs. 404 HP/236 Def Jirachi: 117.82%-138.61%

+1 LO Earthquake vs. 322 HP/210 Def Nidoqueen: 165.84%-195.65%

+1 LO Stone Edge vs. 292 HP/226 Def Kingdra: 127.74%-150.34%

Your only defense against Tyranitar is Steelix, who takes a minimum of 63% from DD Earthquake. It also can't OHKO back (it does a maximum of 63% back). I'd consider adding a Swampert in, even if only just to handle TTar. CBPert hits like a truck and can benefit from the Rain to boosts it's already immensely powerful Waterfalls.

OBVIOUSLY.

Not a chance.

Definitely.

Swampert'll eat him, once I add one.

But Nidoking does not fit the role of Queen on my chess-theme.

Indeed. I kind of just threw this together.

Adding a CBPert ftw.

Alrighty, so far, I'm ditching Slowbro in favour of Slowking, Nidoking is going in over Nidoqueen, Jirachi is out and CBPert is in, and I'm dropping Qwilfish's Poison Jab in favour of Swords Dance, and Explosion in favour of a non-suicide normal move.

I mean that's cool and all, but you need to actually improve/put effort into this team or it will (or at least should) be locked. Replacing slowbro for slowking isn't really solving any problems (actually adding more since Earthquake demolishes you even more). The same can be said for the Nido swap...it actually hurts your team more since you're even more prone to getting demolished by fighters (which Nidoqueen actually handles pretty well) and you still don't hurt many OU teams with it.

Seriously, this team is going to need way more "reform" than it has gotten. A couple moveslot changes and swapping a couple essentially interchangeable pokemon isn't solving any of your team's problems, most notably lack of any powerful or fast offense to get rid of offensive teams in a hurry (given how poor the defenses of this team are), and as I just said, you don't have defense to back up your lack of offense. I mean what you're doing is kind of like trying to stop global warming by getting a different SUV - your changes are still ignoring the fundamental flaws in your team.

Get rid of Nidoking and Slowking for one thing. Both are slow by OU standards and don't hit hard. Slowking can't take most special hits since he's weak to the majority of them anyways. Steelix is also largely unnecessary since the point of Rain Dance teams is fast and powerful offense, and Steelix is just kind of dead weight (especially without the almost totally necessary Mence/Gyarados defensive support to cover its common weaks in the OU game). That leaves you with Quilfish, Swampert, and Kingdra. Put in capable sweepers (make sure one or two doesn't rely on the rain) so that your team can kill the opponent before the opponent kills your team.

I mean really, if you don't make serious changes now, you'd get more wins scrapping the team totally. I mean the whole point of posting an RMT is to get help with problems you've found during testing...this team hasn't even been tested. If you don't want people to say "scrap your team," you're going to have to put a little more into it.

Actually, I've spent much of the week testing new Pokemon and doing calculations, seeing what will work and what won't.

Yes, I know. However, Swampert and Jirachi aren't exactly interchangeable. Swampert actually is quite powerful. However, I see your point, and I'll be adding a few fast/powerful sweepers to the team.

Already being done, but I still have a few problems to work out before changing the first post.

I have been testing. But admittedly, originally the only thought I put into it was to conform to the chess theme.

So, I'm making many changes to my team, expect the first post updated by Sunday or so. And yes, the "OBVIOUSLY" was very necessary, as you compared the offenses of my team to an uber. For the record, Shedinja would have sufficed as a comparison, if only because it is entirely immune to ground, which rapes my team.
