Ultimate Monotype Challenge
Okay, folks. First off, this is the right section for this thread because said challenge is for all four Generations of games: RBY, GSC, RSE, and DPPt
So, instead of having a monotype challenge through one Pokemon game, this is meant to take place in all four regions, going through each generation of the franchise. Requirements
Rules
You can post your progress here in this thread, being as detailed or as vague as you like. And below here is the list of all our participants: Spoiler:
And, at long last, we have some userbars that you can add to your signature if you so desire. Whoa!
I'll take electric and start in yellow! |
Okay then. I'll add you to the list! It won't be long before you get your first Electric Type, hehe :D
I had some more time today(yay for no exams! XD) and I've went further in my game: -got through the Rock Tunnel without using Flash. ^^ -defeated Erika, evolving my Drowzee in the process. -went through the Game Corner, defeating Giovanni -climbed the Pokemon Tower, while grinning at the fact that Ghost didn't effect Psychic in this generation. =D -defeated Giovanni again at Silph Co. -had my battle with Sabrina, lasting longer due to her Alakazam using Recover too much >_< -entered the Safari Zone to catch myself an Exeggcute -got my hands on the Super Rod, allowing me to catch the game's remaining Psychics -received my Soul Badge after beating Koga in a match. =D Current Team: http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/121.png Level 26 -Surf -Thunderbolt -Ice Beam -Psywave http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/97.png Level 34 -Confusion -Hypnosis -Headbutt -Poison Gas http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/64.png Level 33 -Confusion -Recover -Seismic Toss -Psybeam http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/122.png Level 34 -Confusion -Barrier -Mega Punch -Light Screen http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/124.png Level 26 -Bubblebeam -Lovely Kiss -Lick -Pound http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/79.png Level 22 -Confusion -Surf -Body Slam -Earthquake http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/102.png Level 25 -Barrage -Hypnosis -Reflect Now off to Cinnabar Island! :D |
Hey! This sounds fun. I'll join up too!
As for the type, I wanna have fun.. I'll choose fighting and start in yellow, good pal! By the way, what's the minimum amount of time into the game before using your starter becomes too much? |
Okay, I'll add you to the list. Welcome! :D
Well, lemme see....*does mental calculations* Okay, so going through every generation, the longest it would take to get a type is after you have three badges. This is only the case in Red and Blue, where the first Fighting Type is Machop, obtainable in the Rock Tunnel. You don't have to worry about it as you're using Yellow, where Mankey can be found on Route 22. ^^ As for other instances, most can be found before the first or second badges, with just a small few requiring the two badges(ie. Electrike in RSE, Machop in GSC). So basically just use your starter until you reach this point, wherever that may be. ^^ |
Quote:
Heh, I picked yellow just because of Mankey. I wouldn't bother with Red/blue anyway, Yellow just beats it altogether. :P |
Hehe, I may have used Yellow. The only thing is, I don't have it, and I never have. :D
Plus Blue was my first Pokemon game, and one of my first games, period. So I just had to start with it. =D |
Alright, I thrashed Brock into the ground!
Start: Whizzed my way through the starting point and traveled to route 22 to catch me a Mankey. Easy capture. Afterwards I deposited Pikachu for being a sick, sick and fat mouse. Trained my Mankey in route 22 for a bit to level 8 until it learned Low Kick. After that I went my merry way into Viridian Forest, where all the poisonous weedles were taken out.. Oddly enough.. Mass insecticide? Defeated all the trainers with ease apart from the malicious Metapods. Arrived at Pewter city, went right to the gym and kicked the gym into a gritty mess! Brock tried to subdue me with his Onix and Bide but failed miserably for the Onix being such a heavy thing. Team so far: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby056.gif Mankey Level 13 Scratch Leer Low Kick Highest Stat: Attack - 30 Lowest Stat: Special - 16 One thing about Mankey: what's up with his back sprite? Does he have tentacles?! http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/8/88/Spr_b_g1_056.pngDamn.. Those are some funky arms! Next part will be done after Misty is beaten and the plot mildly thickens. I just realised that I'll only be able to get 4 Pokemon during this! I can't get Hitmonchan due to not having a link cable and wanting Hitmonlee anyway so that leaves me with a party that leaves much to desire. I'm guessing that this isn't going to be easy at all. |
Can i do fire in pokemon crystal? I just started my game over today and chose cyndaquill. might as well do this. haha. I will give it a shot.
|
Ikwaylx:
Aiyh, I forgot about that Mankey sprite. Yes, 'funky' is a great word to describe that thing. ^^ magix7: Well, in this challenge you're supposed to go through all the generations; not just Johto. And starting with Kanto. =P |
Quote:
The tentacles! Oh my the tentacles! Anyway, I'm in Mt. Moon at the moment, still thrashing and smashing. It seems too easy! But I know that the moment I reach Sabrina and Koga.... Oh, and Karate Chop? NORMAL? I always found it so blatantly stupid that it wasn't fighting in the first generation. Glad they changed it. |
Ah, yes. I'm a little better off at this point, seeing as Psychic is still the "unequivocal best type in the game" due to Dark types not existing yet. But once I move on to Crystal, that'll be changed. ^^
Another quirk I'm noticing now that I hadn't before is that NPC's with Fire Types will refuse to use Fire moves on my Starmie, XD. Even when their only alternatives are Roar and/or Growl. XDDD Likewise, in my battle with Sabrina she refused to use a single Psychic attack on my Kadabra. Instead, I was using Confusion while she Recovered each turn. My strategy was to wait for the confusion, and then use Seismic Toss once she hurt herself. It took me like twenty rounds before that actually happened, but happen it did. :D |
I'll take Normal and I'll start as soon as possible. If I can't find my red/blue/yellow, then I'll have to use FR/LG.
|
Quote:
Ok, I started in route... uhh.. 3? The battles were no problem to me whatsoever, easy peasy. However, I did learn Karate Chop; meaning I can now kick the hide of anything in my way. My Mankey is literally an unstoppable force. Mount Moon was pretty much the same basic deal, except with more random encounters. I accidentially used a poke ball on a Geodude and caught it.. uhh.. woops? Nonetheless I deposited it when I got to Cerulean. Found the 'Super Nerd' and what a title that is to call someone! Is it a geek? Is it a troll? NO! It's Super Nerd! Anyway, I took the Dome fossil because I like the name and I went for the exit. BUT WAIT Jesse and James show up to foil my plans. What should I do? Karate Chop FRENZEH! I defeated Meowth and Ekans in one, but Koffing managed to survive long enough to poison me.. Good thing I had antidotes or that would be quite a pickle. Arrived at Cerulean and went straight to the gym again. You guessed it.. I chopped them so hard, the water divided into two! Now, you may be wondering why I quoted Alakazam. Well, Misty's Starmie kept on using Harden. Seriously, no bubblebeam action here. I find it odd how bad the AI can be in this game, even if they sometimes use X items, they still manage to fail at exposing weaknesses. I found it to be a bit of a gip, as I could've been defeated if Starmie used bubblebeam. Oh well, I thrashed her into the ground (Or should I say waves?) Current team again http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby056.gif Mankey Level 22 Karate Chop Leer Low Kick Scratch Highest Stat: Attack - 48 Lowest Stat: Special - 26 Odd fact: Misty doesn't have red hair in her OW sprite, it's black. Huh... The Slowbro in Cerulean is replaced with an Electrode in yellow. Why? I have no idea. |
Hey can i do water on my red pwease..........
|
If someone chooses Grass, then I will take Poison. If someone takes Poison, then I will take Grass. This is an awesome idea and is indeed an ultimate challenge. A little bit of planning and research and I'll be ready.
|
Yep, I'll add both of you! And TheAbsol, more than one person can go for any one type, so that isn't a problem. Since you mentioned Grass first, I'll sign you up for that. Let you know if you want Poison instead though. ^^
|
I wont be able to play. I can't find my SP and even if I could, I probably wont find the charger. Sorry/.
|
Thanks for choosing for me since I was having a real tough time. I'll start tommorow.
|
Does it matter if I use my DS emulator for the Pearl one? I lost my pearl cartridge..
|
Curious: Would an emulator work, using no cheat codes, etc. Just playing it as it's meant to be played? Never owned one of the first generation games... No longer have my GBC to play my Silver, and My 3rd Generation games are missing lol >_<
If I CAN use an emulator, I'd go with Bug if possible, starting in Blue :D (Caterpie stage will be hard...) |
Found a very intriguing in game trade..
Cubone for Machoke.. Oh ho ho ho! Nugget Bridge and beyond I'm heading for Vermillion, Mankey is about to evolve into Primeape too as Mankey is currently at level 27. Saved Bill from the clutches of being a pokemon and got the ticket for the SS Anne. This'll lead to me being able to get cut who I'll teach to a HM slave. In all, I have planned out my party. It'll be as follows: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby068.gif In game traded Machamp http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby067.gif Machoke http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby057.gif Primeape http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby062.gif Poliwrath http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby106.gif Hitmonlee My HM slave isn't important, so there's no real need to say which one I'll use. NEWSFLASH: Right after I posted this, Mankey finally evolved into Primeape! Woohoo! Here are the thing's stats: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby057.gif Primeape Level 28 Karate Chop Focus Energy Low Kick Rage Highest Stat: Attack - 75 Lowest Stat: Special - 46 You know what the next generations could use? A fighting type that specialises in Special Attack. Next part will come after L.T Surge. |
I think I'll take part in this challenge using my Yellow version. As for the type it shall be...water! Oh I have a question, since I'm using Yellow version and I have to start with Pikachu, is it okay if I catch a Mankey to use instead of Pikachu until I get to Mount Moon to get a Magikarp?
|
Hello, I am planning to sign up for this challenge and I'll be starting in my Red version using my electric type team!!! I just got one question--once you beat the game and when i go play silver do I need to have the same type still or pick another diff. type...? otherwise I'll still do electric. =]
Skaterzpenguin |
Alright, I beat L.T Surge.
Sailors and high voltage ahoy! My journey continues by going through the Underground path. I found a young girl who was willing to trade a Machoke for a cubone! A sound deal; I'll catch a Cubone sometime when I reach Lavender Town. Obtained an old rod in town, but deposited it in the PC for being useless for anything but Magikarps. What a shame.. I could've had Poliwag (Will be Wrath) sooner. Not going to bother getting the bike, I walk fast enough to not care about it and the glitch to enter Cycling Road without a bike further promotes me to not bother with the bike. Entered the S.S Anne and - oh, you know what happened.. I kicked everybody in the nuts with no problem. My rival I destroyed using rage. In the first gen, rage doesn't stop. Rage will keep on being used until the Pokemon faints or the battle is won, so it's best when it's used wisely. Got Cut from the captain and taught it to my HM slave 'Bulbaslave' who will be my main cutter. As for Strength/Surf, they will be taught to my normal party as they're decent attacks in their own right. Anyway, went into LT Surge's gym and easily beat all the trainers. The puzzle was - err - easy this time! I got it straight away with no hitches; you could say it was shockingly lucky! (Ew..) L.T surge was a pushover with his Raichu. It fainted in two from my Primeape. I preferred the Red/Blue/Green battle with this dude over the yellow one by far. Anyway, my party now http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby057.gif Primeape Level 33 Karate Chop Focus Energy Low Kick Rage Highest Stat: Attack - 89 Lowest stat: Special - 55 Fun fact: Primeape's lowest stat is actually one point below it's second lowest: defense! Next part will come when I get to Lavender Town and I pick up my chum Machop! |
I would like to take the BUG challenge, Pokemon Yellow.
Once I get CATERPIE, do I ONLY use? Or can I use something as back-up til Caterpie evolves? |
I don't see anything wrong with using an emulator, as I've seen other threads like this where they were allowed. So I'll just edit that point into the first post. ^^
And Ruby-kun, you can go ahead and use that Mankey. ^^ As for skaterzpenguin: 1) I almost wanted to ignore you completely after that PM you sent me. But alas, I'm too nice for my own good. And for your information I didn't have time to go through everything here earlier. >_< 2) Yes, the point is to use the same type in each generation. So if you use Electric in Red, you must use it for the other games as well. And with that aside, I'll add the new names to the list. And expect an update from me sometime tonight or tomorrow. ~Zam EDIT: beat me to posting, Hair_of_the_Dawn. ^^ You can back up Caterpie for training purposes, but challenge the Gyms with only Caterpie/Butterfree. ^^ |
Butterfree?
Forgot Weedle is invisible in Yellow. Too late to change to Blue Version? |
I assume you meant you wanted to evolve Caterpie into Butterfree before you went against Brock. :P
And sure, you can switch to Blue version. I believe you'd be the 2nd to go with that one, after myself. ^^ |
Got through Rock Tunnel a bit ago..
Going Rocky style in Rock Tunnel Started in Cerulean and cut down the tree blocking the way to the east. Thrashed all the trainers with Primeape as usual and picked up a useless TM I will never, ever need. Outside of Rock Tunnel I decided to catch a Machop. Anything I would've used would defeat it, so I had to chuck balls at it. It took 6 tries to get it, in the end. Trained Machop up to level 24 or so and then entered Rock Tunnel. Got my first taste of the Psychic type as I fought Slowpokes. They made quick work for Machop so I had to use Primeape on all the slowpokes after that. I know that Pyshics will be a royal thorn in my side during this and the Slowpokes are pure proof of what is yet to come.. As I traveled through Rock Tunnel, my Machop was leveling pretty fast so while in the tunnel, it evolved! Now it's a beautiful Machoke and will be a secondary fighter below the in game traded Machamp. I skipped a few trainers so I could heal in Lavender and then returned, where - shock horrors! Primeape fainted for the first time! Darn! Oh well, I managed to get through Rock Tunnel without Flash, anyway. Flash is oddly realistic in Red and Blue. You can't see your surroundings but you can see a small amount around you such as the walls. It works way more realistic than the other games so far. Anyway, I'm now in Lavender. Ill do the next part once I finish Pokemon Tower and get Machamp/Poke Flute/Super Rod/Poliwag. It'll be a huge segment that's for sure! Current Team http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby057.gif Stallion - Finally nicknamed! Level 37 Karate Chop Focus Energy Seismic Toss Rage Highest Stat: Attack - 100 Lowest Stat: Special - 62 http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby067.gif Marcus Level 30 Karate Chop Leer Low Kick Highest Stat: Attack - 78 Lowest Stat: Speed - 38 |
Well I been playing for like 3 hours now and I have a pikachu, and a voltorb! I'm about to head in the rock tunnel, so wish me luck! ^_^
|
Alright, started on Blue version and currently have a lvl 25 Ivysaur and lvl 21 Weepinbell. A lot of the grass type Pokemon I'm not bothering on catching because I would end up discarding them anyway.
|
Okay, I've done a few things today. Deciding to not go through the Seafoam Islands, I just flew to Saffron and Surfed south towards Cinabar Island, XD. Once there, I put my two Water-Psychics to the training in the Cinabar Mansion.
Ironically enough, I came across the mighty Magmar twice!!! Annoying this is because back when I first played the game in the 90's, I completely missed Magmar, and when I actually did go looking for one, it took me like two days to find the thing! And now I find him twice, and I'm not even supposed to catch him, heh. But he did give nice experience to Slowpoke. It was easy enough deciding which of the seven not to use against the gym: Exeggcute. :D I didn't bother answering the questions, as instead I just swept all the junior trainers with Slowpoke. This is because I intend to make him a Slowbro before I reach Indigo Plateau. So, as I said before, Fire Types refuse to use Fire attacks on Water-Types, so Slowpoke had a blast! I then went up to Viridian City and challenged the gym there. I mainly used my Pokemon with dual-types that had the advantage: Starmie, Slowpoke, and my newly evolved Exeggutor! Defeating Giovanni was actually easier than I thought thanks to Exeggutor's Hypnosis and Leech Seed. =D And now I'm on my way to the next rematch with Gary, as I begin the trek up to the Plateau. ^^ Current Team http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/121.png Level 31 -Surf -Thunderbolt -Ice Beam -Psywave http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/97.png Level 35 -Confusion -Hypnosis -Headbutt -Dream Eater http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/64.png Level 34 -Confusion -Recover -Seismic Toss -Psybeam http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/124.png Level 28 -Bubblebeam -Lovely Kiss -Blizzard -Pound http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/79.png Level 30 -Confusion -Surf -Body Slam -Fire Blast http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/103.png Level 30 -Mega Drain -Hypnosis -Egg Bomb -Leech Seed http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/122.png [In PC] Level 34 -Confusion -Barrier -Mega Punch -Light Screen |
Already have my bug team planned (Considering there's only 6 bug types in the first generation LOL And scyther/pinsir are exclusive...)
Butterfree Beedrill Venomoth Scyther Parasect. Good news is: 3 of them are obtained early on. Bad News: Other 2 are pretty late :( Only bad thing about bug challenge is that I won't be able to use Butterfree in later generations :( (Fav. Pokemon) :P Btw, Since I'll use an emulator, I'll upload my gym battles to youtube, if I have the time :D And caterpie isn't hard to level up in the beginning, just have to continue running back and forth to the pokemon center :S (Tackle -> Tackle -> Tackle -> Evolve -> Repeat) :P EDIT: Something I just realized: No bug type can learn Surf until generation 3... And none can EVER learn Fly... are we allowed to use a HM slave for certain HMs if ours can't learn it? Fly I could understand a No on as it's just a time saver, but surf is a required skill in the games in order to move on :S EDIT2: Started my Journey. I chose Charmander as my starter so that rival would have squirtle. No advantages, no disadvantages to me. I did not battle anyone after that, ran from all wild battles, etc. First chance I did, I went up and caught a Caterpie. I promptly named her (since there are no genders, I will assign them :P) Celest. I immediately returned to town, went to the Poke Center, healed Caterpie, and put Charmander in the PC. I ventured into Viridian Forest, where the first pokemon I encountered was, would you believe it? A Weedle. I caught and named him Spitfire. After a long time training them up to a Butterfree/Beedrill, I was finally able to challenge Brock. I originally attempted to take out Geodude with Beedrill, but failed miserably, so I reset and tried again. :) Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAbykeErUR0 I got lucky with that critical hit and continuous missings from Onix, eh? I may just not upload videos, unless people enjoy watching em :P It's a bit of a hassle. XD Current Team (As Seen in Video): Celest (Butterfree) Level: 13 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/12.png Tackle String Shot Confusion Spitfire (Beedrill) Level: 12 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/15.png Poison Sting String Shot Fury Attack Debating Teaching Beedrill the Bide TM I just got from Brock :P Or Maybe I'll save it for Parasect XD |
Quote:
And it's interesting that you say that you'll be putting your battles on Youtube. Because I plan to do the same, XD. I have all my gym battles recorded, but I've yet to upload. ^^ |
Alright I made it to Celadon city and the first thing I did when I got there was I went to the department store!!! I like shopping so I bought ton of stuff and I found out that you can buy stones there, so I bought 2 of them because I can evolve my pikachu, and my eevee! I have 3 badges and pretty soon I will be facing Erika the grass gym leader, wish me luck!!!

Alright, I'm back.. I'll post my progress once I'm done with my coursework and whatnot. I got Ricky (Machamp.) So I should be fine from this point onwards!
|
Okay Update
Started game. Named player Red. Named rival Green. Started with Pikachu(duh!) and nicknamed it Pika. Trained Pika a bit. Got Oak's parcel. I know it's a short update... |
Ok, the progress I've made is pretty long so expect a sorta long post.
Ghostly Escapades I started out in Lavender and made my way into the nearby route 11, at this point Marcus was gaining strength. He'll make a great addition to my party in the future. Beat the school guys who hang out on the road. Not too hard to beat, wasn't much of a challenge as usual. Arrived in Celadon and deposited/sold a bunch of items I will never need for room. This is probably the only game where your PC is vital. I bought some revives, super potions, a Pokedoll and a water stone for later on. Afterwards I went into the game corner, but I had no intention to gamble, no sir! The first thing I did was rough-house the rocket member guarding the poster and opened the door to a hidden hideout. The acceleration tiles are so slow in this game! Agh! It takes forever to get from point A to point B in this dungeon; so damn annoying! Anyway, once I got the key I was confronted by Team Rocket for the second time with their still very weak party. None more than a pushover this time around! Thrashed Giovanni with Marcus and recieved the Silph. Scope, but I didn't have enough room at first.. Ugh. Taught Rock Slide to Marcus to counter the ghost types. I'll need even more type coverage for Agatha later on, but apart from that, Rock Slide will do for now. The Pokemon Tower was quite a bit harder than the other challenges I faced. The Pokemon were fast, powerful and nigh on annoying when Rock Slide misses. Damn that tower, I'll never, ever return! Destroyed the Marowak and was confronted by Team Rocket AGAIN after one small paragraph! However now their Pokemon have evolved; making them quite a bit tougher than before. Still a pushover. Finally, got a cubone after a long and hard search and traveled along route 12(?) in order to get to the trainer who wants it. Got Ricky! Also managed to grab the super rod but discovered that you can't find Poliwags with it.. All you can find is Krabby, Goldeen, Horsea and Shellder! Or at least I believe so, Poliwags are found with the good rod which is found in Fuschia... Right now I'm up to the Celadon Gym, and I'll record my progress again once I reach Koga and catch Poliwag and even get Hitmonlee too! Current Party: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby068.gif Ricky Level 26 HP: 90 Highest Stat: Attack - 77 Lowest Stat: Speed - 41 Karate Chop Leer Low Kick I love Machamp's yellow sprite. I'm doing swell so far. I'll also record my gym battle against Erika and put it up on Youtube for laughs and stoof. |
Yeah, I was thinking that your Fighting Types would have an annoying time in the Pokemon Tower. Good thing that Rock Slide TM was available. ^^
And I've uploaded my first three battles onto YouTube. I'll get the others up shortly. http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=lTTdJQZ36_8&feature=channel http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=v2pE0h6_6y8&feature=channel http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=RFvfwmE_5Cw&feature=channel |

Blog Update:
As I took off from Pewter City, I went through the pass that would bring me to the entrance to Mt. Moon. Taking out all the trainers along the way for the experience, Butterfree learned Poisonpowder. I then arrived at the PokeCenter in front of Mt. Moon. I entered, and began to fight the trainers on the first floor, when a Wild Pokemon attacked! It was a Paras. I promptly weakened it using Fury Attack with Beedrill, and threw a pokeball... Darn! It was so close too. I threw another one, and Shroomie the Paras was mine! I fought my way out of Mt. Moon and shortly reached Cerulean City. Although I could take her on right away, I decided to do the Nugget Bridge first, as you do in the future games :P After clearing the Bridge, Meeting Bill, and getting my Ticket, I returned to Cerulean to challenge Misty... Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYdzVwUzVzU Funnily, I leveled Beedrill up JUST to take out Starmie (to level 20 I mean), then realized Paras learned Leech Life at 20 too, so leveled him up as well, as a backup. Then Butterfree is just my support atm :P My Team is now as follows: Celest (Butterfree) Level: 20 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/12.png Confusion Sleep Powder Stun Spore Poison Powder Spitfire (Beedrill) Level: 20 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/15.png Poison Sting String Shot Fury Attack Twin Needle Shroomie (Paras) Level: 20 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/46.png Scratch Stun Spore Leech Life |
I would like to give this one a try. I've always wanted to do these one-type challenges~ I think I could take Normal-type and start with Pokemon Red. (Oh noes, I can't get Meowth in it! Well, I'll see if I get someone to trade me one. :3) I'm already scared of the battle with Brock... ^^"
EDIT: Oh yeah, the rules forbid trading. :/ I'll get Meowth in 2nd gen then. |
I got bored :O So ANOTHER "Blog" Today :D (Had intended not to do another Gym Today <_<)
After My Victory Vs. Misty, I set out to claim my trip on the S.S. that Bill gave me by going through a vandalized house. I battle the Rocket at the end, and grab a TM for Dig from him, which I teach to Shroomie for the next gym. I arrive, and decide to take a detour to the east to battle some trainers. After defeating them in battle, I gain a Bike Voucher from the Pokemon Fan Club president, and head onto the Boat. I defeat many trainers on the boat, and gain a bunch of items, but when one Ponyta proves too much for just 1 of my pokemon, I have to use all 3, but it came with a good end: Shroomie is now a Parasect! As I head for the Captain's chambers with weakened pokemon, I run into none other than my Rival! ARGH! A battle ensues, and I barely win. I meet the captain, who gives me the HM for Cut, which I promptly teach to Spitfire. I head into the Gym, and decipher the lock, and prepare for my battle with Lt. Surge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV1O0K0oGBA (Sorry about how I type it :P I like making people think <_<) Typing as if the character was me at times is fun XD Current Team: Celest (Butterfree) Level: 25 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/12.png Confusion Sleep Powder Stun Spore Poison Powder Spitfire (Beedrill) Level: 25 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/15.png Poison Sting Cut Fury Attack Twin Needle Shroomie (Parasect) Level: 25 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/47.png Scratch Stun Spore Leech Life Dig I MAY post another one... cause I'm extremely bored XD |
Updating again! Two new members to the party and Surf!
Fuschia! After my episode with Erika, I had to decide what to do next. Either I could cheat my way into Cycling Road via the glitch, or I could take the long route with sooo many trainers. I decided to go along Cycling road for this episode just for the sake of speed. Got poisoned so many times I had to reluctantly go to the Celadon store and buy 10 antidotes. Smog gets on my nerves consarnit! Reached Fuschia. The first thing I proceeded to do was obtain the Good rod from the nearby fishermun. I fished in his backyard pond and fished up a ripe and friendly Poliwag, who I huggled and welcomed to the team of wrestling wonders! I grinded Poliwag to level 25 on Route 10 to get him to become a Poliwhirl. When done so, I used my water stone and made my newest party member: WRANTHOR Come to be. Let's get ready to rumbllllllllllllllleeeeee! After that little grind, I bought a Soda for the guards and they agreed to let me in Saffron despite dangerous roadworks ahead. Those crazy guards; caring for the sake of their thirst than their community's safety.. Next, I arrived at the ol' 'Gym' where I decided to let loose and had a good clean fight with the trainers there. WRANTHOR wasn't too powerful in this gym for now since he's level 25 and all, but he'll improve. WRANTHOR's role will be Special support and the status problem guy. He has three moves that can cause Status problems and the proud owner of Surf. Anyway, after I wrestled the Karate Master out of his ring, I decided to pick Hitmonlee for my journey. I named him Hitomi. Why? It sounds awesome, that's why. If I got Hitmonchan I would've called him Hikari. Although that sounds more of a girl's name. Now that I have both Hitomi and WRANTHOR , I decided to head back to Fuschia and train in the grass next to the Bird Keepers near cycling road. Long, boring grinds to level 37 ensued; but it'll be worth it once I defeat Koga. As a little bonus, I decided it was essential for Wranthor to obtain Surf ASAP. Therefore, I decided to go have a stroll down the safari zone. Just because I had free balls, I captured a few Pokemon such as Pinsir, Kanghaskhan and Scyther. They'll never, ever see the light of day again.. It took me two tries to get to the winners' house. The first time, I was told to stop right IN FRONT of the entrance! Current Party http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby062.gif Wranthor Level 37 HP: 128 Ice Beam Surf Hypnosis Body Slam Highest Stat: Defense - 88 Lowest Stat: Special - 68 (It's still tougher than the rest so he can work with being a special fighter.) Fun Fact: Despite being labelled as a leader with the bold text and Impact font, he's actually the weakest in the party so far. However, he's still awesome for his type coverage and the abillity to Freeze, Sleep and Paralyze. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby106.gif Hitomi Level 36 HP: 91 Double Kick Meditate Rolling Kick Highest Stat: Attack - 102 Lowest Stat: Special - 38 http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby068.gif Ricky Level 41 HP: 139 Karate Chop Leer Low Kick Dig (For great ghost coverage!) Yes, I'm THAT bored, lol. Episode "blog" Number 4 time :D
After my Victory over Lt. Surge and gaining my 3rd badge, I left to go back to Cerulean City to redeem the Bike Voucher that the Pokemon Fan Club leader gave me. Unfortunately, as I needed 10 pokemon in order to obtain the flash HM, I decided simply to go through the Rock Tunnel without a map. After a hour of frustration, I found myself at the end, near Lavendar Town, and after a few more battles, I went to the PokeCenter for a much needed rest. I met my Rival in the Pokemon Tower, and easily defeated him. I then went down to Route 12 in hopes of catching a Venonat, then remembered that the grass was on the other side of Snorlax :( So I went back to Lavendar Town, and cleared the trainers to the west, reaching the next underground tunnel, and arriving in Celadon City. I then decided to take my luck at the Casino, spending a lot of my money left on gambling, spending about 4 hours, I finally had enough coins to buy a Pinsir! Creating the 4th member of my bug team, Clamps~ (Gogo Futurama Reference :P) After a little bit of training, he caught up to the rest of my team. I bought Butterfree a Razor Wind TM, and used my Body Slam TM I acquired earlier on Pinsir. After some arduous training and defeating her Jr. Trainers, I was ready to fight Erika: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odPGsjuycYQ Though I could've easily taken her out simply with Beedrill, I wanted all my pokemon to get in on the action. After the battle, I taught Shroomie Mega Drain from the TM reward. It's Ultimate because you have to go through all 4 generations with one type. Anyway, I'm uploading my battle with Koga now. It was a hard as hell battle.. Everything about it was harder than any other gym battle; check it out when it's done! |
ok ill start with Yellow then, and Ground Type. Changed my mind.

Someone needs to make banners for this, I'm no graphic artist but it'd be awesome to have our own banners for this thing. |
Ultimate Monotype Challenge - Grass - Badges: 4 Region: Kanto Log: Just to say I'm still here. I'll update every few badges so I'll be limited to updates. Yes, banners would be cool. I suck at that stuff myself though, unfortunately. >_<
And I'll add you to the list, Tony Montana. Good luck! =D |
This progress is bugging me
Started on Yellow's Mono-Bug this morning...
Having finished playing Track & Field for the NES, I sauntered downstairs. Ignoring my mother, as per tradition, I opened the door for an inhalation of something other than bad cooking. Strolling north to relieve myself, I had yet to begin when The Pokemon Prof. himself begins. Talking to me that is. Good thing, too, for the patch of grass I was gonna go for concealed a Pikachu burrow's front, um, doorhole? The Professor threw a Poké Ball and sucked it up like a shop vac. After a tense lolwut moment, I found myself infront of the Professor and beside "that kid" of his. OAK wanted me to take this brown furry critter for my own protection. Going for it, "that kid" slams me into a locker. Fortunately it was bound shut with a twist-tie... Seeing the trickle from my pinched nose, The Prof gave me that ironically colored Pikachu. "That kid" wised up the gall to challenge me to battle. I showed him my Pokémanz and lost to his EEVEE. Having called me a n00b, "that kid" ran off. If only was Sk8r McGee! Grrr! Having named my PIKACHU "SHAFTED", with my well earned freedom, I walked north like a soda chugging Forest. Forest Gump. Arriving at the 'big city', I went to purchase some Poké Balls. Unfortunately, a brown raccoon wearing a purple apron asked me to deliver a package to The Prof. Accepting on behalf of mum, I went down to deliver. On delivery, I received a cellphone. Sweet! Reading the instructions, I learn that in my possession is in fact a Pokédex. After buying 3 Pokéballs from the 'big city', I continued north through the Viridian Forest. On encounter of a Sixth Level Black Belt CATERPIE, I showed my moves. ^__^ And captured it with ease. Dropping METAPOD liek Mudkipz (whatever they are), CATERPIE evolved into a METAPOD. Using my now uber legend, I walked through the forest bopping other METAPOD on the head and showing losses to the Bug Catcher masses. With the exit ahead, my METAPOD evolved into BUTTERFREE. With one Tackle left, an abundance of Confusion, and a 'grey & gritty city' was just afew strides ahead. Healing at the Center of Pewter, I wormed my way into the Gym. On pwnage of the Leader, and with my Lv. 15 BUTTERFREE, I returned to the Center of Pewter and shafted SHAFTED into SOMEONE's PC. Saved game @ 1.38 |
Here is my video aboot Koga. It was a relatively difficult battle so I'm not looking forward to Sabrina one bit.

Yeah, I got hax'd by Venonat's critical there.. I should've used Surf or Hypnosis on the thing, but I was too shocked by it's power! That thing was powerful for a little bug ball thing. I was lucky in the end, without Dig I surely would've lost against Koga. Oh, and hey Matiass! |
Dude, i have a pikachu, magneton ,electrode so far
and im already at koga imean lol |

Beat Koga... with all my pokemon lower level than his... not sure how that happened, I WAS above everyone... *shrug* Finished it a while ago, but PC wouldn't load -.-
"Blog" Part 5: The Cheating Wheezing After defeating Erica, I headed to the Game Corner, where I defeated a Rocket Grunt, and gained access to their headquarters. I fought my way through, as usual, and reached their leader, Giovanni. His Kangaskhan gave me a little trouble, but in the end, Beedrill was victorious. I then left Celadon and went for the Pokemon Tower with my newly acquired Silph Scope. I fought my way up the tower, taking out the women and psychics on the way up. When I reached a ghost, the Silph Scope showed it to be Marowak. I defeated it, and the rockets on the next floor, and rescued Mr. Fuji, who was so grateful he gave me a PokeFlute that could awaken sleeping pokemon. I went south, to Route 12, and woke up Snorlax. It attacked in a rage, so I had Clamps defeat it. I obtained a Super Rod from a house on Route 12, so I would be able to catch a water pokemon I could surf on later. I soon reached a patch of grass to the left, and knew what would be waiting for me. After fighting off some Pidgeys and Bellsprouts, I saw it. Venonat, the final member of my team. It put up not so much of a fight, and soon, Funster was mine. After some more arduous training, she caught up to the rest of my team. A VERY Long and annoying trip through Route 12, and I finally reached Fuschia City, the site of my next Gym Battle. Luckily, bug types are effective against Poison, so I wasn't worried going into the battle. Although Fuschia is also the site of the Safari Zone, I thought I'd take my luck with the Gym first. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwkaNsZi6EQ I wasn't prepared for him to take out Parasect in one hit... and the whole Self Destruct at the end was messed up :( Current Team: Celest (Butterfree) Level: 37 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/12.png Confusion Psybeam Stun Spore Razor Wind Spitfire (Beedrill) Level: 36 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/15.png Poison Sting Cut Pin Missile Twin Needle Funster (Venomoth) Level: 36 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/49.png Tackle Stun Spore Poison Powder Leech Life Shroomie (Parasect) Level: 36 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/47.png Scratch Spore Mega Drain Dig Clamps (Pinsir) Level: 36 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/127.png Vicegrip Seismic Toss Guillotine Body Slam |

Well, I started my normal-type challenge already anyway, even though I'm not officially added to the list. I named my charater Red and my rival Blue (accidentally, later I realised that it should have been Green. :/) Chose Charmander as a starter, caught Pidgey (lv 2) and Rattata (lv 3). The small Pidgey kept fainting all the time, so when I soon encountered level 4 Pidgey, I captured it and threw the smaller on on my computer with Charmander. :P I trained Pidgey and Rattata a little more and then went to capture a Spearow (lv 4). (the more the merrier! ^^) I trained all three for a while, and entered the Viridian forest when all of them were on level 8. Went through Viridian forest, returned to defeat my rival, trained at Viridian forest (and encountered at least 5 Pikachus in the process :O). I thought I could finally try challenging Brock when my Pokemon were all lv 12. Surprisingly, I succeeded on the first try. With Geodude, I used Pidgey to use Sand-Attack as many times as possible so Geodude wouldn't do much damage on me during the slow match. Then I used Gust and changed to Spearow when Pidgey's health was low. Spearow used peck until Geodude fainted. With Onix, I made Rattata use Tail Whip as many times as possible, and then just kept attacking, even if Onix used Bide. Because of that, Rattata fainted, but Pidgey finished the job and Onix was defeated as well. I continued my journey on Route 3 and defeated all trainers. I started to search for Jigglypuff from the grass, I just couldn't find one. Later, when all my pokemon had leveled up once during the search, Jigglypuff appeared. Since my pokemon were already on level 15 and it was only lv 3, I couldn't attack it but kept throwing Pokeballs until it stayed in. I trained Jigglypuff a little after this. Play time: 2:59 My current team: Jigglypuff level 6 http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/2/2f/Spr_1b_039.png Sing Rattata level 15 http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/9/95/Spr_1b_019.png Hyper Fang Tail Whip Quick Attack Tackle Pidgey level 15 http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/c/cd/Spr_1b_016.png Gust Sand-Attack Quick-Attack Spearow level 15 http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/8/81/Spr_1b_021.png Peck Fury Attack Leer Growl |

And that is exactly how I always used to battle Brock, regardless of whether I had a monotype team or not. XD Pidgey's Sand Attack just seemed to be the best way of outsmarting those guys. ^_^ |
It appears that there is NO way to lose against Sabrina; none whatsoever thanks to the AI this game employs. I find it an insult to the difficulty of Koga that this match was so easy!
I'll upload it later, until then I'll continue until Cinnabar. |
I'll do fire please. Just one thing, I may not be that active. My school has a lot of homework. Plus, being 12, my attention span is low...
EDIT: Started with Charmander. I fought Brock at level 15. Geodude... he really embarrassed Brock, seriously. He did nothing to me and just level me up to 16. Onix fell easily, but he did leave a mark. I survived with 5hp, he could've of killed me but luckily the AI seemed to want me to win. I survived the battle by only using EMBER for the whole match. Fire beats rocks? Man there's a problem with the system. |
i would like to do flying in red pls. luckily, i'm sick' so i will have a lot of free time=D
|
Yay! I caught a Geodude and got through Mt. Moon. Also Beat Rival Gary on Nugget Bridge and I'm struggling to beat Misty.
Team: Grounder(Nidorino) Lv 22 Leer Poison Sting Horn Attack Double Kick Nidorina Lv 20 Growl Poison Sting Scratch Double Kick Roll (Goedude) O_o Lv 20 Tackle Defense Curl Rock Throw NOTE: If you wonder why I didnt use my Moon Stone On Nidorino/Nidorina, it's because Misty would inflict serious damage with Bubblebeam, as Nidoking/Nidoqueen are Ground-Type. |
Okay another update.
Idecided to go ahead and use my Pikachu until I get a water Pokemon. made it through the Viridian forest. By the time I got out Pika was level 15. I went and healed Pika. I bought about 5 potions. I went to the gym. Defeated the gym trainer. Then somehow beat Brock on my first try. Obtained the Boulder Badge and Bind. I went throught the route up to Mount Moon trying to avoid all the trainers possible. When I got to the Pokemon Center I bought a Magikarp and named it Gyara. I kept Pika to help raise Gyara. Team: Magikarp/Gyara lvl-12 -Splash - - - Pikachu/Pika(temporary) lvl-19 -Thundershock -Quick Attack -Tail Whip -Thunder Wave |
on second thought, pls change me to poison. tnks

Finally, I decided to evolve Nidorino and teach him Mega Punch. I trained it for a while and defeated Misty. Ill add the link in another post.

Okay, my first blog in a while.
Sabrina the Teenage Twitch Alright, after my awesome fight against Koga, I decided to take it easy and travel along the boardwalk to the east, fighting and grinding against trainers in preperation for difficult fights ahead. Never have I seen such a huge increase in the levels between the first half of the Gym Leaders and the second half. To be honest with you, I like that!In Saffron, I noticed that the Silph Co. Building had no guard in front. Because of this, I took up the oppurtunity and entered. To my 'surprise', there were Rocket Grunts inside! Now, I didn't exactly go on every floor, so I missed a load of Rocket members. It's no big deal but I could've used them for training now that I look back: Bah! I also found a room with a TM in it; none other than Earthquake! I drooled in adorement at the TM and replaced Dig with it immediately to Ricky. Maybe I should've taught it to Hitomi or Marcus? I say who cares? Gary decided to be a pain and show up, waiting for me like a jerk. I gave him a sound beating to pay him a lesson... A lesson IN PAIN! I smashed him, rolled him up and tossed him aside like a paper ragdoll. No rival will take away my right to be awesome with fighting types! All that aside, once again I go up and find Team Rocket in the way. Yeah, thanks, I pushed them away and went over to Giovanni who said that he'll teach me a lesson in pain.. I just said that: PLAGIARIST! I got mad and Earthquaked him to death. All of his pokemon were easy to defeat, so it wasn't a big deal or anything. When that was all done, I got a Master ball for my efforts from the chairman of Silph. What a kindly old fellow, too bad I'll never get to use it... ever. I left the building, entered the gym and found the trainers..... ... kinda easy. Wow, I never thought I'd say that, but it's true. I thought Psychic types were threats, but I manage to destroy the Abra line in one hit and the rest weren't very strong at all. The only challenge were the channellers inside the gym with their Gastlys and Haunters; I still can't believe that they only have 3 ghost types in the first generation. Sabrina was, well.. Watch this video, you'll see what I mean http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cS5P54M05jY Pack your Marshmallows, we're going for a fiery match! Yeah.. Sabrina really was surprising, but I'm proud of my Marshbadge. One question... Why Marshbadge? What's so psychic about marshes? Am I forgetting something about marshes here? Ugh, that out of the way, I travelled to vermillion city and spelunked through Diglett cave in order to reach Pallet town fast and easily. When in Pallet I took the mildly short surf down; all the while pitching fights, killing jellyfish and MORE! It was fun apart from that one trainer with 6 bloomin' magikarps. There's ALWAYS one.. In Cinnabar, the gym was locked so I had to go into the Pokemon Mansion to look for a key. Damn, the wild battles are way more common here, it's nuts. After finally reaching the key and finding no trace of Dittotic life around, I escape roped my way out, went to the mart to buy 'burn heal'. And proceeded to purposely answer every quiz wrong! Tm28 REALLY IS Tombstoner! The battle with Blaine was easy but it peeved me off. I was going to use Thrash, but I accidentially used Seismic toss! ARghrgrghh! Here's the video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Vq4JeCK5vOo Current Party: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby057.gif Stallion Level 47 Karate Chop Screech Seismic Toss Thrash Can't be bothered with talking about the highest stat anymore, too tedious.. http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby062.gif Wranthor level 48 Ice Beam Surf Hypnosis Body Slam http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby067.gif Marcus Level 47 Karate Chop Seismic Toss Strength Rock Slide http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby068.gif Ricky Level 47 Strength Low Kick Seismic Toss Earthquake http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/gby106.gif Hitomi level 47 Double Kick Meditate Rolling Kick Jump Kick And that's all for now! Next segment will come when I reach the Indigo Plateau and then a Youtube Bonanza! |
When the Americans translated the original Red and Blue, they somehow mixed up the names of Sabrina and Koga's badges. "Soul" was supposed to be Sabrina's, and "Marsh" was meant for Koga. I think you can see that these fit better. =D
Good luck on your next badge! :D I'll just about ready to challenge the Elite Four. But I intend to get that Slowpoke evolved before I begin. Will update when I get through it, including videos. ^_^ |

I'm at the Elite 4! It's time for an epic battle and the final part of this saga of the Macho fighers!
Giovanni with cheese I felt like I needed a bit of a grind, so I went back to the sea routes and the Silence Bridge to fight all the trainers I missed earlier on when I went through the route. This managed to, in all, get me to level 50 and 49 in total. I was far beyond strong enough to destroy Giovanni in a flash! A long walk to Viridian, but when I got there I decided to deposit my items for later when I reach the Indigo Plateau, including TMs and key items.. The gym wasn't too hard, and it had a bucket load of trainers meaning a hefty amount of experience was to be had! Once again, too easy for this. I think I'm just too good for these dudes! Giovanni wasn't much of a challenge, I defeated all but one of his pokemon with Hitomi. The reason for that was because he was overlooked as crap during his last 3 battles, so I decided to give him a chance for once. He did well. Here's the video for your Gio needs! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tK0yiGwNeDI Now that I have all 8 badges, I went to the nearby route and encountered my rival! Not again! Agh do I hate him.. Well, he destroyed 2 of my pokemon which makes him quite the guy. His team is getting more challenging to defeat, the next time I battle him won't be pretty... Well, not much left to say apart from Victory Road. Victory Road was a real pain in this version. The strength puzzles are bad enough but they have wild pokemon and trainers too. Moltres! Moltres was destroyed within two hits; dissappointing for a legendary bird. It should've thrashed me, but it did the oposite. What do you think I should teach to my fighting types before I go? Please suggest some movesets! I'd be thankful to a great degree. Next segment will be a review of all the Elite 4 battles and the introduction to the second generation! |
Well you have Ice Beam, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Surf. I'd say you're good to go.
|
I think you should teach them a move thats good against agatha, like psychic, since she is using poison and ghost but maybe earthquake will be ok since her Gengar don't have levitate.

Nevermind, I took over Body Slam. Sleep on cue is too handy compared to a small chance at paralysis; in fact, I might change Hypnosis to Thunder Wave if it can. (It can't.) _______________________________ Anyway, I'm getting started now, I'll upload all my stuff to my youtube so keep checking up on it. Wish me luck! Newsflash: I lost against my rival! AGGH! His Alakazam was the one that destroyed me in the end, he KO'd EVERY pokemon of mine in ONE hit. I tried stalling it, but all I received was a never ending barrage of Psychic. I'm serious, I don't think my rival's PP ever runs out. Because of this epic loss, I decided to train, train train. Doesn't this sound like a Rocky movie? |
Hey there its me again! I just beat the celadon game corner underground and I save mr fugi. Now i'm headed to the bike path and heading towards Fuschia city. I have 4 badges and have thesel pokemon still... (I will be making a video when i'm at the elite 4) ;]

Okay, continuing my Normal-type journey! I had planned to use Jigglypuff in my team, not Clefairy (one pink fluffy creature is enought), but after doing some quick research over the internet I changed my mind. Clefairy line just has better stats, better moves, and cuter sprites in R/B. ;) So bye to Jiggly~ I contunued through Mount Moon while searching for Clefairy. When I found Water Gun TM, I taught the move to Rattata, which helped me a lot with all those Geodudes. Eventually caught Clefairy and go through the cave. I beat my rival again (Pidgey evolved!), defeated all trainers before Bill's house and visited Bill. Just before I was about to challenge Misty, all my pokemon grew to level 20, which means that both Rattata and Spearow evolved! Misty's Staryu was no mach against my Fearow, but Starmie surprised with its strong Bubblebeam, which caused my Pidgeotto and Clefairy to faint. But Fearow got the job done again. ^^ After defeating the Rocket I taught Dig to Raticate. After defeating all trainers on S.S. Anne I encountered Blue again. He was surprisingly weak this time! (If he has over 40 pokemon, why not use some of them to make his team stronger...?) Well, cured the Captain (I still don't understand how rubbing shoulders helps a seasick person...) and got HM Cut. I taught Cut to Charmander, went through Diglett's cave, caught a Weedle so I had 10 pokemon and got HM05, Flash. Surge! |
I was just wondering. In GSC, do we have to beat only the gym leaders of Johto and the Elite Four, or also the gym leaders of Kanto?
|
hey i uploaded the two incredibly-easy-battles against Gary and Lt. Surge

"Blog" 6: Sabrina... The Teenage Witch (I so stole that :P)
(As these next gyms take place in quick succession, gonna do all 3 now.) After Defeating Koga, I taught Funster the Toxic TM that was given to me, and it was time to fully explore Fuschia City, and the Safari Zone~ After an annoying run through there, I finally found the Skull Bash TM, which I taught to Spitfire, I also recovered some Gold Teeth I turned in to obtain the HM for Strength, in which I taught to Clamps. I finally reached Saffron City, and got the Psychic TM from Mr. Psychic, and promptly taught it to Celest. I then went into a place I thought was a gym, but instead, they offered me a fighting pokemon for winning, which I turned down. I then went into the Silph Co. and noticed it was occupied by Rockets... which meant it was time to go to work! I found a Take Down TM inside, and decided that Skull Bash was useless, and replaced it on Spitfire. When I entered one portal, my rival was waiting for some reason... weird. I battled him and won, but not before he knocked out Spitfire. I continued on in search for the cause of Team Rocket being here. A nice man on the floor my rival was on gave me a Lapras, whom I would teach Surf to and use as my HM slave, in place of the creepy Psyduck I caught in the Safari Zone. I found a TM for Swords Dance, and taught it to Clamps, finally replacing the move I consider to be cheating, Guillotine. At the top, I found the chairman of the company being harassed by that sleezeball Giovanni. After beating him, the chairman gave me a Master Ball... something I'll never need to use. Now it was time to go beat up Sabrina for my 6th badge. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PqLDzFOcXk Current Team After Sabriba: Celest (Butterfree) Level: 41 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/12.png Psychic Psybeam Stun Spore Razor Wind Spitfire (Beedrill) Level: 41 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/15.png Take Down Cut Pin Missile Twin Needle Funster (Venomoth) Level: 41 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/49.png Psybeam Stun Spore Poison Powder Leech Life Shroomie (Parasect) Level: 41 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/47.png Slash Spore Mega Drain Dig Clamps (Pinsir) Level: 41 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/127.png Vicegrip Strength Swords Dance Body Slam "Blog" 7: The Bane of Blaine After beating Sabrina, it was time to surf down to Cinnibar Island on my Lapras, which involved first getting TO Cinnibar, which was not an easy task. I chose to backtrack to Fuschia city and surf south of there. After fighting through the Seafoam Islands, I was closer to Cinnibar. I arrived in Cinnabar only to find the Gym Locked... Naturally, I went into the nearest building hoping to find the Gym Leader, and found myself in the Pokemon Mansion. After fighting numerous Burglars, I found a TM that contained Solar Beam. Excited, I taught it to Celest, replacing the Razor Wind skill I had originally given her. Nearby, I found the Key to the gym. Inside, I answered some weird quizzes, and soon I was face to face with the 7th gym leader. As he was a master of fire Pokemon, I was worried that he'd roast my bugs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27f6_leIi8c I was right to worry, it was a close match. I got lucky with that Psychic Critical at the end :) Celest (Butterfree) Level: 43 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/12.png Psychic Psybeam Stun Spore Solarbeam Spitfire (Beedrill) Level: 43 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/15.png Take Down Cut Pin Missile Twin Needle Funster (Venomoth) Level: 43 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/49.png Psybeam Stun Spore Poison Powder Leech Life Shroomie (Parasect) Level: 43 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/47.png Slash Spore Mega Drain Dig Clamps (Pinsir) Level: 43 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/127.png Vicegrip Strength Swords Dance Body Slam "Blog" Part 8: Bringing Giovanni to the Ground After my victory over Blaine, only 1 gym leader remained, and he was near home! Off to Viridian City I went~ After an annoying 20 minutes, I reached the gym, and fought the trainers inside. I arrived at Giovanni, and despite beating him twice already, he insisted that we fight once more for the badge. So we did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDB2uRj4yrs I was lucky that all those Horn Drills missed, haha. I knew what was next: Victory Road, and then the Elite 4. So I prepared to set out, and wondered why there aren't more bug pokemon in the world :( Current Pokemon Now: Celest (Butterfree) Level: 44 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/12.png Psychic Psybeam Stun Spore Solarbeam Spitfire (Beedrill) Level: 44 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/15.png Take Down Cut Pin Missile Twin Needle Funster (Venomoth) Level: 44 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/49.png Psybeam Stun Spore Poison Powder Leech Life Shroomie (Parasect) Level: 44 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/47.png Slash Spore Mega Drain Dig Clamps (Pinsir) Level: 45 http://www.smogon.com/download/sprites/rb/127.png Vicegrip Strength Swords Dance Body Slam Ok, so I'm now up to Victory Road, fun stuff. The Journey to the Top is a Rocky Road : I started my adventure doing what no one has dared to before, I began my monotype adventure using the Rock type. After choosing Bulbasaur as my starter Pokemon, I began my journey through the various routes taking out my opponents with ease. Brock was a piece of cake and fell hard to my Vine Whip and Leech Seed attacks. I made haste to Mt Moon where there awaiting my arrival was a plump Geodude. I battled the Geodude and it was quite a battle, finally I was able to haul a Pokeball at him capturing him on the spot, I named this Geodude, 'Rocky' inspired by Rocky Balboa (also because he is a rock type and rocky was the obvious pun to include in my team). I have only recently began training Rocky against numerous trainers inside and outside Mt Moon defeating them with ease. Rocky takes hits hard and punishes them back using his fists of solid rock. Current Team : Rocky Lv.14 http://archives.bulbagarden.net/w/upload/4/4c/Spr_1b_074.png Tackle Defence Curl Top Stats Attack : 27 Defence : 37 |
Finished Kanto :)
