Train Rides...
Have you ever taken a long trip on a train?
|
Indeed I have. I've gone from Plymouth to London, and then back, and I've had a few train trips on my holidays in Sweden. I've had to get trains from Copenhagen Airport (yes, I know it's in Denmark - it was cheaper :<) to Helsingborg, and from Gothenburg to Helsingborg.
|
I've never ridden on a train before, but I'd like to do it someday.
|
Yeah, I took a trip to New York City on a train. It was only a couple hours though...And nothing incredibly spectacular. It reminds me of being on a bus =P
|
The longest I've spent on a train would be about... 2 hours, from New Jersey to New York. It wasn't so bad and I actually enjoyed the trip. Train and bus rides generally give me the chance to space out and cosily enjoy the journey, especially when it's pretty lengthy.

My grandfather loves trains, so I've been on several train rides. The longest one was Chicago down to New Orleans (before Katrina)...and then the train derailed at some point near Mississippi, and we ended up taking a bus ride for the rest of the way. |
I've taken hundreds of short trips.
But the longest I've ever was here to London, which I've done quite a few times now. Only like 1-2 hours though ;( |
I have. From Broadstairs in Kent to London. It gives me the chance to actually get somewhere on my DS games XD. No seriously, I like long trips because it gives me the chance to relax and do what I want. I usually read (if there is a book I'm reading) or play my DS.
|
I've mostly ridden on like the Subway in NYC and the street cars in New Orleans, but on a trip up to NYC I rode on a proper train.
|
A while back, I used ride on the London Underground every other week for a couple months. The journey took roughly an hour and a half. Don't ride trains much nowadays, though as I normally don't have to travel far.
|
A three-day train ride from Cincinnati, Ohio to Rue Durham, Ahuntsic (Quebec/Canada)
It cost around $400 Canadian, but I got to hang out with my buddy along the way. ( we had the entire car to ourselves :D ) Luckily, I had my laptop with me and the train had Wi-Fi. Purpose of the trip? I have family in Quebec, and they said I could bring my friend with me. |
I have never even been to a train station, let alone on a train!
I've driven by the local one, but it's small and basically cargo-only. It kind of depresses me a little, since I think it would be neat to ride a train. I want to ride a German train, especially, since all my friends who've traveled there say they are extremely efficient and nice. I think it would be fun to travel that way and it's certainly something I want to do at least a couple times in my life. |
I rode on trains at least twice in my life and I don't like it.
|
I always wanted to ride a train, but the only train close to my home takes forever to come back (It's one of those old, old train).
I was close to riding it, though. |
Way back when I was in 8th grade, our class took a three hour train ride aboard Amtrak for a field trip. The only other time I've been on a train was on the day after Thanksgiving this year, on our public transportation's new light rail. It was only a 15 minute ride, though. I'd like to ride again sometime.
|
I want to, but I am scared of being bored to death.
|
i actully havent ever been on a train, but iv traveled many places by a car
|
How's from Swindon to London sound?
It was boring, but I had my phone. Otherwise I would've died. |
No, never. D:
I've been on subways and streetcars and monorails but as far as I can remember, I haven't been on a normal train. XD; When I need to go somewhere farther away, buses are cheaper so I use them. :/ |
Monorails 'n' such, sure, but good ol' long train ride? Nope, never been on one.
|
I've been on two train rides ever. (Four if you count return :P)
From here to Manchester and From here to London London was the longer and better one but being in Manchester was much better. |
Yes. It lasted for two days and was a wholly unpleasant experience.
|
I wouldnt say the train was long. It depends on what you count as "long". I have been on a train to the Grand Canyon and back and one in Maine.
I love trains so I'm always capturing pictures of it. |
It's hard to believe some people have never taken a train yet. :O I do so every day. It takes 28 minutes or so, so I read, draw or do other things (except rereading my schoolstuff)
The longest trip on a train I have taken was from Brussels (Belgium) to Bern or Zürich (can't remember) (Switzerland). It was one of those trains that you had to sleep in. x3 (Took us a little less then 10 hours to do the trip). The second longest would be from Brussels to the south of France (6 houres). Dans le TGV~ And the third longest would be from Brussels to London (2 hours and a bit) with the Eurostar. So you could say I'm quite familiar with the train. XD |
Do subway trains count?
If so, every ride I've ever made to Coney Island has been unbearably long. |
