First Pokémon game you played?
Mine was PMD1 Red...
Not the best game you could start with, but i would never have played it if it weren't the last Pokemon game left in a shop closing next week :P |
It was Pokemon Red, i got a Gameboy Colour with Pokemon Red and Pokemon Yellow for christmas the year they came out, and loved it.
My dad's friend's son gave me his old gameboy color with Pokemon Blue, and thus began my near 10 year Pokemon journey. XD
One day I had an urge to play a Pokemon game, so I bought Pokemon Emerald and I'm glad I did.:D
My parents gave me a gameboy color and pokemon yellow, and I've loved the series ever since.
Yellow was the first game I played, along with the Pokemon GBC that came with it. Ahh, good times.
I said silver because that was the first technical game, but really my first pokemon game was pokemon pinball. anyone remember that?
It was blue version. my cousin got me hooked when I was only six, both to the games and the show.
Wow, this just made me realize that it's almost been ten years. |
Pokemon Yellow....i still remember the day when i got my GBC and the game....total addiction haha
Red, back in 1998, good times.
Mine was Red. My friend let me play it when he got it, and then I got both Red and Blue along with a GBC soon after. I've been playing ever since.
My first game ever was Red, back in.. 1999, I think, maybe earlier. I swapped with my sister, because she was crying about getting Blue when red was her favourite colour. Then I saw commercials for the "special pikachu edition" and begged my mum for that, so in the end, I caught 'em all. XD
Pokemon Red/Blue I can't remember. :D
My first game was the Blue version. I remember having trouble getting out of my house at first (laame); that and a ton of hours spent with my friends chattering over these games. Aaah, good times.
Yellow. There was a great feeling of pride when you beat the first Gym using your Pikachu. =D
reeed, I would always play my brothers copy when he wasn't home and wouldn't save it- never got much further than Lt. Surge
my first was pokemon blue
Pokemon blue was my first game. And of all the following games, the only one I haven't played is red.
My first game was Pokemon Yellow, well it was my brother's game that he claims I lost. This makes me think that if Pokemon's been out since 10-11 years and I liked Pokemon since it came out soooo I think I was about 3 when I started playing Pokemon(even though I had no idea what I was doing and just kind of ran around).
I got blue first, and I've been into it for 10 years now. That year was the only time I ever had all of the games, because there was only three, and that was the only time I ever caught all of the Pokemon.
My brother and I got Blue and Red respectively as our first games, so I guess that'd be the answer.
Pokemon Red- I was a fan from the start! :D
The first Pokemon game I played was Red. I remember I had my Charizard and was all proud. :D Shortly after that I started collecting the cards, which I don't do anymore, but I remember getting the cards out and showing them off, and wishing I had a Charizard. xD
Funny now how water Pokemon are my favorite. Now I would choose a Squirtle over a Charmander. :) |
my first was pokemon yellow with my little pikachu following me around and had the worse graphics ever :/ when i look back at it know. Shadowlvx |
Mine was Gold with Totodile =)
I started watching the show when I was seven or so, and I think I got Gold when I was eight or so. But, I consider my first real Pokemon experience as Crystal, because I got to be a girl in that game =) So the Johto region is very close to me. ... And, believe it or not, I hadn't played in the Kanto region until Fire Red and Leaf Green came out. I never played Red, Blue, or Yellow. |
Red or Blue baby, I'm old school.
I am one of the few that was actually dumb enough to see the show and not know about the games. I received my first Pokemon Game, which was Pokemon Crystal, in a trip to San Antonio when I was 5 or so.
Just asking by the way, who the heck in this forum would've played Shadows of Almia as their first game? XD |
A friend told me to buy a pokemon game , so i asked one fro x-mis (i guess about 8 years ago)
I got pokemon red then .. i beated the game but i wasn't even close to the pokedex challenge :s .. for others .. in gold/silver/crystal/ruby/sapphire/leaf green in those games i have obtained all pokemon that you can get without tradin .. cus i just can't tdae i know noone with link cable |

Mine was silver, and it was also the first video game I ever played, when I was 4
Pokemon Gold version in my (actually, my brother's) gameboy color. I was playing my brother's file.
Mine was red which i got with a GBC and blue about 10 year ago :)
The first game I played was blue version. I got it for Christmas and have loved it since.
My first pokemon game was pokemon Leaf green that I got for my birthday. I 've had it ever since the game came out. (good times, good times)
Pokemon since Red and not stoppin now ^.^
The first pokemon game I played was Pokemon LeafGreen :3
The first pokemon game i played was pokemon Yellow. When i was walking outside the grass from pallet town i swear to this day, that i ran into a wild pidgeotto. Of course it could have been a dream. xD
Pokemon Blue all the way. This stuff is addicting like crack.
First agme I OWNED was saphirre, but the first one I ever palyed? Eiteh my cousins blue evrsion, or his older brother's red version.
I started with Yellow and the GBC.
It was my ninth birthday when I got both.=) Ahhh, long ago...good times! |
First one I got was Red....truly the greatest game I've ever played. It was easter, it was either 1999 or 2000, and I spent 20 minutes attempting to escape the house. Eventually I got out and saw this world, I was still not sure what to do, and eventually walked into the grass. Before I know it Professor Oak is there and it all begins.
I dont think I put the game down for at least 2-3 hours, even when we were going to the pub for lunch. I still remember the day well, as it was, really, a massive part of my childhood. I feel sorry for those of you too young to have had the chance to play Pokemon Red first time, but I'd urge those who haven't played to play it through at least once, as the game is truly legendary. |
Pokemon Red.
Lost it in Camp Pinewood l; |
Definitely red or blue can't remember which one was first but it was out of those two
I'm probably the only person here who's gonna say, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue. I liked Pokemon before that game came out, but I wasn't into video games until, like, 2005 or something.
I first played Yellow on my GBC, and my friends used to argue who had the better team, it was fun.
U played Leafgreen. It was to short for me and I caught all the pokemon with ease.
pokemon emerald with treeko.
Crystal was my first one. I played red/blue later on. To me, even till today, crystal was the best!
Back in second grade I borrowed my friend's Red version, I loved it so much I just kept playing it! He did ask for me to return it...eventually. I gave it back in 5th grade.
Mine was yellow version. I don't even remember how old I was or when I got it, but all I really remember is that it was yellow version.

My first game was Pokemon Snap, but after that, I went with Blue Version. Wait, maybe I did own Blue before Snap.. I don't really remember that far back, but yeah. Either way, I remember thinking that Pidgey was pronounced 'Piggy'.. And that my cousin kept nicknaming Pidgey 'Oxen' for some reason. Yeah, good times..
My first game was Silver, with a special edition Pikachu & Pichu Gameboy Color =D
I've loved Chikorita ever since that day and Johto has always been my favourite region. |
i got Pkmn Red/Blue when it came out 2 months after the release
:t354:TG |
My first Pokemon game was fire red version for the game boy. That was just the games but a few years before when I was really young I watched the T.V series all of the time. I sometimes do that now aswell. I never played any of the game boy colour ones.
It was Blue, I'm pretty sure. I remember coming out of the store with it, and then asking my mom how to get through Mt. Moon, and then a few months later when I found out about Missing No... not much else. It was a long time ago. :/
To be honest, it was Pokemon Monopoly, and the next day, I got pokemon Crystal. ^^;
I'm still in love with my Crystal game, even thouht it died. T_T |
Ooh, the first actual Pokemon game I played was Pokemon Blue back in '99, I think. The first time I saw Pokemon in a game was when the Game Boy Camera was released, though, at the time, I didn't know what they were.
Pokémon Red. I remember it clearly because I got it for my 5th birthday along with a Game Boy Color. :D It was how I fell in love with fire types & Charmander.
technically it was yellow. However, I was really younge so me and my sis played it together. I really didin't get into it until I got gold...so....
Yellow actually 1st Gold actual 1st I played |
That is easy, my 1st game I ever got...Sapphire!
The first Pokemon game I ever played was Crystal. Then, because I enjoyed playing it, I got Sapphire. I never really wanted to get the ones before that because you couldn't be a girl. >: I prefer the spin-off games, now. I've got PMD2 and PR2.
Pokemon Red and Blue. Those good old days, I can't even remember what year I bought it. The graphics sure is bad.
I remember my first Pokémon game being Yellow version with the special edition Pikachu Game Boy, and I played it a bunch alongside Unreal Tournament. I got it for Christmas of '99.
I lost that Game Boy. :( I'll probably grab another one off of eBay for nostalgia. I'll probably wind up playing that more than my DS and my 360 combined. :D |
Pokemon Red and then Yellow. I fell in love with the series from there.
Also you are missing Snap/Stadium/XD and Collesium/ TCG |
Oh my, it was so long ago! I was born before the show even started. ^_^ My first game ever was Red version, and I remember getting stuck in Viridian Forest because I thought the exit was a wall.
Blue version was the first Pokemon game I played. I remember buying it and constantly trying to figure out how to get past the old man in Viridian! I think I got Blue version when I was five years old, and it was my second Gameboy game.
I remember seeing this older guy I admired playing Pokemon Blue, except I had no idea how he turned into a Pokemon while "walking". Obviously, he was surfing xD
Well, first version I played was Blue. <3 |
My first Pokemon game was really the Trading Card Game Game (yes I mean to say game twice). I bought it when I was 7 because I thought it was a proper game because my cousin had blue. I couldn't do the tutorial because you had to do exactly as they say and I didn't know, I have up on it. But my first real game was Silver.
My friend's Pokemon Gold but the first time I played a pokemon game completely (from starter to the ending credits) was my Pokemon Sapphire. Ended up getting a complete pokedex (legit) until some kid borrowed it and saved a file over it. He didn't even know how to save it, so I was really annoyed. I'm over Sapphire now. Gonna play the classics before Platinum comes to Australia.

My first game was blue. I got it from my bigbrothers friend... Or someone... It was emulatorgame. I had computer when I was little so I had every pokemon games on my computer. (Red\Blue-Ruby\Sapphire.) Now I have emerald, diamond and pearl too
To tell you the truth--it was Pokemon Crater, but that isn't in the choices is it?
Sapphire was the first after Crater. It was my neighbors and I started borrowing it until I got my own (AND until he got irritated.). Thus leading me to THESE. |
First one I played was Ruby/Sapphire.
I didn't have access to the GBC games at the time and Sapphire was new when I got it. My actual first game was Pokemon Snap, though. |
The first game I played was Pokemon FireRed, mostly because of Charizard's coolness factor.
blue found it on the street and i just took it and played it and loved it
The first game with the name "Pokémon" I ever played was Pokémon Stadium, but as it wasn't an option, my first game is PMD: Blue Rescue Team  Why? It came in the mail before my Diamond did ^-^
the first pokemon game that i played was pokemon sapphire.........
it was my cousin's so i didnt keep it (and i dont have a GBA back then.) |
Now that I think about it, I can't exactly remember the first game I ever played. All I remember is that it was a first generation game and I got Yellow and Blue on the same day (Christmas). Man... Was it really that long ago? How time flies.
The first game I played was Pokémon Yellow followed by Pokémon Blue as I received both of them on Christmas Day.
Technically, I started on pokemon cards. When I was five, $3.25 was serious cash, so you'd better believe I squealed with joy if I got a holographic card.
Mine first real game was gold. I got it around when I was 6, couldn't find out how to get out of my room, then let it sit for two years while i played some jungle book game. Then, i finally did find out. And boy, seeing sentret, totdile, etc. (ZOMG new pokemon) was mind-boggling. I had the green pokemon handbook with all the original 151, so all these new pokemon were so awesome and cool. |
Got yellow on Xmas when I was about 5, that's when I REALLY got hooked on video games. I miss my Pikachu.
Blue version, it was my sisters when she went to school in the morning i would find it in her drawer and play with it till i had to go to school in the afternoon for kindergarten =).
Soon enough i got my first game for my birthday after my sister was sick of me touching hers and using the master ball on a slowpoke, which was yellow, and a teal blue gameboy color. |
my first games were pokemon red/blue back in 1997 =]
The first game I played was Pokemon Blue.
Pokemon Blue, Red and Yellow
i loved them, all level 100 pokemon because of missingno. |
My friend's Pokémon Yellow.
Mine was Pokemon Red. ^__^ I can still remember the first time I played it. This was maybe a few months before the release of yellow. I was super excited because I had been watching the shows, then I found out from a guy in my class there was a game. I bugged him every day til he let me borrow his copy of Red and his gameboy. I borrowed it for 2 weeks, then went out that Christmas bought a gameboy color and both Red and Blue. :)
Mine was Gold, actually.
But now I have them all except Red and Platinum :3 |
RED version for life my nigghaz!
mine was red.....man,i'm old!LOL
Pokemon Red for me. It was for that game that I decided to get a Gameboy Color. I remember playing that game all the time. I would battle with my friends, trade pokemon, and talk to that old guy in order to battle the missingnos. Good times.
I'm pretty sure it was Crystal, I was looking at some Youtube Pokemon walkthroughs and thought "Hey, why don't I download a Crystal ROM?" This was not too long ago, it was pretty much on my 10th birthday.
The first game I played was Pokemon Red and I distinctly remember I got a Charmander and then I didn't save it. So I had a heart attack when the game restarted to the begining again. XD
The first game I played was my Red version. I got it around Halloween 1998 (god, that makes me feel so old!). It was an early Christmas gift because my parents were sick of me bugging them for it. :D
That would be Pokemon Blue for me. My friend bought it first (actually I think he rented it...) and I played it on his black and white game boy. XD
Then I got Pokemon Red for my birthday and we duked it out until I got silver. Then he got gold and well the rest is obvious. =p |
I forgot. It was either Blue or Yellow.
Pokemon Gold from Christmas, year 2000. Addicted to Pokemon ever since...
Mmm. Hello thar nostalgia.
Yeah. Back in the good ol' days. With my Blue version. I should really have a play through with it some time. |
my friend had pokemon blue, then he would come to my house and we would play it and watch the show. then he grew tired of pokemon and gave me blue, then i got fire red, then leaf green, then emerald then ranger then diamond... happy days
