Red and blue ftw. The surf cheat pawned level 100 ftw
My Red/Blue cart came in a multicart, and I recieved it in Hong Kong during the week of New Years 2000.
Man, I flushed that thing down the toilet, but that thing was awesome when I actually picked it up at first. I kept running away from every battle though... XD But you gotta admit, Yellow's better than the other Gen I games. |
Pokemon Red, i remember catching my first pokemon (kakuna i think)
I managed to snatch a LeafGreen right before GBA games "went out of style." I liked the look of venusaur. I had to choose between green/red.
I received FireRed so I could get Pokémon that weren't in LeafGreen. I wanted Ruby because it's my birthstone, but I don't like mawile (understatement), so I purchased Sapphire secondhand. I wanted Emerald for.. legendary cloning reasons. (give Pokémon to friends, random people I meet online, blahblahblah.) I purchased Diamond when I got a DS, which was right after school ended in 2008. (US, that is.) I found PMD2 later and I've really enjoyed it. I restarted, though. (being a mudkip is awful.) PMD Blue followed and I'm stuck on where you fight Team Meanies. Pearl came for two reasons: I wanted a DS game I could restart, and I wanted to cure my fear of pinsir. (I managed to do so by catching one.) Platinum is coming sometime in March! So, LeafGreen started it all, but my favorite is still Sapphire. <3 |
I started with Pokemon Blue, I watched the slow and loved and wanted to play the game. I'm still hooked to the games :)
I never had a gameboy,
I played on my friends one when i was young, Pokemon Blue. |
Pokémon Silver tbh O_o. I started off with Totodile, though I'm sure many of you would have too! It was only last year that I actually picked up this game for the first time. My friend had sold me his Gameboy Color and a copy of Silver. Though the internal battery was dead, I still had a bit of fun. But when I wanted to play the game MORE, I bought Diamond. And now here I am with nearly every Pokémon game in existence lmao.
Ur... I think it was Yellow from a old fake game...(It has other games combined with it in the Cartridge)
I think so, since I remembered a Pikachu walking around with the trainer, and all the graphics so old, like, the trainer was all black in one area. I forggoten the second one, but I think it might be FireRed, or LeafGreen, or Sapphire, Or Ruby. And then... PMD. Once I get a DS, probably I'll get PMD2 first, wait for Platnium to come out, or maybe also buy Diamond or Pearl for Legit Pokemon trades online if I want... |
the first one i played
I played pokemon blue as my first pokemon game
My first one was Red. I've been with Pokemon since it first came to the US.
Yellow was the 1st Pokemon game I played on and I
Yellow was the 1st pokemon game I played on and I was hooked. |
Red
red and i still have the copy and i have a mew and i need 25 more pokemon to complete dex
Red version, first one i ever got..........then I lost it......>_<
My first game was Ruby. It was the first game I had ever gotten for my new Gameboy, so then I bought the rest of the games used. (I traded Blue for Yellow, though)
Red was my first game in the series. It's the reason I even got into gaming, really. Ah, those were the days... I remember being so excited over catching a Pikachu.
My first wasn't any of these it was regretfully Colosseum .
My first was Red. It wasn't totally mine, but I played it a lot when my *mean* older cousin let me. I remember... I was crying because I thought I released Pikachu. xD
But, as the person above said, Crystal was my real experience. I got to play as a girl, and that was the first Pokemon game that was fully mine. (Older cousin got out of Pokemon when Crystal came out.) |
i started with yellow back in 1998 or somethin. my friends had red but yellow just seemed so much cooler at the time. i mean srsly u have a pika followin u XD
mine is emerald... the 2nd is silver... then leaf green... then sapphire... then fire red... then yellow... and diamond... and ranger and pmd1... then ranger2 and pmd2
Pokemon Yellow.
I remember that it was that and not Red (which I must have gotten not very long after) because it came with that Pokemon GBC...XP I was so excited that every time something new happened, I would make a point of running from wherever I happened to be to where my mom was and telling her (even though I've realized by now that she didn't really care)...xDD Ah, the days when I could play those games at it never even cross my mind that the graphics were horrible. After Yellow came Red, then Gold and Silver (which has disappeared off the face of the planet), then Crystal, then Sapphire (at which point I was devastated to learn that the Pokemon I'd slaved over for hours [and those which I made full use of the many glitches to obtain and/or "train"] could not be transferred over), then Pearl. At some point, I intend to get Emerald, and I'll definitely be getting Platinum when it comes out. I'm not so sure about MD and PR, though. Maybe for the sake of getting Phione and Manaphy for the latter. |
the 1st i played was blue.
Mine was blue i had it when i was like 6 or 7 and i wasnt really sure what i was doing lol but ya blue was my 1st pokemon game and since then i have been hooked on pokemon
It was Pokemon Blue. I remember choosing a Squirtle and capturing a Pidgey on my first shot at it. It had great graphics for the time, even tho they look weird now.
My first game was Pokemon Red, which I got in 1998? Ten years... wow. Anyway it remains the only game I have completed the entire pokedex on. :)
The first game I played was pokemon blue but I got in to the cards first
the first game i played was blue....i liked it.
I first played Red chose charmander..... maybe that explains a few things
The first pokemon game I play was Silver and I started with either Chikorita or Totadile I loved it :) I had a lvl 100 Ferilagator which pwned in Crystal and I killed a shiny Zubat which I regret :(
The first game I actually owned was Gold, but I've been playing ever since Red/Blue released on my friend's Gameboys
The first ever Pokemon game I have ever played was Pokemon Yellow, which came with the special Pokemon Game Boy Colour. I remember playing it non-stop and my step-dad even hacked the game, so that the Pikachu would follow me around - Even in buildings.
Mine was pokemon crystal.
Mine was silver, I was in gamespot when I was 10 or so and just had to buy something so I bought it... and Liked it.
Pokémon Silver with my purple Game Boy Color was my first experience in handheld consoles. =P
I think that my first Pokemon game was either Pokemon Gold, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Stadium or this electronic Pokemon Pinball game that worked like a Game and Watch.
My first video game was Blue Version.
Quote:
That was the only game I ever even tried to complete the 'dex on. It helped back then that I had a cousin who played as well. Quote:
The Christmas of '98, or '99. Whenever the Red/Blue games were released. Got Pokemon Blue and a purple Gameboy Colour that year while my brother got Red and a green Gameboy Colour. Best Christmas ever. =3
i started my red version with charmander. i assumed that was what you were supposed to do. my brother and i always got games for christm,as at the same time. he started blue with squirtle. then silver with my cyndaquil, gold with his tododile. but he's 4 yeats oplder than me and outgrew it. he gave me his gold, wich i then gamesharked to death and then gave to my bestie.
Gold. Got it with my Pikachu game boy color. Man, I loved that thing.
Blue in 2000 XD Man, i remember being eager to get it because everone else in the school got it. And beating Misty the own night I put my hands on it. And finiding glitches. And... *teardrop*

My first pokemon game ever?
Hm, that's a good question, I believe it was either Gold or Silver. Although that doesn't really make much of a difference. ^^; |
First pokemon game ever?
Probably Blue but it could have been Red XD All I know is I still own Pokemon Red and the Gameboy =D |
Red was my first game!
I loved that game and remember losing it once! I spent all night crying because of that and then the next day i went on a 'big adventure' entitled "Pokémon Red where art thou WAAAA!"! Basically i searched everywhere in the house! Under beds, in my parents room, tank cupboard, storage room and even the toilet cistern (though the game probably wouldn't have worked if it was in there!)! I tried so hard to find it but ,alas, it did not turn up! I literally crawled to bed in dismay and disappointment! I had never felt so sorry for myself in my whole life! I cried myself to sleep that night! I awoke the next morning to something that probably changed my life (well not really)! My mom had woken my up! I turned away but she urged me look at here! When i finally complied what i saw made me burst out in tears! My mom had went gotten up early in the morning and had drove to the shops to get me a new one! Although it could never replace the original i was overjoyed! I could help but say thank you and i love you about one trillonbillion times! I had never felt so close to my mom in my life! Well story time is over now its time to sleep! J/K anyway! That was the story of my adventures with Pokémon Red! Maybe i should write a book! It will be called 'The Pokémon adventures or Arainn Dickson!" Yes its perfect MUAHHAHAH! Now before i go totally off topic i will just stop right there! PS: Keep in mind i was still pretty young then! |
My family told me Pokemon was satanic. So I was never allowed to play it.
When I was 13 I saw Emerald at Gamestop and I was like "Hmm...Dude lend me about 5 bucks, I'm getting this." And now it's two years later. I'm bored and going here and making metrosexuals hate me. |
Depend on how you mean it. The FIRST PKMN game i played was FireRed. The First in terms of how old they are, Gold.
like most here. i played blue first. I didn't even know it was rpg until i got it
Pokemon red in...'99 I think. I remember I traded my Charizard for a mew. I wish I had started with Bulbasaur...
I was over at my cousin's house (around 1998) and he was playing something on the Gameboy Colour. Curious, I asked him it was. He told me it was Pokémon and I asked him if I could have a go. He threw the handheld console over to me (which, naturally, I dropped) and a new era of addictive gaming began for me.
Easy answer for me... it was the very first Red version...
I started with Silver, it was good.
mine was gold and silver
My first game was Pokemon Blue. My brother let me start my own game on his game.
But it wasn't really my game. And I hated that there wasn't a female choice. Pokemon Sapphire was the first pokemon game that was mine. Good times. 8D |
the first game i played was emerald
Since the beginning with Pokemon Red!!
Hehe, Pokemon Bluue =p
It was awesome back then. |
It was Pokemon Yellow or Pokemon Pinball. I remember when i was little I got my gameboy color and it was Pokemon themed. Yea my first game was Pokemon Pinball for GBC

i was so young and got it for my bday. i think i was 4 |
Red and yellow, since I was just 5 years old;D, I actually got it from my aunt. All of the video games I had actually got it from my aunt^_^

My first pokemon game i ever played was pokemon blue.
My first pokemon game i played was pokemon blue. |
Hm.. The one I played isn't on the poll : /...
I played the Japanese Green version.. Basically the very first version nwn! |
I played Red first, but then didn't really understand pokemon. So, Ruby was really the game that got me hooked.
I am proud to say Pokemon Red. I had been watching the anime for a few months, now (first episode was the one in the Pokemon Tower), and my parents got me Gameboy Color and Pokemon Red for my sixth birthday. My very first Pokemon was Squirtle, and it was my very first videogame. Unfortunately, it doesn't work anymore for some reason. At least I still have Blue and Yellow. :)
I played red since I was just five It was my first pokemon game.
Mine was Blue version, and it came with a lime green GBC from Sam's Club.(I think it was Sam's Club...)
Pokemon Blue version, I chose Squirtle. then i realized i didn't have to choose the one that was on the games covoer and chose chharmander. I miss him, last time i had him he was Lv. 83 Had Dragon Rage, Flamethrower, Earthquake, Hyperbeam.
My First Game Is Pkmn Yellow Its A Good Game Good Game
The first game I played was my cousin's red version for a couple days, but we were on vacation. The first one I really played was gold, and I started with a totodile. Unfortunately, like most people who first pick up pokemon, my starter was the only one I trained, and he was around level 90 before I traded him to my crystal to get the other starters.
I can happily hold my head high and say Blue (though I like Red more =()
Ah, the good ol' days XD Also, my first starter was Charmander mainly because I hated the others (well, maybe not Squirtle....Turtles FTW! XD) |
I started with Pokemon Emerald, the fan translated ROM version. Then I tried Ruby, Sapphire, Crystal, Red, Blue, because I started playing Pokemon when I was grade 4(between 2003 to 2004)
It was pokemon blue :)
I only just got into the TV show, I didn't even know it was based off a game =)) I thought the game was based off the TV show... I was a poke n00b then =)) |
Got Red version, picked Charmander... Stupid Brock.
My first was Yellow. For some reason, when Pokemon first came out, I hated it. The next year (after the "fad" died at my school), my cousin let me play his Yellow version. After that, I was pretty much hooked on Pokemon. Funny thing is, my cousin no longer likes Pokemon.
Pokemon Red, with my Charmander :D I was only 5 when I first played, it was really fun (at that age), but IT STILL IS:D I'll never forget that moment ever.
I remember it like it was almost yesterday. lol I had a fun time playing my red version at my local community park on the playground! lol I remember a group of kids watching me with excitement and they were going to get the pokemon game the next day. Yup good times! :)
Gold, I didn't get a Game Boy until the Christmas I got Gold. I played Red and Yellow after.
Pokemon Blue. It was a hand-me-down of my brothers.
Fell in love with the series after that. |
My cousin who's 2 years older than me was really into Pokemon when he was 9 or 10, one of his friends who later became one of my best friends had Pokemon Blue on Gameboy Pocket, I was never really into Pokemon at all, I never even liked the Anime that much, but I played it and fell in love with the game when everyone was losing interest, I borrowed it off him for like 6 months and eventually G/S came out and silver became my first actually owned Pokemon game.
I was pretty bad at the game back then, Charmelion evolved into Charizard when I was on the SS. Anne and all my other pokemon were under level 10 haha. |
It was my Blue, i was 5, i didn't even know how to read xD
I was one of the many kids who first started playing Pokemon with Red and Blue. I got both games for my birthday in June 1998. I played Red throughout my entire summer vacation and played more when I was a Junior in high school.
Oddly enough, there were a few others who played the games at my school also. |
I played Blue First got bored and whent to red =D
Actually I don't really know what my first game was. It's either Red or Gold. At first I didn't really know how to play it but when Ruby came out I started to get better at it. I started making teams instead of using one pokemon..
I was only 5 years old and I wanted a Pokemon game, so I got Pokemon Puzzle Challenge. I then played Pokemon Silver at a friends' house.
Emerald One of younger friends let me play it....
Mine was blue and my starter was charmander!
The first one I ever played was Red, on Christmas Day in 1998. Ah, good times, good times.

It took me two years to get passed Morty's Gym. Those Darn Spaces!
my first one was when i was 4, pokemon collusiam, i was so addicted, my parnts put it on a top shelf where i coudlnt reach :X
That would be Yellow.
I loved that Pikachu.. |
The first one I played was Red. :] My sister volunteered in the office in Middle school. (for extra credit or something) And, every now and then they were allowed to pick one thing for the Lost and Found box that no one had claimed in I think it was... 3 months?... yeah, 3 months. Well, my sister got lucky and found a Gameboy Color in the box and snatched it up. Red version was in the game. She let me play it because she knew how much I liked Pokemon. After a while, she gave it to me. And, the obsession began. :]
You extremely lucky one, I played the one I shared with my friend. But now I've got it one the DS using a program called lameboy.I want a gbc of my own
Pokemon Blue Version.
Received as a late birthday present with my first ever Game Boy: that Berry Game Boy Color. |
Pokémon Red. :D My friend and this guy I used to bother in my grade 4 class both had it so I wanted it too. Nevermind that if I were a smart kid, I'd have gotten Blue so that we could trade exclusives haha.
It was actually my first video game ever. |
Pokemon yellow was my first game i played.
The first game i played was gold when i was 5. i got it from my uncle for christmas. LOL it took me about 6 months to figure out how to save the game.
First game was red, on the first gameboy, name escapes me now. I remember beating the whole game in 23 hours...
My first game was Ruby Version. I don't remember why I actually got it though =/
I think it was because I kept on hearing people talk about the Johto pokemon games, so I just got the newest pokemon game that was out. |
