I got yellow because pikachu followed you. IT WAS AWESOME!
Yellow and green. Had to have ROMs because we were too poor to afford a GAMEBOY. Then a miracle happened... some kid moved away and left his pink sparkly(I know?) game boy in the mud, in the ditch, on the side of the road between our houses. Then it got rained on. ... And then, it was mine....~ Actually it was a hand-me-down so I didn't officially own it until five years later. But the point is, I have a five-year old pink sparkly rained on gameboy and it still works so. >/ <333 Ahh.. Nostalgic Yellow. |
The Game Boy Color Red version was the first one that I played. That was when I was in 6th grade and the latest game they had out as well. I'm old school yo!
Blue, when I was 3... It belonged to my sister, she had finished it, capture Mewtwo and trained her Pokemon to really high levels. Then her little sister comes along and restarts it without asking. =) At the time I wasn't very good at it. I restarted a million times, picking Squirtle each time, and only training my Squirtle, never catching any other Pokémon. I lost the game, but I still have the Game Boy. ^_^
Originally, I first played the Blue Version all those years ago. XD
I hardly remember when or why I got the game to be honest. :\ |
i first played pokemon blue my highest was like a lvl 63 blastoise but then it like corrupted and graphics :disappoin they REALLY REALLY STINK
You missed out a few options in the poll.
The first ever Poke'mon game I played was Colloseum. I loved every moment playing it. ^^ |
Red was my first but blue and yellow soon followed, then bought all the new games as soon as they are released
My aunt gave me a present with
a gameboy color and pokemon yellow when I was 4 or 5. I always wanted to have a mew since I heard from one. |
Of course Red/Blue, it's the 1st game I ever played.
Pokemon Yellow. I got it a year ago from my cousin cuz she filled up all the boxes and got all her pokes to 100, so she saw NO purpose whatsoever in doing the game. So I restarted. Heck, I am playing it right now as I'm doing it now. ^.^ Even tho it was made in 1999 I think? It is still very fun. I love how every town changes to a different color. And you can talk to your Pikachu. (mine fainted so I cant talk to it right now) But normally, every time I talk to it, it jumps up and down 2 times then smiles. Guess it likes me!
First Pokemon game I played was Gold, on the big fat gameboy that took 4 batteries. ICK.
Either that or Pokemon Stadium 1. |
of course Red/Blue, it was really good and the first thing I like pokemon.
I just found my Blue version copy and now I remember it wasnt yellow it was blue because I got blue like 5 years ago. I forgot I had it then tripped over it trying to get to my laptop. ^^" Well, now I know. But I cant change what I voted for.

When I moved to a city from the countryside in second grade, I had no idea what Pokemon was. At recess, kids had cards, and figurines, and all kinds of pokemon merchandise. So I asked my neighbor about it, he was about 5 years older than me, and he gave me his old original gray gameboy with red, blue AND yellow. =]]]
I was terribly inexperienced with handheld games. The only other thing I played was Duck Hunt with my dad. I remember, I first played Blue, 'cause that was my favorite color of the three, and I thought I had made it far once I reached Viridian City. And when I found the secret potion to the west of the city, I thought that the branch was the potion, and I had no idea how to pick it up. x]]] Boy I've come far from those days, bwahahaha. |
I first got Red and Blue for Christmas back in 1999.
I was a bit of a late starter. Sapphire was the first one I played.
I started about 10 years ago; a friend of mine had the Yellow version and I was always looking at how he played it whenever we were in school, or had some free time. He sometimes would let me borrow it. One of those times I kept it, was the last one because she had to move to another state, so he never said anything to me, and that's how I netted me a Yellow version, which was my first one... Ah, the good days... xD |
The very first Pokemon game I've played is Pokemon Red because of the Charizard on the front.
pokemon blue original.
Pokemon gold and silver were the best |
Yellow version was my first. Me and my brother had wanted it for so long, even though G/S were already out. Mamma called from the shop to be instructed. We told her to ignore the golden and silvery packages and go straight for the yellow one, and GBA.
Afterwards, I'm kinda glad we picked Yellow and not G/S. I think I wouldn't have appreciated 1stGen as much then :3 |
The first ever game I played was Pokémon Gold.
I used to remember it was Pokémon Yellow, turns out I just watched and played little parts (I was too young back then) and that obviously doesn't count. |
Silver way back in.... 2002. That's not that long ago, honestly. XP
Man I played the CRAP out of that thing. I almost cried when I thought I lost my save. I was all "CINDERS NOOOOO!! ;o;" (Cinders was the name of my cyndaquil. XD) |
Pokemon red was my first game. I remember being so happy when we went to Wal-marts to get it. Now even now I have a special place for the first generation.
My older friend gave me her old Pokemon stuff. Among that was Gold. From that day on, I loved Pokemon.
Red was the first game I played. A friend and I went to town together the day Reb/Blue came out. I got Red, he got Blue.
Good memories! |
Iirc, my cousin's Blue when I was five or six. I really loved the game and Pokémon, so they bought me Red - my first Pokémon game.
The first Pokemon game I have played is Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue.
Red of course, all the way back in '97.
Mine was Pokemon Blue, it was my first pokemon/gameboy game, also with my first gameboy, the Atomic Purple one both for my birthday!
I started out with Blue, while my brother competed with Red. From then till now.
Mine was Crystal. I never read the help booklet that came with it, so it took me a week to try and get out of the main character's house. 0_o
Blue, and I still have it :D
red was the first i ever played and that was like when i was 7. I even remember the elite 4 champ/rival battle. i had a 60 somethin charizard, no moves left except cut, all my other pokemon fainted and his blastoise was ever so close to dying. he used hydro pump, it missed and then i sealed the deal with a cut and won...never was i so happy xD
Red. found it in my grandma's random stuff drawer back in '99. i don't remember if i had lost it, or bought it and forgot about it. i never beat it though, only got to the 6th gym, then lost it...again, possibly.
My first pokemon game i plyed was the Blue version i got to the end of the game but i coulden't beat Gary and then i lost it or something.

Charmander for the win. :'D |
Hmmm, good times. Emerald was the first game I ever played from then on I was hypnotized by Pokemon Gaming!!!
I.. think it was Blue. If it wasn't Blue, it was Stadium or Stadium 2. I really can't remember, I was pretty little.
Pokemon Red, still have the game. Ahh... memories.
Kind of wish I didn't restart it though, the original file was still playable. |
I feel like I'm left out on all of the action because the first Pokemon game I'm playing is Pokemon Pearl right now.
I got Pokemon Blue along with a blue gameboy colour years ago for christmas, and I was hooked. :3
First I got Sapphire... then I got my first Emerald, then Mystery Dungeon Red, then I got Gold... later Crystal followed... next came Ruby... then LeafGreen... then FireRed... then my second Mystery Dungeon Red, then my first Diamond... then my second LeafGreen.. my second Diamond... Pearl... the old Yellow version... then Platinum.
My first game was Sapphire.
Crystal I got with my GameBoyAdvance in....4th grade?
Later, I got Gold for my birthday from an aunt. 248 seen, 245 caught. 600+ hours when I traded Cryst in. |
My first was yellow, loved it and have been a poke game fan ever since.
Like most people Red was my first poke-game , my friend had blue and a trading cable so we could trade pokemons we couldn't find and sometimes battle each other
