...Should I be worried?

Alright, so,

I wanted Crystal for christmas, right?
And I told me older brother this.

And a couple days later, he says he bought it off his friend,
and gave it to me for an early chirstmas present.

So, I started up the crystal.
Here's the story from that point on:

When I first turned on my GBA for the game, it did the game boy logo, and left me with white space.

I was like- M'kay, this may be broken...
I turn it off and on. It starts, this time.
Yay!

So, since my brother bought it off his friend,
I checked for any existing files.
There it was- My brother's friend's data.

Strange thing though- The place where it says how long you've played-
was ???.

I loaded it, it said it couldn't find a time, and I guess it started up the time thing again, I didn't really pay notice to it.

Anywho, after exploring the world of my brother's friend's poke'memories, I finally got around starting my own game.

A course, it's wonderful, I set the time up exactly and the day of the week, It was perfect. ^^

The next day... (which happens to be today, Thursday)
I went to my data. It says it's Monday. @[email protected]"

I play on as regular, nothing has be tampered, right where I saved, all my pokemon were still there, same level as I left them.
Nothing changed except for the day of the week.

I save and turn it off. I play it again afterwards,
And now it's apperantly Friday.

Still, Everything is fine. Just the day of the week.

After playing a while, I save and stop playing, and later I start playing again.
(BTW, I'm near the national park near Celadon).

TGuess what day it is... TUESDAY! XD
A course, after I WTF moment, I played- Perfectly fine.
I even played the Bug contest. Caught an Epic lv. 18 weedle.
Still Lost. >.>"

Everything about the game is fine, It's just that it doesn't know what day of the week it is.
The clock that says the time, if fine. It's perfectly in synce with the real time.

Should I be concered?

If it's playing fine, I would'nt worry. It's like my friend's copy that does'nt keep the time correctly...which interfears with the game. Your problem is just the day of the week. As long as it does not affect your gameplay you should be okay.
I think almost all Crystal games end up with a flaw....like mine will save, but then erase my data after I turn it off...

That makes me feel so much better.

BTW, I remembered something.
When I was checking out my brother's friend's save, the time was ???, right?

it was because the day of the week & time were missing.
it asked me, and it actually had the right time and right day of the week when it asked me to specify.

Since everything is perfectly fine and it's just the day of the week,
I feel safe.

Anyway, Just a question for the rest of this thread-
If you replace your internal battery with your save file still on the game-
Does all your precious data disappear?

Because if any point in the future I need to replace the internal battery-
I want to know.

Yes, it will disappear once you take out the battery. To prevent this, I recommend picking up a Mega Memory Card (made by InterAct). You can use it to make backups of your save data, and then restore the backups after changing the battery.

That's a great idea!
I just revised my Christmas for it, in Place of crystal.

It makes me feel so much safer.
