How are you going to raise your pokemon??

I raise mine all equally. If one is at a higher level then i will raise the others to that level. *I never let my pokemon evolve*

salamenceruler04 August 30th, 2004 4:23 PM

That is pretty much how i do it to...but towards the end of the game i always let them go (one will be like 10lvl higher then another...i dont do this on purpose)..You don't let your pokemon evolve....why?

Marill909 August 30th, 2004 7:01 PM

I dont want big tough looking pokemon. If theyre cute I want to keep them cute...pretty simple.

Inedable August 31st, 2004 1:13 AM

Not evolving???!!!

Why would you ever not evolve your pokemon ???
In my opinion it doesn't matter how they look. The fact is that if they don't evolve as soon as they can your pokemon can suffer a 25% drop on all stats compared to if they evolved.

PaperDoll_777 August 31st, 2004 2:57 AM

I keep my pokies at different levels just incase a rare poke'mon appeares or sumthingt like that! ;) I also train in the grass when i have a chance!

Inedable August 31st, 2004 10:55 AM

I try to keep my pokemon at about the same level but only train 2-3 pokemon at a time so that thier levels stay reasonably high. I never put-off evolution or use rare candy so that my pokemon's stats are at max. When I am catching a pokemon I catch multiple of the same pokemon then pick the one with the best stats. I try to teach most of them moves that don't rely on power to win. ;)

salamenceruler04 August 31st, 2004 1:06 PM

I think im goin to start using a new method of training....before i fight each gym i will get all my pokemon to the same lvl....and say my highest is 33 and my lowest is 28..i will get them all to lvl 35..there will always be at a ?5 are ?0...nerer inbetween

Marill909 August 31st, 2004 5:04 PM

I have never in the past evolved my pokemon and i have always played through the game very well. I just give them lots of stat raising items and they become just as strong as they would be at an evolved form.

salamenceruler04 August 31st, 2004 6:57 PM

Do they learn all the same moves as they would have if you would have evolved them?

Simon August 31st, 2004 7:04 PM

Right now I just defeated the E4 and my Rival and all my Pokemon are at pretty decent levels. Not EV trained though since this is ingame. They're all levels 50-70 except for my Gyarados which is level 30-ish.

They mostly do but there are some that can't learn certain moves without evolving. Olny ones I can think of right now are the 3 starters from RS which can't learn 1 or 2 moves without evolving. And if it does, there are 1-2 moves it can't learn.

Trainer Ben August 31st, 2004 8:04 PM

I never really focus on catching every Pokemon in the game, since it seems hard. I just catch about 3 or 4 Pokemon, and train them while traveling. I basically catch the ones that i want, but sometimes i'll catch one i'll need because i have to teach flash to someone or something like that.

I wish they'd make a water blue version. I like Blastoise more than Venusaur and Charizard.

evee September 1st, 2004 1:00 AM

i train alotl ike you maril909 although i wait until all my pokemon are ready to evolve because...i dunno i justl ike it when they all evolve together...i also never use rare candy's...well i used to in like red to crystal...i use alot of proteins and other such things i also agree with trainer_ben i never catch all pokemon...mainly because i just dont want to i train six pokemon and they are usually charmander, squirtle, bulbasaur, larvitar, bagon, aron beause i like pokemon that have a second and third evolution...i also dontl ike training legendary pokemon and never use starters from g,s,c,r,s yeah anyways...seya

Well, Slowbro and Slowking learn different moves (Slowking learns Slowpoke's moves), the same goes for Slaking... and of course Abra ^_^. But apart from that, many Pokemon learn the same moves as their evolved Pokemon.

I wouldnt know. The only pokemon I ever evolve are the bug pokemon.

Inedable September 1st, 2004 6:36 PM

Actualy, most pokemon learn different moves if they evolve, just look at charizard, foretress, poliwhirl evolutions, slobro evolutions and almost any other pokemon. And about stat raising Items, They can potentialy raise an evolved pokemon's stats higher than a non-evolved one's.

Rubberbandman September 2nd, 2004 4:55 PM

I evolve my pokemon regardless of movesets.I want powerful pokemon. My taining is that I seperate my pokemon by 2-5 levels.(until level 100,of course.)I keep trying to catch all the pokemon last.(I need 10 more pokemon to complete it .) I STILL never completed it.

No No. Not true. Although i do agree with you on the attacks with evolutions i do not agree with you on stat raising items working better on higher level Pokemon. I read in the Ruby? sapphire handbook, that all stat raising items raise the stats the same amount even if it is at a higher level or evolution. The only stat raising items that do not work like that are Carbos and Iron.

Marill909 I'm Doing The Sme Training With You But I Let Them Evolve..they're Getting Stronger...........because I Love Pokemon With Big Power.....

Scyther September 3rd, 2004 3:55 AM

well after u look at my name *scyther* u can tell what im about POWER
grow them all evenly only have 2 lvls separating them tops
and try and get them to evolve as soon as possible *except when handleing a vigoroth* and then when they evolve use a combo of agile and strong fighting moves to destroy ur apponent quick and painless

Simon September 3rd, 2004 4:24 AM

Why wouldn't you want to evolve a Vigoroth into a Slaking? Slaking's stats match those of oobers. Only Truant sets it back a bit, but that's a minor problem seeing as you can kill almost everything with Hyper Beam.

ChiefYamaki September 3rd, 2004 5:17 AM

I train my Pokemon slowly, not like others who just train one Pokemon, which is uaually the starter. Slaking? It is up to him to let him evolve it or not. I like Slaking anyway.

Rodeoclown September 3rd, 2004 5:55 AM

Pokemon arn't cute they're killing machines!:dead:

Anyway I raise my pokemon equally. Well..... mostly equal. Ok, sort of equal.

Scyther September 3rd, 2004 6:27 AM

i juster prefure vigoroth and i hate traunt

Marill909 September 3rd, 2004 6:04 PM

Geuss What? I evolved a pokemon! It felt great! Im only going to do it to a select few tho... Charmander , Pidgey, and ...Thats all!

aqonix September 3rd, 2004 8:43 PM

good for you, work threw the pain lol
anyway I try to keep the generally the same but the starter like 5 ahead of the others.
