Tomorrow's Uber: CB Pidgeot! (NU RMT)

I really love the NU metagame, even if it's not a major one that places like Smogon or Marriland consider a "true" tier. My favorite thing about it is the insane amount of balance that you experience while playing it. It's not overly offensive, nor is it too defensive. This team was constructed out of me using things that I find most suitable, and it will not be changed unless there are good reason/specific threats that you can mention. I accept all forms of criticism =]

Pidgeot @ Choice Band
Adamant
252 Att/252 Spe/6 HP
Brave Bird
Return
U-Turn
Pursuit/Quick Attack

Wow! This thing is an absolute brute with a respectable 426 Attack stat (that's higher than Metagross, Tyranitar, Salamence, and even Rhyperior!). Simply put, CB Pidgeot really wrecks things with Brave Bird and Return, and U-Turn lets it escape things like Bastiodon or Golem who really are a pain to deal with. Pursuit is mainly filler, but it could be useful for catching a rare Chimecho trying to flee. Of course, Quick Attack is useful for killing those annoying Focus Sasher's that are faster than me.

Golem @ Life Orb
Adamant
252 Att/252 Spe/6 HP
Rock Polish
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Explosion

Best late game clean up in NU. Easily. Rock/Ground has excellent coverage in UU, and his massive 350 Attack makes him nearly unstoppable once he gets his Rock Polish up. After one Rock Polish, his speed skyrockets to 378, enough to outspeed Base 120's, which is basically everything in NU. Explosion is great for when Golem can't go on any longer, but still wants to guarantee one kill.

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/roselia.png
Roselia @ Choice Scarf
Modest
252 SpA/252 Spe/6 HP
Leaf Storm
Sludge Bomb
HP Ground
Shadow Ball

Roselia is completely awesome. I needed something with high Special attack, and she fit the role perfectly. Choice Scarf brings her speed up to a very decent 343, enough to outspeed everything up to + Nature Base 110's, which are quite rare. Leaf Storm and Sludge Bomb are STAB, while HP Ground nails Bastiodon hard on the switch in. Shadow Ball is mainly for Chimecho and other bulky Ghosts that just don't seem to go down after a Leaf Storm.

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/whiscash.png
Whiscash @ Leftovers
Impish
220 HP/110 Att/180 Def
Waterfall
Earthquake
Rest
Sleep Talk

One of the only true counters for Golem and such. ResTalk Whiscash has great typing with an awesome dual Water/Ground STAB to boot. Impish over Adamant to tank hits better, and 180 Def over 110 Attack for the same exact reason. He offers an Electric immunity, Poison resist, Fire resist, and most importantly, a Rock resist (hahaha, Golem).

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/flareon.png
Flareon @ Leftovers
Calm
252 HP/252 SpD/6 SpA
Flamethrower
Wish
Protect
Toxic

An absolute stalling machine. Wish + Protect annoys the hell out of whatever I face, and Toxic wears practically everything down. Flamethrower is nice since the burn chance could come in use against Poison/Steel types. Immunity to Fire attacks is also a plus, and being resistant to Bug attacks, one of the most dominant types in NU, is just too good to pass up.

http://arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/golbat.png
Golbat @ Leftovers
Adamant
252 HP/56 Att/120 Def/82 Spe
Brave Bird
Roost
Taunt
Toxic

Golbat! Aquilae turned him onto me, after he reccomended it as a Seviper counter. 354 HP/206 Def/186 SpD is pretty decent in NU, and Brave Bird smacks things around hard, bulky waters especially. Golbat's 231 Attack is actually pretty good, especially for a tank. Golbat makes a terrifice Fighting resist due to his 4x resistance to Fighting. He also 4x resists Bug, 4x resists Grass, and even 2x resists Poison. What a lovely array of resistances.

I thought Golem was UU o_O

regardless, aren't Roselia and Golbat illegal? Being NFE and all.

Any NFE pokemon (other than UU pokemon like scyther) can be used in NU.

I think the rule is except for the exceptions, all nfe pokemons are in the tier their third forms are in

The thing is... there's no prayer for Flareon or Golem being NU. They're clearly overpowered since useful water and grass types are a bit rare (Dewgong and Phione were moved up) and nothing really likes taking or giving Flareon hits.

I suggest you change it to NU Pokemon, seeing as this is a team for NU Pokemon.

Grand, a completely worthless post, thanks for flooding my thread with your ignorance.

Anyway, I'm wondering if perhaps a SubAgiliy Prinplup could be worriesome..

Skip Shot December 22nd, 2008 3:40 PM

A Prinplup with Sub/Agility/Surf/Ice Beam does look like a problem to this team. im not sure what Whiscash can do against it, as everything else takes SE from Surf/Ice Beam. If the sub is broken, Roselia might be able to outspeed and revenge kill, but only if the sub is down.

One idea to counter Prinplup, however, is:

Mantyke @ Leftovers
Calm Nature- Water Absorb
252 HP/ 120 Def/ 136 Sp. Def.

Surf
HP Electric
Mirror Coat
Aqua Ring

Might help.

(Unless, of course, you're using this team in UU)

How is the population of PC's Shoddy server 2-3 people ._. Thanks, but no thanks for the help.

you could consider faster pokes w/ encore. chatot fits the description with a good special attack and decent coverage with STAB hyper voice and overheat. last slot can be nasty plot or sub. this might not be a bad idea to take care of other chatot.

vigoroth is SOOO cool. it has access to encore, has a great ability and can make a good physical attacker. a bulk up variant with fire punch/return/encore would be pretty interesting.

swalot is a nice tank with a decent movepool. could probably do well over flareon.

lopunny should be NU. pretty bulky and fast.
