Yeah but if you're hacking Ruby being the texter is hard work you don't get an INI like Firered so you have to search up the text and then change it.

Is the name supposed to be like the jewel "Citrine" or was the title "Cintrine" a typo or was it a clever name?

Anyway the hack looks ok, its just you may want to add some color and some formatting to the first post. And instead of using advanced text you may want to learn how to make text scripts with XSE, its so much easier and cleaner than AT.

For some reason, I got CINTRINE as my title.

It all started when I started drawing and designing some new pokemons.
Then my friend introduce me to hacking. However I was terrible on those days. ( They are horrible memories ) 6 months later, i played a hack called PRD-RoL ( Pokemon Ruby Destiny-Reign of Legends ) which amazed me. I started hacking again and tried to make Pokemon Cintrine. However, it was very unsuccessful. However, when i learn some stuff on tutorials, i started a new project called Pokemon Platium. Yeap, it should be platinum. I was the first person who wanted to remake platinum. However very unsuccessful. And after some months, my hacking skills improved so much.
And finally started this project. I started this at September 2008 and it is still progressing. I'm not going to give up.


Update: Beta 5 released. Brand new thread.

Well.. in my opinion... the cave screen looks really good! I really liked the shape of it.... but.... how come there's a tree inside it? Where does it get the light for photosynthesis from? It just seems..... wrong. Couldn't the obstacle be needing rocksmash instead of cut?

And the farming town looks odd to me. The building is very poor... and... well.. so is the map, i'm sorry. Too plain, I'd say. You could try to create a better variation of tiles for this... I don't know.

EDIT: Oh, and the globe is also a bit weird. For me, it seems like you've mistaken the palette or something. I think that you could include a few more colors... or a little more shading in the globe itself. I LOVE globes, and I'm glad to see a map with one of'em (ok, sorry for the obsession)... but you should really work a bit more on it.

Umm I am stuck in Promandu town. I can't seem to get anywhere. There's something unseeable in the way to get out to the east. and i cant go back the way i came since there's no door/stairs/ladder/warp/etc that can take me back. could you tell me how to get out and to the next place?

beta 5 is bad but....just go to the gym and talk to a guy behind a statue...
Believe me, it is bad at that time but it was improved :)

I would try this hack out, but the patch crashes the Emulator and its just a blank white screen...is it my VBA, bad patching, or the patch just doesn't work.

make all of them near.
Or at least, make a more interesting idea on how to catch them.

(Like a quest or something and make it quite longer.)

He's saying to not make them so early in the game and give the player an interesting side-quest to go through to find and capture them.(instead of just puting them there and catching them so early in the game, it makes the story so less interesting). Do you understand that.:)(if not i'll try being more clear...)

In your trailer the fakemon doesn't have much shading if it has any. Not a big problem but It will look much better if you shade them. Overall you are doing great. How far does the newest beta go? I'm thinking of playing it but I don't want to bother if it is short.

I'm not sure what the video update above is meant to show really but just from that I can say:

Buildings are poorly placed. Scatter them about a bit and make sure there is no roof tiles so close to the entrance of the gym.
Grass is a bit too neon-green. Try a darker shade.
The inside of the Gym is the same as Dad's in Ruby still <<.
The boulder-thing looks rather random amongst the green.

I told you in a PM I can Help you with your maps...And Hes right...You need to change the Surf thing...But I'm just guessing that was just to show you're new Tiles...But you should add a custom Script for hoping the rocks...Oh and the Torn world Tiles are A HUGE Improvement...:)

the mapping in the first vid

is pretty poor tbh
however the tiles are fantastic when used properly and the ruby/sapphire/emerald sprites do not go with daimond/pearl tilesets what so ever!

other wise there is great potential of a hack here guys.

In-Game Updates

Right now, the heroine's Front and Back sprites are done.
Now, I'm waiting for Nature Keeper to finish the OW sprite for the heroine.

Future Updates

I'm going to insert a pokemon into the game.
And what's more Route 255 might be finished soon.

What is Route 255?
It is one annoying route. If you don't prepare high leveled Pokemons or Repels, you might be easily knocked out by the wild pokemons. Almost every 1-10 steps you'll encounter a pokemon.

This is awsome!
But you should fix the Tile error on the roof of the pokemart and pokecenter,(There is no black outline on top.And you should Put an outline on The small tree too,Since it looks a little bit dull,Make sure u edit those,and your hack will be better!Anyways,Good luck on this Project!

Question. In the "Middle Beta", can you, or rather should you, not evolve pokemon? I'd like to know before I get started. Also, does this game have any support bars? I'd like to add it my list. Also, when I started the game, all I got was a white screen. Any way to fix this?

I'm with this guy. I've downloaded the IPS file (middle demo), patches it to a clean Ruby file, but it just comes up a white screen. I switched the Emulator save type around but it's still white.

First of all, I've woken up from a nightmare...
My internet went off for thewhole month!
Well anyways I did A LOT and I meant it A LOT of updates and the current rom is up to the league (well basically up to 5th gym)
Sadly, I need to find my usb drive to get all of my roms into this NEW computer which is the ONLY computer that can have access with the internet.
Also, the second trailer is out too.
I'll try to get the roms into this computer as soon as possible. ;)

Very nice. I especially like the Rayquaza OW sprite, but can I say something about it? It's coloring seems a bit off. It looks like it's a few shades darker than how Rayquaza looks like in battle, but mabe that's just me. The Dialga and Palkia OW sprites are looking good, so no problem there. Nothing much left to say, so...yeah. Looking good, and I hope to see even more updates soon.

This looks pretty good. Although i don't like the pallets of the small trees, i like the tiles and their pallets. Except the ground pallet, it seems un-natural.
The videos are good too and it'd be good to change hero's O/w.

The train should have shading to make it look better and more realistic.
In the cave, If a cave had no ceiling it would be a crater, and that latter would lead nowhere. (And there are some Tile errors.)
Also, Question: Have you ever fixed that ultimate fatal flaw?

any1 can tell me y is it i cant play a hacked ruby rom on my vba and gpsp?i can play a original rom but after i patch it and load the rom my vba screen stays white and if i load it on a gpsp it jus crashes my psp.but i can play the real original rom but not after it has patched.however i can play a hacked fire red rom.sum1 any1 pls help me

I don't know what is gpsp but you can go to the first page and go to the FAQ section.

These tiles look familiar... Did you insert them yourself, or take them from a ROM base I made (except the table... Not sure...)? They are exactly how I inserted them, so if you did take them from my ROM Base, I would like a little credit, de to the amount of times it took to get it like that, and the bugs I encountered made me start again... Took days. (If you are, little note, the Poke-Circle thing needs moving up one, I made special blocks that have the red overlap the shaded tile!)

After I tested it, I found it quite hard to use Espeon or Umbreon so I change it to Vampireon, Lucario and Sudowotree. However this is not the only reason... The other reason is because of the evolving problem (which seems unfixable...) If the starter can evolve, then the game would freeze :'(...
Now I'll be re-scripting every text to make it better ;)

I must say your hack has surely progressed over a period of time, and it looks you have been working very hard on it, one thing though which I think you need to improve is the overall graphics section of the game (disregarding pokedex etc.) I mean the new pokemon OW's, sprites, and such. Some look unrecognizable from anything which could resemble a pokemon and some are terribly 2d. I think really if you improved those and some of the tiles/pallets this could be one of the best hacks here and one of the few finished.

Uh-oh...this hack seems rather underrated...4 pages of replies in such a long time, and almost half of them are made by the author.
Pity.
Because this hack SHOULD get attention.
I went off from the start and saw that this guy here, has put such a lot of effort in this hack, and it has improved a whole lot. It's one of the hacks that WILL be finished, after a year of hard work. It pays off, if you ask me.

Over time, your tiles became better and better, and so did your sprites. Both still need to be worked on, though, but of course, you won't give up!

...Maybe you should try your luck on a new overworld for the main hero...just a yellow version of Red from FR/LG won't really amaze anyone. Just suggesting.

Also, I seem to be having the 'white screen' issue. I'll try a different Ruby ROM, I guess, but it's weird since it had no problems patching other Ruby Roms so far.

I haven't tested it so I can't say much at this point. My favourite fakemon of yours is Litagon, while I laughed at Eragon (about the name), even though it has very good shading, this one.

Well, I'll try the final version and when I get it to work I'll give you a more detailed review on the game. Cheers.

To complete the hack shows that you have way more dedication than most people here, and since I've been following this since Mid Marchish, if one hack I knew someone would pull through and finish, it was this one. (Not counting the HS or Ruby Destiny)

Though I agree with Panda, the sprites seem 2D. But compared to awhile ago, your tiles are so much better as is your mapping. Bottom line is that the sprites are the major downfall, with the help of that horrible bug, that prevents Evolution. If you could improve one thing, make your sprites look better and new OWs.

Great job and props to you, you deserve a congratulations for just managing to finish it unlike many other hacks here. Great job.

I just download the final version today and have made it to the 5th badge but when I talk to my dad in the back room the wally script runs again and I can't challenge him.

Also Vamperion doesn't have a pokedex entry.

Your headbutt trees looks exactly like the ones from Shiny Gold except for the bottom which looks like it's been given a cheap edit. I don't think Zel would appreciate his rvbamps being used in hacks such as yours, which doesn't seems to give a very good appeal and isn't of that good quality.

All I can say is that you need a bit more effort and less focus on graphics, which will make this hack flourish over time. :3

Your headbutt trees looks exactly like the ones from Shiny Gold except for the bottom which looks like it's been given a cheap edit. I don't think Zel would appreciate his rvbamps being used in hacks such as yours, which doesn't seems to give a very good appeal and isn't of that good quality.

All I can say is that you need a bit more effort and less focus on graphics, which will make this hack flourish over time. :3

I'm currently in my friend's house so I can't do much. :(
And yes I'm focusing on scripting. :)
