RMT that has worked, but now needs help...

RMT that has worked, but now needs help…

Aerodactyl @ Focus Sash

Jolly Nature

Ability: Pressure

252 attack/252 speed/6 HP

Stone Edge

Taunt

Earthquake

Stealth Rock

A great lead to start off with, starting things off with a stealth rock and then going in with a close or direct finishing blow. It works a ton for me during battle, but I’m open to any other great leads EXCEPT legendaries (I am a non-legendary user; I really refuse to use any even if they are OU or such).

Shuckle @ Leftovers

Calm Nature

Ability: Gluttony

252 HP/ 152 Def/ 100 SpD

Earthquake/Stone Edge

Toxic

Power Trick

Rest

An unbeatable wall, I just do not what could have been better to use than good old Shuckle. Honestly this little guy has gotten me out of many rough battles, and I really think it should remain on this team, but I am open for any ideas.

Arcanine @ Choice Band

Jolly Nature

Ability: Intimidate

252 Attack/252 Speed/6 HP

Flare Blitz

Extreme Speed

Roar

Thunder Fang

Using Arcanine on this team as a physical sweeper was just a brilliant idea for me, and it has come in handy at tough situations. I’m not so positive on Roar so I do not mind changing that for something more effective maybe.

Torterra @ Leftovers

Careful Nature

Ability: Overgrow

6 HP/252 Def/252 SpD

Wood Hammer

Protect

Leech Seed

Earthquake

WOW, what could I expect when having Torterra as a physical wall? With leech seed taking out Blissey and healing itself couldn’t be any easier. Also with Protect I can see the other moves the other player has along with gaining some life from leftovers. Having wood hammer and earthquake as STAB gives great battling support and well, what else can I say about Torterra besides he’s just great!

Milotic @ Leftovers

Mild Nature

Ability: Marvel Scale

4 HP/ 252 SpA/252 SpD

Recover

Toxic

Ice Beam

Surf

Okay I just have to say using Milotic as a Sp. wall has been a really good choice for this team. I wouldn’t mind using a faster moving Sp. Wall pokemon, but Milotic has been very satisfying to me.

Alakazam @ Choice Scarf

Rash Nature

Ability: Inner Focus

6HP/ 252 SpA/252 speed

Psychic

Charge Beam

Shadow Ball

Focus Blast

Okay, as for using Alakazam as a Special Sweeper and allowing it to hold the Choice Scarf outruns tons of fast moving pokemon in the OU battle categories. I chose Charge Beam as it raises my Sp. Atk almost every time, yet I do not mind changing it to something more beneficial. I have no complaints with Alakazam though, but if there are other pokemon out there much better for a Sp. Sweeper then I have no problems hearing you out.

Replace Alakazam With A Timid Choice scarf Gengar As Normal and Fighting Moves Dont Hit and Gengar is a good revenge killer
Seeing as most leads are now just offensive stuff u could live without taunt on Aerodactyl and maybe put something else on him??

hmmm, I'll have to think about this, I really would like to get more advice from others as well...but having Gengar can give me an advantage at some points...

wolf December 24th, 2008 8:39 AM

I don't really understand why Power Trick is on there because then his Defense is really low allowing a Physical Sweeper to just sweep. Well, you could use it against a Special Sweeper I guess... Take Roar off of Arcanine! Place in Iron Head (Iron Tail if you don't have Platinum), or shove in Overheat, it deals with Physical Walls. Switch Alakazam with Gengar as he is immune to Fighting and Normal.

Artemis December 24th, 2008 8:54 AM

OKay I think I really might make the switch between alakazam and gengar...because I'll have more immunites...I would have Iron Tail but I really do not like the low accuracy for it, so maybe there is something else??? and yes you hit it on the dot...power trick is for special sweepers...lol

Um...doesn't anybody out there have anythign else to say to help me build this team to be better???

. December 24th, 2008 11:09 AM

This team doesn't seem as if it was made with much thought, sorry. Some of the movesets and Pokemon in it are just plain bad, like Shuckle for example. Power Trick is an awful strategy, especially on something slow like Shuckle without Trick Room. If you want to use it, replace Aerodactyl, with Bronzong, as they can both Stealth Rock up and make great leads:

Bronzong @ Life Orb
Relaxed
252 HP/152 Att/8 Def/96 SpD
Trick Room
Stealth Rock
Explosion
Gyro Ball

It can make a great Trick Room lead. As for Milotic, you could replace it with Slowking for a second Trick Room starter:

Slowking @ Leftovers
Calm
212 HP/44 SpA/252 SpD
Surf
Ice Beam
Slack Off
Trick Room

Arcanine is a bad physical sweeper, it could be decent for a mixed one, but other than that, Infernape outclasses it entirely:

Infernape @ Choice Band
Jolly
252 Att/252 Spe/6 HP
Close Combat
Flare Blitz
Stone Edge
U-Turn

Artemis December 24th, 2008 11:27 AM

Okay...well I am open for many ideas...but I did try bronzong on this team before and it didn't work out too well...as for Slowking, I'd rather keep milotic because it has gotten me out of a lot of sticky situations...and Arcanine...there is no way I might want to replace it...he's done a lot for me!
as for trick room...I could always decide on going in with sleep talk maybe...that I do not mind...

If you're not open to suggestions, why post a thread ._. If you're gonna keep Arcanine, at least go Crunch >>> Roar. It's a pretty good option if you ask me.

Artemis December 24th, 2008 11:33 AM

YES!!! crunch is the move I was thinking about...I was really thinking of having that move for psychic and ghosts...thank you for that reminder...and no I am open for suggestions, it's just that I really wanted to keep the team as it is, because shuckle is my supporting wall...he has lasted through a DD waterfall and many other things...so I prefer to keep him...but what do u think of sleep talk?

I don't mind switching gengar in the team though and taking out alakazam...what do u all think of that?

. December 24th, 2008 11:36 AM

It sure would help your weakness to fighting types, Timid Scarf is nice =]. Plus Gar gets Tbolt.

Artemis December 24th, 2008 11:39 AM

What do u think of this???

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Thunderbolt
HP Ice
Shadow Ball
Hypnosis???

Anti December 24th, 2008 11:41 AM

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast / Trick
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Trick
- Thunderbolt / Trick

Hypnosis is just asking for trouble. You can fit in Trick wherever you want as long as you have coverage on the pokemon the move you're replacing was supposed to cover.

Scarfgar kinda sucks tho =/

Artemis December 24th, 2008 11:50 AM

um whats scarfgar mean??? lol...I'm had many Wifi battles and won so many of them in the OU tier and I do not know what a scarfgar is...LOL
and I'll take those tips u're all giving me...they seem to really be helping my team more and more...

ScarfGar= Gengar with a Choice Scarf attached. Look at Anti's set.

Artemis December 24th, 2008 12:04 PM

OH OKAY! duh....I should have known that...lol
but is it a really bad choice?

I'ts not a really bad choice, but EVERYTHING sets up on it, Pursuit decimates it, everything sets up on it, it can't hurt anything, everything sets up on it...etc.
