Huh? It's 2:46 PM here in January 1 [GMT +8]. Where do you live anyway?

Caelus December 31st, 2008 10:44 PM

Half of the United States is still in 2008, so I'm assuming that's where they live.

Stronkadonk December 31st, 2008 10:44 PM

I live in Michigan.
GMT -5
1:45 AM
So...
What theme do YOU use?

Aurafire December 31st, 2008 10:46 PM

I have a bad habit of always assuming people are in my timezone...But it's 1:45 A.M. where I live. I need to go to bed soon =P

Caelus December 31st, 2008 10:46 PM

Poke Link 4 blue, if that is what you were referring to.
If not, then I don't know.

Caelus December 31st, 2008 10:48 PM

I live in the Central Time zone, so It's 12:47 A.M here.

I live in Utah, so GMT -7

You must be getting tired of hearing happy new years, what with it happening 16 hours ago for you.
EDIT: Referring to Kishoku.

Aurafire December 31st, 2008 10:55 PM

Isn't there some point where there are two time zones next to each other that are a full day different from one another? That must be weird...hopping from one time zone to the next and losing and gaining days in a matter of seconds =P

And I'm using delibird's delivery since it's so darn awesome =D

Nick December 31st, 2008 10:57 PM

Yeah that's what I thought. It seems like that would cause some confusion for neighboring towns and such, unless it's postitioned so that the time change has a minimal effect on most people =P

The entirety of New Zealand is located to one side of the line, so time changes have little to no effect on the populace.

If you really want problems with time changes, try hopping from American Samoa to Fiji or Tonga and back.

I'd imagine that that is the most logical way to construct the time zones anyway.

I should go do that, just for the feeling that I might be time traveling....even though it would be nothing close to time travel =/

Yamikarasu December 31st, 2008 11:11 PM

Timezones are really confusing. China apparently gets to be all in one timezone while the US is split up into 6, 4 just including the continental US. The US and China are roughly the same size, what's the point?

Caelus December 31st, 2008 11:12 PM

Time zones used to be much more confusing back then. It wasn't until like a century ago when they finally made sense.

I always thought it was up to the country itself to decide how to divide up it's time zones. Maybe China just wanted to be cool and have one time zone. =P ...But there are 24 of them, so some sort of structure has to be in place.

I don't know how it works... but I would think it would just make more sense to have them evenly spaced throughout the globe. Oh well, it probably won't happen.

I suppose it'd just confuse everyone further. Even though some systems are screwy, until people actually have problems with them there might not be a big enough reason to change them.

But I'm not a fan of time zones either, heh.

Guillermo December 31st, 2008 11:19 PM

You should look at a map of the timezones. They're all jagged and ugly, most likely due to different country's influence in constructing them. I agree, it would be easier to make them even and be done with it =/

Some big countries need different time zones, heh. If Canada used one time zone, we'd either have the west coast not having the sunrise until the afternoon and the east coast having it setting after midnight, or vice versa. So seven time zones are perfect for Canada. ^_^

Alakazam17 January 1st, 2009 5:22 AM

Well, unlike in real life, we don't all have to be in the same room(or in this case forum) at the same time to communicate with one another. The only time time zones can really be annoying here(at least in my opinion) is in the WiFi forum, where you actually need both people online at the same time. 'Tis why I made Teams America & Europe in my WiFi Tourney. ^^

XD Yeah, too bad we don't have uber amounts of active wifi battlers from each section of the U.S., Australia, Canada, and Europe, we could just stage separate tourneys. Then again, we'd be denying ourselves a nice cultural experience by mixing fighters, and we wouldn't want that. ;)

Wait...do you know where Chibi's office key is!?!

Under the magic rainbow. It's opposite of the pot of gold, you see.

I don't think it's appropriate for 8 year old girls to be modeling anyway, right? =P

I'm a super model! I'm a super duper model! I haven't eaten in four weeks!

Mega props if you know where that's from.

Sooo I'm gonna be a judge for this pageant, anyone else want in? I tell ya, the competition is fierce this year. I mean an eight year old girl who was modded on a Pokemon forum with looks that kill to boot...how can you compete with that?

Yes. I was reading the last posts and I was wondering why everyone was talking about winning a pregnant. Hmm... 'pageant' makes more sense I suppose. :P

Aurafire January 1st, 2009 9:35 AM

Looks like this pageant (pregnant? XD) is getting intense. I hope I don't get pinched though...*grabs some popcorn* =P
