I'm perfectly fine with my DS lite, so I doubt I'll be upgrading to the DSi anytime soon. I mean yeah, it looks cool as hell, and has a ton of new features, but I...don't really see the point in spending $250 on a new DS when it plays the same games as before. Plus, I already have a camera and a laptop, so some of the newer features are kinda useless to me. It's definitely more convenient, but not really one of my top priorities right now. Oh, and what the hell, no gba slot? >O

In short, I would if I didn't already have a DS lite, but I just wanted something that could play DS games. I don't need all this other crap with it D:

I actually had that happen to me once since last year when I got my 360. I shipped it in to get fixed (Microsoft covers shipping/packaging charges), and they sent me a replacement unit. Since then, I haven't had any problems with my 360 ._.

Wow, I didn't know it can be fixed. >.<

Razer302 January 3rd, 2009 1:57 PM

A person at school has had his 360 break three times in two years. He is going to sell his 360 if it breaks again and will get a PS3 instead. It seems like the 360 isn't that reliable.

Netto Azure January 3rd, 2009 2:26 PM

Hmm...I'm planning to get a DSi if I have to money to do so ($180! O_o) But my only problem with it is the missing GBA Slot. It's a definite buy if it only has that...but now, I'm holding back due to that. D=
Well I chose GBA SP over the DS back in 2006 because I like the backward compatibility to the GBC Games and as it turns out it was the last new console that can play the Color and Metal Pokemon Games XD

Aurafire January 3rd, 2009 8:46 PM

I probably won't invest in a DSi....My regular DS is working fine and I really don't play it that much too get another one. Plus, the DSi doesn't play GBA games, which sucks =/

Angela January 3rd, 2009 8:51 PM

I have never heard of an DSI, what does she do different from the DS?

Caelus January 3rd, 2009 8:55 PM

I believe it can take pictures with that one thing on it's side (Not sure on this one), that and it's inability to play GBA games.

I might buy it when I have the money, but I don't know much about it.

cieux January 3rd, 2009 8:55 PM

i think i'll get a DSi. just for the sake of my ds collection. oh, that and, better sound = happy me. i don't play gba games anymore, so yeah. :x it's also really pretty and extra thin. and my touch screen is completely screwed from abusing it. ugh. ... or maybe i'll save my mom's money for something else. idk. i'll most likely get it. :\

edit: to add onto the above post, it apparently has higher sound quality, it's thinner, the screens are slightly larger, you can download content and play music and stuff on it, there is an sd card for it for various uses, and there will be a DSi shop. kinda like the wii shop. that's what i heard, at least.

Kura January 3rd, 2009 10:43 PM

DSI? I think I'll just stick to my DS.. if I really need to take a picture, I'll use my cellphone .__.;;

Karasuma January 3rd, 2009 10:59 PM

To be honest I'm not even sure what cellphone takes the best high quality picture. I always thought it was the iPhone though. It may be the new eclipse since its expensive o.o

Kura January 3rd, 2009 11:02 PM

I have no idea what takes the best pictures.. but if you find something with like.. 5 MP or higher then it'd be perfect for photos!~

Karasuma January 3rd, 2009 11:08 PM

Then again I could just buy me an expensive camera if i want to take shots, but i love the fact that cellphone's are getting more advanced as time passes...a 5 MP phone sure sounds awesome about now.

Kura January 3rd, 2009 11:19 PM

I heard that the iPhone wasn't that great ._. I dunno~
For now I'm sticking with my POS cellphone. I don't really care for gadgets and things..

Karasuma January 3rd, 2009 11:26 PM

I have a T-mobile samsung thats been with me for two years...its suffered a lot of dropping on cement floors though...
Not the fanciest phone but who cares as long as it can call/text people.

Kura January 3rd, 2009 11:30 PM

I have a samsung, too.. but I hate the interface.. the battery also runs out waayy too fast for my liking.. but I don't use it much so I just end up putting up with it .__.

Guillermo January 4th, 2009 12:16 AM

Motorola fails. The battery dies after a call and it doesn't stop beeping if I get a message and it wakes me up. :<

Kura January 4th, 2009 12:35 AM

:/ Yeah my mom and brother have Motorola and it seems to always have battery problems..
At least it's stylish and the reception is really good~

Guillermo January 4th, 2009 12:38 AM

I'll be getting a Nokia or something like that soon. :]

Alakazam17 January 4th, 2009 5:53 AM

I doubt that I'll ever get a DSi. If anything, I'll just get a new DS Lite if my current one ever fails. See, a little chunk of it came off and now the top is all floppy and the screen shines a brilliant shade of purple every once in awhile, heh. If that ever happens permanently, I'll be forced to get a new one, heh. But thanks to the DSi, that'll probably mean that the DS Lite will be much cheaper if I ever have to get another. ^_^

Sushi. January 4th, 2009 6:55 AM

I would still rather buy a DS then a DSi. Because I still love a couple of GBA games. >.<

I'm most likely never planned to get a cellphone for myself, because I don't really have much friends in life. And you have to pay the bills too. >.<

Volkner's Apprentice January 4th, 2009 8:33 AM

I've got Verizon. it works just fine, haha. I have the RaZor (or whatever it's called), iunno it's the black one with the full keyboard because I text like a maniac. I don't do my cell bill, the parents do since it's a family plan. XD

I don't want a DSi, not until they end up somehow forcing us to buy it by not allowing some games to be played on the Lite. However, I don't see that happening, giving the fact that no advanced game features were added.

I'm psyched for Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon to be released in February. Not to mention MARIO TENNIS: WII. Booyah.

Caelus January 4th, 2009 8:40 AM

I have a cellphone but I never bother using it. It gets on my dad's nerve but I just never use it unless I have to.

The only games I am looking forward to is Pokemon Platinum.

Aurafire January 4th, 2009 8:45 AM

Aaahhh I need a new cell phone so badly. I've had my current one for a year and a half it. It's still a decent phone, but not nearly as pretty as some of the new ones they have out now. (That new blackberry looks amazing =P)

Soul Eater January 4th, 2009 8:46 AM

I have T-mobile. In fact, my whole family does. Well, me, my mom and my aunt that is. My aunt lives in Maine though but my mom is ALWAYS in touch with her, since they are sisters.

I have a cellphone but I only use it for emergencies. That usually isn't very often. XD

I want Pokemon Ranger. :< I didnt get it for christmas like i wanted and I have played any of the Ranger games. There is alot of games I want. XD I wouldnt mind getting more Phoenix Wright games. I already beat the other two that I have. They are so much fun because I have a huge thing for mystery/detective games like Nancy Drew. XD

Razer302 January 4th, 2009 8:46 AM

I have had my phone for 6 months, but it is an old model. I would love a new one but there better things I want to buy first.

Mine is a flip phone. I like those better because if its in your purse, or in your pocket or something, you cant accidently push the wrong buttons. XD

Chibi-chan January 4th, 2009 8:51 AM

I use Sprint. It's....pretty bad...
My phone is six years old! ^o^
It doesn't support Bluetooth and it's all chunky and silver~~
It's funny we're on phones though, I'm getting a new one for free because I've had mine for so long.

I wish I had T-Mobile...those phones look so cool...>_>

Geez, Chibi, need a new phone much? XD

Yeah, T-mobile has really cool phones. T-mobile has very good service too and I have a razr phone. XD It's a really neat phone and it has a camera phone too! So I can take pictures when I don't have my camera. :3 The only draw back is the bright magenta pink color. I'm not very found of pink but...it was my mom's so that's why its pink. XD

I have a slide phone. I have had two different types of this phone as the first one broke. I love the phone and doubt I will change it for a long time. It being on contract is great. I have unlimited texts so I am never out of the gossip.

My mom has one of those. Her's is black.

Yeah, we have that too. We have the family plan where you get unlimited texting and unlimited calling to anyone who has T-mobile and on the weekends, to anyone regardless of their service...or something like that.

My mom has a company phone so whenever we have to make a call we all just use her phone. I wish I was on T-mobile now and not O2. Sounds like a better deal. than what I have as I don't get calls.

I don't think I've ever heard of that before. D: Also, what is O2 again?

Razer302 January 4th, 2009 9:23 AM

O2 is a phone company.

My mums phone is paid for by her work, so it a company phone. But as long as we don't use it to much for personal use we can make calls from it.

You mean mostly for emergencies? Because if anything would be important it would have to be emergencies.

Nope. We can use it for anything. It mainly used after a show has finished and my mum wants to know what her sister though of it and then they have a big long talk. The company doesn't check what the phone is used for as long as the bill isn't to high. If the bill is way to much then my mum would have to pay the company for whatever non company related calls she has made.

Metatron January 4th, 2009 9:44 AM

I'm using AT&T for my wireless carrier, which seems to work great everywhere except when calling from my own house xD;

As for my phone, I'm stuck using this crappy razr for another 2 months. I used to have a much nicer phone (It was a samsung, but I totally forget what model x_x), but I kind of *accidentally* destroyed it, and my parents decided that they wouldn't pay for another phone(the razr was free), seeing as I went through roughly 4 or 5 in the last year XD;;

Yamikarasu January 4th, 2009 10:18 AM

I have a Palm Centro, but they really aren't as great as they seem. My mom disabled all the cool stuff like internet and picture sharing so now its just a really expensive basic phone. Plus, the connector chord broke so I can't take pictures and upload them to my computer, and if that wasn't enough, the screen is cracked, so the touch screen doesn't work. :/

Oh yeah, its on Sprint.

Jack O'Neill January 4th, 2009 10:28 AM

I'm one of the few people here who doesn't have a cell phone. Personally, I'm quite surprised at how I've been able to manage without one all this time.

Aurafire January 4th, 2009 10:28 AM

It sucks that the cell phone companies make you wait 2 years before you can get a new phone at a discounted price. You'd think that they'd let a current customer upgrade their phone after a year or so at a decent price, but I haven't been able to upgrade mine since I got it a few summers ago. I think that's how they make all their money X(

Sorano January 4th, 2009 10:31 AM

My cell phone company makes me wait 3 years before getting a new cell phone at a discounted price. It's horrible, I still have to wait a few months. I have a pink RAZR V2, and I'm so sick and tired of it that it makes my eyes gush blood every time I look at it. ;; It's not as dramatic, but I still despise it dearly.

CURSE YOU ROGERS.

luke January 4th, 2009 10:33 AM

I use Verizon. It's awesome (especially here in NY). I was recently rated the top cell phone company in America. My mom works for a company that gets discounts from Verizon as well, so I usually get 20% off everything I buy from them.

Lucy Lu January 4th, 2009 10:44 AM

I use T-Mobile. I been using them for almost four years. Well this December it will be four years. And my contract will be up. I am going to stick with them because they have the best plans out there. My family uses T-Mobile. It is free if I talk to them.

I am going to upgrade my phone when my contract ends. I want to get a phone that slides and have a keyboard so I can text. XD Because right now I have a flip phone(A Motorola RAZR V3). It is nice, but I think it is time for me to get a different phone. And they have great deals if you upgrade! Like I can get a phone that is free! =D

If I want to get a new phone for a discounted price, I have to wait two years for that. But it is fine. ^^ Maybe after this year I won't upgrade again. Who knows.

Actually, I hardly ever use my cell phone either, its nice to be able to call someone whenever you need to, but as for chatting, Messenger and Facebook pretty much make cell phones obsolete.

BakingBluePotatoe January 4th, 2009 11:09 AM

I have a Samsung Rant. To bad I can't really take advantage of the QWERTY Keyboard cuz I don't have the Data Services or whatever enable so.... no IM or any internet

Dad apparently pays for TXTing, but it never seems to work.......

I have Sprint.

Percy Thrillington January 4th, 2009 11:35 AM

I'm with Vodafone, which is pretty much Ireland's biggest network. I've been stuck with the same Nokia phone for about half a decade. I don't really care though, 'cause all I need my phone for is texting and calling. Being able to video people and being able to mess around with polyphonic ringtones doesn't really interest me so... yeah.

Actually, do they even use the word polyphonic to describe ringtones anymore?

And yes, I only realised this thread existed about five minutes ago. Let's never bring that fact into conversation. Ever.

Aegis January 4th, 2009 11:45 AM

OMG! Another iPhone fan. They're so hard to find lately. I'm probably going to be getting an iPhone within the next few weeks. I was supposed to get it a while ago, but a series of unfortunate events occured and paychecks lingered and all of that. I really can't wait. Hopefully by the time May comes around, in which I'll be going to Canada, I'll have it so I can do... various things. I'm sure it won't be a problem for whoever purchases me it since my old phone was just cancelled or something... whatever it is where they cancel your phone number. So now I HAVE to get a new phone. Woot! And, I assure you, that new phone WILL be an iPhone.

I just got an ipod touch for Christmas, and I loveloveloveLOVE it! It's so amazingly amazing and I swear I'd be Mrs. Ipodtouch if I could :3. There's internet, weather, notes, music, videos, games, and lots more. I just wish my parents would let me take it to school so I could use it at lunch. :/

Sneak it out. You should upgrade to the iPhone. >:3

One more feature never hurts. <3

Azzurra January 4th, 2009 4:21 PM

I can't afford to upgrade to the "iPhone". I wasted my last 600 dollars on a small trip to another state.

Aurafire January 4th, 2009 4:44 PM

Maybe I'll get one for my birthday. That's actually when the plan with my current phone runs out, so it would make sense to invest then. My friend who lives across from me has one and I'm uber jealous =(

Azzurra January 4th, 2009 4:55 PM

Well, you could "borrow" their iPhone for an undetermined amount of time? Or, you could go and ask for a new plan at another store which is offering a plan involving an iPhone.

Guillermo January 4th, 2009 4:57 PM

iPhone's are almost the same as an iPod Touch. They can both have games and stuff, but you can call and message people on an iPhone.

Azzurra January 4th, 2009 5:00 PM

My dad has an Ipod Touch, and it's actually not that great. The screen broke when he left it outside overnight.

Volkner's Apprentice January 4th, 2009 5:09 PM

I can't really ask for an iPhone even though I'm sure it's fun. :P I just got a Video Nano last Christmas as well as the Samsung flip phone with the keyboard 1 1/2 years ago.

But I have a MacBook to compensate. <3

No. You throw the iPod touch away and ditch your current cellphone and ask for an iPhone, claiming it saves money.

iPod Touches are good, but they're fat things. :<

I've got an iPod Nano Chromatic and a friggin' Motorola V3. ;;

Aurafire January 4th, 2009 5:53 PM

The only reason I got my iPod touch is because it came free with my computer because of a college student discount. But having the touch really really makes me want the phone. It looks like the most convenitent thing ever. But yeah, they are expensive =/

True Reign January 4th, 2009 6:10 PM

I don't see the point of an iPhone. Their too expensive for my taste and way to overrated. I'd rather have an old Samsung then have one, anyday.

Yamikarasu January 4th, 2009 6:12 PM

I would probably go with the iPod touch over the iPhone, simply because I already have a phone that works (but just barely) and there aren't any expensive monthly payments. It's too bad the iPod touch has a small memory compared to the iPod classic.

That's my only nitpick about the Touch :/

I'm thinking of buying a nano just to fit the rest of my songs ..

O_O I don't see how you could do that, depending on where you live. I'm in a village-in-the-woods type of neighborhood in upstate NY and we get no service at my house. I have to stand in like a particular spot to use my cell, so we definitely need the home line. XD

My phone actually is the only phone my family uses, since its just me and my mom at home. It works fine, we live in a city so it gets good reception. Although, sometimes I forget to turn it off silent when I get home from school so we miss calls.

Sublime January 4th, 2009 6:39 PM

I get wonderful reception at my house. 8D
In fact, I've found that Altell gets great reception just about anywhere.

There is a payphone in front of this corner store just outside of where I live. That is what I use to make my phone calls, XD. It's usually fine, but last winter there was this huge snowbank in front of it, and as a result I had to partially climb the thing and dig the phone out.

One of these times, a family from Australia walked by and took a picture of me doing this, XD. They wanted to show all their friends back home how Canadians use the telephone. :D

Ahahaha, poor Bill! Yeah, really, Aussies can take the snow home with them if they want. >_> We have wayyy too much.

Alakazam17 January 4th, 2009 6:51 PM

I never asked them for a copy, XD. But somewhere in Australia some people are laughing at a picture of me while being thankful they don't have to deal with such things. ^^

Sublime January 4th, 2009 6:54 PM

I want some of yalls snow ;_;
We don't get any in Florida.

How about a trade? Hurricanes for snow? xD

Alakazam17 January 4th, 2009 6:58 PM

Snow can make it to Florida, unlike Australia. XD

My dad is a truck driver, and he told me once of a rush load he had to take from Ontario to Florida. When they opened the trailer up down there, there was still some snow inside! Many of the Floridians who hadn't seen snow before took some time off from their jobs so that they could have their first snowball fight. :D

Guillermo January 4th, 2009 7:00 PM

How can we go from phones and iPod's to snow? This is why I love the DCC.

Snow is win. I miss it since I moved from England to Australia. D:

Sublime January 4th, 2009 7:00 PM

The last snow in my part of Florida was in 1993.
I was 1 year old.

The only other time I've seen snow is in Tennesee.

devilicious January 4th, 2009 7:02 PM

There's no snow in Brazil. Besides a couple flakes that fall down when you're on top of a mountain and it's at least -10 ºC.

And yes, it sucks.

Yamikarasu January 4th, 2009 7:02 PM

Well there's half a foot of snow outside my window at the moment. I can't wait until it melts.

Tyrantrum January 4th, 2009 7:04 PM

I miss snow too. ;;

I used to live in New Jersey, so there was snow there.
I'm in Arizona, and the only place to go get snow here is Flagstaff...three hours from where I live. :<

When I was in New Jersey..on the last day before we left, it started snowing..very little though! :D

Volkner's Apprentice January 4th, 2009 7:05 PM

-_- Cereally, people, just take it. We're getting sleet tonight, followed by a snowstorm on Wednesday. DRIVING = NOT SO MUCH FUN.

Haha. Oh New York...It's good around Christmas time, but when it's still here in late March it gets to the gtfo point.

Sushi. January 4th, 2009 7:07 PM

Wow, I never knew that snow can make it to Florida. :X
Whats next? Chuch Norris eats up to 10,000 pretzels?

Okay, that was the lamest Chuck Norris joke ever. >.<

Caelus January 4th, 2009 7:11 PM

I live in the midwest so I expect at least an inch of snow each day, and I usually get to miss school because of that (It happened four times last semester).
Most places I visit tend to never have snow even when it's winter.

Guillermo January 4th, 2009 7:12 PM

Chuck Norris jokes are lame and old.

So are 'your mom' jokes, and that never stopped them from being amusing.

Agreed.

"That's what she said" is where it's at.
xD

Yamikarasu January 4th, 2009 7:19 PM

Meh, they're all funny when they're funny. :/

I'd lol at a good your mom/chuck norris joke any day.

Guillermo January 4th, 2009 7:22 PM

We did your mum jokes in year six.
