The Smeargle style changer makes it easier to find a good theme, in my opinion at least.
As much as I hate setting things to friends only, I find it to be useful if you don't want anyone to randomly VM you.
I already took advantage of it in areas besides PC.

Sublime February 5th, 2009 7:57 PM

I like random VM's ^^
It gives me a chance to meet new people :]

Her February 5th, 2009 8:00 PM

Unless it's a utter n00b, then I guess that random VM's are fine with me.

Caelus February 5th, 2009 8:00 PM

Same, but in areas like SPPF I can't help but keep my self away from everyone else.
That's the only place where I have set everything to Friends only.
As I said earlier, it can be useful.

X-626 February 5th, 2009 8:04 PM

I also like random VMs. I've made a few friends (though, I only actually talk to one) through VMs. I like it. Although, I can also understand people not wanting to receive random ones.

Caelus February 5th, 2009 8:09 PM

It's apparently been forgotten; I did not even know it was there until Pamela Anderson mentioned it.
It was pretty useful when I first used it, though.
If there's one thing I like it's whenever someone sends me a VM. I'm more than happy to reply to just about every VM I receive.

Donnie February 5th, 2009 8:19 PM

lol not for me, im not a people person. i rely on friends ive alredy made. idk why though.

:D

Anyway, I enjoy the random VM also. Even though I usually hold VM convos every day, it's nice to talk to a few new faces.

Caelus February 5th, 2009 8:37 PM

Most of my VM convos are started by someone else, and it usually lasts for a page or two.
Some of my conversations lasted for 6-9 pages, but that only occurs when the member I'm talking to has a lot of free time, otherwise they end up being short-lived.

Sublime February 5th, 2009 8:39 PM

My three most common VM convos are 200 something pages, 100 something pages and around 75 pages.

I talk alot. xD

Wow, that's a lot of pages! You do like to talk a lot. Nothing wrong with that, though. If I get to know someone, I like to talk a lot, too.

not really considering its only like 6 VMs per page

Her February 5th, 2009 8:51 PM

I reckon theres about 15 per page.

No, theres 10.

PiroMunkie February 5th, 2009 9:05 PM

I talk more through my VMs than I do through private messages or in posts here on the forums. Now that this topic was brought up and I decided to check, I feel sort of lame in the sense that I am the one that is always starting the conversations I have through VM. Haha, oh well.

Her February 5th, 2009 9:13 PM

Private Messages are becoming redundant.

SAVE THE PM!
(Not adding s, lol)

Our convos beat my total VM's xD

Aizuke February 6th, 2009 1:14 AM

I suppose PM's are just longer versions of a VM.

Though VM's are easier in a way. I haven't PM'd someone for a while, nor do I get PM anymore.

Lately I've been lazy with VM's though, lol. D:s

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ February 6th, 2009 2:36 AM

I use a combination of both, depending on the length and nature of the message. VM's are a good substitute for chat and help organize wi-fi trades. However, I still get some arranged through PM as well.

Yeah.

Percy Thrillington February 6th, 2009 4:34 AM

If my conversation with someone should be best kept private, we'll use PMs. Apart from that, I've been relying on VMs for all my social needs.

I was gonna ask how that worked until it clicked in my head. XD;

VMs are amazing. I swear I wouldn't talk to a lot of people if they weren't there. :[

So basically you are one of the lazy types, huh?

Yeah. I sometimes stop and ask myself how I managed to stay on forums without the 3.7 upgrade. Everything before that seems so primitive to me.

Yup. I don't even bother with MSN unless I talk to them a lot. XD;

I can't imagine PC without the VM system really. It's always been there for me. o3o
