What do you hate about chaining?

For shiny poke's?
Or anything for that matter.

For me.
It's either.

When I'm high in a chain and look away quickly to see something and miss the shakes and stumble upon the wrong patch of grass and get my chain broken.

Or when there a patch right in front of me that shakes but I don't notice.

How about you?

I hope this doesn't get locked ._.

Blue_Drifblim January 15th, 2009 6:30 PM

I hate stepping into patches that I didn't see. They flash too darn fast sometimes. Look away for half a second and BAM! >_> But I still try my best. It's all worth it in the end.

+Poochyena+ January 15th, 2009 6:44 PM

I hated how I was THIS close to a shiny, a patch to correct, when a Bidoof ruined it! I HATE YOU BIDOOF!

Azonic January 15th, 2009 6:47 PM

When you work so hard and for so long, and it's up to chance to ruin your chain.

Her January 15th, 2009 6:50 PM

lol, first Pokemon post in a couple of months.

Personally, I hate it when I get a shiny that I have, like, ten of.

reddogs52 January 15th, 2009 6:59 PM

I hate it when you forget about the max repels or run out etc

MartinNFLFalcon January 15th, 2009 7:11 PM

Oh oh.
I hate it when I am using a pokemon that runs out of PP for a move >.>
It's annoying.
This happened to me with raichu because I forgot to buy Elixirs and such.
And I needed to keep him in my 1 slot of my part to make my chance of a shinx encounter high.

reddogs52 January 15th, 2009 7:12 PM

ha ha you wanted a shiny shinx :D

TwilightBlade January 15th, 2009 10:51 PM

I hate chaining for hours and catching multiple shinies when none of them have good natures/IVs. '^'

This hasn't happened to me, but if 2 shiny patches appeared or if the shiny patch appeared where a NPC stood, I would shoot myself.

I hate Bidoof for obvious reasons. xD

QFT. Random breaks on perfect grass patterns are the worst part.

The devaluing of shinies comes in second. They ought to have designed the Radar to reset the chain counter (as used in the shiny patch calculation, not what's in the Poketch) once a shiny patch has been entered. That way, you'd need to chain to 80, save for early shiny patches, to get your second shiny! >=]

Wait, what? Having certain pokemon in your party increases chances of finding certain pokemon?

sorry for derail. and if my question was common knowledge of pokemon then i've been missed out of the loop

MartinNFLFalcon January 16th, 2009 5:27 AM

Having a pokemon with Static ability increases the rate of electric pokemon encounters to 150%
Having a pokemon with Magnet ability increases steel encounters to 150%

=]

Caelus January 16th, 2009 12:43 PM

I hate whenever you spend countless hours in one area before realizing that you just wasted your time.
If I found the pokemon I was looking for then I'm happy and all but if it hasn't made an appearance yet then I get frustrated.

I also hate it whenever the chain breaks, especially when I've been chaining for awhile.

wolf January 16th, 2009 12:51 PM

I usually get lucky at chaining! rofl Anyways, I hate how the shaking is so fast, definitely when I am watching something!

hothead January 17th, 2009 3:34 AM

i hate when u do everything right u step in to the furthest away patch but yet the chain still stuffs up i hate when that happens

Shaterpie January 17th, 2009 9:44 AM

I hate Starly and Bibarel showing up for no apparent reason with their crappy, moronic cries.

MartinNFLFalcon January 17th, 2009 9:48 AM

After a while all of their cries get annoying.
Especially after hearing them in a 40+ chain >.<

Gunners January 17th, 2009 9:49 AM

I hate when i blink or a bidoof breaks the chain.

I blinked in the second chain and walked into a random patch and got a shiny machop rofl. All i had was... a magikarp i was EV training in attack. i was like OMFG WTF

Spinor January 17th, 2009 7:14 PM

I don't hate anything about chaining. :D

I just hate chaining >:o.

Let's just say I never made it past a 20. I am too unlucky on this.

Haza January 17th, 2009 7:19 PM

I hate when it breaks but Its hard to do it the way I do. I chain til I find the shiny pokemon with a good nature.

Steven15 January 17th, 2009 8:20 PM

I hate it when I finally find a shiny patch and a regular wild pokemon ruins it!

The Post Count January 17th, 2009 11:00 PM

I hate it when the pokemon you want is like 1000 steps away and you touch a grass that wiggled so lightly that you didnt see the wiggle XD
