I personally do not like Obama.

I do not wish to go into it either.

I'll leave it with a simple no, but I can deal with him.

~Mooshykris

ps: Really, Bush wasn't THAT bad, we're all still alive, aren't we?

Kazukii January 18th, 2009 8:15 AM

Yeah, Obama's great. I'm sure he'll do a much better job than George Bush ever did.

Evilyn January 18th, 2009 8:22 AM

I couldn't care less, I'm not even American. The world is screwed either way. One person alone can't change everything. And how did Bush become president? People voted for him and were like "He's the best, he'll make America a better place! <3" and look at him now. Why do you think Obama will be any different? Everybody just sees him as god because of his skin colour. He's black. ... So what? I can't wait to see someone throw a shoe at Obama after a couple of years.

Yay. Just..yay. Haha.

Yeah, I don't like Obama, and due to the same reasons the other (possibly 4?) people stated, I'm not gonna go into it. He's already our new President, and I can live with it, but I shant be thrilled.

kingofjokers January 18th, 2009 9:31 AM

yea but some people say he wont get relected

Because they're obviously very capable of predicting the future.

Starway January 18th, 2009 9:49 AM

I like him, his econimic plan to bring America out of this crisis is very well thought out. I trust him very much to bring America back to way it should be.

Aurafire January 18th, 2009 9:51 AM

I find it amusing that some people here cite "Bush sucked" as the reason why they like Obama. As far as I'm concerned, that's not even a reason at all. But why should I even bother....

This is a misleading question. Do I like Obama? Sure, I don't hate the guy. I'm sure he would be a cool person to meet. What I don't like is his policies and the direction he wants to take the country in. I'm worried that his presidency will move us toward a bigger government with more spending and programs, which I am not in support of. I'm also worried about some of the domestic changes he could bring about. I could go on, but I'll leave it at that I guess lest I start a huge debate again XD

Yamikarasu January 18th, 2009 9:58 AM

I like Obama as a person. I like his ideas, and what he has promised. Only time will tell if he lives up to those promises, but I think he will.

So yes, I "like" Obama, but that isn't what really is important now is it? I just hope that the other branches of the government are willing to work quickly (lolwut?) with him. We need to get this terrorist business dealt with so we can start working on more important projects like universal healthcare, making the world a better place, etc.

I wouldn't worry about that seeing as campaign promises =/= what he's actually going to do, and nobody can really know what effect his policies will have. Not to like, turn this into a political debate thread X]

I like Obama. He seems to be a hopeful guy, which is always nice since there doesn't seem to be a lot right now. I mean, I don't agree with the guy on everything, but he seems to be smart and capable, which is more than our current president or pathetic Congress can say.

Midnight Beat January 18th, 2009 10:01 AM

Not at all. I didn't like him right off the bat, and he hasn't given me reason to yet. He has made WAY to many promises that he can't keep, and it's going to come back at him. The people expect way too much out of him, most of which he has no chance of getting done. Not to mention that he is more of a celebrity than a politician. This country is in for a rude awakening...

dewey January 18th, 2009 10:06 AM

meh i dont like him. i dont like his policies or most anything that he has to say. all he can do is say nothing really well.

p.s. also wtf like half of the ppl arent even informed about him. theyre like he's awesome and super cool and gives me cookies and wtf?!>.>

the bitter end. January 18th, 2009 11:54 AM

I don't have anything against him, I mean, I was against him in the election, but that's only because I thought McCain would be better, not that Obmama was bad...

An-chan January 18th, 2009 12:58 PM

Maybe I think this way because I've grown up in a country that actually gives its citizens free education (even university and college) and health care and so on, but I really believe Obama has a point. For years I've heard stories of USA's insufficient health care system and all the trouble parents have to go trough to get their kids to a good university, and I've heard these from people who live in the US. To me, it seemed a lot like the policies of the government were in favor of the rich people.

I also believe it is very good to have middle-class people as politicians. EU policians are revolting because they seem to think they are way above the average people. If the politican actually is one of the average people, some problems and stupidites in laws can be fixed or avoided. Obama hasn't been a very rich person most of his life, so he should know what normal life is like. Bush has been rich for his entire life.

But those reasons are small and unimportant next to my main reason for liking Obama over Bush and McCain. That reason is the fact that I believe Obama doesn't want to go to war. War is a part of foregin policy, and as a foreigner, that concerns me the most. I don't want any more wars. Now that the situation in Russia is only getting worse, I can see some light shining from the United States of America. If Obama really is who he seems to be, there won't be another Afghanistan nor Iraq. And I sincerely hope he is.

That's why I like him.

~SilverSoul January 18th, 2009 5:35 PM

The reason that we're in a bad money crisis (or mostly the reason) is because Bush decided we needed to butt in Iraq's business. Sure, taking out their leader made them happy, but now the people in Iraq hate Americans. McCain thought that we needed to be there until "we won." ??? What are we winning here exactly? And before anybody says anything about bombs or anything else, our army is apparently not finding anything. They need to come back home and worry about protecting USA. The country is spending billions of dollars there that we could be spending back at home to help the country.

I love how Obama is against the war and is thinking about bringing everyone home. I'm not saying I hate Bush, but he has kind of made some bad choices. Maybe Obama won't keep all the promises he has said he will make, but it's good to see some new leadership to hopefully help us in this war nightmare.

^ What she said. Everybody seems to be voting for him because of his skin colour. Like, if somebody says they don't like Obama, everybody thinks your racist and blah blah blah. I hate people like that. >.<

Ruphire January 18th, 2009 5:47 PM

I personally don't like him. One thing I don't like is how a MAJORITY of the people who voted for him just voted for him because he's black. I'm not saying everybody did but I know that's what a lot of people did. Also I agree with ^

Bet you can't say the same about soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's really hard to give an answer seeing as he hasn't done anything yet. But with the way the country is now, he seems like the ideal person for the job and I'm really happy he got elected. I wish I could stay home for his Inauguration Speech but I have finals.

Allstories January 18th, 2009 6:59 PM

I like Obama. I like that he is charismatic, has a lot of good policies, and that he doesn't treat intellectualism like it's a swear word.

I wish people could look and see that Obama was elected because he was the best choice in America's eyes. Do you think that everyone would just say "I'm voting for him because he's black!" especially in the crisis we're in now? Personally, I thought McCain sounded stiff while he was talking......like he was keeping a secret or something. Obama seems a little more sincere and honest. But I'll just leave it at that before I get too into it.

AuraAshley January 18th, 2009 7:10 PM

main reason i like obama is because he made history by being the 1st black president

Lucy Lu January 18th, 2009 7:21 PM

Yeah I actually like Obama because he is going to help the US and other countries get out of debt. Well he probably won't do it all, but at least some of it. And give the people more jobs. And get affordable health care to families that can't afford it alone. It seems he got a game plan for the economy and I am looking forward to see what it is. And he is seem so intelligent. He knows what he is doing. And he is the first President of a different race. See? Any race can be President. It doesn't need to be one race only. He made history for that. But he will make history for the other stuff as well. We are going to be saved! Probably by his next term.

I honestly wouldn't count on that. The whole country can't turn around and be perfect in eight years. But it can start. good luck obama.

Yeah I guess you are right about that. He probably won't fix everything, but it is start if he did something. I think he will do fine. ^^

No we are not. The people who post here are alive, but what of the 1000's of dead in the Middle East. Bush was horrible as a President, not a person.

Personally, I like Obama very much. I can't wait to vote for him in 2012.

Also, this thread should be closed, things will be all flames by Tuesday
