URGH
That was a pants PPV IMO. The best part was Shane-O teasing the Punt and then getting a SICK RKO from no where, and HBK's SuperKick was hellaciuos!!!

But thats it.
Im fed up with Edge winning now, he's bascially redoing what HHH did several years ago and its P'ing me off.

Super Smash Kid February 16th, 2009 12:45 PM

Edge's winning is always cool. Happy John Cena lost the title to him.

mewthree w/armor February 16th, 2009 5:46 PM

That last night was a good, but confusing PPV.

Great that Edge lost
Great that Cena lost
Confusing that Edge won

I loved the first match being the Elimination Chamber.

Satino doesn't have a unibrow anymore. They're ruining him. Wait, Satino just got beat up by women, forget it.

Backstage Problems In TNA

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- Among some of the top wrestlers in TNA, there is said to be very little respect for the company these days, with one wrestler specifically naming Booker T as a prime example. Morale underneath is also said to be down, similar to the atmosphere in World Championship Wrestling during its dying days.

One TNA wrestler offered comments to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer regarding the current backstage atmosphere after reading his thoughts on the problems plaguing the organization.

"You hit the nail on the head with the top guys just having no respect for the place," the TNA wrestler said. "They just d*** around and don't give a s*** what they do. House shows are an even bigger joke.

Take Booker, when he first came in he was gung ho about helping out the younger guys, contributing to the company and now he's the worst and doesn't give a s***."

There is also a feeling that if the wrestlers on the low end of the card performed as badly as some of the wrestlers being pushed at the moment, they'd be fired. However, the wrestlers working badly week after week remain pushed.

"It all starts with the booking. Like you said, it seems as if they have no care of good or bad."

Chris Benoit Ban Lifted

Written by Richard Gray

- "Chris Benoit celebrates his World Championship win with Eddie Guerrero as confetti fills Madison Square Garden – WrestleMania XX" is featured as one of the Top 50 Moments in WrestleMania History on the official WWE website. You can check it out at this link. It certainly appears as if WWE has significantly backed off of their Chris Benoit ban from history. Thanks to WNW reader Alan for sending that tidbit in.

Mid-card talent is what makes the WWE. Edge, Jeff Hardy, Triple H and even (shudders) John Cena were all Mid-carders at some point in their careers.

Plus now WWE can actually use their Mid-carders instead of paying them to do nothing.

In other news:
Vince McMahon is now trying to stop WWE storylines leaking onto the internet;

Spoiler:
Vince McMahon was quite vigilant in making sure that reports of Edge working both Elimination Chamber Matches at Sunday's No Way Out pay-per-view did not hit the Internet before the show.

McMahon was unhappy to say the least (which is putting things mildly) when word got out on Christian being pegged as the guy who attacked Jeff Hardy near a stairwell on the morning of the Survivor Series pay-per-view. This led to a change in plans as Matt Hardy ended up with Christian's spot on SmackDown and Christian getting Matt's top babyface spot on ECW.

To make sure that nobody on WWE's crew knew what was going to happen, McMahon actually ordered the ring crew to put a monstrous tarp over the entire Elimination Chamber in order to prevent people from seeing who was in the ring as the wrestlers worked out how the match was going to be scripted.

So, thanks to the internet rumors of Christian being the man who attacked Jeff backstage at Survivor Series we now have a Matt vs Jeff thing going on and Christian is now on ECW.

Thank you internet, thanks a lot.

Vernikova February 19th, 2009 8:47 AM

I understand that mid-card talent is important but that doesn't mean I have to like it. It doesn't matter if McMahon succeeds in stopping leaking storylines in my opinlon.

Anyway, I'm going to attempt to watch TNA Impact tonight.

WWE Cuts Another Superstar
Written by Luke Parks

- WWE.com announced today that Smackdown Superstar Scotty Goldman has been released:

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Scotty Goldman (Scott Colton) as of February 20, 2009. WWE wishes Scott the best in all future endeavors.

- Goldman debuted on Smackdown back in August in a loss to The Brian Kendrick. Goldman was used sparingly in the past few months. He was the host of the WWE.com show "What's Crackin' with Scotty Goldman."

- Goldman, also known as "Classic" Colt Cabana, is best known for his work in Ring of Honor as well as the short-lived Wrestling Society X.

WWE lost a major talent with this one, his work in WSX was better then good. Shame.

Smackdown lately has sucked. Hasn't been good in a few years as the WWE is developing no good talent, AND the good Talent they bring in from TNA is never used well. Also, they strip off talent to support the shitty show called RAW. That show is so bad compared to the 1990's its not even funny.

Another Wrestler Departing From TNA Wrestling
By Daniel Pena

source: PWInsider.com

X Division wrestler Sonjay Dutt, 26, is the latest wrestler to part ways with TNA. His contract was coming up next month and the two sides weren't able to come to terms on a new deal.

The departure caught a few people by surprise as he was a big part of the company's face in India, where Impact is a high rated show.

While he hadn't been used much in recent months, his name was still coming up in creative meetings as recently as last week, so company officials were looking to keep him on board until sometime this weekend.

As a result of Dutt's departure from the organization, it remains to be seen where SoCal Val goes from here. She had been working as his valet in recent months following the conclusion of his feud with "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal.

The TNA website has already removed his profile from the roster page, thus confirming his departure from the organization.

Vernikova February 22nd, 2009 9:38 AM

Debut Set For "WWE Superstars" Show, Three WWE Stars Up For Award
By Daniel Pena

-- The official website of WGN America is running a contest for a trip to two to WrestleMania XXV in Houston, Texas. The contest ends two weeks from new on March 8th with runner-ups receiving copies of WWE's Legends of WrestleMania video game. To enter the contest, click here.

WGN America is also running ads on television for the contest, as well as the new "WWE Superstars" show. According to the ad, the show will debut on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. The ad says Superstars from RAW, SmackDown and ECW will be on the program.

As reported earlier today, the WWE Draft scheduled for April 13th at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia will be a three-hour program. Due to the three-hour Draft, WWE probably won't be able to tape a slate of matches for the show's debut. If that's the case, the first "Superstars" taping will take place the very next week when Raw is at the London O2 Arena in the United Kingdom.

The new "WWE Superstars" show is expected to be a "C-Show," so it will likely feature Superstars having trouble getting ring time on the televised Raw, SmackDown and ECW programs. On Friday, we did a report listing the WWE Superstars who have competed in two matches or less on television so far this year. To recap, here is a list of the Superstars and Divas you can probably expect to regularly see on the program:

Superstars: Charlie Haas, Curt Hawkins, DJ Gabriel, Dolph Ziggler, Festus, Goldust, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Hurricane Helms, Jamie Noble, Jesse, Jimmy Wang Yang, Kizarny, Kung Fu Naki, Manu, Ricky Ortiz, Sim Snuka, and Zack Ryder.

Divas: Alicia Fox, Brie Bella, Candice Michelle, Katie Lea Burchill, Maria, Mickie James, Natalya, and Nikki Bella.

With the new "WWE Superstars" show taking place, it should also be taken into account that WWE will likely ease up on calling up developmental talent to the main roster (especially those on the bubble) because there should be less pressure to instantly succeed. WWE can tryout out new wrestlers and gimmicks before deciding whether to regularly feature them on the main shows or not.

No word yet on who the commentators for the show will be. WWE has former Velocity announcer Josh Mathews calling matches in developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling, so if WWE has plans to use someone new, he looks to be the best bet. As far as the ring announcer is concerning, it will probably be Lilian Garcia as the show is being taped before Raw and she's already available in the building. Garcia handled the ring announcing duties for WWE Heat through the show's demise last May.

Freddie Prinze, Jr. Leaving WWE
By Daniel Pena

source: PWInsider.com

-- It has been confirmed that Hollywood actor, writer and producer Freddy Prinze, Jr. has parted ways with World Wrestling Entertainment. Prinze had been working under Michael Hayes on the creative team for SmackDown.

Internally, Prinze's departure from the company is not being seen as much of a surprise as he had attended very few television tapings in recent weeks. One wrestler said he hadn't noticed Prinze at a television taping in about two months.

We never got any feedback on how Prinze was doing on the creative team, but he was well liked by the wrestlers since he is such a huge fan of the industry.

The actor joined the company last July after attending several major WWE events in the years prior.

WWE Interested In Released TNA Star

-- As reported earlier, Sonjay Dutt has parted ways with TNA Wrestling. According to a source, Dutt has reached out to World Wrestling Entertainment, reports ProWrestling.NET. WWE has expressed some interest in signing the former X Division wrestler to a deal.

Jamie Noble Injury Update
Written by Richard Gray

Despite some tense moments at last night's Raw taping in Nashville, Jamie Noble is OK after being injured in his match with Mike Knox. The injury occurred when Noble took Knox's finisher and according to Mike Johnson, Noble only suffered a stinger. Noble was said to be in a tremendous amount of pain while medical personnel took every known precaution.

The Ricky Steamboat/Chris Jericho segment took place at the top of the ramp rather than in the ring as Noble was being tended to. As Ryan noted earlier, WWE tried to bring Raw back from commercial but had to go back to commercial, causing the show to run a couple of minutes long.

Details Behind Manu's Release
By Daniel Pena

source: PWInsider.com, www.f4wonline.com

-- As announced this evening, WWE has parted ways with Raw Superstar Manu (real name Afa Anoa'i, Jr.). Regarding his release from the company - which was said to not be much of a surprise - officials were unhappy with his ring work, as well as his overall appearance, which led to his removal from Legacy. Manu had not been seen in several weeks, although the beginning of the end actually started on the last episode of Raw in 2008.

After Randy Orton grew tired of Legacy losing matches, he scheduled a test for each member on the December 29, 2008 episode of Raw; however, Manu failed to pass his test after he lost to the ECW Champion, Matt Hardy, and was kicked out as his former companions Rhodes and Sim Snuka turned their backs on him. Later, Snuka also got kicked out of the group, and the two quickly reunited. They planned to get their revenge on Orton and Rhodes on the January 12, 2009 episode of Raw, with the aid of the returning Ted DiBiase, but DiBiase betrayed them, and joined Legacy with Orton and Rhodes. Manu never appeared in a WWE ring again.

Following a tryout at Deep South Wrestling, WWE signed Anoa'i to a developmental contract in October 2006. Under the name Afa Jr., Anoa'i spent nearly two years in developmental. His stay in developmental was highlighted by a FCW Heavyweight Championship win on October 16, 2007. Afa Jr. defeated Harry "DH" Smith by countout (he was touring with WWE in the UK at the time), to become the new FCW Heavyweight Champion. Afa Jr. would lose the belt to TJ Wilson on December 1, 2007 in a ladder match.

Anoa'i actually made his WWE television debut on November 19, 2007 at a Heat taping. Under the name Mai Tai Anoa'i, he lost to "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.

On March 20, 2008, Anoa'i was suspended by WWE for violating the company's Wellness Policy. Reportedly, he attempted to cheat on a WWE drug test through the aid of a prosthetic penis. He was caught and as a result, suspended. Soon after, company officials adopted a policy for all talent to drop their pants to their ankles in front of the assigned doctor when taking a urine sample.

At last year's Unforgiven pay-per-view, Anoa'i made his debut on the full-time roster under the name "Manu". He aligned himself with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, by attacking Cryme Tyme after their World Tag Team Championship match. Later that night, the three of them helped Randy Orton attack the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Kofi Kingston.

Anoa'i, Jr. is a member of the legendary Anoa'i wrestling family. He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Afa and brother of former Headshrinkers member Samu. Umaga's mother is the sister of Afa, which explains his relation to the SmackDown star.

I don't know about a WrestleMania (though it would be awesome) but I'd like to at least see a WWE TV taping in Australia. Since 2002 we have had "WrestleMania Revenge", "SummerSlam" and "Survivor Series" tours but more recently we have had SmackDown/ECW and this July a Raw house show. We've gone from tours to house shows, hopefully it won't be long before a Raw or SmackDown/ECW show is taped in Australia.

I mean they tape a show in England, Japan, Italy and even Mexico once a year, why not in Australia, one of WWE's biggest money-making countries.

As for the Draft:
To SmackDown: Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Christian and John Cena.
To ECW: Jamie Noble, Ezekiel Jackson and Carlito.
To Raw: Vladimir Kozlov, John Morrison, Evan Bourne and Jack Swagger.

Mysterio Pulled From Several WWE Shows
By Daniel Pena

source: PWInsider.com

-- If you noticed, Rey Mysterio was not on Raw last week. He was also missing from WWE's tour of South America last week -- which he is always brought on regardless of brand affiliation. It has just been disclosed that he will not be appearing on this weekend's set of Northeast house shows either despite being advertised.

While the reason for Mysterio's absence from a number of events has yet to be confirmed, the belief among those spoken to is that he is dealing with a personal issue that needs to be addressed back home in San Diego (where he resides). He is not injured, nor has he been suspended.

Mysterio was also scheduled to do an autograph signing at the Westfield Sunrise Mall in Massapequa, New York tomorrow, but he has been replaced by Chris Jericho. WWE.com has yet to update their appearances section regarding the change.

According to several live reports sent in from fans who were at this week’s double SmackDown tapings the Mohegan Sun Arena (CT), Umaga apparently suffered a leg injury.

The former IC champion was wrestling WWE Champion Triple H in the main event of Friday's SmackDown. During the match, the Samoan Bulldozer went down and the referee did the “x” hand signal that means an injury has occured. Umaga did not wrestle on the second show taped later in the night for next week.

More On Recent TNA Departures, TNA Looking To Cut Costs
By Daniel Pena

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

-- Company revenue increased tremendously over the past year, largely due to running a regular schedule of live shows, more revenue from Spike as a result of Impact's first full year of two-hour programs, not to mention huge increases in merchandise sales. TNA appears to more recession proof than World Wrestling Entertainment because such a high percentage of the company's revenue is fixed revenue from Spike and less is from overseas where currency has greatly declined. However, the company is not immune from taking cost-cutting measures when necessary.

As noted earlier, the company chose not renew the contracts of veteran performers Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams, Jimmy Rave and Lance Hoyt. Their departures from the company were partially as a result of budget cuts.

TNA has been looking to cut costs in other areas. Most notably, they've been running less pay-per-view events on the road as of late. While the company looks a whole lot more major league doing pay-per-views from arenas across the country with larger crowds as opposed to the former home of Nickelodeon GUTS and WCW WorldWide, it's simply much more cost effective to run events in Orlando in most cases.

For the most part, TNA has had trouble drawing solid crowds for pay-per-view events taken on the road. There have been countless reports of floor seats being available the weekend of a pay-per-view. Oftentimes, TNA papers the events days before the show, thus explaining why the buildings look packed come show time. For this past January's Genesis event in Charlotte, TNA ran a deal on Ticketmaster.com for fans to enter the code "STING" and receive up to four tickets for free.

In another cost cutting measure, officials stopped giving Monday off after road pay-per-view shows to save a day of costs.

Despite the cutbacks, they haven't been close to as severe as WWE.

Well, he was at least entertaining, in my opinion.

So, who faces the Undertaker at Wrestlemania? JBL or Shawn Michaels? I haven't watched WWE ever since Smackdown had made the switch.

He is fighting Mr. Wrestlemania! The Heart-break Kid, SHAWN MICHAELS!!!!!!

So Orton faces of against Triple H at Wrestlemania, right. i was worried that Orton's Rumble win wouldn't make a real difference, sorta like last years. xD

WWE Releases SmackDown Wrestler - Eighth Release In Recent Weeks
By Daniel Pena

source: PWInsider.com

While this has yet to be announced by World Wrestling Entertainment, the company released SmackDown wrestler Ryan Braddock sometime within the last few days. He had been employed to WWE for just over three years.

Sans a few appearances on SmackDown last year, Braddock spent the majority of his tenure in the company in developmental.

Update On Internet Leaks From WWE
By Daniel Pena

sources: www.f4wonline.com, TheSun.co.uk

-- With the script for last Monday's Raw leaking this past week (featuring a huge storyline plan that was delayed at the last minute), the huge snafu Big Show made during yesterday's music video countdown show on VH1 by revealing a yet-to-be-announced match for WrestleMania XXV, as well as all the reports regarding plans for the 25-Diva Battle Royal at Mania (with some leaks even coming from the women themselves), it's pretty much a given that WWE head Vince McMahon is irate, especially with the company-wide initiative to stop storylines getting out on the Internet. The feeling is that a lot of plans and angles will be rewritten this coming week, starting with tomorrow night's Raw in Jacksonville. It should also be interesting to see if Big Show receives any heat for spoiling huge storyline plans regarding his scheduled match at WrestleMania.

WWE Diva Possibly Leaving, Contract Set To Expire In October
By Daniel Pena

In an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper, WWE Diva Candice Michelle talked about a variety of subjects including who she travels with on the road, her thoughts on Stephanie McMahon & Torrie Wilson, if she minds bra and panties matches, the Diva to "watch for," and more.

In an interesting note, Candice says her WWE contract is expiring this October — and she doesn't know if she's staying. She has interests besides wrestling such as acting and modeling, and when the time comes near, she'll decide on what she wants to do.

It should be noted that WWE prefers to re-sign talent approximately a year before their contracts are set to expire. At least in part, this could explain why the former Playboy cover model has been sparingly used since the fall as the company may not want to invest the time and resources on an individual who could leave in the near future.

WWE Planting False Info
By Daniel Pena

source: PWInsider.com

-- WWE officials are planting a number red herrings in order to keep their creative plans a mystery to Internet wrestling fans. The word backstage is that almost anything could be planted. This is also being done to discover the individuals within the company leaking confidential information to the people behind wrestling news websites.

As of late, WWE head Vince McMahon has grown increasingly frustrated over the number of backstage news leaks finding its way onto the Internet. More so than ever before, there is a bigger company directive on stopping Internet leaks. McMahon is actually said to be "obsessed" with stopping stories from leaking out of his company and officials underneath him have made that fact very clear to everyone.

Talk abouot bad. He was fighting Umaga, and he whiped Umaga over the top ropes and Umaga got injured. Then Orton and his goons came and attacked Hunter. Hunter was ready, but just couldnt do it. Spit was everywhere. it was really disturbing....in my POV.

I can tell. I thought Umaga was in Raw....?

They should really hire some talented, female wrestlers from Independent companies. Some of them are really good.

I really care about Braddock.

So, they're still in a finacial turmoil, right?

From whats been released, TNA doesn't need to be doing these measures, because of better then expected revenue and TV viewership. There doing them though in case things get worse. One of the Adv of not being a publicly traded company unlike the WWE (Who released a referee who has cancer though they promised they would keep him on)

Isn't the Draft 8 days after WrestleMania 25?

Apparently Vince is so busy keeping the WrestleMania storylines hidden from the interwebs that the creative team haven't even started writing the Draft story yet.

Edit: Also; I don't know if anyone noticed this at the time but: (It's probably to big to post a vid of so...) if you go to this YouTube link of the WrestleMania 21 promos and watch until the end with Batista just before he walks off, listen to what he says.

Im not so sure... Edge and Cena made a pretty cool story before... i don't see the harm in another one.

But if any, I would want him to go to Raw. I simply hate ECW. =(

As soon as I saw the Big Show come out last week after the World Heavyweight Championship match and get named the #1 contender I said to myself "This will become a triple threat somehow." and then a week later, oh look, a triple threat match. Come on WWE, you were becoming unpredictable, this is just lazy story writing.

Leading Venue Candidate For WrestleMania 27
By Brad Ingles

The Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN is the leading candidate to host WWE WrestleMania 27 in 2011. The Lucas Oil Stadium has a retractable dome and can hold up to 70,000 people. The stadium opened on August 14, 2008 and replaced the RCA Dome (Hoosier Dome) that hosted WrestleMania 8 in 1992. An interesting note is that WrestleMania 8 holds the record for the most tickets given away for a WrestleMania at approximately 15,000.

J.R. Talks Andrew Martin - Reveals His Stint In Rehab Last Year
By Daniel Pena

SmackDown play-by-play announcer Jim Ross posted a blog on his official website remembering Andrew "Test" Martin, who was found dead in his Tampa apartment last night.

Ross is quite familiar with Martin as he hired him alongside two other Canadians in Adam "Edge" Copeland and Jay "Christian" Reso in the late 1990's.

"I hired Andrew in the same class with his other fellow Canadians Edge and Christian in the late 90's in an outstanding group of young talent whose advanced training was over seen by future WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk and by Tom Prichard," Ross wrote.

Ross recalls a conversation with Martin at WrestleMania XXIV last year in Orlando. The two spoke at length regarding his real estate endeavors and his plans to become a physical therapist. Martin also told Ross he saved his money and only wrestled "when he wanted to."

"Andrew had done well in WWE, saved his money, made some good investments, and told me he only wanted to wrestle when "he wanted to" which the randomly scheduled international tours would allow him to do," Ross wrote. "He did not express interest in the American indy scene and was genuinely excited about the prospects of the aforementioned physical therapy career."

In a bit of previously unreported news, Ross reveals that Martin took up World Wrestling Entertainment's offer to enter a rehabilitation facility in West Palm Beach, Florida last August. At the suggestion of others, his former employer reached out to him to see if he needed some help handling some alleged personal issues that he was rumored to have been experiencing.

"The rumors of Andrew's issues were true and he was afforded the opportunity by WWE to attend The Hanley Center Rehabilitation facility in West Palm Beach, Florida for several weeks beginning in August of 2008," Ross wrote. "Andrew successfully completed the WWE funded program and was highly regarded by the Hanley Center with being such an asset to them after completing the program of which Andrew took seriously, according to the facility. Since being released from the facility after successfully completing the program, Andrew had been doing well in his 12 Step AA program and was in contact with WWE with regular phone calls. Ironically, Friday was the day for his regularly scheduled "touching base" but when called his voice mail box was full."

It should be noted that Ross was not aware of Martin's alleged problems and stint in rehab until recently.

Ross concludes his post with the following note remembering Martin: "I will remember this young man as a bright, intelligent individual and am thankful that my last conversation with him was so positive and that he was excited about his future in a new field. Our sincere condolences go out to his family, friends, and fans and may God rest his soul."

Recent Blog Post From Andrew Martin: Talks Recent Tour Of Japan
By Daniel Pena

Early last week, Andrew "Test" Martin posted a blog on his MySpace page talking about his recent tour of Japan, which included a bout with former TNA wrestler Lance Hoyt. He also noted plans to head to Europe for a wrestling tour throughout Europe on Monday.

Here is his blog post in its entirety:

Hey all! I just got back from Tokyo, Japan. I have been to Japan several times but this was by far the best trip there for a number of reasons.

First I must thank Mr. Aso who treated me beyond first class and is a total gentleman as well as a great human being himself. My trip there was first class all the way. Thanks to Mr. Ena for making my flight the best flight I had ever been on. Mr. Aso flew me first class on United airlines who I must thank the ladies on board, who kept feeding me steak and chicken every two hours. It ended up being about a 24 hour travel day. When I landed I was greeted by Mr. Yabe another kind and stand up man. We chatted for a bit and waited for Vader.

For those of you who do not know Leon (Vader) he is a total gentleman. I met Leon about ten years ago when I was training at Brets house he was kind to me then and was nothing but a gentleman to me now and we became good friends on this trip. Leon is a stand up guy and I want to thank him as well for a wonderfull trip.

Mr. Aso put us up in the Keio Plaza hotel which is one of the nicest hotels in tokyo. I want to thank Mr.Tiger Kihara who is one of the funniest guys I have met and a master at wrestling impressions and kept me laughing the whole time. Thanks to Golds gym who took great care of me there.

I worked my first match with Lance Hoyt. Lance is green but has a lot of promise and under the right guidance can have a great match because he is a good athlete. He needs to be in the WWE were I think he could learn and reach full potential...thanks Lance.

My second match was with a Japanese shooter named Nagai{hopefully I spelled that right} A totally diferant style but we had a great match together. He works almost as stiff as I do...lol.

I was very humbled by the reception from the Japanese fans. The Japanese people are so respectfull you can't help but love it there. I loved Japan for so many reasons and hope to makee it my wrestling home. Japan is so beautifull and full of things to do, I could see myself living there it was that much fun. Thanks again to Mr. Aso your a real gentleman and number one in my books.

On March 16th, I will be heading to Europe for two weeks in France, Sweden and Belgum. This is with the crew from Ireland. These guys hold a special place in my heart because they stuck by me when I was going thru some hard times and we all ended up becoming good friends. Great guys and fantastic people to work for, from Martin, to Mick, Joe, Jamie, Grant, Patty, Justin Shape, Lizzy, Anne, Ken, the whole crew are just great and I'm looking forward to this trip.

That's all for now..talk to you soon Andrew

Written by Richard Gray

Various live reports from last night's WWE Raw/ECW house show in Lubbock, Texas indicate Rey Mysterio may have been injured while doing his 619 finisher. As of this writing we do not have any more details on the severity of the injury.

Former WWE Star Says Drug Use Has Been Eliminated From WWE
By Daniel Pena

In an interview with sports website Fanhouse.com posted this morning, former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley says use of performance-enhancing drugs have been eliminated from World Wrestling Entertainment due to the company's drug testing policy.

When asked how prevalent performance-enhancing drugs are in the industry, the former ECW Champion said, "I don't think there's any now."

"They have a really, really, really strict testing policy in the WWE. I know that for a fact. So I know that there is no one who is really on anything now. I think in the past there were some."

Lashley believes some wrestlers used performance-enhancing drugs prior to the introduction of the company's drug testing policy, but not everyone.

"I think there used to be more wrestlers on something than there are now, but it's not like everyone was on something in professional wrestling," Lashley said. "Not at all."

Lashley also talks about his upcoming fight with Jason Guida, the cancellation of his previously scheduled fight with Ken Shamrock, his goals in MMA, and more. Click here to read the interview in its entirety.

BHwolfgang March 15th, 2009 8:39 AM

Where do you get all this, Thre? Even my source doesn't know about Rey's misfortune.

We all know that WWE is strict on it, especially of what happened to Eddie.

What does performance-enhancing drugs do, anyways?

Off topic a bit but...

Even NASCAR is cracking down extensively on Performance Enhancing Drugs as proof this is a serious issue.

# NASCAR Substance Abuse
# Competitors are asked to take a drug test if there is "reasonable suspicion."
# Anyone who obtains any kind of NASCAR license must sign an "authorization for testing and release" waiver each season.
# NASCAR can ask for samples of urine, blood, saliva, hair or breath tests if "reasonable suspicion" of drug use has been established.
# A number of NASCAR officials are trained to take and seal samples for testing, and all are versed in detecting signs of impairment.
# NASCAR encourages "whistle blowing" among its competitors to help police its substance abuse policy.
# NASCAR reserves the right to suspend a competitor based on a conviction for driving a passenger vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or a drug-related conviction.
# Competitors and officials are prohibited from consuming alcohol prior to or during a race.
# If a person fails a drug test and wants to return to racing, he or she must submit to a series of spot testing. The person being tested must pay for the examinations.
# If an individual is reinstated, NASCAR reserves the right to randomly test that individual.
# NASCAR does not recommend specific rehabilitation programs but strongly encourages self-help and treatment for those afflicted with a drug problem or alcohol abuse.

So far they got three crewmen so far.

As of this post he doesn't have a match at WrestleMania 25 and WWE aren't flying in people who won't/can't be used in order to save money so if the injury is legit he won't be taken to WrestleMania which gives him from now until after WrestleMania to heal.

Jim Ross Taken To Hospital Last Night; Diagnosed With Walking Pneumonia
Written by Ryan Gray

Jim Ross has posted a new blog on his official website, where he reveals that he spent last night in the emergency room with sharp pains in his upper left chest. He was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. He wrote the following:

I had an interesting day Saturday as I spent several hours in the emergency room with some sharp pains in my upper left chest. I had been experiencing these knife like pains for a few weeks but they also coincided with my return to the gym so I really didn't think any thing was that wrong. I made the mistake of mentioning this matter to my wife on Friday night and by Saturday morning I had no choice but to go to the hospital or be driven nuts by my over protective and loving bride. The diagnosis was walking pneumonia so it was a good thing that I followed her instincts. My Dad died of complications following a bout of pneumonia that went uncared for as Dad's lungs eventually filled with fluid which caused him heart failure at age 64. I plan on being in Corpus Christi Tuesday night for the last (thank goodness) Smackdown doubleheader of which the first program taped is Friday Night Smackdown # 500.

Concern Over Kip James' Status With TNA, Jacqueline Not At PPV
By Daniel Pena

source: prowrestling.NET

-- Conspicuous by his absence at last night's Destination X pay-per-view was Kip James as he was not in the corner of The Beautiful People. According to a TNA source, there is some concern that the company will not be renewing his contract as he's said to be on the bubble. His biggest supporter in the company is longtime friend BG James, who works as an agent backstage.

-- Jacqueline also didn't work last night's Destination X pay-per-view as she was not in the corner of Beer Money, Inc. for their match against Team 3D. However, the former WWE Women's Champion did appear at some house show events over the weekend. Her status with the company remains unclear, although we haven't heard anything about the company letting her go. However, several people within the company have questioned her spot with the company considering that a number of wrestler contracts were not renewed. On the other hand, she's known Jeff Jarrett for years, which should help her cause for employment.

By Daniel Pena

source: PWInsider.com

-- Extreme Championship Wrestling's television home Sci Fi is getting a makeover as the cable network will change its name to SyFy this July.

"We love being sci fi and we're still embracing that," network president Dave Howe said. "But we're more than just space and aliens and the future – the three things most people think of when they think of 'sci fi.' What this does is hopefully give us the best of both worlds. You keep the heritage, but also open up to a broader range of content."

Report: Painkillers & Steroids Found In The Home Of Andrew Martin, Eating When He Died
Written by Richard Gray

The St. Petersburg Times is reporting police officers discovered prescription drugs, including painkillers and steroids in the apartment of Andrew "Test" Martin. Police were called to Martin's home when a neighbor had become suspicious after watching him lie motionless on a couch for hours.

Police spokeswoman Laura McElroy said Martin was in the middle of a meal when he died as there was a half-eaten pizza and soda nearby his body.

As we have reported, officers do no suspect foul play. There were also no signs of trauma to Martin, said McElroy. "He was obviously very healthy, McElroy commented. The mystery of his death will likely be solved by his toxicology report."

WWE Releases Wrestler Sitting On The Sidelines
By Daniel Pena

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

It has been confirmed that Travis "Tyson" Tomko, 32, was released from his contract with World Wrestling Entertainment a few weeks ago. Tomko re-signed with the company in November.

Tomko's first match back in the company was a dark match prior to the December 15, 2008 episode of Raw in a winning effort over Paul Burchill. However, he was greatly limited by a torn pec and Vince McMahon thought he looked terrible during his lone outing. The former TNA World Tag Team Champion looked noticeably soft during the match.

WWE's Senior Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis took a lot of heat over signing Tomko. There was a feeling he should have had a full medical exam before signing him to see if there was a major injury.

galford3427 March 18th, 2009 11:56 AM

Man, Test passed away. That sux, while he never did capture the push he had from his first stint in WWE, it is never good to hear that kind news.

I don't know why Vince keeps Johnny Ace (John Laurinaitis) on the pay roll, I mean he has caused so many problems with wrestlers its not funny. Even Matt Hardy has said that John is the reason he was let go after the whole Edge/Matt/Lita thing. Even JBL takes pot shots at him. I even heard rumors he was trying to sign TNA Talent at Eddie Guerrero's funeral. I dont know man I just dont like him and it seems he angers the McMahons a lot. Example of when he was on Bubba the Love Sponge and gave a list of possible HOF inductees in 2007 to Hogan over the phone.

As far as Christian, I think he will get a push, you don't take a person who is as decorated as Christian and turn him into nothing, that is bad buisness, plus he got such a huge response on his return. My question is why are they pushing Jack Swagger so much.

Before I read that Vince cares more about his doormat than Christian my pick was Christian, but now it's Kane.

A while back Kane said he wanted one more World Championship run before he retired and this is a good opportunity for it to start taking place.

I LOL-ed there. xD
I want Kane to win. Is he still a heel? Haven't seen RAW in a while
I want Cristian to win, though, because he just came back to the WWE

You know what WWE should do. Get rid of ECW altogether. Send all the Extremist to RAW or Smackdown, and start clean. That will stop the hassle, and maybe they wont have to fire so many people. xD

McMahon Was Against Putting Christian In MITB
By Daniel Pena

source: www.pwtorch.com

-- Vince McMahon is still not a big supporter of Christian as he was initially against putting the ECW Superstar in the Money in the Bank Match at WrestleMania XXV. According to a well-placed source, agents and writers had to talk McMahon into putting Christian in the match. Christian is said to be close with Raw head writer Brian Gewirtz among others involved in the creative process.

With that being said, a possible Christian win at WrestleMania should not be ruled out as McMahon has been in a swerve mode as of late as he enjoys delivering the opposite of what people expect these days. He's upset over people within his company leaking info to the wrestling media, hence his mood.

TNA Pulling Three Workers Off Television
Written by Richard Gray

WrestlingNewsWorld has learned both Kip James and Jacqueline Moore are going to be phased out as on-air personalities on TNA television which is why they were not at Destination X or at this week's Impact tapings.

Steve Gerweck is reporting that Roxxi is also being pulled off television and the decision to take all three off was made by Dixie Carter, not Jeff Jarrett. According to Gerweck, the decision was not well received and Jarrett has been taking the majority of the blame.
