How does your city celebrate national/worldwide events?
If I went outside right now, I'd definately say through fireworks. How about you? Is it through air shows, parades or some other way? (In my case, I'm referring to the celebration of Australia Day. :D)
|
I'd have to say fireworks too, I don't think Australia's done anything else more exciting than that. :x
|
In Spain's day, we have a big parade with all our army nobody cares about except for the government XD
Meanwhile, everybody else is enjoying their free day. |
In my country, cities parade with their luxurious costumes and also with fireworks.
|
Feuerwerken.
Funfair possible too? I've never ventured into the local park at these time. :O |
parties, fireworks and pseudo-riots, sometimes all three of them^^
|
Parades, floats and definitely fireworks! Although many have been injured 'cause of that.
|
Nothing... Yes nothing.
But some bunch of teenagers do cause "stuffs" on their own, and then the police starts chasing em'. Other than that, there still is the usual break for the day... |
Well, as we typically do on Independence Day, we shoot off the fireworks we carried over the border a month before, hold a town parade, invite family and friends over for dinner, and quietly (outside of the fireworks of course) enjoy celebrating the day the American continental leaders signed the Declaration of Independence around 230 years ago.
Other than that, we simply get a nice, quiet day off. |
Fireworks on Canada Day <33
:33 |
It doesn't. At all. No parades, no fireworks, nothing. Not even the teenagers go out and do anything destructive. It's just a quiet quiet day for the town I'm in. The next town over, which is Capital City, does a small set of fireworks for the Fourth of July and that's it.
Once I move, though, the city I'll be in does a lot of celebrations. |
On the Fourth of July, my small town seems to erupt in a roar of booms and whistles. The entire day seems to be full of headache-inducing noises and mouth-watering smells emanating from everyone's backyard grille.
Every little suburban town that I have ever taken up residence in seems to celebrate this day of independence in much the same manner. I suppose I just can't escape the ever so popular and patriotic tradition of blowing things up and eating BBQ until you feel like you're going to burst; it's a fun time, I must admit. |
Well lets see.
Obama got voted as next president riots broke out. The war in gaza happened riots broke out. Bush doing things that would upset my country riots broke out. The whole thing in georgia (country not state) riots broke out. So yeah if something happens around the world riots would break out. Its kind of fun in a strange ****ed up way. |
I usually see nothing but banners during the Winter Holidays, but there are fireworks EVERYWHERE on independence day.
