Microsoft releases IE 8 browser

Microsoft releases IE 8 browser
Microsoft has stepped up the battle to win back users with the latest release of its Internet Explorer browser.

The US software giant says IE 8 is faster, easier to use and more secure than its competitors.

While I do prefer using Firefox and Chrome, I think this is a good way forward since more than 50% of Web Browsing is still done through IE, no matter how bloated it's become. =/

Thought's though? Security wise people will still look for vulnerabilities as long a majority of people use IE. (People don't even bother to update.) D= I keep on seeing that, People not bothering to Update their Protection (PComputer-wise)

ironically enough IE exploits scripts are still being made, so much for being more secure than it's competitors

Ha! A version of IE that's more secure than Firefox, Opera or Chrome! Not in a million years! I won't be caught dead with this on any of my computers. They've got to be kidding themselves. I doubt if they've even fixed the rendering issues either.

I suppose I could give it a try just to see if anything is actually different than IE7. Considering the plateau at the IE5 to 6 update, I highly doubt that's noticeably possible. I'll probably just stick to Firefox as I've been doing for the past few years.

IE 8 has bee out for a while, now. And I find it annoying. For starters, all my add-ons don't work on IE 8. Personally, I would rather use Firefox over anything. I do use Google Chrome every now and then.

I just noticed that IE8 is still in it's final beta testing stages, it will probably be released by August as the final product

well that's good news, I was sure when I saw this thread that it was still only in RC1 stage, so I held off posting until I could confirm my suspicions. thanks.

I've used the IE8 betas on windows 7 and to be quite frank, it sucks worse than a lukewarm soggy chili dog. Firefox and Chrome are the only browsers I'd ever use for my Windows browser needs.

I thought the final release of version 8 was out. =\

I used one of the first betas over a year ago and it didn't seem any better than 7.

Any browser lacking the toolbar being present by default is in my eyes already made of fail.
That's "easy to use" thrown straight out the window and left outside until the average home user finds out how to make it appear.
