Generation V better bring some better variety in fire?

Is there any dual type fire pokemon that doesn't take super effectiveness from water?
No(or i'm pretty sure almost all.....)
We have plenty of water types that take normal damage from Grass types but when it comes to Fire types most all of them are screwed if they get hit by surf
What dual type fire would be able to stand a better chance against water?

I do not think this is supposed to be here...but I'll answer

Fire/Water I think will be able to take normal effect from water types...but the question is will they ever make a pokemon witht that type combo???

Tinhead Bruce February 1st, 2009 9:03 AM

A fire dragon? That's just about the only one I can think of that would be normal to water attacks. I can't imagine them making a dragon starter, as they are usually very strong OUs or Ubers. I just don't seeing it happening.

EDIT: Quick, they would never make a typing like that. Water and Fire are opposites, and a water fire type would be weak against absolutely nothing, a trait reserved exclusively for Ghost-dark types as of yet.

Water, Grass and Dragon are the only types that take 50% damage from water.
Fire/Dragon I could see, but that's it.

Fire/Dragon would be the only actual conclusion to this that would make sense in some matter.
Yet Dragons are much to strong to be starters so it could be a tri evolution such as bagon or trapinch but fire instead of Flying or Ground.
It's move pool would be pretty limited I think though.
Seeing as Dragon and Fire kind of match up with each other nicely.

I'd be interested in seeing Fire/Bug and Fire/Electric.
I can't see water being super effective against them.

Water does normal damage to electric and bug.

Nice chart, doesn't really seem complete though since it has not listed Dragon's weakness to Ice.
Not sure what else is missing, that's just the one I noticed.

EDIT: Nevermind I just noticed I wasn't reading it correctly haha.

I think tree thats on fire would be a nice Grass/Fire pokemon.

Personly the best starters for the next gen for me would be...

Grass/Dark - Tree/Cannon
Fire/Psychic - Turtle
Water/Fighting - Goat

Does anybody else think we need Light type pokemon? I made type weakness/resistence on this chart. I was in a hurry so it sucks!

Ouch, stop shocking me, Chinchou. February 2nd, 2009 9:52 PM

Thats just stupid is what I think :D Light would be boring

Lila February 2nd, 2009 10:00 PM

I think a new type could be an interesting thing to introduce, but it'd cause a lot of work with re-balancing everything. But, light doesn't seem like such a good idea to me. : /

xiraiya February 2nd, 2009 10:26 PM

It would be too much like Electric, unless all the Pokemon had a holy feel.
Dark and Poison being weak to light would be nice though.

We sort of have a Gen V discussion thread in General, please use it for any Gen V talk. Here's the link.
