What Are Some Of The Best Grass-Type Pokemon For DPP?

I really like Roserade...but her attacks. Not the best. What are some of the best, slightly easy to get Grass-Type Pokemon for Platinum. Heck, what are some of the best, easy to get Grass types for all of the games (since if you guys say sometihng from Kanto or Hoen, i just trade from my SR and RG games) lol yes. This is for my Platinum team XD

The Hoppip evolutionary line is pretty good.
Tangela and Tangrowth are great.
And Breloom is awesome with the right moveset.

Lila February 1st, 2009 11:30 AM

I think Roserade can learn some amazing moves like Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Extrasensory, etc. But, I think Tangrowth and even Leafeon are both viable options, too.

I'm still contemplating whether I'll use Roserade or Tangrowth, since they're both strong pokemon. I've tried out Roserade before but I taught her awful moves, so I might try to attempt another one and hope I do it properly. :P

kricketunelullaby February 1st, 2009 11:30 AM

Ludicolo can be pretty ownage.

Lady Gaga February 1st, 2009 11:41 AM

what about competitive play?

Zero Avenged February 1st, 2009 11:48 AM

For competitve play Cacturne for offensive and Meganium for a really good wall. Shaymin is good but I think its an Uber......

Becky_x February 1st, 2009 12:12 PM

Breloom, Vileplume and Roserade are quite common in teams these days so they're good to pick.

Here's just a few of my faves:

Bellossom for sp. def
Roselia and Sunflora for sp. attk
Torterra for attack
Tangrowth and Leafeon v.good defense

Honest February 1st, 2009 12:37 PM

Roserade, Breeloom and Shaymin are the only ones I know of (Not a grass Trainer. XD)

Jumpluff February 1st, 2009 12:39 PM

I would go for Jumpluff, I go onto Wi-Fi with this baby and I win every single match with Jumpluff and Ludicolo is a total win also.

Superjub February 1st, 2009 1:01 PM

I have Roserade on my Diamond (Taught her horrible moves though =P)

Basically most people have said the ones I was thinking of. I have a Luciolo on my Emerald...

I guess Victreebell isn't so bad, with a good moveset. Not as good as others have suggested though...

Ummm, Cradily isn't bad either....Cherrim can also be good (When its sunny and a double battle, that is...=\)

Calum. February 1st, 2009 8:10 PM

Breloom with spore is the best grass type

Dmatt February 1st, 2009 8:11 PM

IMO the best are Leafeon, Roserade, Breelom, Cradily, Tangrowth and Ludicolo. And for legends, Skymin (shaymin sky forme) and Celebi are awesome too.

Bamboo February 1st, 2009 8:26 PM

Leafeon all the way. I might use a Meganium as a wall occasionally

Gunners February 1st, 2009 11:19 PM

Breloom is great and if your set is different from the usual sub focus punch youll confuse opponants.
Ludicolo is good too. Set up rain dance and sweep. Generally thought as a wall it can sweep too ;)

Mimikyu402 February 2nd, 2009 2:58 AM

Acording to smogon there are only 2 good grass pokemons: Breloom and celebi they are the only one in OU the rest are UU for now

Fata1Down February 2nd, 2009 3:36 AM

Torterra's pretty good when you train it right and if it has good moves. At least I think so.

♣Gawain♣ February 2nd, 2009 7:27 AM

Roserade, Cherrim, Ludicolo are one of finest.

<(^^,)> February 2nd, 2009 9:47 AM

I'd like to throw my two cents in and say Exeggutor, Grass and Psychic. Can't go wrong with that.

Cosmic Tyrant February 2nd, 2009 9:55 AM

If you're looking for a speedy sweeper, Sceptile's decent with the right EV Spread/Moveset. I've seen some people use SD on it for attacks like Leaf Blade & X Scissor. For a Sp. Sweeper, stick to conventional attacks such as Dragon Pulse, or even Leaf Storm for more torque. CG Adds to the devistation it can bring with the Special Moveset. It's all up to you, just a suggestion.

Wolfwhispers February 2nd, 2009 10:17 AM

Breloom is pretty good with attacks, but then there's also Sceptile with its speed. With its speed and attack, its really powerful. Venasaur is a forgotten but goo choice. Give it a focus sash and EV train it, and it would be a super power house.

ISa56 February 2nd, 2009 5:09 PM

Rosrade. It's got pretty good Special Defense for a Grass type, and it's got good Grass-type attacks.
Breloom. Focus Punch and Spore. Need I say more?
Venusaur-Rosrade has the same stats and type, but Rosrade doesn't learn Sleep Powder, does it?
Leafeon. It's got oddly high Defense and Attack for a Grass-type, and it also learn a sleep move, along with a few good Grass and Bug-type physical attacks.

groudonlover February 3rd, 2009 11:58 AM

Roserade actually has the highest Sp. Atk of all Grass-type Pokémon currently, and with Giga Drain, Stun Spore, Sludge Bomb and, um..., Cut :/ it can PWN completely.
But, when i get the National Dex(and Pal Park) i'm gonna PP over a Breloom and throw out my Roselia(soon Roserade)

A Breloom with Spore, Focus Punch, Giga Drain and Sky Uppercut or Sky Uppercut, Giga Drain, Protect and Sleep Powder/Spore is completely awesome.

Nnoitra Jiruga February 4th, 2009 7:03 PM

I think Tangrowth is pretty good...
Leafeon(?) is okay with Special Attack...I think...o-o
Breloom is okay too.

rocko427 February 6th, 2009 2:13 AM

Ya didn't even mention abomasnow once! :(. he can take out those nasty flying types with his blizzard and mabye if he can learn earthquake he could take out those infernape, as well...
Roserade's not all that bad either. It has a wide variety of moves, and it can also learn sunny day combos. example: sunny day+weatherball=takes out the occasional ice or grass type. sunny day+sloarbeam=no charge.
... I'd say meganium is too hard for me to train.

Fusktacular Frizzlee February 6th, 2009 12:52 PM

Rosarade can be pretty awesome
also Torterra and Tangrowth are quite powerful
