Pokemon Metallic Crystal

Pokemon Metallic Crystal
Main Idea
So this is pretty much a remake of crystal just with all the pokemon being obtainable and there being more sidequests. For the pokemon issue instead of like trading pokemon you raise it up to a certain level or give it a stone. and for the sidequest issues, I'm just making my own little sidequests but i would spoil the whole point of the game if I told you. Anyways I'm making the trainers and pokemon gym leaders stronger because I played crystal a couple months ago and it was SO EASY. So it will be harder and more challenging. Just wanted to know if you guys like it. Keep posting so I know if I should even waste my time with this because I'm making another hack. But even if you guys don't like the idea I might possibly do this. So I guess I'll see.

Features
-The trainers will be stronger to make the quest harder
-The order of the gyms will be switched around so you'll have to follow along to know where your going
-The Kanto starters will be obtainable as for many other Kanto Pokemon
-The GS Ball I will make obtainable and there will be legendary pokemon events
-The Kanto Map will be switched around just like the Johto ones
-There will be 2 different Elite 4's, One for Johto One for Kanto
-The Red and Blue battles will be added in
More Coming Soon...

Well, I adored Crystal (although I'm not a big fan of super-hard battles; maybe do a regular version and an "X" version?), and would love to play a finished Crystal remake.

Thing is, if you're just doing this "because", and not because you really feel you want to, then eventually you'll tire of it, and then you won't finish. Then it wouldn't really be a special game, considering all the GSC remakers out there. This is the sort of thing that could be very cool, but only if you're really determined to make it.

I mean, I noticed you mentioned whether you should "waste your time with this". If you think it's a waste of time, then you probably shouldn't make it - no matter what anyone else would like. After all, isn't the real reason for hacking Pokemon so that you can make your vision of what the game should be like into a reality? It's not for fame...

And in any case, when people see how much you care for what you're doing, you won't need to "sell yourself". You'll attract at least a small audience just with your enthusiasm, but even if you don't, it won't matter as much to you because you like what you are doing, and you're not doing it for them.

Anyway, I hope I didn't sound rude, because what I'm really trying to do is help you.

So here's to hoping that you find a hack - this one or another - on which you can work with all your heart, and someday present a finished game to the world!

You'll have to make it different than all of the other GSC remakes out there.

Kaylee Krysteenah Fynch March 3rd, 2009 4:54 PM

Well, that's true... in a way. It does need to be different. But at the moment, I thought just finishing it at all would separate it from them - unless of course one of them finishes first. (Or is there a finished Crystal remake out there that I don't know about?)

Anyway, like I said, it's even more important that he like the game, because if he doesn't, he'll get tired of it eventually. It's much worse to see a great hack coming along, and then watch as it trails away into nothing because the creator lost interest, than to see a hack progressing slowly when you can tell the creator is enjoying what they do.

It's not that I "don't" want to make it. It's just that I'm asking people how they would think of "another" Pokemon Crystal Remake. I was just deciding on whether or not people would like it or not. Because I bet if you made a hack, I bet you wouldn't make it for yourself to just play. I'm sure you would want other people to play too. After 20 posts of people saying they would like the game, I think I'll then make it.
and no offense taken. :D

Its gonna be a "remake" so its kind of going to be the same as the "other" crystal remakes because they are obviously based off of crystal. I will definitely be making other cool features in the game like obtaining the GS Ball and stuff and Legendary events. but its not going to be that much different.
Sorry.

I saw a Beta of a Crystal remake

Its a hacked Emerald version, you can download it off of Whack a Hack, I believe

Kaylee Krysteenah Fynch March 3rd, 2009 5:45 PM

I am making a hack. And you're right, I would like other people to play it. But... not quite for the reason it sounds like you mean...

I'm making Shadow of the Wastes because I had an idea, and I wanted to be able to walk around in a place like that as part of the pokemon world. I like the idea so much, that I wanted to share it with others, too, and that's why I put my idea on here in the first place. Because I like it when other people like my idea. But in the end, I'm not making it because they like it, I'm making it because I do.

That said, I'm not saying you have to feel the same way as me. I just think it would help with dedication. I see so many hacks get started and abandoned, even if they would be really good hacks. I think its a shame, and that's why I give advice like this. But it's only advice. Like I always say, the most important thing is that you enjoy what you're doing.

I see what your saying
But i don't know its hard for me to explain
I will like making the game because I'm incorporating my time and ideas into so I will be having fun with it. And I'm always on the computer scripting and on Pokecommunity so there is no way I'd stop in the middle of the game. Although I will be making it by myself(I thought about a team but its just easier to do by myself) I will definitely have fun with it. So I will have fun with the game but to me when making a hack, people liking it is more important.

Kaylee Krysteenah Fynch March 3rd, 2009 7:29 PM

Well, I don't really understand that, but that's okay. What I can tell you is that if you did this well, I would definitely play; the finished game at least.

PokemonBroski March 8th, 2009 2:59 PM

Still playing crystal so once I'm done playing I'll start the hack

Worldslayer608 March 14th, 2009 10:22 AM

Are you going to use Emerald as a Base? For the moving animations? I am willing to support and help map for this one as well :)

Masterge77 March 14th, 2009 4:50 PM
