Pokemon Fabrics of Time

:pokeball: Background:
You, the hero, are 18 years old, and you just moved to a new town with your mother, father and sister. Your dad is a world renown scientist, and when new findings arise, his family must move so he can research them. Professor Oak, of Pallet Town in Kanto, recently contacted your father about a new discovery. Oak was able to extract valuable DNA from Celebi that he believed contained coding for time travel, and he needed your father to come to Pallet Town to to try to decode the DNA.

:pokeball: Story:
This is your seventh day in Pallet Town. You have grown accustomed to the new time zone, and the people of the town are very friendly. Your father, with the help of Oak, decoded the DNA quite simply and have been working on using the time travel code to build a machine capable of time travel. In the midst of completing the machine, an eerie green glow emitted from the machine and slowly covered an 8 foot radius around the machine, trapping you, your father and Oak. The next thing you know, you find yourself in the middle of a beautiful green jungle, with your father, Oak and the nearly finished machine, with some random stuff from the lab, in your view. Your dad looked confused and somewhat frightened, but Oak looked astonished with a huge smile on his face. The three of you have been transported back in time, or forward in time. Your goal is no longer to be the best Pokemon trainer or to catch them all, your new goal is survival.

Well, about that map, it's a bit square. You should probably read a mapping tutorial or something.
Or just look at the well-rated maps in the map rating thread.

Try looking in the hacking reasource for tiles to improve your hack

WTF? FABRICS of time? name is wierd but story good

Vee217 March 10th, 2009 8:10 AM

The map is not suppose to be anything special, it is suppose to look prehistoric so it contains the bare minimum of everything and the only part of it that is seen when walking is the big trees the cave and the little path i cut out, I do have my reasons for it being so big though which will be revealed. As far as the name goes, many scientists believe that time is nothing more than a fabric woven into the space-time continuum . Sometimes people think they see things that couldnt possibly be there, and after the blink of an eye, it is gone, this is a stitching in the fabrics. Scientists believe that in order to achieve time travel they must learn how to tear into this fabric for a start point and an end point. Seeing as my hack is going to revolve around time travel (sort of) I figured this would be the perfect name. I also have some new ideas going around in my head to make the plot just a bit more interesting...

The groups the trees are placed in are too rectangular/square put little gaps in between and shove them around a bit to make it look more natural.

(:

It looks like I have a little competition with my hack (Also a time hack). I hope you stay with it because it's very interesting. I think both of ours can survive because very few hack ideas with time travel are still going and both have different storylines. I like the development of your story and with some work on mapping it should be good. A bit of advice though: As said before (I think) get some tiles that look more prehistoric. The new tree is good but the r/s/e tree takes away from the look.

I understand, I will take a look at the thread you are referring to. I honestly took a look at the work to do a time travel hack and it just seems to be out of my league and ive asked for help both in this thread and in the team help forums and nobody seems interested so i am just going to close this thread and slightly alter the storyline to something more fitting that i can complete on my own! thanks to the guys who took the time to read and respond to this hack

Worldslayer608 March 12th, 2009 1:34 PM

No offense, but I think you should work on mapping. The trees are in a grid pattern which instantly turns me off from what otherwise looks like a pretty cool hack

gummybarz March 12th, 2009 2:16 PM

Good start but it needs to be improved more if you want i can do the maps and stuff for you pm me
