it looks really awesome and the starting price is............

$70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the creators said: it was actually really easy and cheap to make, so it obviously will wipe out those 3-400 dollar systems on the market since it plays all their games anyway lol.

There is no way that will get all of the games, as ideal as it would be. It will likely only get the 3rd party games. 1st & 2nd party games like Mario, Zelda, Halo, Golden Sun, Pokemon, etc will still only be on the main consoles..thus I'll still have to buy them since most of my favorite games are 1st & 2nd Parties. Sadly Square-Enix's games will probably stay console releases, given their history, only a few of their games were even released on PC (like FFVII and FFXI). I don't see it selling as well as the main consoles currently.

What 3D rendered remake would you like to see first out of the FF series(even just an improvement on one already in 3D)?

Most of you know my answer, Final Fantasy VI in 3D on any of the current systems, Console or Handheld. Especially if they do it right (in my opinion) and keep Terra with her Green Hair.
After that I'd want Final Fantasy VII on PSP, PS3, or 360 (a DS one would be to similar to the original), followed by Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX, then Final Fantasy V.

I suppose I'm unoriginal, but...I have to say VI.

I'd absolutely love to see a better version of it.

It's that true? =(

XV won't be the last one, its just them preparing for XV after XIII & XIV are released, there will be a Final Fantasy XVI, don't you worry. The only thing that could stop XVI from happening is if SE goes extremely bankrupt or FF stops selling even remotely well. Neither of those is likely to happen.

Probably FFVI.. Since I haven't yet had the chance to play it yet..

And yes, I am still alive..
Just been busy with exams..
I've dug out my PS2 recently..
So I've decided to do the Enforced Class Challenge for FFXII..

And OnLive really doesn't appeal to me, let's be honest. It's only good if you have like, a godly internet connection.

actually they showed it and i dont remember the numbers but apparently it works on a relatively low broadband so u dont have to have the super computer of the century to run it lolz.

.

actually it really does get ALL the games and functions the same way as they do on their original systems. their thought process was that instead of having to spend thousands of dollars to get the games u like (having to buy different consoles every couple years and the games (seriously PS3 games at like 60 dollars now??? i still remember a few years ago when a brand new game was like 30 dollars)
this way it doesnt put out companies so they can still make money with their games, just consoles will probably not exist for them anymore.
-yes Square already decided they probably wouldnt go for this and would simply go to PC if they had to but last i heard they weren't sure because they haven't really seen what the box could do yet.
actually i see it selling even better than the consoles. okay answer me this:

would u rather spend 70 ish dollars on a console that plays ALL games (minus handheld and PC) and pay the relatively same amount for the games, or would u rather buy 3-400 dollar consoles every time a cool game comes out. this is simple simple math to me :\

EDIT: ok just to make that last part clearer, think about it like this: if two Xbox360s(or PS3s or Wiis or whatever) were placed in front of u , same quality, brand new, right out of the box, one being about $300 and the other being $70-$80, which would u most likely buy? again simple simple math.

Yeah, I know. The problem is that if it doesn't get the 1st/2nd party games, then I'd be missing out on some of my favorite series. I just don't see Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft letting their games appear on a console that isn't one of their own, whether they lose money on it or not. From a price stand point, its great. However, if it was the only system, it'd have a bit of a monopoly on the industry, with its only competition being a PC. I also can't see game downloads working too well for everyone. For instance, my friend lives way out in the middle of nowhere and can only get dial-up. Even a simple 3 minute long MP3 takes an hour to download for him. I'm just a little skeptical that it will have everything that it promises to have.

EDIT: Not to mention I just researched it some more. Its video game streaming, meaning that you may pay to play a game, but you don't own it, can't play it without internet access, and if OnLive flops, you lose the games, thus making the system of very little use. I'm making an assumption that you can save files to the system hard drive, since I don't think that everyone's save data would be saved on a server, where the games are stored. That is all though, as it is, in essence, a low tech computer that can stream video, making video game steaming possible. It would also make Video Game modding impossible, which is good and bad. Good because noone will hack just to win, bad because we wouldn't see some very fun or funny mods (like Link & Hyrule in Halo or Ash, Mario, & Sonic in Grand Theft Auto).

You're talking to a girl who paid $500 dollars for a Wii around the time it was released.

However, that is a discussion for a different topic.

What Final Fantasy character's design or outfit is your favorite?
My fav designs are Terra's Dissidia Design and Rydia's DS design for females. For males, Squall's Dissidia design and Zack's SOLDIER 1st Class Crisis Core design, more so before changing his hair.

well ya thats the point u can just save all ur games on the system hard drive so its easier. and supposedly the game makers get a share of the console sales(since they ARE making the games for it) so nobody is really losing here, unless like u said u really cant get an internet connection that works for it, but i think they worked it on the probability of someone having better than dial up internet service, which is again a statistic which in all essence really means nothing at all, since statistics can be easily debunked with minimal effort :\
so essentially...i guess to make it simpler to understand it would be like running fully functional emulators and ROMs on ur tv. as for the ownership thing, how old was that thing u read? because last i heard it downloads it into ur system completely, so that it IS yours to keep then get rid of when u dont want it anymore. like MP3 players kindof operate. as for hacking, where there is a will (and a lot of friggin free time :P) there is a way.

oh well thats enough of that for now, we could possibly discuss it whenever i get around to making the chatroom lolz. :P
back to topic!:
What Final Fantasy character's design or outfit is your favorite?
Can we include KH in this? cuz i really liked Roxas' character design as well as sora's in KH2. other than that i would say squall and AC cloud are my favorites.

they putted the game at the playstation store for €9,99 (don't know the dollar prize) so it's up for psp or ps3 :p

as for me... I don't have a credit card :s

Its still $9.99 here in the US too.
You can buy PSN Point Cards at stores like WalMart or GameStop, then you don't have to use a credit card.

Vallander June 9th, 2009 8:40 PM

lol if i was better with texture mapping and had the right computer and stuff i would just try to revamp FFVII myself but that would take waaaaay too long lolz. let sony do it xD

wee187 June 9th, 2009 9:31 PM

I think people have tried and failed before to make fan remakes. I saw the FFVII NES version though, that was fun to watch lol.

Either way, I want a remake of FFVIII or IX before FFVII. Honestly I want a remake of all three of the PSone games. But, for now, if we do get VIII and IX on PSN for my PSP as well, I'm happy with that, though I really want remakes. >_>

Tody was my last day fo school! :D I'm tired though, I need to sleep. Night everyone, talk to you all tomorrow! *waves*

Floris2Burn June 9th, 2009 10:32 PM

PSN point cards? never heard of those (and those shops don't sound familiar)
I'm from Belgium (Europe) and we lack the full scala of games and special stuff
also, when checking payment method at the PS shop, there was only one option; credit cards

I've never played FFVII before so i wouldn't mind if it wasn't a remake
though, the file is over 1GB so you need a good and empty memory card for the psp (as i don't have ps3 -_-)

ah well, atm i'm still freaking out on FF tactics on psp and poké platinum on Ds (as the latter game got released 2 weeks ago)

cheers

You could always see if any friends or your parents would let you use thiers and give them the money for it.

I also found out some news regarding Dissidia Final Fantasy II. According to an interview between Takashi Arakawa and Yoshinori Kitase (director, writer, and producer) with a German gaming site, Kitase stated that a sequel would be ‘very interesting’, and might even include Kingdom Hearts characters, although it would still have to be discussed with Disney.

I could see Sora working like this.
Main Costume: Kingdom Hearts II
Alternate Costume: Kingdom Hearts
Main Weapon: Kingdom Key
EX Mode: Final Form (OathKeeper & Oblivion [to reference Roxas], although it could be both the KHI & II Ultima Weapons)
EX Mode Limit Break: Trinity Limit
Crystal: Heart or Gummi Block (They're all I could think of for something important that's crystal-like in KH)
Exclusive Weapons*: Kingdom Key, Star Seeker, Bond of Flame, Two Across (Take out Star Seeker and Bond of Flame and add Oathkeeper & Oblivion after Two Across if the Ultima Weapons are used for the EX Mode)

I think Riku would be the Chaos side Villian for Kingdom Hearts because he thought, through most of the series, that he belonged in the dark, much like Golbex.
Main Costume: Kingdom Hearts II
Alternate Costume: Kingdom Hearts
Main Weapon: The Way to Dawn (KHII), Soul Eater (KHI)
EX Mode: Dark Riku
EX Mode Limit Break: Dark Barrage
Exclusive Weapons*: The Way to Dawn, Oblivion, Dark Keyblade (from KHI), Darkside (Mickey's Keyblade)

*Take note that the equipable weaponry in Dissidia is only that weapon in its name alone, the weapon appearance will stay the same, unless in EX Mode for some characters, where it will may change into their Ultimate Weapons, I didn't give Sora his Ultima in this because the Oathkeeper and the Oblivion are important to the series.

If they want to do a KH fightning game, better do it with other name, like Kingdom Hearts [insert name here].

I don't want to see them using Dissidia to promote KH. Dissidia it's only for FF.

Yeah, I know Dissidia team, are also KH team, and they can do whatever they want with the games.

But this time, I don't see that feasible, cause FF storyline it's quite different from KH storyline, they're only related in that, some FF characters appears on KH.

Is probably useless what I just wrote, cause, it'll be carried out anyway. But if that is what they want to do, go ahead. Nothing to do there.

However, including Sora, as an extra character it's a good idea, but I don't wanna see all the KH cast there.

In the hypothetical case that they include more KH characters, better rename it to Dissidia: Kingdom Hearts?

What do you think?

I doubt that they'll fill it with Kingdom Hearts characters, there will likely only be 2, Sora and a villian, most likely Riku. I don't think that any of non-main characters, FF or KH, will be included as anything other than side characters. Besides, they'd have to ask Disney for every single character. They may just make the game Dissidia - Square Enix, with the series becoming the SE equivalent to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. They couldn't really make a Dissidia: Kingdom Hearts because there are only 5 main characters, Sora, Roxas, Terra, Aqua, & Ven. There are also only 5 possible villians, Riku, Ansem, Xemnas, Xion, Master Xehanort.

Vallander June 10th, 2009 12:45 PM

lol thats what ive been saying for years! we need a SE Super smash bros game!

u also have to remember that characters like sora and riku arent JUST disney's creation, SE worked on it too so in a sense, sora and riku ARE Final Fantasy Characters.
*shot!* logic trumped :P

Crystal-Heart June 10th, 2009 2:18 PM

Technically Dissidia can be used for any Square Enix series, not just Final Fantasy. It was copywrited as Dissidia, not Dissidia - Final Fantasy, like most of the Final Fantasy games are, such as Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings was copywrited as Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings as opposed to Revenant Wings. Who knows, they may have intended this as the start of their own crossover series.

Akeraz June 10th, 2009 2:55 PM

What do you expect to see in FF series in the future, or what do you want to be added?
Honestly, the only thing I want is for them to stop releasing these exclusive games for Japanese systems only..
Like the international versions of FF..
And I Really wanted to play the IZJS version of FFXII..
There's a big following in Europe and America.. why can't we have these versions of the game too?

Yeah, we are a major point of marketing, for them.

Why don't we get the international versions?

The reason behind that goes all the way back to Final Fantasy VII. When the game was released in North America & Europe, there were several changes or additions. Several areas of gameplay had been made more difficult by adding in new bosses, such as Emerald & Ruby WEAPONS. Random battle rates had been cut down, and Materia swapping between characters was made easier. Along with this, a flashback of Cloud and Zack was added in. This version was released, with no changes, in Japan as Final Fantasy VII -International-. The initial reason for many of the international versions was to be sure that Japan got the additions of the US & EUR versions. However, as the series goes on, more and more additions are added to the International versions.

You guys in Europe should count yourselves a little lucky, the version of Final Fantasy X released in your region is actually Final Fantasy X -International-, the Dark Aeons and Penance are proof of this, as they were added in the International version. The reason that it doesn't feature the word "International" is because it was the only version of FFX released there. The North American version is just the normal FFX.

There have actually only been 5 International Versions of these, with only 3 getting things that the US & EUR didn't have.
Final Fantasy VII: International
The International version of Final Fantasy VII is a direct port of the North American version, including all of its gameplay and storyline tweaks. It came with an extra fourth disc that included bonus background information about the game itself.
Final Fantasy X: International
This edition of Final Fantasy X included new Sphere Grids, new bosses such as the Dark Aeons, and with a bonus disc filled with special features. The International version is the only version of Final Fantasy X that was released in Europe and for that reason was not tagged with the "International Edition" tag.
Final Fantasy X-2: International + Last Mission
The International version of Final Fantasy X-2 was never released outside of Japan, unlike its predecessor. Along with the tweaks in gameplay allowing for use of additional characters and modes, this version including an extra postscript to game called "Last Mission".
Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-: International
The International version of Dirge of Cerberus is a direct port of the North American and European versions, retaining all the gameplay changes that were made for North American & European releases.
Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac System
Massive changes to Final Fantasy XII were made to its International version, some so great that the gameplay is almost completely different. It includes the Zodiac Job System, a completely new variation on Final Fantasy XII's battle system. It also includes a special bonus gameplay mode called Trial Mode.

Small Edit: I'm currently downloading Final Fantasy VII for my PSP, although I had to "borrow" my brother's MemStick since mine was only a 1GB, his is 2GB, and FFVII is 1.32GB..we'll just call it even since he lost my Memory Card, which was in my Wii..don't worry, I gave him my 1GB one..besides, he doesn't own a single game for it, he sold them all. I can't wait for it to finish downloading!

Vallander June 11th, 2009 8:57 PM

i still always thought it would be easier to make everything in the same format so any PS2 system (example) can play it. it would cost a little more for the translations to be placed in all the games, but it would make them more money in the long run if the regions came together and made a single format, and not divide it into their respective regions. like KH final mix for example it pisses me off cuz i really want to get it but i dont really want to spend the money hard-modding my PS2 just to play imports.

I know. I don't understand why they so this. However, all it takes to take away Region Blocking is to place a mirror in a certain spot inside of the PlayStation 2 system (theoretically any system, I'd have to check) in the Disc Tray area. My friend did this so he could play the Japanese only Tales of Destiny II, not to be confused with the American game of the same name, which is called Tales of Eternia in Japan, name changed due to He-Man.

Akeraz June 12th, 2009 3:09 AM

I understand that some of the International versions are only upgrades to what we have..
But there are versions that should have been released over here..
Like the following:
FFX-2 International + Last Mission:-
Featured new Dresspheres, a new system that allowed you to capture monsters and use them in battle, as well as some other new features, and the totally new "Last Mission" gameplay
FFXII International Zodiac System: -
As they pretty much Overhauled the Lisence Boards, to feature Job Classes, put in new items, and added NG+ with two options - "Weak" and "Strong" mode, and let's not forget Trial Mode, with new, not-seen before bosses, there's no excuses for it not being released on western shores.

I can't think of a reason either, other than it being a "tradition" or other such nonsense. They were considering to release Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+ in NA & EUR, which is the KHII equivalent to the FF series' International, although they didn't, they did release Kingdom Hearts re:Chain of Memories in NA, which was a part of KHII Final Mix+, so I suppose thats a start at the very least.

I have a theory though, I believe that because of video game systems offering Download Content that its entirely possible that there will be no more Final Fantasy Internationals or Kingdom Hearts Final Mixes as the extra features will simply be added as download content, which has a much easier time of being offered in other regions. The current systems that support DLC are Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable. I assume that the Wii and Nintendo DSi are capable of it as well.
I do believe that there will be a Dissidia Final Fantasy: International though since the North American & European releases will have added features. I hope that it won't feature even more added features though.

no the only reason that they don't do it is because everyone is only worried about their own region, and financially, that's the smart way to go. but i think if they were to take a risk and do what i mentioned earlier, they would see a lot more profit, since people buy imports anyway after modding their systems.

ya theres been rumors for the last few years that KH2FM+ is comin to NA and EUR but the teams working on them keep saying that it is definitely NOT coming over, but that can always change. i think originally they only brought the PS2 version of CoM over is because fans were clamoring for the 3D version instead of the GBA one (i personally loved the GBA one :P)

and yes the Wii and DSi both feature dowloadable content
(of course the DSi needs to actually sell before anyone cares lol most people don't see enough reason to buy it since they took out the GBA cartridge drive)

Crystal-Heart June 12th, 2009 9:27 AM

I prefer reChain of Memories, I like the VA & 3D as well as added elements. I also sold my GBA CoM to add to my Dissidia reservation.

Also, anyone wanna guess how far I've gotten in Final Fantasy VII for the PSP by the following picture?

Yeah, Manga/Anime Laws strike again! Any character of an average body type can adequately assume a perfect form of the opposite gender whilst crossdressing. Number 1 Cases: Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII and Sailor Uranus from Sailor Moon.
I also had to giggle about all of Tifa and Aerith being blurred except for Tifa's breasts. I'm also trying to figure out how Cloud got breasts.

Also, Corneo picked Cloud. I got all the best items. Silk Dress, Blonde Wig, Diamond Tiara, Sexy Cologne, Lingerie, and I made sure to get one of the HoneyBee girls to put make-up on him.

Akeraz June 12th, 2009 2:27 PM

I restarted FFVII recently.
I always get everything in the crossdressing section..
The Dialogue after Cloud is picked is the funniest..
"I'll cut them off.."
Always made me laugh.

My personal favorite was Final Fantasy VI, known as III on the US SNES. I also really like VII, IV, II on the US SNES, VIII, X, IX, & V in that order. I haven't played II all the way, I had no story, and III is the same, except for the DS, which had a story, which was pretty good.

If you want to try Final Fantasy VII, its available for the PSP/PS3 via the PlayStation Network for 9.99 in North America & Europe.

Sorry I been gone for so long xD School's finally out, and I downloaded FFVII, and I JUST got to the Temple of the Ancients, which is like at the end of Disc 1! DX

I had my date with Tifa, and I whipped Godo with Yuffie solo already. Cloud's level 34, Tifa level 34, and Cid level 33, but I had to take him out since Aerith must be in the party at this time... So sad Dx It's almost here!

Other than that, I've been playing and streaming live FFXII: International Zodiac Job System and Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+!

School's out, yay! I can be on a ton more now. ;D

It must happen! Aerith must....must......-bursts out crying-
I hate sephiroth now!

Miss Soupy June 13th, 2009 11:09 AM

I'm not really an Aerith fan... but that scene... is still sad. ;A; It's really interesting if you have Yuffie and Tifa in the party.
She...
Iunno if this is considered a spoiler or not... sooooo...
Spoiler:
After it happens, she runs into Tifa's arms while crying. I was just really surprised at that. ;A; To be honest, the characters' reactions are probably the hardest part about the end of disc one.

wee187 June 13th, 2009 5:08 PM

I had Tifa and Barret at the time(yes I just got through that part) and Barret just walked off (nothin' gonna affect Barret lol) and Tifa started shaking and crying like crazy before running off. :(

I prefer Tifa and Cloud together, and Zack and Aerith together, yet I love both Tifa and Aerith, such amazing characters(though never as good as Ashe) I can't truly fault Sephiroth becuse even though it's sad, it's still really badass. XD

Hmm..never knew that. I'll try it out. I always had Cloud, Tifa, & Vincent as my party at the time of Aerith's death. Who else thinks its BS that she dies 1/3 of the ways into the adventure. Why does she have to die before the end of Disc 1!
Here's a fun fact about Aerith, she was actually supposed to die later. If you hack her back into your party on the PSone version and keep her in your party during certain events, she actually has dialogue that is unique to her and her alone in Disc 2! It was even translated into English, although that was probably coincidental.
Fun Fact 2: Sephiroth's gloves disappear and reappear at certain points during the Aerith's Death scene.

Vallander June 15th, 2009 7:03 AM

huh thats interesting i never knew that :\

i still havent even gotten that far yet lol havent had time to play it recently been busy and then replaying FFX.

Maybe. I know that I'd purposely put things in the game's code with no intention of having it available for normal playthough for hackers, modders, etc to find as an Easter Egg.
Speaking of Easter Eggs in game code, check this out! The Buster Sword was found in Final Fantasy X's internal code. Was it originally an equipable weapon, a test weapon, or just a fun little Easter Egg? We may never know, although it seems a little detailed for a test weapon. (By the by, this is old news, but some of you may not have known)
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/d/de/Xw35x2.jpg

Speaking of the Buster Sword, I noticed something in the Ending FMV for Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII. Well the Buster Sword's handle has red wrapping in ever image of it ever shown, including the FMV of Zack giving the blade to Cloud in Crisis Core, when the intro movie of VII is recreated after the credits, Cloud is shown holding the Buster Sword with a Blue Handle. Was it a mistake or retconning? Probably a mistake since it has a Red handle in Advent Children.

I actually had to omit three wallpapers, none of which had any nudity. One was Yuna from X-2, I love the artist's art style, but her breasts were too large and I didn't know if it'd qualify as hentai. The other two were of Tifa, but parts of her shirt were ripped in both pics, again, didn't know if it would count as hentai.

Thanks, and of course not. I'll post some more PSP wallpapers sometime too.

Edit1: I forgot to mention this, but the original PSone Classic, Final Fantasy Tactics, has been rated for the NA PSN, meaning it will come to the PSP/PS3 soon. I don't really see why, since Final Fantasy Tactics was already re-released on the PSP with added features as Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions. They really should just get to re-releasing Final Fantasy VIII & Final Fantasy IX, maybe even the old PS Final Fantasy Collections so we can play IV, V, VI, and Chrono Trigger on the PSP/PS3.

Edit2: You guys want to see some interesting mysteries, secrets, and some theories, about the original form of Final Fantasy VII, check out this site. It has some good information. http://www.ff7citadel.com/secrets/index.shtml
I found it along time ago, and recently re-found it so I could share it with you all.

Edit3: It took forever to find a nice quality one, but I finally downloaded the OST for Final Fantasy VI.

Serious lack of posting. Anyway, I was experimenting, and since I'd like to work for SE sometime when I'm older, I came up with a battle system for fun. I'd like to share it with you all. I hope it's understandable. xD I bolded out some queries people had when I showed this yesterday to FFTogether, and I have answers to those queries as well. This took me a while to think up, but I like it.

- There can be 4 characters in the Party at maximum
- Job Crystals determine stats and jobs. There are 5 Job Crystals. One for Warrior, Thief, Monk, Black Mage, and White Mage.
- Each character begins with equal stats. However, once any Job Crystal is placed upon a character, upon obtaining a Crystal level, similar to Final Fantasy X's Sphere Levels, Crystal levels can be spent to learn spells and abilities. Are these displayed on a board or in a list or some other way?
- As a character levels up themselves with a certain Job Crystal on, his/her stats for the corresponding job will go up, while all other job stats for that character go down. Wouldn't it be easier for them just to let their other stats grow more slowly? Or are these stats SPECIFIC to each job?
- Crystals can be switched around between characters, yet will work better for certain characters depending on how long that character has trained with a certain job crystal equipped. Does this mean it changes with character's personalities or EXP levels?
- Weapons and Armor are not limited to any job, but will be more efficient for certain jobs.
- No Random Battles - There is an ATB which, upon being filled up, opens up the battle menu for that character. As soon as the order is input for that character, the battle menu for the next character with a full ATB will appear immediately.
- Once you give a character a command, you can set the command to "Continuous", "Twice", or "Once". I like this idea.
- To undo a "Continuous" command, simply press and hold L2 while pressing that character's respective cancel button.
- Upon holding L2, the Triangle button, Square button, X button, and Circle button becomes that characters cancel button. For an XBOX360, it would be Y,X,B, and A.
- The Party Menu cannot be opened in battle. Define a battle. Is it a certain distance from enemies?
- Each Job Crystal can hold up to 8 spells, meaning spells must be equipped and unequipped frequently in the Party menu, similar to FFVII's materia system. Other techniques and abilities like Steal or Poach are given an additional 8 slots.
- Flee with L2.
- Summons can be obtained by defeating them, and each is pre-set to a certain job crystal. If the right crystal isn't equipped, that summon cannot be summoned.
- Items are universal to all jobs and can be used from the party menu. Certain spells like Cure can be used from the Party Menu as well.

-----------Answers------------

Are these displayed on a board or in a list or some other way?

Actually, in my head it looked kind of like a shop, like you'd have to pay 2 Crystal Levels for the spell Cure. But it could work as something more similar to the License Board or the Sphere Grid as well.

Wouldn't it be easier for them just to let their other stats grow more slowly? Or are these stats SPECIFIC to each job?

You actually have a major point there. Instead of decreasing, it could grow extremely slow. So a White Mage's Magic stats could increase a lot, yet its strength and defense would grow very little.

Does this mean it changes with character's personalities or EXP levels?

No, simply the player can equip and unequip Job Crystals at will, yet because Character A has already been trained more with a certain Crystal, Character B wouldn't be as strong with that Crystal. For example: Say Character A (CA) is a white Mage and casts the spell Cura. It would heal around 1000 HP or so, right? Well if CB, who had been training as a Thief, equipped the W.Mage Job Crystal and cast Cura, CB's Cura would only heal maybe 200 HP or so. The Job Crystal slowly formalizes itself with its character, ultimately meaning each character would end up having a specific job.

Define a battle. Is it a certain distance from enemies?

If an enemy sees you, a battle is initiated. Just like in FFXII or KH, if an enemy targets you, your name glows red. You can also target enemies to start up your ATB. Once this begins you can't access the Party Menu, so thus, it provides a more seemless and realistic sense that you can't go equipping items or buying spells in the middle of a battle. This also raises the difficulty a bit.

well, in my mind anyway, it's been like a season's gone by O:

As long as there are people posting in this club, it'll stay alive, even if its only two people.

Also, I didn't have time to let you all know this, because my stepdad killed my internet so he could play World of Warcraft, but I uploaded Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy versus XIII, & Final Fantasy Agito XIII Banners around 2am last night. All XIII series Banners came from Dissidia, as did the X & XII Banners, although they're how they appear in the menu of said games. I also didn't have time to upload the Dissidia Final Fantasy Banners, all characters, including Cosmos & Chaos.

One more thing, Banner-wise, because of how many I have I reached the starting post's character limit. I remedied this by showing the template instead of giving each individual banners' template.

Speaking of XIII & Dissidia, rumor has it that Lightning may be put into the NA/EUR versions of Dissidia because of Tetsuya Nomura wanting to include her. The reason he didn't was because not enough was known about her abilities. The thing is, now there are quite a few things known about her abilities. Her history isn't important as she would lack a real story mode, much like Gabranth & Shantotto.

Edit: I've uploaded the banners for Dissidia Final Fantasy. Even though they use the same template as the other FFFC Banners, I hope you like them all.

I also made a new Owner Banner for myself, edited off of the Terra Banner for Dissidia Final Fantasy. I'll show it here since I won't put it in my sig until I make a new, smaller banner.
http://i509.photobucket.com/albums/s333/Myst_Lily/FFFC%20Banners/TerraOwner.png

Crystal-Heart June 24th, 2009 10:08 PM

I'm sure some of you have seen my new sig, which shows what I believe my mains in Dissidia Final Fantasy will be, out of the heroes anyway. Here are are the full sized versions of the pics, as well as the other character pics I didn't use due to size.
Spoiler:

I edited the second Terra to have Green Hair myself, because, as most of you know, its how I prefer to see her.

Edit1: I've added a Kefka Palazzo Banner using the mugshot for him from Final Fantasy VI Advance. I didn't know he had one until I started playing FFVI Advance as opposed to the SNES version, Final Fantasy III, since VI Adv. has a more accurate translation since they didn't have to follow the old SNES era guidelines that were setup by Nintendo of America back then.

Edit2: GameStop will be offering something extra for people who reserve Dissidia Final Fantasy. Shipped with the game for internet reservations and availiable to pick up for in-store reservations are two special covers. A White one depicting Cosmos with the logo written in Gold and a Black one depicting Chaos with the logo written in Silver. I'm making the assumption, based on appearance and the title of the image on FF Wiki, that they will be slip covers. I guess now you can mix and match them with the inside cover.

Whaaaa, the Dissidia art is so pretty. I was browsing through it yesterday and was all, "JLKAFJALKS EXCITEMENT."

And I started listening to the music. The IX Overworld theme remixed is so bloody catchy. ;___;

Yeah, I love IX's Overworld Music, its a wordless version of "Melodies of Life", the game's main vocal theme.

Yeah, I don't think SE will lose it though, as that article said, they clearly put out what their fees are.

wee187 June 27th, 2009 7:03 AM

Lol, there is no way possible SE will lose, Esther Laong or whoever his name is that sued is just an idiot. It's like when that one lady sued McDonalds 1 Million because McD's didn't specify that the coffee they served was hot.

Yeah, gotta hate greedy people. I mean come on, not even one of the people who got sick (fainting & vomiting) after going after the Pandemonium Warden that lasted over 18 hours. Because they got sick, they had to quit with him unbeaten. To this day, PW has only been beaten twice, both times by the Linkshell Apathy on the Remora server.

Also the original Final Fantasy has been released on the PSN in Japan. It is the version from the PSone's Final Fantasy Origins. You can expect it to release here sometime after Final Fantasy Tactics. However, as with Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, Final Fantasy also has a remake already released on the PSP, with enhancements like its graphics and the extras from Dawn of Souls. So other than it being cheaper, at what I assume will be 5-7 dollars, there isn't much reason for it. What they need to do is release the other FFs that were on the PSone on the PSN, like IV, V, VI, VIII, & IX.

wee187 June 28th, 2009 1:38 PM

If they release FFVIII on the PSN, I would truly be so thankful to SE that I could send them a thank you card, lol. FFVIII portable is even better than FFVII portable!

Yeah, they just have to release the remaining games that don't have portables that could be put on one. Those games being VIII & IX, as VII was re-released on the PSP and I-VI were ported or remade on the GameBoy Advance or Nintendo DS.

Edit: I have news about Dissidia Final Fantasy's English voice cast. I'm sure most of you have heard about some of them, but here all the currently confirmed voices.
Returning Voice Actors
Yuri Lowenthal - Cecil Harvey
Steve Burton - Cloud Strife
George Newborn - Sephiroth
James Arnold Taylor - Tidus
Gregg Berger - Jecht

New Voice Actors
Grant George, Kilik from SoulCalibur IV, - Warrior of Light
Christopher Sabat, Vegeta from Dragonball Z, - Garland
Johnny Yong Bosch, Ichigo from Bleach, - Firion
Bryce Papenbrook, Jack from MÄR, - Zidane Tribal

I've heard rumors that Squall's Kingdom Hearts II VA, Doug Erholtz, will reprise his role. As for another voice heard in the E3 trailer, Kuja's, I've not found out who's voice it was. I also heard that there are differences between the Japanese portrayal and the English portrayal of Ultimecia. According to a SE source, Ulitmecia was given a seductive voice for the Japanese version, but not in the English version.

Okay, new info! The Countdown site is actually going to be a Final Fantasy Spinnoff Game called "Four Warriors of Light: Final Fantasy Side Story". Apparently it'll have really classic gameplay, though there is no MP, it looks like. For anybody else who wants to view the picture I found, you can so:

I read about that some time ago too. It seems kinda interesting Oh, and well its not a rule, for future reference, please put large pics like that in spoiler tags 'kay ^.^ Just so that it doesn't take up so much space.

I also noticed something odd surrounding Rydia's overseas art from her original Japanese art for Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. As I'll show below, they seem to have censored Rydia by adding more clothing to the NA/EUR versions. Not really a bad thing since both outfits are beautiful.
Rydia's The After Artwork (Japanese Version)

Rydia's The After Years Artwork (Overseas Version)

Edit: I'm wondering if anyone on here is good at copying sprites. I found a unique bead art sprite of Rydia done in a King of Fighters style. I mess around with a fighting game engine called MUGEN and I want to use it as a base to make a Rydia character to go along with my Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockheart, and Zack Fair characters. If anyone can copy this into an actual sprite form, I'd be very thankful.

Silhouette July 1st, 2009 4:49 PM

Hey, nice pics of Rydia^^. She's one of my favorite FF characters.

wee187 July 4th, 2009 9:14 PM

Yeah, it's be on the DS, as of now. Looks lotsa fun. ^.^

Yuri is doing Ceciiiiil? Success. :'3
zomg. Isn't Cloud's VA from General Hospital? I used to watch that show like craaack. <3

Oh! And the new DS game about the Warriors of Light looks awesome. I was a bit skeptical about having a fourteen year old as a main character, but I'm convinced it's going to be cuteness now.

Yep, Yuri does Cecil's voice in Final Fantasy IV DS too.
Yeah, Cloud's VA has been Steve Burton from General Hospital since Kingdom Hearts.

Well, a fourteen year old was the main character of Kingdom Hearts and all of the characters from the original Final Fantasy III on the Famicom (Japanese NES) were 10 years old. I think they're teens in the DS version though.

I'm a cheapskate that still hasn't gotten IV for the DS. Dx The PS version is soooo laggy, but I just can't bring myself to hand over the money for it, no matter how gorgeous it may be now.

Lately I've been snuffing down Rydia x Edge and Cloud x Tifa like crack. ;^;
But then I found out about the cutest fandom pairing, Zack x Tifa. >w<
/loves everything

wee187 July 5th, 2009 11:29 PM

My favorite pairings are Cloti, Zack/Aerith, Terra/Locke, Zidane/Freya, Zidane/Garnet, Balthier/Ashe, Ashe/Vaan, Penelo/Larsa, not too much of a Vaan/Penelo fan, but okay, that too. Oh, Fran/Basch too, they just seem to fit, kinda. Both silent type.

^w^ Of course the best pairing of all is Ashe/wee187.

FFIV DS isn't really laggy, the ATB is kinda slow though for allies and enemies.

hey guys whats up? sorry i havent been online lately just got on today just long enough to check my messages and posts so ill be bak friday. expect to see some new amazing banners lol cuz im bored as hell and itchin to make some for this and KH club ^_^

Every time I play my PS version it's so laggy. Maybe I'll finally bring together some cash to get the DS one. T^T

If we're claiming characters... :'D
Ricochet/Edge/Tifa
YES.

wee187 July 6th, 2009 12:10 PM

I claim Ashe, Zidane, Larsa, Squall, I'm happy as a clam. :D

What does everyone think of Hikari no Yon Senshi: Final Fantasy Gaiden so far, based on the new site?

Crystal-Heart July 6th, 2009 5:54 PM

Its probably expected from me to say this, but Terra/Rydia ^.^

poke-ranger July 7th, 2009 2:12 AM

I got FFIV on the DS but I really didn't find it as fun as III (The game that introduced me to the series) I don't know why, I guess maybe its because I enjoy being able to change class and I never played the original version. who knows ~

I like IV more because of the story, the original III barely had one.
If you like Class Changing, try Final Fantasy V. It has a good story and alot of the same classes from III. It should be the next to be remade on the DS and its already out on the PSone and GBA.

FF IV for the DS? That is one amazing game.

Caution: contains FF IV storyline spoiler (though the game has been out forever [is this even necessary??]).
Spoiler:
I accidentally saved over my save file in the Lunar Subterrane (sp?) with mid-level 70's with play-through data. DX

Yes it is, I'm almost finished with. I'm gonna get Bahamut and then its off for the Giant.

Yeah, anything that may possibly be considered a spoiler has to be spoiler qouted, except for characters and locations. Common knowledge things that are known by people who never even played the game are okay though, an example is "Aerith Dies".

Oh, okay. Good thing I did that. ^^

Have you played any previous versions of IV? Just curious.

wee187 July 7th, 2009 10:42 PM

I own the PS1 version of FFIV as well, in fact, I have ALL the PS1 FF games, FFIV-IX. I don't have the original IV-VI releases, but I also have/had(I lost them years ago) FFIV-VI on the GBA. I haven't been able to find at least since around the release of FFXII. I might be going overboard a bit though lol xD

Akeraz July 8th, 2009 4:28 AM

You've played a spin-off game of final fantasy? Which ones?
-
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
- Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance
- Final Fantasy Tacics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
- Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time
- Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
Yeah, there's quite alot I've played here..
Revenant Wings and Crystal Chronicles were kinda dissapointing..
But the other four are pretty awesome.

Silhouette July 8th, 2009 8:14 AM

I haven't really played any of the spin offs. Although I did find Crystal Chronicles to be quite fun. ^^

wee187 July 8th, 2009 9:59 AM

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy X-2
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

I loved FFTA2, FFT: WotL, FFXII:RW, FFTA. The VII games are amazing too, as is X-2. There usually aren't spin-offs I don't like, though I must admit I never got into FFCrystal Chronicles much.
