Just use the [ IMG ] tags and upload your pictures to some site. Imageshack and TinyPic are both good. Also, if you don't have any pictures to show, you shouldn't even be posting a thread here. Right now this place wreaks of "This is my awesome "sprite thread!" It has absolutely nothing in it, so I want you to sit there and keep anticipating the day when I finally post something here!"

What are we supposed to critique? That video's glare keeps me from being able to tell #ffffff from #000000.

omany March 20th, 2009 7:20 AM

What little shading there is... is all wrong. The brighter shades are supposed to be at the top left, not the bottom right. You are also using too much of the darker shade which makes it look two-dimensional.

You really need to work on drawing these scratches. They all look like they were completed very quickly. The outline is too thick or clumped in several places.

omany March 20th, 2009 8:55 AM

i sayed before im not good at drawing >.>

Then get better! So far all the sprites I see could be whipped up in less then 5 minutes. They lack shading, their outlines are shady, and their general shapes and ideas make no sense whatsoever. [/critique]

DarkTails March 27th, 2009 6:55 AM

Try drawing them on paper first, then try to make the basic shapes on your computer.

omany March 27th, 2009 7:12 AM

omany April 17th, 2009 6:03 AM

manomow April 17th, 2009 9:17 AM

Dude, I know my sprites are not good too, but still, you should look at spriting tutorials, and dont save in JPEG, PNG is your friend, PwNaGe.

Kotone April 17th, 2009 9:36 AM

they're okay.
keep practicing(:

Tunaboy88 April 17th, 2009 11:10 PM

well i dont mind that they were made on Paint but you have to save on PNG! because JPEG is just a bit to blury

All of your sprites are pretty bad, and I can't say anything to soften what I'm trying to say. Your palettes, outlines, shading and concepts are all wrong. Just look at the original Pokémon sprites, and study them. I'd suggest starting out with fusions and recolors first, instead of scratches, to get to know how colors and outlines are chosen. Once you've realized how they've been made, then you can do the same.

SytheXP May 30th, 2009 6:09 PM

Um, My honest opinion is that they arnt to good. Like others have stated you should learn some basics first. Don't rush into things, really good sprites can take hours and sometimes days or more. As for shading save some actual pokemon sprites to your computer and then use them as refrences for shading. At least your palletes arn't completely default paint palletes. You need to work on these more. With time, efort and practice they may end up looking good. Please don't take my post the wrong way its critique to hopefully help you get better at spriting.

gummybarz May 30th, 2009 6:34 PM

There are some good programs you could use, photoshop you can use for your
sprites but any program is good, i would use gimp. It's pretty good and it's free :)

omany May 30th, 2009 10:18 PM

Thanks for your opinion ^^ by the way im new at sprites ,the big problem is ... im on Exams days so there is only one weak left :) and i will finish

SytheXP May 30th, 2009 10:44 PM

I feel you will get the hang of it. Just don't rush perfection. I have learned it countless times over. The quality of your work suffers from rushing. I also know what you mean about exams mine were last thursay and friday although I exempted my statistics exam and didnt have one in my art class so I really got off lucky. I wish you luck with spriting. A little practice and you will do fine =)

omany May 30th, 2009 11:13 PM

oh ok i will go ahead try to fix them , yeah your right i was in rush -_-'
