How do ya prepare
Hello everyone!
I just saw a post that made me wonder.... About how many tries do u usually do before beating a Gym leader or sum1 else in any pokemon game? The fact is that I have never lost to a gym leader or E4, so I was wandering if it was just me as an individual, or if some people actually try many times before beating it, and also I would like to know the strategy you use to prepare for a gym battle. What I always do is training my Pokemon equally and using various types of pokemon, and before a gym I always train them so well that they are at something like 10 levels more than the Gym leader's Pokemon, so that the Gym leader has no chance against me.... what about u? How do ya prepare for a gym leader battle? P.S. Plz i dont know if it is the right forum to post this, and if it is not plz transfer it ^_^ |
Maybe this is better in GB strategies & movesets, but what do I know.
Anyway, I usually like to train as much as possible for a GL battle. Generally, I like my Pokémon to be L15 for Brawly [Dustoxes work GREAT against him, even at L12 XD], 20 for Wattson, and for the others, I battle all of the trainers I can and… hope, lol. |
I think this is okay where it is...

LoL yeah this is what i mean! but i see some people that say like i have beaten this trainer or gym leader at the first try >_> so thats y i came up with this question XD
I was wandering if there was anyone who ever lost in game XD coz one of my friends did! lmao! |
I buy a lot of potions and full heals.
It takes a couple of times for me to beat them, but it usualy works. |
if you have the right moves(and enough restorers) you should be able to clear the whole game with one character(my sceptile starter), its frustrating to train alot of pokemon equally for me
|
what i do is
always try to keep your starter pokemon at the same level as or higher than the best pokemon of the gym leader |
I've lost a few times....I blame that because my Dragonair knows weak attacks and my Jolteon was lame in the electric department so I finally got fed up with it and used a TM (glad I did, it still hasn't learned an electric attack YET) I usually level all my pokemon to the levels before (or a little over) they go insane on you. In reality I've only lost to my Rival ...... the pidgeot and gyrados slaughtered me because of Joleon and I have no decent grass type pokemon. If anyone could suggest something I'd be really glad to take it. Tee hee. ^^;

I usually beat in-game trainers (especially Gym Leaders) on the second-third time. Not because I suck, but I'm just too impatient to train my pokémon to 5+ levels above the leaders. and I'm not the best at choosing a good moveset or EVs for my pokémon. I just pick and choose attacks as I go. I also depend on HM moves a lot (I can't be bothered to catch HM slaves)
Unless I plan out all these things long before I play, I usually end up with a crappy team against the E4...XD |
