What would you like to see here

Title says it all, I just want to know what you guys and gals would like to see here and in the sub-forum(though a name change for it would probably be good :P)

Gerri Shin March 22nd, 2009 6:32 PM

You could call the sub forum the Trolley Station (sort of a bad play on words for oddities found whilst trolling the web)
I know we tried an RSS-bot in here at one time, but I think it was a total of maybe four people including myself that actually ever read the posts.
I don't know whether this would fall in here, the webbies, or the graphics but we could have a thread to help others with their signatures (at least coding-wise)

Zet March 24th, 2009 12:12 AM

I'll bring it up, though I hope more people will post suggestions

Archer April 5th, 2009 4:10 AM

Gerri's mention of an RSS Feed made me think. Perhaps we just keep an 'update' thread so people can look here for news, rather than searching all over the web. This would include Virus alerts, Release dates, etc.

We could post updates in the thread and you (Zet) and other staff could add what you deem appropriate to the OP.

The sub forums should be more organized. Sure it doesnt get that much attention but if we advertise it and make it popular enough to gain such need maybe when the time comes it can seperate into flash games funny pictures and miscellaneous.

There is a Webmaster forum already. Link.

maxieboy34 July 15th, 2009 4:37 AM

A computer help forum would be nice. So you have the subforum Help, and in that you have Hardware, Software and stuff.

I agree, but what about making some OS-related subforums? IHMO it would help making things more organized and comfortable.

I don't think that would be needed unless/until the volume of requests grows too big, or questions become too specific, at which point I think users would be better looking for information in specialized forums (particularly with regards to hardware). So I think it's a good thing to consider but a big NO for now.

I agree. Heck, my computer was recently infected with a Rouge Secruity Program. (AKA Scareware)..I managed to get rid of it, but i was thinking about creating a topic here that would list all known Rouge Secruity Programs and fake Anti-virus programs out there.

But, taking it farther and making a list of ALL TYPES of viurses would be good here too...

and while we're at it, why don't we add a list of trusted REAL anti-virus/spyware/malware. We don't have to give links, we could just tell the names of the products.

mervyn797 November 21st, 2009 3:12 AM

yeah, we could have a thread for simple Windows relating help? all the common problems Windows users face? eg. my taskbar has disappeared!!! 0_o

LightOfTruth March 26th, 2010 10:49 AM

I all ready made a thread for the past of computers :)

right?

This thread is for Computers & Technology, not PC itself. Besides username changes are gone and you can change your password in usercp.

~Gary~ March 30th, 2010 1:42 AM

yeah i would love to see a feature in windows from which i can recover
lost admin or standerd user's password by voice recognization or a special place in which i can give my fingerprint

Zet March 30th, 2010 1:47 AM

I don't think anyone here is willing or smart enough to make something like that, however they are programs to recover admin passwords etc.

~Gary~ March 30th, 2010 2:08 AM

actually my sis lost her lappy's admin pass
so she is freaking me out by using my pc
tell me some softwares to recover em please

Gerri Shin March 30th, 2010 6:55 AM

~Gary~: Try this, download and burn it to a CD and boot from it. It should allow you to reset the admin password.

donavannj April 20th, 2010 3:53 PM

Oh, hey, could we have an official "Post Your Rig" thread or something like that? That would be nice.

TheAppleFreak April 20th, 2010 4:43 PM

I suggest renaming "Life, The Universe, and Everything" to "42".

Genius, no?

Wi-Fi and Router related help

Should be changed to something like a general computer help thread.
I had Gigalarm to shout down on a one minute timer...

Zet May 22nd, 2010 6:03 PM

But everything in wi-fi and router related help is fine just the way it is :P

And I think it's easier just having people post a thread of their problem(s) instead of putting it in one huge thread since people could be answering other people's problems and others problems won't get answered.

twocows December 5th, 2010 2:12 PM

Since this thread sees zero activity, I'm closing it. If you have suggestions, feel free to PM them to me.
