Hmmmm.....

I've got a story idea, and I'd like some feedback.

Group of Pokemon-related characters (not just trainers, but others as well) are somehow taken out of the pokemon world...and deposited in a modern, war-driven, pokemon-less world. How would they react to this pokemon-free world? How will this world react to them? Most importantly, how would they (and thier pokemon, if applicable) get home? Would they WANT to get home? And how did they end up here in the first place? (You know, sort of the inverse of the Mystery Dungeon plot, but with no transforming.)

Any suggestion? Comments? Hell-no's?

It's an interesting idea. The most major challenge you'll probably find, from what I can see, is how to handle characters who aren't used to war (i.e., other than the struggles against clear good and evil -- the latter of which is typically through underground organizations anyway) get thrown in the middle of what would end up being a traumatic situation in comparison. Death, guns, violence, that sort of thing, with no clear good and evil. That and keeping in mind that the characters, unless you're advancing canon a few years, are still early teens/preteens. For example, Ash is perpetually ten.

Other than that, an aversion or inversion of a trope is always an interesting thing to watch. I'm curious to know which characters you're choosing, however.

As for your questions, I'm really assuming they're mostly rhetorical. To be honest, a lot of these depend on which characters you're choosing. Some characters might be easier to accept than others, and your method of getting the characters there and convincing them to go back all depend on what genre you're writing in and, again, who's in it.

Actually, I think I might make this an RP instead. I wanted to use original characters, but I'm going to see what the response to an RP would be. I'll post here again after I check.

Well, I wrote it up and posted it as an RP.

And it got accepted.

If you're interested in this concept, check out the RP in Pokemon Roleplay, called Twin Horizons.
