The Players: Your characters are inhabitants of the Pokémon world, though other than that you have a great degree of freedom to design your chara. They don't necessarily have to be trainers, and they don't necessarily have to have Pokémon, but they MUST be from the Pokémon world. HOWEVER, keep it rational. I've gotten superheroes, half-Pokémon and such, but try not to make it too fantastical (well, for Pokémon anyway.) Things like breeders, doctors, engineers, or even everyday people. If you ARE going to make it a bit...unorthodox, PM me first, and I can help you work out the details.

Depending on how things progress, I MAY become a little more lax on this rule and allow late-entries to be charas from the war-world.

The World: The unnamed world where you awaken is one that is covered in constant warfare. Great nations control nearly every corner of the globe, and the world is devoid of Pokémon.

The Plot: You all awake after going to sleep in the Pokémon world the previous night. You awaken collectively the next morning on a hill overlooking a valley where a fierce battle has just finished. You (and your Pokémon, if applicable) must decide what course of action to take. You have a good deal of freedom with your character: will you stay with the others, or forge a path on your own? Will you work with the other players, ignore them, or even work against them?

Your goal, simply put, is to survive, though how you do this is entirely up to you. If you wish, you may break from the main group and go it solo (save for your Pokémon) or even work against the main group of players. You may opt to remain in this world, fight under the banner of one of the warring nations, search for the reason behind why all of you were brought to this world, seek a means to return...the choice is yours.

Should you seek diplomacy, there are three nations you need be aware of.

1) Goldain, a high-tech nation of glittering machines and wondrous technology. They were hit hardest in the war, and many of their once-proud cities are now nothing more than rubble. They are honorable fighters, but they are losing the war and, faced with eradication, they may resort to less-than-savory methods of victory.
2) Truest, a large nation based on a mountainous island. They have a large industrial advantage, and they take full use of this. Truest is renown for its elite Air Force, and its dedication to the protection of civilians. Despite this, however, recent Truest attacks have become more and more indiscriminate.
3) Kilian, the largest and most powerful nation in the world. They have the advantage in terms of territory, finance, manpower, and skill, but a large growing rebel faction within Kilian's borders have been causing trouble and hurting the war effort. There is talk of a planned military coup, and a forced end to hostilities.

Will you join with one of these great nations? Will you ally yourself with others? Will you go it alone?

Survive. That's all that matters for now. Endure the ravages of this land with your life and sanity intact. Worry about the rest later. And know this; life cannot be without death. To live, you may be forced to take the life of another.

You awake in what was until recently a city of Goldain; now, however, it is nothing more than a smoldering ruin. Perhaps searching through the rubble for supplies, survivors, and information might be a good first move, but that is entirely up to you.

The History: No one remembers when the fighting began. All we know is that, at some point, the things we needed started to run out. We shared what we had, and went without what we didn't. But now, things are getting desperate. Most of what we had is gone, and as for what's left, well, no one's willing to share anymore.

Now, all that matters is control. Control the people. Control the resources. Control the land, the factories, the seas, the air. Control the world.

Some of us managed to find a safe haven, little specks on the globe that none of the big nations bother with. But pretty soon, things will continue to run out, and they'll want the specks too. Total control.

Goldain was hit the hardest. They fought nobly at first, refusing to rely on highly-destructive superweapons, chemical warfare, or anything like that. They paid for it in blood, land, and lives. The glittering empire of machines, technology, and innovation was reduced to ruins, and they still barely cling to life.

Then there's Truest. The so-called 'People's Army'. They claim to protect the common man, but seeing that they've been leveling cities and executing civilians more and more lately, some of us are starting to wonder whether the 'People's Army' is really still for the people.

And Kilian. Great, omniscient, omnipotent Kilian. If any of these murdering countries will end up ruling the world, it's Kilian. They've got more guns, more soldiers, more land, more money...but the one thing they don't have is control, and in this world, control is everything. I've heard there's a growing faction of dissidents in Kilian, killing officials, raiding factories, and generally raising hell. I pray for them.

There are others, of course; there are always others who stand and try to seize whatever they can get their hands on. They're the underdogs, fodder for the great three. They will stand and defend themselves, but in the end, they'll fall, just like everyone else.

And the Havens. Sanctuaries, citadels, Gardens of Eden on the plains of hell. Places where those who run from war can go to live in relative peace; but as said before, control is everything, and it's only a matter of time before the big boys want a piece of Eden for themselves.

This is a hellish world. There are records, books, databases of less violent times, of times of actual peace. But, no one now remembers these times, and anyone who tries to bring them back is labeled a hopeless visionary.

I pray for an end to it all. An end to the hatred. An end to the fighting. At the very least, an end to my life.

I am a soldier. Do not ask where my allegiance lies, because that doesn't matter anymore. No matter where I go, I will have to fight. I will have to kill. Take the life of another to survive. That's the way of this world.

I pray.

Background: Found wandering around Eterna City.
Special Skills/Abilities: His ability is Sturdy, making it immune to big blasts when the user commands so. He is the playful type.

Personality:
Starr is impatient, but kind. He usually gets upset for being annoyed and likes tapping his feet on the ground when he is in his -impatient mode-. He doesn't get really mad, but he is one that is very eager-- maybe too eager. He doesn't like waiting though. He doesn't have any friends, since his parents are overprotected and doesn't like him going on in the community.
His hobbies includes reading about Pokemon (not like handbooks, but just reading stories, like Harry Poketter and the Half Blood Pokemon). He also loves drawing, and writing in his small portable planner. With this he carries a small notebook in his pocket, always reaching it to draw the magnificent views out there in the world.
Appearance:
Starr is around 4'11", which is kind of short for his age. He has brown eyes and black hair. His hair has a few bangs on the side with the rest of his hair lying down. He isn't athletic either (More nerdy than jockey). His hair isn't too smooth or too rough. Starr usually just wears his long brown baggy pants (with a gray belt), a comfortable blue shirt with a ocean wave on it, covered on the sides with opened-zipper gray jacket. His long brown pants have two pockets. One pocket holds nothing while his other one holds his handy notebook, which he draws interesting views and pokemon in it. The notebook is also a planner when he needs to remember important things like if he has to do something for someone. He checks it often.
Backround:
Starr was a average person that started in the Hoenn region. He'd be more average if he was athletic though. He always wanted to be a Pokemon Trainer, not do sports, thinking it was boring. The mom of the family supported me and encouraged me to do what I do more, like read and draw, except the dad was supportive only with athletic purposes (he wasn't so athletic himself either). After twelve long years of this, our family was still the same. Same good mom. Same bad dad. This continued until I was brave enough to ask my parents, "Mom, can I get a pokemon, please? You don't have to worry, since I am old enough to support myself." There was a long pause. My dad broke the silence, saying in his lax voice, "Why don't you let him go? It's good exercise." My mom thought a bit. I could see small forming tears around her eyes. "Mo-oo-oom", I said. She responded with a yes. She was still sad, but I knew deep down she was happy for me. She told me what to pack, and I packed it all up, after all. My adventure is finally going to happen after twelve long years of overprotection from my mother.

RP Example:
(I don't have much experience RPing [first one])
The cold air brushed against the edge of my cheek as I wandered swaying in the cold snow. Not to mention that Misdreavus was out cold in my hands. I would think it fainted, but occasionally it would sneeze or shiver. I shivered in the cold, trying to find a way out of this lost area, far from civilization, probably.
The question was... how did I get here?
I wasn't going to answer a question I didn't know. One day I was right before the Pokemon League, running out of Victory Road, and the next thing I know, a team of white suited workers with Bowl Cut haircuts put me in the bag. I didn't make a sound in that bag, after all, they'd probably hurt me if I did. After a moment of hearing muffled sounds, they dropped me in the middle of the snow lands, saying "They don't need you."
I was thinking... who didn't need me? What did they do to me? Did they harm Misdreavus?
One of my questions were answered. Misdreavus was in the front of my shirt, acting very startled and scared. I asked Misdreavus, "did they hurt you?" Misdreavus shook her head. "Good. If they did, I'll beat them up for doing it." Misdreavus smiled a bit.
... but still... who where they... and what what did they want?
After these memories appeared in my head, I suddenly came back to Earth.
And guess what.
Land was seen.

[P.S. Sorry about the 3rd and the 2nd spoiler slot. It was being crappy. T.T]

NAME: Spark Quint
ALIAS: Voltman
AGE: 16
GENDER: Male
JOB/ROLE: Super Hero
PERSONALITY: A young teenage boy with a sharp attitude, and possesses great admirations for world-wide super heroes. A devil-may-care person, he often challenges all supremacy without hesitation and shows off in extreme manners, usually endangering himself and others unnecessarily for the sake of his morale. Spark is brash and headstrong, so it is usually common for him to be underestimated as weak-minded or even stupid. However, Spark is in fact formidably intelligent much to the surprise of many, even possessing an uncanny knowledge of computers and electronics. Unfortunately, Spark relies on brawn rather then brain due to his hasty and aggressive behavior. He also thinks that being intelligent and logical would rank him as a "nerd" and wouldn't make him stand out as an interesting crimefighting Super Hero.

APPEARANCE: Spark is roughly 5'8". He has red spikey medium-short hair and golden large mischievous eyes. He has two attires - his average clothing and his Super Hero Costume as "Voltman".

His regular clothes often consist a simple red T-shirt and blue baggy jeans. He has a pair of running red and white shoes with lightning bolts colored onto the sides. He is usually seen wearing his trademark red baseball cap, always worn sideways (to the left). He always wears his SU Watch (Super Utility Watch), having access to his Super-ego form at all times.

His super hero form consists of a red stylized helmet with a black visor. A yellow blade shaped in a lightning bolt fashion extends from the forehead area. Some of his hair leaks out of the helmet through the back, though only a little can be seen. His entire costume is mostly red. The upperbody area of his costume has a large yellow V emblem crested on front - V most likely stands for Voltman. His shoulder pads are short white lightning shaped spikes that curve back. His legs are plain black and have very little protection, the same goes for his arms. He wears white and red gloves that have V signed on the backhands - these gloves appear to be rubber. He wears red shoes that look identical to his running shoes - except they're more blocky and significantly lighter.

BACKGROUND: Through his early childhood, Spark lived with his grandfather, a renowned professor named Dr. Genistein. It was during this period of time where Spark managed to pick up a few knowledgable facts about electronic devices. Spark, consider Genistein's official lab assitant (though Spark often joked that he was his "lab rat" instead) was often given the tasks of testing out his grandfather's gadgets and devices, most which were fairly bizzare and endangered Spark's life (miraciously, he managed to survive it all). Spark was eventually given the task of trying out a super neural enhancing powered suit that allows the user to manipulate electricity. However, before given an actual opportunity to test the suit - Genistein was captured by a group of mysterious grunts. In a heroic act, Spark activates the suit without learning the instructions and taking safety procedures. He forcefully transforms into the super hero figure known as Voltman. Without warning, Spark - Voltman accidentally warps through an eletrical current and teleports to another part of the world..

In a slightly deeper analysis of his life, Spark's school grades were usually adequate - though many believe that he could exceed everyone's expectations and get higher grades. Even Spark himself admits this. Spark had an average social life, though he occasionally makes enemies, usually picking fights with school bullies. Spark currently has a girlfriend named Susan, though Spark rarely mentions of her for unknown reasons.

SPECIAL SKILLS: He is able to transform into his super-ego Voltman at will by activating his Super Utility Watch via voice command - yelling out his catch phrase "Henshin-a-Go go Baby!". Utilizing his costume's special capabilities, Spark is able to manipulate and control electricity. His signature attack "Volteccer" allows Spark to transform into a electrical sphere and travel through high speed and velocity, capable of passing through solid matter, as well as ravaging all eletronic devices - major drawback is that he has TERRIBLE control over his movements, going so fast and all that. Prior to his costume's powers, Spark is also very agile and athletic - his speed often counters against his rather poor physical power, though often his body strength is usually not a huge concern in most situations - especially since possessing the power to control electricity. Another feature involves Spark apparently being able to travel through electrical currents as a means of transportation, although this has yet to be proven (several flaws involve Spark being at risk of "getting vaporized" or "accidentally turning into pure energy" through the eletrical currents). Spark's powers often backfire when coming in contact with water, where his electrical powers can hurt anyone severely without warning, including himself.

NAME: Mora Takaimuesi
AGE: 14
GENDER: Male
JOB/ROLE: Trainer

PERSONALITY: Mora is an amazingly intelligent boy, and while he gives little thought to it, an IQ of 146 is enough to prove it. He tries to learn as much as he can, and has a capacity to simply absorb and recall information that can astound many. He is extremely strategic and analytical, looking for openings and opportunities whenever possible, and enjoys formulating tactics, sometimes for the sake of it. For these reasons, he has often been termed as a walking dictionary or computer, but he rarely gives any thought to it. He is rather inventive, putting together old ideas and information in totally new ways, though sometimes he can over think his plans to the point where the y are almost totally incomprehensible. He can be very emotional, and can sometimes display extremely deep anger, loathing or grief. He normally bottles it up, having learnt to keep a calm exterior, but beneath this calm surface his brain will be whirring, and eventually this built-up stress will snap violently if not alleviated.

APPEARANCE: Mora is a fairly tall boy, around 6 foot, of a slender build and with slightly pallid skin. He has deep, slanted blue eyes, narrowed down to a curved point at the tips. He has lustrous dark brown hair which he wears around shoulder-length, gently flowing down and back in numerous small spikes as if in a gentle breeze. While he normally puts it in a ponytail for convenience, he will often let it loose when at rest. His figure has the look of one who once had his ribs showing, but has significantly bulked out recently so that while he is still thin, he no longer looks weak or fragile He wears a black, tight-fitting jacket and trousers, the ends of which are sown back to form small cuffs. He wears tough leather thigh-boots, featureless save for numerous repairs after years of wear and tear.

BACKGROUND: Mora was born in Solaceon Town, a small community in the eastern shadow of Mount Coronet. While his mother was a trainer, his father was a retired breeder. From a young age, he would help to look after his family’s Pokemon, taking some up to be almost part of the family. When he was about seven, he began to become curious about the life of a Pokemon trainer, and started to talk to his mother about what it was like. She started to host mock battles with her old Pokemon, and Mora instantly caught hold of the strategy and tactics involved. He was always very skilled at looking after Pokemon, and he grew to understand the feelings of his Pokemon to a much greater deal and form much more powerful bonds.

He began to spend long amounts of time thinking about what he might be when he grew older, and what sort of Pokemon he might capture. However, when he was 13, his father was killed in a mountaineering accident, a rockslide falling on him and the Pokemon that were with him. When Mora heard, he ran from the house, not to leave but simply to be alone. Settling in the familiar skirts of the mountains, he curled up and cried, simply pouring out emotion. However, he looked up as a small silhouette of blue light formed in front of him. Moments later, it coalesced into a small Ralts. It approached, rather timidly, and when Mora did not stop him, gently laid one hand on his arm.

Smiling slightly, Mora began to gently stroke the Pokemon’s head. When he began to settle down, he made to return, but was surprised when the Ralts tugged at the hem of his legs. Slightly surprised, but pleased, he picked up the Ralts and took him back to the ranch. However, without his father, he no longer felt quite at home, and his mother was so tearful and depressed that she did little to comfort him. Eventually, Mora decided to leave and become a trainer, both to challenge himself and to give him something to focus on. The Ralts was registered as his formal starter Pokemon, know known as Thantos, and from there has been continuing to train and push himself further.

However, as he has grown older, he began to realise that his bond with his Ralts was reaching far beyond merely emotional connection. He could begin to feel Thantos’ surface emotions, and likewise in return. Over time, this degree of empathy has developed into a telepathic connection strong enough that he and Thantos can actually communicate soundlessly over a distance. With those Pokemon he is familiar and close to, he is beginning to feel their emotions too, and has even found that he can project his own emotions and crude parodies of thoughts back the other way. It has been often that he has wondered how this will develop as he ages further, but he savours every moment of it.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Mora is a natural telepath, and while his power is only burgeoning at this point, it holds promise of fully blossoming with age and practice. In situations of great stress he sometimes subconsciously projects his emotions into his surroundings, though this has lessened as his control has improved. As he and Thantos have a powerful emotional bond, and Thantos is a natural empathy himself, he has learnt to communicate wordlessly from up to ten feet away, and in a more imprecise manner from a much greater distance. With those Pokemon he has bonded to and them to him, he can sense the outlines of their emotions and feelings from a short distance, though his power has not grown to such a level that he could do more than at this point in time, nor effect those with which eh does not bear an emotional bond. He knows how to look after Pokemon, and has an in-depth knowledge of their biology, preferences and the manner in which to care for them. He is extremely tactical, and can assess a situation in short order.

POKEMON:
Spoiler:

NICKNAME: Thantos
SPECIES: Gardevoir
GENDER: Male
MOVES: Teleport, Confusion, Will-o-Wisp, Focus Blast, Psychic
APPEARANCE: Gardevoir’s hair is more rugged and wild than normal, and instead of flowing round its shoulders, it flows backwards in numerous small clusters.
PERSONALITY: Thantos is an extremely empathic Pokemon, beyond the natural psychic power he possesses. He feels the sorrow of others very strongly, and will often try his best to comfort and soothe those who are troubled or emotionally insecure. However, while he will normally try to look after people, he will often sense and immediately turn against those who he senses to be sadistic or enjoy the infliction of pain. His emotions are intertwined with Mora’s to a great degree, and the ebb and flow of his moods will often effect Thantos, and visa versa. However, he normally pushes him and Mora to act, to work harder and strive further. He enjoys being outside in the fresh air, the wind playing across his face and the sun beating onto his back.
BACKGROUND: Thantos was the first Pokemon Mora bonded with. Thantos was born and lived in the mountain ranges near Solaceon Town, one of only a few of the species to actually live there. He had been resting in the undergrowth, gently reclining and looking up at the stars, when the peace was cut by a pure psychic wave of sorrow and despair cutting through the air and, to Thantos’ developed empathy, almost tangible. Thantos was instantly frightened, but then pity and compassion began to seep through, and he teleported to find the source of the emanations to be a young human, sobbing in the rocks under the shadow of the mountain range. Cautiously, Thantos approached, soothing the human and calming him down. He felt protective for him, and when the human left, Thantos followed him. He has helped Mora through all of the trauma he has faced, both the death of his father and the revelation of his abilities, and shall stand beside Mora no matter what they face.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Thantos is a skilled telepath, and while he is skilled in the use of his psychic powers as a whole, it is his mental powers in which he specialises. She can sooth emotions through gently massaging the mind, and can assail it to a much greater degree than normal for most Psychic Pokemon.

NICKNAME: Erebus
SPECIES: Shuppet
GENDER: Female
MOVES: Shadow Ball, Shock Wave, Confuse Wave
APPEARANCE: n/a
PERSONALITY: Erebus used to be a dishearted Pokemon, used to constant shunning and expecting it. She would always think the worst of people, often turning out to be true. However, his time with Mora has opened him up to the fact that people can be otherwise. In her travels, she has encountered many different people and Pokemon, and has found that while the people of Eterna Forests may fear her, others were willing to befriend him. Since then, he has become much more open and determined, and while still fairly quiet, works hard alongside Mora to strengthen herself and overcome the stereotypes implanted into the minds of many.
BACKGROUND: Mora encountered Erebus in the Eterna Forests, a small shadowy figure bobbing slowly through the shade of the trees. The Pokemon had been shunned from an early age by the Pokemon of the forest, expecting the fear that the passing of Ghost-types often caused, and so Erebus lurked in the forsaken areas surrounding the abandoned chateau, often a victim of torment from the ghosts that haunted said building. Thantos felt the Pokemon’s upset, and understanding the Pokemon’s condition, Mora caught the Shuppet. With Mora, Erebus has trained hard, and has began to show herself as a formidable fighter.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: n/a

NICKNAME: Ares
SPECIES: Skorupi
GENDER: Male
MOVES: Poison Sting, Bite, Poison Jab
APPEARANCE: Ares has a slightly darker colouration than normal, slightly closer to that of a Drapion than a normal Skorupi.
PERSONALITY: Ares is a rather wary Pokemon. He has always veered on the side of caution, though this is a far side better than the ever-frightened and somewhat paranoid Pokemon in the weeks running up to his escape. While he prefers not to take chances, he trusts Mora’s judgement and understands that he needs to follow instructions. He is very determined though, and once he has decided what he wishes to do, he will carry on driven by sheer force of will. He has slowly been becoming more confident as the weeks go by, and Mora is very hopeful for him.
BACKGROUND: Mora met the young Skorupi in the marshlands surrounding Pastoria City, having attempted to run from the Great Marsh after witnessing the callous and uncaring nature for which many of the trainers visiting treated the Pokemon they captured. Many of them used Pokemon that showed signs of abuse, having been treated cruelly in attempts to make them ever more powerful. Ares ran for over a mile before finally collapsing into the mud, but was then rescued by Mora. Mora nursed the young Pokemon back to health, tending its wounds and caring for it, and Ares began to understand that not all humans who became trainers did so for the pure power of their Pokemon. Seeing the Pokemon’s potential, Mora asked whether they could battle, and after managing to defeat Ares, Mora caught him and added him to his team.

PERSONALITY: Metal Blast is quiet and rarely talks. When he does talk in his own language he surprises everyne around him because of his tendency to remain quiet.
BACKGROUND: Raptor obtained Metal Blast when he pulled a thorn out of Metal Blast's foot after Metal Blast walked through a row of thorny bushes.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Metal Blast can use his spikes to attack foes that are behind him without even looking which can be considereda disadvantage when his friends are behind him.

Spoiler:

NICKNAME: Aura Blast
SPECIES: Lucario
AGE: 17
GENDER: Male.
MOVES: Aura sphere, Aura storm (final smash move in ssbros brawl), Bone Rush, and Force palm
APPEARANCE: Shiny Lucario (If I can have two shinies) with customized armor
PERSONALITY: Aura Blast is Rash and always wants to get into a fight. When Aura Blast does get into a fight he knows that he has a spike ball combo to back him up if he needs it.
BACKGROUND: Raptor obtained it by saving it when it was a Riolu so its parents let Raptor take the riolu with him as thanks. The Riolu soon became a Lucario that could sense the Aura of anything up to a mile away from it. Aura Blast somehow knew Aurasphere as a Riolu because Raptor noticedthe same type of attack used by many Lucario other thanhis.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Aura Blast can sense the Aura of anything within half a mile of him (got that from the pokedex entery in platinum)

extra pokemon that will be mentioned but not used. Tyrannitar. Salamence. and Drapius the Drapion (may change that one though

You might want to check out this link. Plus, it seems a little unusual that you just happen to have Pokemon that can sense people anywhere on the planet, read minds and talk human when nowhere in their species is there anything like that capability. I'll leave it there.

Lucario can sense Auras
the Aggron is a special one that is sort of psychic
while Blaze is just like Meowth, he learned to talk.

dream's-epilogue April 8th, 2009 2:08 PM

@DarkAngel: Settled via PM. Accepted.

@cookie: Accepted.

@Flax: Superhero? Odd, but I guess it'll work. Remeber, this is a war RP. not a kid's story, so he might be faced with some difficult decisions. Also, my chara is electric-based, too.

@lord: Accepted.

@lv99: Like Lord said, the pokemon is a bit too much of a stretch, sorry. The Talking Charizard won't work; some species might be capable of speech, but if there's one that ISN'T, it's charizard. IT can't even say it's own name. Change it, or ditch the talking part. Aggron, no mind-reading, or at least create a good reason for it to have that ability. Otherwise, change it to a more logical mind-reader or ditch it. Lucario is mostly okay, but tone down the power of the ability. Anything on the planet is WAAAAY too much. Limit it to, say, fifty feet or so. Expand the background and personality, please.

Normally, I'd say no more than one shiny, but if you fix everything up, I'll reconsider it.

Now, my chara.

NAME: Iyosuke "Iyo" Kamamura
AGE: 12
GENDER: Male
JOB/ROLE: (He thinks) Ordinary Boy (In Actuality) Genetic Experiment
PERSONALITY: Lazy, unambitous, and unmotivated. He does whatever he feels like doing, and often ignores the consequences. He''s a little troublemaker; despite all this, however, he is very noble, and will never do something to harm someone else. He dislikes physical work and would rather spend all his time playing video games and reading manga. Because of his controlled existence, he is a little awkward around others. He's very naive, but can also be very intelligent at times.
APPEARANCE: Short and skinny, with medium red hair. He typically wears either a white T-Shirt with the katakan for "GA!" on it and blue jeans. He also wears a green beret, and occasionally blue overalls. He has a tan, despite spending most of his time indoors. Despite his "modifications" he possesses no abnormal physical qualities. He has green eyes, and isn't in great athletic shape.
BACKGROUND: Ask him, and Iyo will tell you he's just a normal boy who lives in a nothing town with a population of twenty, failing his classes and generally goofing off with his pals, Matsui and Maia. However, Iyo and his friends are not what they seem. In fact, Iyo, Matsui, and Maia are part of the top secret Project Noah. This project is designed to test various genetic modifications on humans and pokemon. The entire town, save for Iyo, Matsui, and Maia, are part of this project, and are fully aware of the trio's differences...even if they themselves are not. Iyo was artificially imbued at birth with DNA extracted from a Raichu (Matsui's mother, ironically) with the intention of giving a human pokemon-like abilities. Though Iyo shows no visible signs of his altered DNA, he posseses very strange abilities...abilities which he is becoming increasingly aware of...
SPECIAL SKILLS: Iyo's DNA was fused with Raichu DNA, giving him some unique abilities. Although he cannot produce or store electricity, he is highly resistant to it, and can manipulate electricty as well as drain it from other sources. Iyo first began to notice these whe nhe did not receive a shock from a broken, but active, lightbulb he changed. He has also unintentionally shorted out two MP3 players to date. He hides these abilities from all except Matsui and Maia (ironically, everyone else in the town already knows much more about his powers than he himself does.

Spoiler:

NICKNAME: Matsui
SPECIES: Raichu
AGE: 12 (same as Iyo)
GENDER: Male
MOVES: Quick Attack, Flash, Thunderbolt, Discharge
PERSONALITY: Almost a mirror of his 'trainer,' Matsui is laid back and inactive. He posseses above-average intelligence due to his modifications. He enjoys playing video games with Iyo, playing pranks on others in the neighborhood, and exploring the town with his friends. He doesn't care about battling one way or the other, but can be very cocky when he does fight. He tends to get along well with others due to his upbeat and outgoing personality, but shier, quieter people may find him to be a handful.
BACKGROUND: To him, he was born and raised alongside Iyo and Maia; he's like a brother to them. He believes he's just a lazy pokemon living alongside his adoptive brother and sister. He, like the other two, is actually an experiment in Project Noah; he is the converse of Iyo, having recieved human DNA in an attempt to increase a pokemon's natural logic and intelligence, as well as adding certain human abilities, like the ability to use complex tools and genetically-enabled human speech. Though he has yet to demonstate anything resembling human speech, he is adept at using most tools and machines normally only used by humans. In fact, he is a capable hacker, and when not goofing off with his pals, he spends his time exploring (a false) cyberspace. Of the three, he is the only one with suspicions that the town isn't what it seems. He leared of Iyo's powers when a particularly powerful shock failed to rouse him from sleep.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: As part of Project Noah, he was imbued with human DNA (like his mother to Iyo, Iyo's biological mother donated the DNA implanted in him.) The result is that he posseses near-human intelligence, and is capable of using complicated tools and machines, most notably computers. He is an expert hacker. He enjoys playing video games, and is quite skilled at them. Though he cannot speak a human language, he can read, write, type, and understand them.

Spoiler:

NICKNAME: Maia
SPECIES: Eevee
AGE: 12 (same as Iyo)
GENDER: Female
MOVES: Tail Whip, Thundershock, Take Down, Bite
PERSONALITY: Maia serves as the voice of reason of the group (ironic, considering she can't speak human.) She is cautious and collected, strong-willed, and thoughtful. She is brave, but smart. She takes things slowly, and hates being in a rush. She likes to think things out before acting. She acts very protective of Iyo and Matsui, often nagging them about their bad habits.
BACKGROUND: Part of Project Noah, alongside Iyo and Matsui, though like them she is not aware of it. She sees herself as the "mother-figure" of the three, often going out of her way to keep the other two out of trouble (and often failing.) Maia received perhaps the most dangerous of the three experiments; Eevee's possess an already unstable genetic makeup, which is what gives them so many evolutionary paths. However, in order to determine the effects of genetic manipulation on one, Maia was infused with DNA from both Iyo's and Matsui's biological mothers, giving her the same benefits each receivied, though to a slightly lesser extent. This, however, has pushed her genetic structure to dangerously unstable levels; great care is taken to prevent her from evolving, as the result of this could be disastrous. Her experiment is not to determine the effects of the genetic modification, but simply whether it can actually be done with no major consequences.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Maia received the modifications of both Iyo and Matsui, giving her limited benefits from both. Matsui's modification gives her enhanced intelligence and a capability for learning things normally beyond her, though she can neither read nor speak, nor can she use tools due to her quadrupedal nature. Iyo's modification gives her a modest resistance to electricity, and allows her to learn and use low-power electric-type moves. However, her genetic makeup is far more unstable than normal; it is unknown what would happen if she tried to evolve. The result could be fatal, or worse.

how do i put this nicely....Briona is NOT a pokemorph. She's a part-pokemon. It's a recessive trait passed down to her from her parents, a part-flareon and a part-arcanine. All part-pokemon have the same langauge capability. Just like whoever made the pokemorph thing up, i made this up. I REALLY hate sounding mean but...I don't really like it when people try to tamper with things i make. Even if i give my creation away, I get angry if it's tampered with. I gave my friend Katie a necklace i made once and she started to tear it apart so she could see what it's made of and i slaped her. PLAYFULLY ofcoarse, i don't hit my friends meanfully. But seriously, PLEASE. If you said yes I couldn't think you enough. Sorry, but if you say no i might join a different RP. I'm extremely picky. Once again sorry...

You still didn't answer my question. I asked if I could RP as two characters.

Clark April 9th, 2009 11:51 PM

[Name:] Serafina Dawn (also goes by “Sera”)
[Gender:] Female
[Age:] Thirteen
[Job/Role:] Trainer (of average skill)

[Personality:] Sera is a bit peppy and enthusiastic, but not quite in a naive, childish sort of manner. She’s an avid achiever (sometimes an over-achiever) who enjoys setting high goals for herself. Though stubbornness isn’t a common trait you’ll see in her, it becomes very apparent when it comes to meeting her precious goals. She won’t take advice or suggestions very well; when Sera wants something done, it’s her way or the highway. This can make her pretty bossy at times, though she isn’t ever flat-out mean about it. She tends to mask any and all of the rude remarks and sarcastic comments she loves to make with a playfully happy tone. As such, Sera never really sounds quite so angry or rude so much as she seems innocent and joking. “Everything can use a coat of light sarcasm,” as she’d put it.

Most trainers are known for their fierce determination, and Sera has plenty of that. She never gives up on anything, and sees any failure as a ‘learning experience’ rather than an excuse to quit. In reality she’s an optimist, though she often talks like a pessimist. Perhaps that’s because she expects several failures in any situation, though in the long run she’s positive of success.

On a side note, Sera has a habit of using a bit of odd slang in her speech. Some of her contractions, double-negatives, and other slangy terms would drive an English teacher up a wall. She also has to have a nickname for everyone and everything; even her Pokémon’s nicknames have nicknames. If she is referring to a Pokémon species, or a few other odd things besides, she’ll almost always drop the last syllable of the name and replace it with a ‘y’ (for example, ‘Bulbasaur’ would be ‘Bulby’… ‘Lopunny’ would be ‘Loppy’…).

[Appearance:] Sera is noticably the smallish, skinny type. She isn’t abnormally short, and she doesn’t look anorexic or anything, but just don’t expect her to be playing basketball like a pro or consuming huge amounts of food during one meal. While she isn’t extremely athletic, she can run pretty darn fast. Her dark-brown, almost black hair is just above shoulder length. It’s got a bit of a natural curl to it that keeps it wavy and somewhat coiled in places. She always keeps a light jacket and a small bag containing a few basic necessities (clothing, matches, Potions, a pocket knife...). As far as what she’s wearing goes, it’s normally just a T-Shirt and jeans or shorts, depending on the weather.

[Background:] Born and raised in Eterna City, Sinnoh, Sera was pretty much guaranteed to be a Pokémon trainer from the start. Why, you ask? Well… when your mom’s a Pokémon researcher and your dad’s a once-famous trainer who retired, such a “fate” would seem unavoidable. Oddly enough, Sera’s father was the one who wanted her to wait a few years after the usual ten to start her journey. Her mother, on the other hand, wanted her to get out there and experience all she could as soon as she could. Sera ended up leaving home at the age of eleven, after she came home one day with a Shinx she’d found wandering about. Of course, her mother was happy with this, while her father figured he'd have to be pleased that she'd waited a year to run off, unattended, into the wilderness...

The girl had always loved nature and forests and such, however… Before really starting her journey, Sera spent weeks just catching and training Pokémon in the Eterna Forest, coming back home every now and then just because it was so conveniently close. Eventually Sera took an interest in collecting the Gym Badges, though. This served as an actual motive to travel, considering she didn’t have a very impressive collection with that one shimmering Forest Badge.

Sera’d actually managed to get ahold of seven Sinnoh Badges before this whole alternate-world-thing happened. The night before the random event had been spent in Snowpoint’s Pokémon Center. Three of her Pokémon that had been more seriously wounded in her recent battle with the local Gym Leader (Lucas, a Luxio; Alexandria, a Lumineon; Pooky, a Sneasel) were resting up. The other half of her party was safely with her… Unfortunately, that half happened to be the only Pokémon she brought with her to this war-filled new world.

Special Skill: Serafina has the ability to understand Pokémon-speech, and can pick up on the emotions of Pokémon (and regular animals, should that ever be relevant in this RP). This has probably developed from her living in Eterna City, spending practically all of her time in the nearby forest with Pokémon from the time she was old enough to walk outside on her own. Others tend to suspect that her parents had something to do with it… Of course, with her Pokémon, this ends up being a bit more of a constant pain than a gift.

POKÉMON
Spoiler:
[Nickname:] Earnest
[Species:] Roselia
[Age:] 3 ((Let’s say that’s about mid-twenties in Roselia years… x3))
[Gender:] Male
[Moves:] Magical Leaf, Grasswhistle, Sweet Scent, Toxic Spikes

[Appearance:] Ordinary…

[Personality:] Earnest is, as his species would lead you to imply, somewhat feminine. He loves to dance and move gracefully and such. Some would call him carefree. Other, perhaps more offensive people would use the word ‘gay’. Of course, Earnest wouldn’t really mind what you called him. He also speaks in a polite manner and never abandons his manners.

[Background:] Earnest was the first Pokémon Sera actually caught, all on her own. With the Shinx she found and awkwardly befriended, she defeated and captured him at the start of her Pokémon journey. He didn’t seem at all upset by this; actually, Earnest was more than pleased to be a trainer’s Pokémon, and he eagerly looked forward to the journey ahead of him.

Special Skill: He’s sort of like a dancer, all the time. Each and every motion Earnest makes is intended to be graceful, light, and careful. This allows him to be quick and agile, and makes him a hard target to hit in any form of battle. He also uses his small size to his advantage.

--

[Nickname:] Jasper
[Species:] Lopunny
[Age:] 4 ((Maybe equivalent to 18-19…?))
[Gender:] Male
[Moves:] Jump Kick, Dizzy Punch, Frustration, Rock Smash

[Appearance:] Ordinary…

[Personality:] He may be a Lopunny, but Jasper sure doesn’t act like it. He actually views his “beauty” as more of a curse than a blessing. He uses all kinds of slang, dropping the letters off the end of words and “talkin’ like ‘dis, ya’ know…” Physical fighting and battling are a couple things he really enjoys. In fact, his own trainer (whom he has a bit of a grudge against due to her tendency to taunt him) considers him to be more of a Fighting-Type than a Normal-Type.

[Background:] Catching Jasper was actually a sort of mistake on the part of Sera. She was looking for Pokémon that lurked about at night in the Eterna Forest, and came across a Murkrow. Hoping to capture the bird, she called out her two Pokémon to battle. The Murkrow wasn’t so keen on the idea. It flew away, and in desperation Sera chunked a Dusk Ball after it. There was a flash of odd light, and a thud as the ball landed somewhere in the darkness. But, to Sera’s dismay (and Jasper’s), the ball had nabbed a sleeping Buneary instead of that wily Murkrow. Jasper never did like the idea of running around battling for human kids like a plaything of sorts, and he always openly stated how ‘dumb’ all of it was. Of course, his “friendship-based” evolution would imply a bit of secret enjoyment in the whole Pokémon-trainer thing… Though he’d never admit it.

Special Skill: To quote his Personality, “his own trainer considers him to be more of a Fighting-Type than a Normal-Type…” Jasper is fast, but he also packs quite a punch (or kick, for that matter).

[Nickname:] Theo (Short for “Theodore”)
[Species:] Bastiodon
[Age:] Technically, he’s about 5,000 or so… ^_^;
[Gender:] Male
[Moves:] Swagger, Ancient Power, Iron Defense, Take Down

[Appearance:] Ordinary…

[Personality:] If one were to describe Theo in a single word, probably the best word to use would be “blockhead”. And yes, while it does seem to fit in the literal definition, he really isn’t all there either. Even as far as other Pokémon can understand, all he ever has so say is syllables of his species name, and a variety of roars and grunts. Even if he’s not the brightest one out there, though, he’s very affectionate and even a bit playful.

[Background:] No one really knows what Theo was up to before he just sort of became a fossil. He himself probably forgot it all ages ago. His fossil was actually ‘resurrected’ by a trainer other than Sera, but that trainer eventually abandoned him and replaced him with a Cranidos, claiming that he was ‘too dumb to be a decent battler’. Sera found him by chance, fed him a bit of ‘Pokefood’ after he followed her around for a few minutes, then ended up catching him when it became obvious that the little Shieldon just wanted someone to take care of him (and wouldn’t stop following her…).

Special Skill: Unless the natural uber-defensive abilities of a Bastiodon count, he doesn’t really have one.

((Interesting plot idea, by the way. I can't wait to see how this turns out... =D))

Even though I'm not the owner of this thread (RP), please you correct grammer. -__-''

dream's-epilogue April 10th, 2009 6:41 PM

@ Luke the Umbreon: That post is a mess. I'm getting a headache just looking at it. At least put some spaces in.

@ Callandor: Finish up ASAP.

@ Everyone else: Expect the RP to start if not tomorrow, then some time the next day.

Clark April 10th, 2009 7:03 PM

Sooowait. Am I accepted? o-o;

dream's-epilogue April 10th, 2009 7:25 PM

@ piez: good chara, accepted. As long as you don't give her some sort of mind-reading or telepathy. We've got enough of that already.

@Ninetales: sorry for the long wait, was considering it. I've decided I will allow you to RP as two different charas, but no more. And, only one shiny between them, if you take one.

PikaPikachu April 10th, 2009 8:33 PM

are franklin and the traveling poke gang in as well?

dream's-epilogue April 10th, 2009 8:47 PM

@Pika: Did I never accept you? Sorry.

The background of your charas is a little...sparce, but I'm sure you'll expand on that over the course of the RP. (I'm just the kind of person who likes to set up complicated charas with complex backstories.)

Anyways, you're accepted.

Vulpix! April 10th, 2009 9:38 PM

Can i still sign up? It's a bit late, but still not by much. Oh and i am playing as a pokemon.

BACKGROUND: Hatched to a cruel trainer who yelled and sometimes attempted to beat Pix. Eventually getting sick of it Flames' parents took Flame and hid him out in the wild where Flame was found by a day care person. Then along came a trainer who thought that pokemon shouldn't have to be babysat, bought Flame for a very pricey price. Then about an hour later released him into the wild of SlatePort city (from Sapphire version). Where Flame currently resides today.

SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability copier. (copy's its opponets special ability)

OOC: Sorry if this isn't really good. But this is my first RPG.

dream's-epilogue April 10th, 2009 9:42 PM

@ Vulpix: Not bad, for a first sign-up. I just need to clarify one thing. By 'copy special ability' you mean the pokemon's innate abilitiy (static, pure power, etc.) right? Not the special abilities listed here, like Matsui's altered DNA, since that would be a little...odd.

Vulpix! April 10th, 2009 9:46 PM

Lol. Yes i mean what you thought i did. Which would be like copying pure body, drizzle, ect.... And also does that mean i get to join?

dream's-epilogue April 10th, 2009 9:48 PM

Well, you seem inexperienced, but that's okay. Yeah, you can join. The RP starts sometime tomorrow or, at the latest, the day after.

The only way to get better is to practice. Welcome aboard!

(Just out of curiosity, do you have much writing experience?)

Ninetales1 April 11th, 2009 5:39 AM

And here are my signups. I spent quite a bit of time on them, that's for sure... Meh, I don't think I want them to have any shinies; I don't really like how their Pokemon's shiny versions look.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Yamiko Murakage
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Job/Role: Pokemon trainer and coordinator; occasionally a dancer
Personality: The last part of Yamiko's last name means "shadow", hence why she is an overall morose character. She most often has a somber yet calm air about her, the same feeling as if she were sitting in bed and staring out the window, contemplating things. She's definitely not an outgoing or overly optimistic person, but she is definitely emotional, so much that her very existence seems to revolve around "feeling" the situation at hand. It's very easy to tell when she's feeling sad, happy, uncomfortable, etc. Yet at the same time she has a certain grace to her, especially in how she shows emotion--it is that quality that shows up in many dances she has done, usually ballet dances to moody, classical songs.
If Yamiko were a Pokemon, she would definitely be a Gardevoir. It's not only because of the above qualities, but it's also because of the close bonds she's pretty easily capable of forming with people, and Pokemon even moreso. It's also because of her tendency to be empathetic. And finally, it's because of her willingness to guard those she loves with her life. She will often try to please her friends even if it means burdening or endangering herself in the process. Generally, she's very modest about herself, and puts the needs of her friends before her. Yet, she can stand being alone--in fact, there are several times when she prefers to be alone. When she can't be alone, sometimes she'll just close herself off mentally to everyone around her to "swim in her own thoughts".
Yamiko really likes to dance because she feels that dancing is the best way she can express her emotions, because she usually can't describe them in simple words. Plus, she has a penchant for visual beauty in general, which is probably why she's so interested in being a coordinator, and why she and Laverne (her Mismagius) understand each other very well. She really appreciates the beauty of the world and of nature, and opens her mind to any type of paranormal phenomenon. When she talks, she adds a more emotional tone of voice the more she means what she says, except if she's simply giving information about what's happening or what she's about to do. She also has a respectful attitude towards people, although people often see her as rather avoidant. This is because she hardly ever looks at a person's face and never into their eyes, even if she's talking to them. In all things, she's very quiet, unless perhaps she's in a very secluded place, in which case she spends quite a bit of time talking to herself.
Appearance: Yamiko is built as gently as a faery (although she has no wings nor magical powers of course)--her skin is smooth and soft and her body is light and quite flexible, though a little on the thin side. She's 5'2" tall and has a pleasant peach tone to her skin, and her eyes are a deep indigo. Her straight, soft hair falls down to her chest and is the colour of blood--though more black on the inside. Atop her head is a black hat with a small silver buckle on it.
As far as the rest of her usual outfit goes... Yamiko wears a black shirt that's embroidered with several blue roses at the neckline. It also has deep blue sleeves that are made of a silk-like material and reach her elbows, but they can only be seen if she takes off the sweater she wears on top of it. This sweater is a deep violet in colour and has two large pockets on the sides, and is fastened by two large purple buttons near the waist and a tie around the waist. It also has sleeves that flare out and nearly cover her hands, and have a button on the end. Then she wears blue jeans which flare out similar to bell bottoms, and black sneakers underneath.Yamiko also carries a large black shoulder bag with a rectangular shape and a purple faery design on it. Appropriate eh?
Background: The Murakage family has long been called the "family of shadows". Its members were known to have a certain elusive charm to them, yet they were cloaked in ill fortune. Yamiko was no exception; she lived her life under a curse, supposedly cast upon her by Celia, her great-grandmother, although Celia referred to it as the "Murakage Curse", implying that it could have been there for several generations. All Yamiko knew was that it certainly did affect her mother, who died while giving birth to her. As for Yamiko herself, she lived her first three years in Saffron City, Kanto, with her father, Dan, who used to be a stage magician. In fact, she lived across the street from where Sabrina lived (she was still a kid then), and saw her fairly often--though never talked to her but once. That time, Sabrina denied her request to be friends, oddly enough--and even said that Dan was a poor excuse for a psychic Pokemon trainer (he had a Mime Jr). Too bad, she was the only other child on the block...
Dan had no other job--he even said that the Murakage curse rubbed off on him from Yamiko's mother and caused him to contract a disease that weakened his hands and thus made him unable to perform magic tricks, and also to prevent him from finding another job. Fortunately, he had money saved up... but that all changed. One day he and little Yamiko went to the bank to deposit all his savings, but on the way there, four young men ambushed them and beat Dan up, took the money, and left--while Yamiko hid around a corner. From that point on, the two were very poor, and eventually had to move to a homeless shelter in the outskirts of Saffron. There they stayed for a few years, until the police decided Yamiko lived in "unsafe conditions" and put her in an orphanage instead. It was at that time that Yamiko started taking ballet lessons, and started to like it quite a bit. Dancing felt good to her, especially when she got better at it. She found she did best with solo dances to sad, slow songs to musicals and such, where she could express the despair she felt in life clearly. Apparently she did very well at it; she won the talent show in school one year.
Then when Yamiko was twelve, a lesbian couple living in the Orange Islands adopted her. There she had an older sister named Penelope and her mothers were fairly wealthy. However, she didn't care for Penelope too much; she was too much of a "prissy, stuck-up athlete". Moreover, although her mothers were otherwise nice, they didn't think a Pokemon journey was a very good thing to her. Thus when she was seventeen, she snuck away and boarded a ferry for Valencia Island, where she received an Eevee from Professor Ivy (who she nicknamed Velvet). However, Ivy couldn't give her a Pokedex, so she had to obtain one later on.
Kanto brought too many bad memories for Yamiko, so she journeyed to Sinnoh instead, after learning about Hearthome City's contest hall there. Yamiko didn't really work on earning badges, but she did do quite a bit of journeying... (and finally got a Pokedex from Professor Rowan). At that time, Team Galactic wasn't as big a threat, but Team Rocket had some business there. Unfortunately, after a while of traveling, someone from Team Rocket kidnapped Velvet, devastating Yamiko. Not only was Yamiko beginning to form a close bond with Velvet; Velvet was her only Pokemon, meaning she was left Pokemon-less. In the time after that, Yamiko was left to wander aimlessly around Sinnoh, unable to catch another Pokemon, unwilling to return home. Yamiko thought all hope was lost for her, that the curse was about to take her life...
(For the rest, see her second Pokemon's background and the Combined History at the bottom.)
Skills: Hmm, I doubt dancing would do much good in a world of war... Fortunately, Yamiko does have a few more useful skills. First of all, she's very good at reading other people's emotions--even a very subtle facial expression can sometimes give it away for her. Secondly, she's good at lying, in part because she can come up with reasonable excuses for a situation--in other words, she can use common sense. Also, she's good with maps and directions, and has an excellent memory--except for names.
Pokemon:
Spoiler:
Nickname: Velvet
Species: Espeon
Gender: Female
Moves: Psychic, Morning Sun, Calm Mind, Hyper Beam
Appearance: Velvet is smaller than the average Espeon--1'4" in length (not including tail), about the size of a domestic cat. She also wears a pendant around her neck--a small star made of amethyst.
Personality: Generally, Velvet has a rather timid nature, and tries to stay away from trouble. When she was an Eevee, she was a bit afraid--or at least very distrusting--of other people, in case they intended to harm her. This is likely because of Team Rocket's kidnapping of her, which she could have prevented by evolving sooner. Nowadays she can usually tell when someone intends to harm her or Yamiko, so she might warm up to people if she senses no danger. If there is danger, she'll back away and then try to escape (or sometimes, go back into her Pokeball), or if it's serious enough, she'll give the person a good Hyper Beam. Like Yamiko, she has an urge to protect those she loves--especially Yamiko, her trainer and protector, and Lupin, who rescued her from Team Rocket. However, if the danger is especially perilous, she'll hide straight away.
Also like Yamiko, Velvet is very shy, but she will ask favours of others occasionally if the need arises. Unlike her, she doesn't worry about things as much; she's at the most careful about situations. (Perhaps that's how she was able to learn Calm Mind...) She normally does not like to battle that much, but if she's in immediate danger in a battle, or if she's up against a trainer she senses evil in, she'll give a battle everything she's got and perhaps a bit more. And despite her shyness, she gets nervous when left alone, and really does need love and attention.
Background: Velvet was Yamiko's first Pokemon; she was actually born inside Professor Ivy's lab. Inside the lab, she was quite lonely; she was the only Eevee in the lab at the time, and many of the others thought her to be a bit of an emo. She often looked to Ivy for attention, but Ivy was often too busy with research and such to spend time with her. After some time, though, Ivy got an idea: she would give the Eevee to someone who might be able to take good care of her. But who? Just as she was pondering this, she ran into Yamiko, who asked her about starting a Pokemon journey. Ivy explained that she could not give her a Pokedex (that was up to the other four professors of the main regions), but she did have a Pokemon in her lab who needed a new owner: none other than Velvet.
Skills/Abilities: Velvet has the ability to predict the day's weather, the immediate intentions of a person, and the next move of a rival Pokemon, but that's something pretty much any Espeon can do. In addition to that, Velvet is sensitive to Yamiko's thoughts and feelings, and sometimes she can read Yamiko's current thoughts if she's close enough to her. So in a way, Yamiko can send telepathic messages to Velvet, but not the other way around.
Spoiler:
Nickname: Laverne
Species: Mismagius
Gender: Female
Moves: Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Curse, Confuse Ray, Perish Song
Appearance: The tufts on the brim of her hat are navy blue in colour and look similar to hands. The orbs on her dress are a deep blood-red in colour.
Personality: A sadistic and malevolent Mismagius indeed. She enjoys watching people suffer, especially her enemies, which is why she loves to battle. (It's also why Pokemon that have battled with her usually don't want to battle her again.) In a battle she focuses on the foe's demise, and delights in inventing creative and wicked ways to take them down piece by piece. At the same time, she seems to treat every battle like a contest battle, in that she always makes a spectacle of her attacks. Perhaps she does this to astound and intimidate the foe, so that it has a better chance of holding still while being tortured to loss. When she loses a battle she lets out an earsplitting screech, but can recover easily from the loss.
If someone does something to offend her or harm Yamiko or Velvet, Laverne plots revenge, wanting to follow the enemy around until she can do something to frighten or torment them. She especially likes to chant little curses at such people, and later, sneak up on them and frighten them in various ways (usually by whispering things into their ear), and gather their fear in her orbs. In fact, she really does have quite an appetite for fear energy. Speaking of fear, the only thing she herself really fears (or maybe "hates" is a better word) is sunlight--she really can't stand it. As a result, she's usually grouchy in the morning and afternoon.
Just as Yamiko will guard Velvet with her life, Laverne will guard Yamiko with her life--or should I say afterlife. She actually can show affection for those who have helped her and those who share some of her interests and views on life. So overall, in short, one can say that she has a good heart cloaked in several layers of darkness.
Background: Laverne was originally captured by Celia just outside Mt. Silver. At the time, Celia was in about her eighties, and had a few other Pokemon she had had since her late teens. When Celia died, which was about a month before Yamiko was born, her other Pokemon stayed with her in her house, which she continued to haunt. Laverne, however, was able to leave the house because she hadn't been with Celia for as long as the other Pokemon. She wandered the world for the next eighteen years; much of that time was spent honing her abilities, for she was rather jealous of the fact that Celia's other Pokemon were far more experienced than she was. She especially had fun experimenting with her attacks and scaring random people and Pokemon. Actually, she was biding her time for sixteen years, until Celia's will told her to find Yamiko. It took Laverne another two years to actually find Yamiko, but she finally did, one evening in Sinnoh's Eterna Forest. When Laverne handed Yamiko the will, Yamiko was a bit taken aback at first; she really didn't want anything Celia willed to her for fear it might worsen the curse. It took a bit of pleading and waiting and following, but Yamiko finally accepted Laverne, who would accompany her on her Pokemon journey from then on.
Skills/Abilities: Laverne is quite a skilled sorceress/enchantress. Her most notable ability is to change the shape and path of her attacks (except Perish Song, obviously). Sometimes she can alter their effect a very slight bit as well. Some of her most common examples derive from her Dark Pulse. In one case, the pulse takes the shape of a dragon; in another, it splits up into several black flames, which cause a burn-like sensation but no physical burns, and are not made of actual fire. What she can't change is the colour, nor can she add any effect that is not very similar to the actual effect of the attack. Nor can she make them more powerful at will.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Name: Edwin "Lupin" Tasselbury
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Job/Role: Thief and Pokemon trainer
Personality: An outlaw at heart, Lupin has a penchant for sneaking his way around the rules. He always does so in a surreptitious manner, and goes by the motto "quickly, quietly, reasonably" so as to avoid getting caught. ("Reasonably" means "only when necessary" or "not just for the heck of it"). In general, he tends to be a rather quiet person (not to mention he never shouts or raises his voice), and is not too fond of social contact--in many cases, he prefers to do things alone. Most people would see him as being very serious, quite a bit cold-hearted, even a slight bit intimidating--he certainly does have a dark aura about him. In fact, seriousness is the "emotion" he most commonly shows, with perhaps an occasional smirk or fret added in there.

Although Lupin is not normally talkative, he can be when faced with a rival or enemy, in which case his tone of voice can sound a tiny bit pedantic, as if to win them over by wit. Moreover, if he's asked a question he doesn't want to answer, he'll try to lead the asker away from the subject. And although Lupin mantains a cold and serious attitude towards strangers and even acquaintances, he sometimes "warms up" a bit when around his closest friends, which he currently has only six of anyway (two of which are his Pokemon). Even so, it takes him quite a while to form a close bond with someone (Yamiko being the only exception), as well as to trust someone. In fact, he does have a tendency to be selfish, though there are those times in which he will go out of his way to help a friend, or in very rare cases, a non-friend. One thing he does have is a lot of willpower--he will endure or overcome a perilous situation to the absolute best of his ability.

As far as other things go, Lupin is not too fond of bright lights, and is thus nocturnal. Also, though he doesn't seem to have much respect for people's property, he does have great respect of nature. Thirdly, it's nigh impossible for him to fall in love with or be attracted to someone--I doubt even a siren or love potion would work very well. Last of all, his major weakness is his past, when it catches up to him and finds its way into his thoughts. He gets depressed about it at random times; it is these times when being alone in a remote place is his top priority. Lastly, although Lupin seems to put up a lot of blocks against people, Yamiko (and only Yamiko) seems to have the power to break through those blocks.

Appearance: Lupin is 5'9" tall. His deep brown eyes are clearly visible behind rectangular glasses, because his hair--which is wavy, straw-coloured, and reaches about to his shoulders--isn't thick enough to get in the way. His skin is quite pale due to lack of sunlight, and although he definitely looks and feels thin-figured, he's actually in pretty good shape.

Perhaps part of the reason why Lupin seems a bit intimidating is the fact that he wears all black. All his clothes hug his figure without being tight on him. His coat is especially striking in that sense--it's long enough to reach down to his thighs, and has dark purple embroidery on the bottom, neck, and ends of sleeves. It has a row of golden buttons down the front, and one on each sleeve, and it has four pockets on the outside. He wears a shirt underneath this coat, but no one ever sees it because he always buttons the coat all the way up to his neck. The sleeves of the coat are just long enough to cover part of his hands, which are covered with black fingerless gloves which revel his long, thin fingers. In addition to all that, Lupin wears a pair of black trousers and black leather shoes.

Background: Edwin lived the early years of his life in a flat in Lilycove City, Hoenn. His father worked at a rather prestigious and expensive restaurant called the Golden Swan, although he just washed dishes and swept floors and didn't get paid much. The Tasselbury family was in fact quite poor, poor enough that Dad didn't want a child because it would be too expensive to raise. Mum managed to convince him otherwise, but she really wanted a daughter, and was thus a bit disappointed when Edwin was born. The first three or so years were pretty much okay, but Dad soon got sick of him, maybe even angry for him being a "financial burden". Thus he often took to hitting and even torturing him, in as many ways as possible. (It would probably not be wise to go into detail at this point.) That or he would lock him up in the closet while he went to spend time alone with Mum.

Fortunately, there were some good points. First of all, Edwin eventually figured out how to work his way through the lock on the closet door and his bedroom door. Secondly, he frequently snuck out of the flat at night to explore the city. It was on these ventures that he started to develop his thieving skills, as he needed them to obtain food and money (his parents certainly didn't give him much). Being nocturnal really did have its benefits. Also, as time passed, Mum noticed all the money he had stolen and was actually a bit proud of him--perhaps the family had a second source of income now. Unfortunately, Dad's behaviour and attitude didn't change--if anything, it got worse. Eventually, Edwin decided he'd endured enough of it, and ran away when he was ten, immedately hitchhiking on a ship headed out of the region.

The ship went to Kanto, where Edwin was brought to an orphanage for a while before being adopted by another family--so now he had new parents and two brothers--though one was also adopted. He actually got along quite well with his brothers, who found the stories of his life painful yet interesting. They were especially moved by his nighttime ventures in Lilycove. So moved, in fact, that all three of them, plus a friend who lived nearby, formed their own little gang: the Black Cat Bandits. All four members also gave themselves nicknames at this time, and of course from then on Edwin was known as Lupin.

The Black Cat Bandits spent the next six years or so wandering around Kanto and other regions (they even got their first Pokemon after a while), having fun but causing a few secret misdeeds along the way--several small acts of theft (once or twice of cars), one member's little idea of trying to hack into the database of a certain corporation, and even a successful robbery of the Game Corner. Yet after that time, they parted ways in order to get started on other careers. In Lupin's case, he was invited to join Team Rocket by one of its scouts, yet he refused to wear the uniform, saying it would "give him away", and he refused to take Pokemon from trainers. All was well there (he hardly ever failed an assignment), until Lupin saw a fellow Rocket take an Espeon from someone familiar... Yamiko! Needless to say, he dropped out of the team after that...

(For the rest, see Combined History at the bottom.)

Skills: Lupin's strongest skills are in pickpocketing and lockpicking; his high level of manual dexterity certainly helps with both. He certainly does specialise in stealing small objects frrom various places... Besides all that, he has quick reaction time and a very, very basic knowledge of hacking. Lastly, though not really a skill, he carries around a weapon called a "Firewand" which has a retractable wire "blade" surrounded by an electric current. This can be used to temporarily stun people for a certain length of time, depending on where it hits.

Pokemon:

Spoiler:
Nickname: Rigel
Species: Arcanine
Gender: Male
Moves: Flamethrower, Extremespeed, Safeguard, Helping Hand, Attract
Appearance: Rigel is slightly bigger than thee average Arcanine, and his fur colouring is slightly different. It's dark red in colour with black stripes, with white tufts of long fur. And, his eyes are a bright blue, like big shining blue stars. (Probably how he got his name.)
Personality: Rigel is a very loyal Pokemon, and a steadfast friend. He always cares about those who are close to him, and shows it. He's also quite generous in that he likes to show affection for others, and also to help them out in whatever way he can. So in a way he's the handyman of this group here. For example, he frequently keeps others warm on cold days by cuddling up next to them. He also is obliged to have people ride on him, though usually he won't let let strangers do such a thing. He has a protective nature, and is concerned about the health and well-being of his friends--especially Lupin, his trainer. What a gentle and kind-hearted canine indeed, though he can be restless at times.

Yet on the other hand, Rigel can be quite the lover boy sometimes. Sometimes he can't help but stare at and follow some female Pokemon, especially ones that look sort of like him. He even has a little crush on Artemis once in a while, and makes occasional comments about how beautiful Velvet looks while she's sleeping. Perhaps this is one reason why he loves to use Attract in a battle, although he can also become so infatuated by the other Pokemon (even if she doesn't use Attract) that he'll be hesitant to battle her. This particular trait of his is what really annoys Lupin sometimes... along with the fact that he prefers to be diurnal. (Though the latter means he can act as a watchdog while Lupin sleeps, if only he were a bit more patient.)

Background: Lupin, along with his fellow Black Cat Bandits, attended a Pokemon academy in Solaceon Town for a while. This one wasn't as prestigious as the one in Jubilife City was, but as it was right near the Pokemon daycare, there were lots of Pokemon around for the students to practise with and play with in their free time. What was also unique about this academy is that when someone "graduated" from it, he or he received a Pokedex as well as a Pokemon. This Pokemon could be one of the young ones raised by the academy, or a Pokemon the student caught in one of the Pokemon-catching lessons. The latter was the type Rigel was; he was a wild Growlithe roaming around just south of Solaceon, and Lupin caught him with the help of a Luxio owned by the academy.

Skills/Abilities: Rigel doesn't really have any special skills or abilities other than what's typical of his species. The only thing that might put him a notch above the average Arcanine is the fact that he's big and strong enough to carry two people on his back and still be able to run at nearly full speed.

Spoiler:
Nickname: Artemis
Species: Mightyena
Gender: Female
Moves: Howl, Poison Fang, Thief, Take Down
Appearance: The lighter parts of her fur are more lavender in colour; the darker parts pitch black. Other than that, she doesn't look too different from the average Mightyena.
Personality: Sagacious and level-headed, Artemis is usually the one who keep the group focused and on terms with reality. Behaving sort of like the alpha female of the group, she looks after everyone and keeps them together, and sometimes even leads them along on adventures. In all things she goes by her instincts and uses common sense, and won't let any worries or distracting thoughts get in the way of her actions. She remains serious and focused, and doesn't kid or play around--so one can call her mature in a sense. Often times she uses this to her advantage--for example, if she were in a battle with Laverne, while Laverne spent time singing and preparing intricate attack designs, she would rush in and attack, catching her off guard.

Artemis is named so because of her tendency to be a leading, almost motherly figure, and because in her free time she loves to bask in the moonlight. She truly is a motherly figure to Lupin, who often claims that she "acts like his third mother". Although not his first Pokemon, she feels a good sense of attachment to Lupin already, looking after him and serving as an extra set of eyes and ears and noses. She oten ends up being a scout in an unfamiliar area, and reports any dangers back.

Background: Before Artemis was captured, she lived in a section of the woods near the Turnback Cave, with a small pack of mostly Mightyenas; she herself was a Poochyena then. The only other Poochyena in the pack was her little brother, who was blind, so she often looked after him when most of the pack was out hunting. Unfortunately, she didn't do a good enough job of it; once while the two Poochyenas were alone, a Seviper came by and attacked the blind one. She immediately howled to call the pack, but the only individual who came was a Growlithe--Rigel, to be specific, closely followed by Lupin. Rigel was able to fight the Seviper off, but by that time, the blind Poochyena had already died of poisoning. Artemis was saddened by this, but as a thanks to Lupin and Rigel, she challenged them to a battle, which ended in her being captured.

Skills/Abilities: Artemis has very good night vision, and has a knack for seeing things that usually go unnoticed. She's also a pretty good swimmer, oddly enough.

Combined History: (for both Yamiko and Lupin)

Both backgrounds mention Yamiko or Edwin being put in an orphanage in Kanto; in fact, they were in the same orphanage at the same time, and that was where they first met. However, they lost touch with each other when they were adopted...

Let's fast forward a bit. A month or so after Velvet was kidnapped (after Yamiko "caught" Laverne), Yamiko stayed in a hotel one night. In the middle of the night, someone broke into her hotel room, but that person turned out to be Lupin, whom she had recognised from the orphanage. What was even more surprising was what he was holding: Velvet, who he had snatched from Team Rocket's storage room the evening before. From then on, Yamiko and Lupin traveled together on a Pokemon journey, and even became boyfriend and girlfriend at that time. However, trouble struck before too long. One sunny morning, a bunch of Team Rocket people came along and took away not Velvet, but Lupin, mentioning something about him being "sent to prison" for "having an affair with a victim".

Lupin's conviction became another devastation in Yamiko's book of misfortune--in fact, at times she wondered if the situation was partially her fault, just for being with him. In her mind she punished herself for falling in love with him in the first place. At some points this left her depressed enough to think about suicide (which, ironically, Laverne prevented her from committing), but during those lighter days when she was not feeling too bad, she used this alone time to enter Pokemon contests. It was also during this time that both her Pokemon evolved. But Laverne was definitely her favourite Pokemon to use in a contest; she was really able to work with her on shaping her attacks. That ability was actually partially learned from Velvet; her training with that started off with Velvet using telekinesis to bend Laverne's attacks into different shapes and paths.

While all this was going on, Lupin was still in prison; this prison was rather unique in that it was owned by Team Rocket, and held disobedient Team Rocket members and other serious threats to the organisation. The Sinnoh branch of Team Rocket was always known for being more cruel than its (though larger) Kanto/Johto branch. They even had a habit of torturing their prisoners for information, which in Lupin's case was often things like where Yamiko lived or what her Pokedex ID number was, or what attacks Velvet knew. Fortunately, though, after about two weeks he managed to escape from this prison, which was a huge shock to not only Yamiko (she was obviously overjoyed when she ran into him a week later), but Team Rocket as well (apparently he was the first person to have escaped from there).

The Black Cat Bandits came to Lupin's assistance immediately after his escape, and soon after recruited Yamiko as well. All five of them made it their goal to take down the Sinnoh branch of Team Rocket, and thus started to come up with a plan, which centered around spying on Team Rocket's motives. However, before this plan could come to fruition, there came that fateful night. One night, Yamiko and Lupin were taking a nice walk outside, in a remote area of Floaroma Meadow. All of a sudden, they began to feel drowsy, as if some invisible Butterfree was sprinkling Sleep Powder on them. Whatever the case, they eventually got so tired that they lay down on the tall grass, and went to sleep...

When Yamiko and Lupin woke up, it was morning, and they were not in Floaroma Meadow. Instead, they were on some unfamiliar hill overlooking some unfamiliar valley, which looked like a war zone. Clearly they were not in Sinnoh anymore...

I have plans for now, but I will start the RP sometime later today. If you still need to sign-up or finish/edit a sign-up, do it ASAP.

cookie_lovr April 11th, 2009 2:05 PM

-____-;; Can people stop having fully evolved pokemon in their RP?
It's quite redundant because what is the use of pokemon if none of your pokemon ever evolve?

P.S. I'm editing this post to make my first "RP" post so I don't double post.
P.S.S. Never mind. ^^"" RP started!

Clark April 11th, 2009 2:38 PM

Wow. This started moving fast... Anyhoo, I never planned on giving my chara any real 'power', 'specially not psychic abilities, so don't worry. ;D

A bit off topic of the RP, but... Cookie_Lovr, I think some people may like to use evolved 'mons because there are so many "new-trainer" RPs out there. Everyone's been in an RP (or ten) where they've got starters and newly-caught Pokemon to evolve, so when they get the chance it's kind of fun to have them evolved and trained from the start. Just a matter of opinion, though, I guess.

dream's-epilogue April 11th, 2009 3:36 PM

That, and there are NO WILD POKEMON in this world to catch. If people are going to survive, they need everything they can get, and if everyone just had unevolved starters, this would be very tough, especially considering you're dealing with armies of trained soldiers, raiders and bandits with guns and vehicles, and all kinds of other nasty surprises.

Things are shaky time-wise right now for me. I may or may not be leaving in a matter of minutes, so I'm going to wait just a bit longer to start.

Ninetales1 April 11th, 2009 3:42 PM

I agree with what Piez says. If the RPG is not specifically for beginning trainers, some people like to sign up as slightly more experienced trainers. Many people consider trainer experience an advantage in an RPG like this, where the emphasis is not so much on training Pokemon as it is on survival in an unfamiliar world. But I know how you feel; I started an RPG once where most of the other characters had full teams of fully evolved Pokemon, whereas all my character had were a Piplup and a Venonat. (Each character also had a legendary Pokemon, but that was a different story...)

Oh, and I finally finished my signup, so I'm ready for this RPG to start!

dream's-epilogue April 11th, 2009 3:48 PM

Yeah, Nine, you're in. When I start, I'll edit the first post with a roster; if you signed up but aren't on the roster, and I didn't tell you to fix anything, then just PM me.

(And so we begin.)

When he awoke, Matsui immediately noticed something wrong. He felt not the soft fabric of his bed, but rather the rough grind of dirt and grass. He sat up and looked around. He was outside.

And everything was gone.

He was on a hill. The sky was dark and gloomy, yet he felt no rain, saw no lightning, heard no thunder. He looked off into the distance, and saw bleak forests and the outlines of what once must've been cities. He noticed several plumes of smoke and a lot of unfamiliar sounds coming from one side of the hill. He ran over and looked down. He was horrififed.

Below, nestled in a valley, was a town; or rather, what used to be one. The entire city was in ruins. The plumes of smoke seemed to be emerging from numerous fires around the city; buildings, vehicles, and...other things. There was a horrid odor coming from below, one he didn't recognize, but one that made him ill nonetheless.

He stumbled backwards. He turned, and saw Maia and Iyo lying nearby, unconscious. Several others, human and pokemon alike, were alos lying around in a similar state.

His mind reeled. He searched his memories for what might've happened. And he understood. He turned, and screamed at the blackened sky.

<YOU! WHOEVER YOU ARE, SHOW YOURSELVES! YOU DID THIS TO US, DIDN'T YOU?! YOU BROUGHT US HERE! ADMIT IT!>

Maia managed to climb to her feet, and walked over to the hill. When she looked down, she froze. Matsui noticed her. She turned to him, a look of absolute terror on her face.

<Ma-Matsui, what happened? Where...where are we?>

Matsui was speaking furiously.

<Where are we?! We're in hell, can't you tell?!>

<H-Hell...? But...but how...?>

<Don't tell me you never noticed it?! Everything about our home, our lives, everything! Didn't any of it feel wrong to you?!>

<I...why are...>

<That's it! Of course you don't! Because you were in on it the whole time, weren't you?!>

<Wh-what?! Matsui, I->

<SHUT UP! YOU AND IYO WERE IN IT TOGETHER, WEREN'T YOU?! DID YOU GET ENOUGH SICK LAUGHS AT MANIPULATING ME, HUH?! AT MAKING MY LIFE A LIE?!>

Maia's eyes started to water. She gave a hurt response.

<Why are you accusing me?! I don't know anything! Please, I'm your friend, just like I always was! I don't know where we are! I'd never do something like that to you, you have to believe me!>

<HAH! I doubt that! You're in it, along with Iyo, and those sick bastards hiding out there too! And I bet all of them are in on it as well!>

He grabbed the nearest being, in this case a Pikachu with ruffled hair, and began shaking the unconscious mouse violently.

<ARE YOU ENJOYING THIS?! HUH?! WAKE UP, DAMMIT!>

<MATSUI! STOP!>

He stopped, and looked Maia, dropping the still-unconscious Pikachu to the ground. His eyes began to water.

<I...I...>

<Matsui...you know I'd never do anything that cruel to you...>

<I...Maia, I'm...>

He fought his tears, and managed to control them. She wasn't so successful. While she sobbed, Matsui closed his eyes and clenched his paws, bolts of electricity shooting from his cheeks. Maia, through her tears, managed to speak.

<It's...it's really all gone, isn't it?>

<...yeah.>

They stood in silence for a bit, the roar of gunfire echoing in the distance, and the plumes of smoke snaking lazily into the sky. Nearby, Iyo woke, stood up, stretched, and yawned. He saw the two of them.

"What'd I miss?"

(Don't leave the group yet, okay? For now, just react to your awakening and the other players. Once everyone's set up, we'll all formulate a plan.)

Clark April 11th, 2009 8:47 PM

A barely-teenaged girl sat slowly up with a yawn, stretching her arms as she did so. She was always up early, and today was no exception. After all, she had training to get to. Though she was barely awake she knew that one addition to her prized collection of badges remained… She’d have to get going as soon as possible—

“Wait…” Serafina muttered, blinking a few times to make sure she was seeing properly.

The cozy room she’d fallen asleep in had evaporated into… well, she wasn’t rightly sure what kind of a place this was. Everything was gray and smoggy as if it had been coated in a layer of ash. Judging by the look of the place, possibly the ash of cremated bodies… Ruins of buildings hinted toward the former presence of a town or city. Smoky forbidding clouds seemed to tell more of past fires than future rain. There was a stale smell in the air. It reminded Sera of the morgue she’d been unfortunate enough to visit on one occasion, after the death of her grandmother. She wrinkled her nose. It was the smell of death.

“This ain’t the Pokémon Center…”

She heard a loud noise; yelling of some sort. A hand instinctively flashed down to her belt, snagging a metallic orb and lifting it within a matter of milliseconds. The dark green-and-black Pokeball shuddered, as if its contents had noticed her sudden reaction. Figuring she might need someone to confirm that she wasn’t insane, Sera pressed her index finger against the red button on the Dusk Ball. The resulting burst wasn’t really a flash of light as much as it was a flash of dark. What little of the gray light that hung glumly over the landscape was around the ball ended up ‘absorbed’ by blackness, and after a quick moment a shape materialized from the eerie display. It was gracefully bent over, elegant ears twitching and red eyes flicking back and forth. The Pokémon quietly muttered a swear word that would go best unmentioned between clenched teeth.

-… The hell?- he added with not-so-typical uncertainty, considering it was Jasper who was speaking.

“I know, right?” his trainer replied, “Before you ask, I don’t have any idea where we are, either. Sorry to disappoint ya’.”

-No, not ‘dat. I was talkin’ ‘bout the Raichu.-

“Raichu?”

Jasper pointed a fluffy paw in the direction of something Sera hadn’t expected to see: other life, in the form of a Raichu, an Eevee, and a boy around her age. They weren’t exactly close enough to overhear all they were talking about or to see their expressions, but they were pretty close by. It was then Sera also noticed that there were others... All laying about on the hill, most of them unconscious.

“… Oh. And?” she asked her Pokémon, wondering what he meant.

-Bloody hell, ya' didn’t hear the stupid rodent screamin' his lungs off? I swear, I could hear the damn noise from inside my Pokeball, for Arceus’ sake!-

That’s what the yelling must’ve been… Sera thought silently. She then grinned, despite her unexpected situation. “So, you’re upset that some other trainer’s Pokémon was screaming like a maniac, but you aren’t the least bit bothered by the fact that you’re… well, wherever the heck this place is?”

Jasper responded with a scowl. -Yeah… Well, dat too. Did Alex finally manage to light the world on fire or somethin'?-

Sera was about to laugh and come up with some sort of witty reply when she came to a sickening realization. She reached for her Pokeball-belt with about as much shock as she had before. Jaspy… Earnest… Theo… Aw, crap. She had three Pokémon back at the Center… Wherever that was now. That meant she was stuck here with her irate Lopunny, her overly-feminine Roselia, and her dumb-as-a-brick Bastiodon. Of course, she wouldn’t have been much better off with her suicidal Luxio, human-hating Sneasel, or the aforementioned Alex (a pyromaniac Lumineon). Sera happened to have some pretty strange Pokémon, which made her ability to communicate perfectly with them a bit awkward at times. Hopefully the few she did have with her would be helpful in this equally-strange setting.

“… Maybe we should talk to the guy with the Raichu?” she suggested. They’d need all the cooperation they could get if they hoped to figure out where the heck they were.

-Are you kidding?- hissed Jasper, -I think my ears are still bleeding…-

Sera grinned, taking that as a yes. It wasn’t as if one could get a positive response out of Jasper.

“Hey,” she called, awkwardly rushing over to the other trainer and his Pokémon, “I don’t suppose ya’ know what’s goin’ on any more than we do…?” Jasper grunted in dismay, cursing under his breath as he followed Sera.

Please tell us our pokemon can learn moves in the RP.
Anyway-- last question-- can we start in the REAL beginning? I wanna go through all the dramatic events. :]

Vulpix! April 12th, 2009 8:42 AM

Where am I? thought Flame The last thing that i remember is playing with some of my friend pokemon...... Looking around Flame noticed a group of pokemon chattering. Skirting over there Flame was about to talk to them, but thought better of it. Feeling a bit weak Vulpix looked for a sign of berry growth. Spotting a small patch of pogo berries Flame ran down the small cliff to the berries not to far from the others. He decided he would grab some berries in case any of the other pokemon wanted one or two. Eating about two berries got Flame rejuviated and ready to go for anything. Not knowing what to do Flame wandered around all the others trainers and pokemon alike. Some of these trainers looked peaceful and harmless in their sleep Flame was about to approach a Riachu, but thought better of it. Not knowing what to do Flame wandered over to some dead branches gathered them up and started a small fire with ember, curled up into a ball and pretended to sleep to listen to any future conversations. Flame slowly fell asleep after pretending got to tedious. When Flame finally awoke all was the same except he heard a screaming Riachu. He guessed it was the same one that he was thinking about going over to as before. Flame shouted in the pokemon language "Shut up! I can't sleep and.........Wait no i think you should scream more maybe it will wake up some of the others." Not knowing if it stopped or continued as Flame turned his attention away from the Riachu he curled back up and started to pretend to sleep.

( The italics are the thinking and speaking of the pokemon.)

((OOC: Waitwaitwait. Err... Vulpix? That was some serious bunnying. You aren't exactly supposed to go around controlling other people's characters... I wasn't intending to have Sera try to catch any wild Pokemon; she's got her team. And Earnest's a 'he'. And he hadn't ever been sent out of his Pokeball since Sera woke up. ^_^;))

dream's-epilogue April 12th, 2009 9:32 AM

(OOC: Vulpix? Try to avoid bunnying in the future. If you don't know, that's where you take control of another person's characters. If you get the person's perrmission first, it's fine. This is your first RP, so I'm cutting you some slack. From now on, just have your characters intereact with each other, and react to what's happening. If you want to interact with another person, talk to them, but don't put any dialogue by them, unless you're overhearing something they said in a previous post; let their owner read your dialogue and then reply with his own. If it's an uncontrolled NPC, feel free. IF you really want to control someone else's chara for some reason, please ask their permission first.

You'll get better, trust me.)

Flax April 12th, 2009 2:25 PM

A young man with spikey red hair, wearing a red shirt and a simple pair of blue jeans, which gotten all dirty from the ground he was lying down on, and woke up in a rather unplesant manner. He got up into a sitting position, tucking in his legs toward him as he yawned, mouth wide open and tears formed below his eyes. He wiped his tears tiresomely and opened his eyes, revealing his mischievous golden eyes.

"Uagh.. My back." Spark's first words from his awakening kinda sounded like that of an old, cranky man. He started to rub his back, hitting it once or two.. Spark scanned his eyes around, turning his head all around but he didn't bother to look behind him. He got up and dumped his hands into his warm pockets slothfully.

"What the hell?" Spark muttered monotonously. "What's this place? Eehh.." Spark didn't seem to give much concern about where he exactly was. He was still weary from his sudden awakening and was oblivious to his surroundings. He smacked his lips together, a few couple of times.. His mind began to recollect a few thoughts, trying to remember what exactly happened from before. "Ehh.. That's right. I used the suit.. But everything's a big blur after that." Spark checked his right wrist and his face suddenly blew up a bomb, making a dreadful face.

"N-no WAY! The watch's gone!!" Spark looked around in panic and eventually collasped to the ground. He slid his hands through the dead grass, staining them both in dirt. He began to crawl everywhere in the scene but eventually gave up. He lost the watch, that silver shiny something he always had in his possession. The watch happened to be the very device that allowed Spark to transform into Voltman, his chosen alias for his apparent superego. Spark is a super hero, though this is according to his own words. In logical sense and judgement, he really isn't an actual super hero, like those from a fictional comic book. He's most definately not the kind of super hero most people think about. Having notable antagonistic traits, as well as his twisted view on "Justice", Spark acts more like a criminal. Besides that, Spark is simply a oridinary lab assistant to a renowned scientist, who is just testing out a powerful suit that can absorb and manipulate eletricity. Nothing more or less. Of course, Spark neglected this childishly and strongly believes that he can become an actual Super Hero, using the experimental suit.

Spark stood up - his entire body now stained in so much dirt, especially his hands and his knees. Judging his appearence, he looked like a street person.

"I lost the watch! I lost it!!" Spark exclaimed in dread and panic. He started to scratch his head, looking as if he was clawing through his skull, trying to pull out his brain or something.. "Oh, crap.. Doc's gunna kill me if I don't get that watch back!!" Spark's face was filled with sudden realization, as if a little light bulb above his head just turned on. "Oh, hell! Forget the Doc! What about me!? I need that watch!!" Spark's commotion was alerting the others. The fact that he's yelling at himself, made him seem a bit.. senile.

Spark roamed all over the place like a pest, looking hastedly throughout the few piles of dead grass and ashes (which, for some reason, didn't seem unnatural to Spark) and going through the gastly smoke which occassionally him cough once or twice.. maybe three times but who's counting? "Come on! It can't be that far!" Spark began to move around at a quicker and more reckless pace. Totally oblivious as always, Spark eventually bumped into Jasper, not realizing the bipedal rabbit (or anyone else for that matter). Spark failed to maintain his balance after bumping into the Pokemon and fell backwards, pummeling down pretty hard into the ground. And unfortunately for Spark, his head dived right into a small rock.. Ouch.

PikaPikachu April 12th, 2009 4:00 PM

A loud boom had awaken Franklin. He was now just rising and rubbing his eyes clear. A musty fog covered the skyline.

This isn't where I fell asleep. Franklin thought to himself. He quickly made note of his surroundings. A group of trainers and their pokemon were all he could see on the hilltop. As the trainers awoke and began to realize where they are, Franklin quickly jumped around to see the what surround below the hill.

What looked like a forest was below. It seemed as huge tanks had rolled through. Before making any other decisions Franklin ran and looked for Julius.

'Julius!'

'Wh-, what Franklin?'

'Don't you see?! This isn't the same place we fell asleep last night!'

'Oh dang. Its not. What happened?'

'I have no idea. But there is other trainers and their Pokemon around. Should we stay with them?'

'I don't know. Let's see what they have to say and then make up our minds. This could be a dangerous place, and I don't want us getting into anything we can't handle.'

'Alright sounds like a game plan.'

Franklin and Julius sat on the hilltop awaiting the rest of the trainers to awake. Staying out of the way they were hardly noticed.

Ninetales1 April 12th, 2009 7:47 PM

As Yamiko and Lupin sat there in that strange place, they began to wonder how they got there. Perhaps someone used some sort of a sleeping gas on them, then carried them to this place? Perhaps an unseen Pokemon put them to sleep with Spore or Sleep Powder, and this was a dream?
"Odd, isn't it?" Yamiko commented as she began to stand up. "I hope we're not in any danger or anything..."
At that time, she began to look through her pockets and her bag, making sure she still had everything.
"If this is Team Rocket's doing," Lupin wondered as he did the same, "...even so, I don't think they can pull of anything quite like this. They can throw us in a cage, but not into a completely different world..."
"The strangest things always happen to us, don't they?" Yamiko complained. "Fortunately we weren't separated because of it, but neverth..."

"I lost the watch! I lost it!!" someone shouted all of a sudden. Yamiko looked over to see a spiky-haired boy panicking, running around and scratching his head furiously.
"Oh, crap... Doc's gonna kill me if I don't get that watch back!! ...Oh hell! Forget the Doc! What about me!? I need that watch!!"
Yamiko had a hard time keeping herself from snickering. After a while she glanced at Lupin.
"You didn't steal that watch he's talking about, did you?"
Lupin shook his head. "What use do I have for a watch? You know how bad I am at selling stuff. I heed the 'reasonably' part of our motto. Besides, a watch is a very hard thing to steal when the wearer is awake, and all these people are close to waking up anyway. I couldn't have even done it in my sleep, since we were still on our walk five minutes ago."
"Even so," Yamiko figured, "it seems that all these people here are in the same situation as we are. Therefore, they're likely our allies. And from the looks of things, they're Pokemon trainers, just like us. Still, we can't be completely sure."

Meanwhile, an Eevee and a Raichu were watching what was going on in the valley, a Pikachu and a Sandshrew were watching the group from higher up on the hill, and a boy and a girl were talking to each other, probably wondering about where they were. The boy who lost his watch bumped into an annoyed-looking Lopunny, fell, and hit his head on a rock.
"He reminds me of how I felt when I lost Velvet..." Yamiko recalled. "That watch must have been very special to him."
Speaking of Velvet, how would the Pokemon react to this world? She took out Velvet's Pokeball...

"Normally that would be a good idea," Lupin commented, "but not when there's crowds of people..."
"But maybe if someone here happens to know about this place, they'll miss important information if they're in their Pokeballs."
With that, she relesed her two Pokemon from their Pokeballs. Lupin soon followed her example and did the same. Out came a Mismagius, Espeon, Mightyena, and Arcanine.

"Mis..." Upon exiting into this strange world, Laverne shut her eyes tight, startled a bit by the brightness of the sun. It was times like these that she was glad she was wearing a hat. Soon enough, Lupin agreed with how annoyingly harsh the sunlight was starting to become, and thus took out a small black umbrella and shielded himself with it. Meanwhile, the three quadripeds took a look around.
<"Where are we?"> Rigel asked.
<"Why in the world would Lupin bring us to a place like this?"> Artemis wondered, taking in the scenery. <"Unless to get another part for that thing Halberd's working on.">
<"I don't think so,"> Velvet commented, the gem on her forehead flashing. <"It feels like there's been a battle of some sort going on, and from the looks of things, it's a war battle.">
<"That's odd,"> Artemis remarked. <"Since when has there been a war in Sinnoh?">
<"Well, either something very fishy's going on,"> Velvet guessed, <"or we're not in Sinnoh anymore.">
"So I take it you're wondering what's going on as well?" Yamiko asked the three Pokemon. "Well, it seems that somehow we've been transported to this strange land. Just a few minutes ago, so it seems, we were walking around at night back in Sinnoh. Now, it seems like we're in a completely different part of the world."
Silence.
Yamiko let out a sigh. "That stupid curse, it keeps getting weirder and weirder. Why does Celia keep doing this to me?"
Laverne shook her head, as she always did when Yamiko mentioned Celia and the curse she put on her.

Having not that much else to do, Yamiko decided to walk over to where the boy and the girl were talking.
"...I take it you don't know where we are either?" Yamiko asked the girl, who looked to be about her size, sounding a bit nervous. "Did you just wake up here all of a sudden like my boyfriend and I did? I know how strange it is; it's as if someone spirited us away to this world. That, or this is all a nightmare. Whatever it is, here we are and we have to find a way back home. ...Where are you from anyway? And you?"
Here she indicated the boy this girl was trying to talk to. "If we came from completely different places, this is even more suspicious."

Lupin started walking towards where Yamiko was, but before he did, he said something to the watchless boy:
"Try to think about where you last had it. Maybe it got left behind somehow when you got there--although I think that unlikely."

"...The two of us were in Sinnoh last night," Yamiko continued to the curly-haired girl, "but all of a sudden something put us to sleep..."
"...and here we are," came a rather deep and serious-toned voice from behind. Apparently Lupin had arrived at the conversation.

Meanwhile, Laverne floated over to the boy who hit his head on the rock. She started rubbing his forehead with one of the tips of her skirt (which she often used as a "hand"), then poked him twice on the shoulder and pointed to where the other awake people (Yamiko, Lupin, Iyo, and Sera) were standing.

Artemis then decided to walk over to the Pikachu and Sandshrew sitting on the hill.
<"Have you any idea where we are,"> she asked them, sounding more inquiring than confused. <"or are you just as confused as everyone else? Somehow those other Pokemon down there and I--and our trainers--woke up in this world all of a sudden. And from what that Espeon tells me, there was a huge war battle going on in that valley, but it's starting to die down a little.">

Starr Reever started in the Johto region with his supportive parents. They already let him go on his vacation, or as he would call it, an adventure of a lifetime. This was only one day ago. They also gave him daily essentials like his PokeGear to contact them and more, food that probably won't last long, and other small portable items that could fit in his light backpack. He knew kids around the region did this, so why shouldn't he?
He even read in the Johto Journal (daily news broadcast on his PokeGear), that some dude named Ash Ketchup-- or something like that-- traveled the regions across the world for over five years or not. That is nearly a veteran for crying out loud! It also reports that a dumb trio named Team Rock-- I guess that's their name-- with a lady, a man, and a talking Meowth-- give me a break-- are stalkers and like following Ash, Brock, and the other girl that likes to tag along, but leaves after Ash defeats everything in that region. The people that travel or traveled with him include Brock-- Pewter City Gym Leader, Misty-- Cerulean City Gym Leader, Tracey-- not a girl, May-- she's that best FYI, Max-- son of the Petalburgh City Gym Leader, and Dawn-- a blue haired girl.

Starr started in Cherrygrove City, since that is where his home resided in. He soon went down to New Bark Town to get his Pokeballs and his Pokedex. He was then out in Route 1 on the first day of his adventure. He didn't find any trainers or whatnot, so he kept advancing till he was at the Dark Cave. The moment he went inside, it seemed like the entrance sealed itself. He wandered formlessly through the forest, until he heard a piercing shriek. He was so startled, he dropped his bag and all the chips he had in it. The pokemon was a Misdreavus.
<A Pokemon that startles people in the middle of the night. It gathers fear as its energy.>
"Is it a female or a male?"

I really didn't know. o...o;;

"Hmm... so that's what it is, is it."
I soon realized it was eating all my food.
"Hey! Stop eating my journey food!"
What the?! I didn't realize what I was doing, but I found out I was throwing a pokeball at it. I was meant to throw something that would've hurt it. The pokeball hit it and the pokemon went inside it.
"NOO!"
The pokeball shook and shook and shook and was actually starting to break out...-- I thought-- and had a instant change of heart.
"Please catch it..."-- but it then came to a rest with nothing around it, except me, and the cave around her.

I had caught my first Pokemon right then, in the expecting darkness around me...
I had done it.

Mora groaned, writhing tiredly on the ground. He began to stir, then felt a hand placed on his shoulder. <Shhhh.> The voice floated into his mind, but he could tell that it had not come through his ears. Mora’s brow furrowed. Thantos? Before he could receive a reply, he reached out in his mind, and felt Thantos’ mental connection. Mora was disturbed to detect a trace of fear in that link. Thantos? He could feel his nerves wring as more of the fear mingled with his own emotions.

<Mora, I don’t know what’s happened. I don’t know where we are. Open your eyes, but make sure you’re ready.> Now the panic was coming from Mora. What had happened to make Thantos so troubled? He took several deep breaths, then opened his eyes. Instantly, a wave of dread washed through him. Oh no…

The room, the hotel, the entire environment had gone. The lake, the fields, the Pokemon, all gone. The sky was clouded over, full of ash and smoke, obscuring the sun, and made it harder to breathe. The land around them was wasted, desolate and bare save the course grass. Smoke was rising from somewhere out of sight, and the din of gunfire could be heard in what was only just the distance. He lifted himself up on one arm, and looked at Thantos, who was kneeling besides him.What the hell happened? He felt his arm shake slightly, and felt the fear sharper than ever.

<I don’t know.> His voice was mourning. Mora shook his head slightly, then looked around, taking in his more immediate surroundings. They seemed to be on some sort of hill, covered in rough grass and nothing else. People and Pokemon lay strewn across the ground, some still unconscious and some already awake. Erebus and Res were nowhere in sight. He felt to his waist, and clenched his hand tightly around the Pokeballs there. Then Mora realised something, and he turned round to face Thantos again.

How did you get out of your Pokeball? Thantos looked slightly surprised, as though it was the last question he had expected Mora to ask. <I let myself out when I felt something was wrong.> Mora himself was somewhat surprised at that, but didn’t pres the matter. It would have been impossible to blame him. He looked round again at the people on the hill, then shakily walked over to a pair of slightly younger trainers talking, a red-haired boy and a dark-haired girl, a trio of Pokemon surrounding them. “Do either of you have any idea what’s happened?” Thantos half walked, half glided along behind him.

After I got it I was so happy!
"Woohoo!!!... alright!"

The next thing that bothered me was that while I was paying attention and screaming my heart out at my humorous Pokemon capture, little did I know that nearly millions of Zubats were surrounding me.
"Uh oh..."
Then after a moment of silence in the Dark Cave, I ran my legs out till I met the end of the Cave! Then more Zubats covered the exit. It was over for me I guess. I guess I never knew how hard it was to keep your adventure so smooth. I backed up till I hit a tree and slowly slip down the back of it. I reached for my pokeball.
"Misdreavus... you don't deserve to have a trainer like me..."
I sent it out.
"I'm sorry Misdreavus!"
I had tears in my eyes. In later stories I retell of this, I say some dust. I was about to smash the pokeball with my bare hand with tears streaming out of my eyes, when I heard something emit a loud shriek. It was Misdreavus except she was distorted to a huge Misdreavus with stretched out physical appearances. It was quite intimidating and shocking. The Pokedex spoke:
<Astonish, a ghost type move. It shocks the foe into flinching.>
I opened my wet eyes.
"Misdreavus..."
"Misdreavus! Misdreavus! Mis-drea-VUS!"
Misdreavus suddenly turned as big as a house and made a piercing sound throughout the whole forest. I could even see Taillows and Swellows fly in the air. Of course this made the Zubats scatter into the exit of the Dark Cave.

That was a moment I would remember my whole life.

Bring, bring! This sound interrupted my moment.
"Hello?"
Wassup Starr?"
Silver?"
Ya."
Oh. Fine. Guess what? I got my first Pokemon!"
What is it?"
Misdreavus."
"... *cough* wimp. *cough*"
"It's my first Pokemon though!... why'd you really call anyway?"
"Your mom wanted to see you or something."
"Sure, thanks."
"No prob, bro."
"You're not my brother. oO"
"Never mind."

Beep-- beep--.
After this catastrophic moment, I decided to go back home, since mom did call. It was mid-afternoon, like around 3:00 P.M. On the way I realized what Misdreavus was doing in the dark cave. I looked at Misdreavus's worn out face. It looked kind of peaceful anyway. Well anyways after that, we were back at Cherrygrove City. The while I was walking, I didn't even notice that a medium sized Pokemon Machine were stomping on the forest, with the word Team Rocket on it.

--------------------------------------

I came home with a smile today. I went through the door.
"I'm home with great news! ...
....
....
...mom? Dad?"
They were looking at the TV quietly and then slowly turned around to look at me. Their faces looked so cold... so sad...
My mom answered.
"They're here!"
"Who??"
"They're going to come!"
"Who's going to come??"
"..."
They said together.
"The Trainer Snatchers!"
"What's that?"
My dad responded this time.
"They are an evil organization. There are also three good nations, they stated on TV-- Goldain, Truest, and the Kilian. They each vow to protect all citizens joining their leadership. Us parents can't join of course. We'll just stay back..."
I pondered and thought maybe it would be good to do that...
"... and also you can't contact us, because they are very strict."
That broke my thoughts.
My mom answered and looked at my dad at the same time.
"It is for the best, Starr."
I couldn't let my parents stay while I was protected... I don't even know if I can trust them!
"I won't join them."
"Huh?"
My dad was confused yet somewhat angry. I talked through his emotions.
"I need to stay and protect this family. Who knows what can happen to you guys. We need to protect our generations....
... so send out your Pokemon."
I didn't know what I was saying since I never did see their Pokemon before. So they did have Pokemon.
My mom sent out her Politoad and her Cherrim, while my dad sent out his Ampharos and his Mightyena.
"You two protect this household... I guess. I'll try find what is going on."
My mom finally said:
"Starr... I forgot to say something...
there is also a variety of bad alliances... like Team Rocket, Magma, Aqua, and Galactic. They don't cooperate, but will do anything to harm citizens...
... so...
... be careful."
My dad said the final statement.
"Good luck son, and here."
He handed me a blue spiral looking pin.
"It is for good luck. It was passed down through the generations, all the way from my great great great-- well a lot of greats-- great grandmother. She was the grand festival champion and beat the Elite Four and Battle Brains of all the regions. I was her lucky charm. So hold it and go forth Starr."
I didn't know what to say.
"...
...
...
... thanks mom and dad. I will find what is going on and put an end to this war."
I left my house with a smile, the same one I had when I entered it.

Voices rang in Briona's ear making her streach and let out a loud yawn. It took her a while to realise she was laying in grass. She finally opened her eyes and realised she was on a hill, surrounded by many people. She jumped to her feet.
"Whoare you!? Where are we?!" Briona snaped. Her inner dark side was triggered by this unknown place. Her dark side had a way of masking her normal sweet side.

cookie_lovr April 15th, 2009 6:45 PM

I felt so good... I felt like I accomplished something!
I looked to see the sun (not literally at it, but near it), but I never saw happiness. I saw a big machine coming this way to Cherrygrove City! I ran toward it-- it took pretty long since the machine was big, making it visible from a far area-- and when I finally reached it, people were coming out from the top of it. This trio said something (I suppose it was their motto).

Prepare for trouble...
...And make it double

While they were wasting their time saying that dumb motto, I quickly saw what they were doing wrong. In the hand of this machine, there was a bag full of captured Pokeballs!

I remember while walking back to Cherrygrove after my first Pokemon capture, I thought I heard someone mumble something about their Pokemon stolen. I never thought they were meaning it literally!

To protect the world from devastation...
...to unite all peoples within our nation.

"I guess these Pokemon belong to the citizens of Cherrygrove..."

To denounce the evils of truth and love...
...To extend our reach to the stars above.

"I've got to return them!"

Jessie...
...James

While they were finishing up that lame song, I quickly sent out Misdreavus and told it to Astonish
the dumb trio of bad vocal cords.

Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light...
...surrender now or prepare to fight.

Midreavus was nearing them, and now was right behind them on a sneak attack.
"MISDREAVUSSSS!"
It grew huge and gave a piercing cry, scaring the Team Rocket out of their wits. They were so startled
they fell off the machine and into the second, empty claw of the machine. The machine, based on
sensors, quickly closed them in, leaving nothing but a bunch of murmurs and mumbles from the trapped
trio. I actually heard the last Meowth say:

MEOWTH, THAT'S RIGHT!

I just noticed they were Team Rocket from the Johto Journal! The article didn't show their faces that's why.
Well, Misdreavus got tired out from all of this so I suppose I could go to
Professor Elm's healing machine. I ran all the way down this Route anyway...

So I left the scene, with nothing but a machine in the middle of a Route, and
some bad singers in it.

The crowed cheered as Ryu entered the stadium.He had butterflys in his stomach but he was determined to beat his best friend and now rival to gain victory in Ceruleun citys annual tournement.He pulled a dusk ball from his belt and released his Toarkoal also known as Coaly.The crowed marveled as they saw that Coaly had a blue shell instead of a black one.His opponent Fred released his Haunter and the battle began.
Ryu commanded Coaly to use smokescreen and black smoke bellowed at Freds Haunter.Haunter launched a shadow punch knowing that it never misses.Ryu checked his poketech and saw that Coaly had only taken minor damage and told Coaly to use flamethrower and Haunter was completely covered in flames. One hit ko!Fred then released his Golem.Ryu knew this was his strongest pokemon because they had trained together for years.
Fred commanded Golem to use earthquake and Coaly was knocked out.Ryu pulled a red pokeball from his belt and the crowed cheered as they realised this was the fabled cherish ball.There was a flash as Hope,Ryu's Riolu,was released from the pokeball.Ryu told it to use bullet punch knowing it was super effective on rock types.Golem was almost down.Fred checked his poketech and seeing that golem was almost down commanded it to use selfdestruct.Both pokemon were out for the count.
Ryu took a black ultra ball and released his Poliwrath ,Poli,as Fred released his ryhorn.Ryu thought that the battle was over, but he was wrong.Fred commanded his Ryhorn to use thunderboltand it left Poli with only 7 HP,Ryu commanded Poli to use hypnosis and then surf they both connected almost fainting Ryhorn.Poliwrath finished up his combo with surf defeating Ryhorn.Fred cried No! and ran to his Ryhorn.
The battle had ended and Ryu was awarded with one of each of the elemental stones and one of ever type of pokeball except for masterballs and cherish balls.When he reached his hotel room and leapt into bed he fell asleep instantly.
When he woke up the next morning it was not his soft matress he was lying on but rough ground he thought that this must be a dream and pinched himself and he cried out in pain this was not a dream!

cookie_lovr April 16th, 2009 7:48 PM

My memories... do they show I am a true trainer meant to be the champion--?
...
No... I mustn't think of this that way... I must continue reading to find my true destiny...

Well... going on... I strive and strive till I reached Professor Elm's Laboratory. I wish he was Professor Oak though. I heard he was more advanced. I was suddenly in New Bark Town, after a long way of dodging tall grass. Sometimes the route just lead into the grass, so it was hard to maneuver, but I am here.

It was small, the smallest town I have ever been in-- of the Johto region-- of course.

I looked around to see if anything was going on. It was quite quiet. I slowly went to the small laboratory and slightly opened the door to see if anyone was inside. I saw Professor Elm on a chair with no lights except his dim lamp on the nearby research table. I broke this silence.

"Umm... Professor Elm? Is that you?"
He began to stutter which made his voice all shaky.
"Uh-h. Ye-es, it's me-e... Umm... are yo-ou new to New Bark To-own?"
"... yes."
"Sorry, but we don't have any starter Pokemon now..."
Now I really wanted Professor Oak as my Pokemon professor.
"Why?"
"A red haired ki-id took o-one... and... a mischi-ievous gang of thre-ee took the other two..."
Could it be? I began my next question anxiously.
"Did they have a talking Meowth with them?"
"Ye-es... you know of them?"
"Yeah... I think the starter Pokemon are in Cherrygrove because I saw them and defeated them with my own starter Pokemon-- Misdreavus. I sent her out."
"Misdreavus!"
Misdreavus nuzzled my shoulder.
"I met this one in the Dark Cave... I wonder why though?"
"I know o-one thing... becau-use so-o much bad things are happe-ening, Poke-emon are fleeing from their normal habita-ats, because no-ormally you'd find Misdreavus in... umm..."
This showed signs of thinking.
"... you wo-ould find normal Misdreavu-us in the Silver Ca-ave."
"I see."
"How di-id you ca-atch Misdreavus, anywa-ay?"
Seriously?
"Long story... umm... you want me to pick up the starter Pokemon?"
"You don't have to-o... you did enough to help me, thanks. I will ju-ust get an assistant to do it for me."
This showed signs of disappearing sadness.
"Well umm... before I go, can I register your number on my PokeGear?"
"Sure."
After he registered, I said bye and waved my last wave for tonight. It was dawn.

My memories... were they really like this?... the Silver Cave... the Dark Cave... Professor Elm... the past... and me, in the present.

-AYE! What the heck’re ya’ doin’, runnin’ around and slammin’ inta people like dat?!-

Though most would understand it as a mixed-up series of syllables from the word ‘Lopunny’, Jasper’s voice was clearly filled with fury. His sudden outburst was loud enough to interrupt Sera’s question and have her whirl around to see what was amiss. The sight of Jasper standing above a kid whose head was pressed against a rock was, admittedly, pretty amusing to her. Her Pokémon’s yelling was also pretty funny, considering just moments ago he’d been complaining about that Raichu…

“Heheh. Sorry ‘bout that,” she said to the boy, grinning, “That’s just Jaspy. He’s always angry ‘bout somethin’; it’s alright.”

-Couldda knocked me offa da side o’ dis hill, stupid kid an’ his stupid watch…- Jasper grumbled.

"Poor Jasper..." Sera whispered quietly to her Pokemon in a playfully mocking tone, "You're like a damsel in distress, waking up here and getting shoved around."

Before Jasper could even consider yelling again (or taking a more violent means of action, for that matter), an tall boy with a Gardevoir walked over. Judging by his height and his probably-well-trained Pokemon, Sera assumed he was at least a year or so older than she was. “Do either of you have any idea what’s happened?” he asked, looking pretty nervous.

“No,” she responded with a glance at all the others who'd randomly found themselves in this strange place. They all were either unconscious or utterly confused, judging by the looks of them. “And I dun think anyone else’s got much of a clue either…” Sera added.

(OOC: Alright, cookie, if you promise you'll enter the world on your next post, you may begin with the "real" posts.)

Iyo looked around, his eyes wide. He walked over to the bluff, and saw the devastation below.

He turned and met Matsui's eyes, then saw the tears on Maia's face.

Then he started laughing.

"All right, you got me guys. Joke's over, okay?"

Matsui felt a sudden surge of anger.

Joke?! He thinks this is all some sort of prank?!

Iyo began lifting rocks and looking under things.

"Alright, where's the camera? Heh heh, come on guys, you think I was raised-"

Matsui grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and gave him a violent shock. It would've knocked anyone else out instantly, but Iyo just let out a sharp cry of pain and surprise.

<You idiot! This isn't a joke! This isn't a game! Something very serious happened, IS happening, don't you get it?!>

Iyo's eyes went wide with panic. "I-what? Matsui, I can't...understand you..."

Matsui dropped him, and let out a long sigh. He turned and saw the other pokemon and some of the humans waking up. He turned to Maia, and saw she was crying again.

<Get ahold of yourself, will you?! We need to get everyone together, and see if anyone knows what happened.>

<R-Right...>

She collected herself, and shouted to the other pokemon around.

<Listen! Do any of you have any idea where we are, or how we got here?>

"what's a girl to do?" Briona asked herself. She decided to just stay til she could find someone to travel with.

Amaranthine April 20th, 2009 12:25 PM

I've talked to Epilogue, and I've posted this because I'm in a rush. I'll delete it tommorrow if it's unsatisfactory.

NAME: Adam Conrad Amaranthine
AGE: 12
GENDER: Male
JOB/ROLE: Adam is training to be a doctor
PERSONALITY: Adam is kind and gentle, and he cares a lot for his companions, but is very protective and he hates people who mistreat their pokemon. He is generally cheerful, but he always makes sure he's calm and collected, and is very intelligent. He can be incredibly devious, but usually is honest, and his charm is often used to either end of the spectrum. He is quite trusting, but if you upset him he'll have a grudge on you forever. He believes that his pokemon and friends must come first, but he doesn't believe that peace should come anywhere until the facts have been explained, and if he feels like it is true, He will fight for the side he believes to be right.
APPEARANCE: Adam has spiky dark brown hair. He has freckles all over his face, and hazel eyes. His skin is actually quite pale, but this is probably hereditary. He wears a brown jacket over a creamy shirt, and wears a yellow belt. He wears blue jeans and shiny black shoes.
He'll wear a yellow scarf and black gloves if it is cold.
BACKGROUND: Adam was born with his mother incredibly ill and being cared for by a Kangaskhan, and his father was trying to help. His mother died shortly after, and his father took Adam home, and the Kangaskhan felt a duty to help raise him. He was always very intelligent and fast, and grew up in close contact with nature. He could run away from danger holding a small load, and that had to happen quite a lot. The Kangaskhan which was his childhood friend always came with him, it's mother worrying endlessly. But the Kangaskhan grew into a strong and caring specimen, but protective of Adam. His father and pokemon had to flee from his home when it was attacked by terrorists, and he has lived with a zealous mind, but a diplomatic nature. He once met a Jirachi, which made his wish of Healing come true, and he is now an excellent healer because of his wish.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Adam is strange, he can tame wild creatures with a pleading look from his eyes, and he is an excellent healer. Jirachi's wish let's him heal pokemon quickly as he can feel their pain and suffering and determines to end it.

POKEMON: Kangaskhan
NICKNAME: Teresa
SPECIES: Kangaskhan
AGE: 15
GENDER: Female
MOVES: Comet Punch, Mega Punch, Rage, outrage
APPEARANCE: it looks like a normal Kangaskhan, and is developing a baby inside it's pouch, but it is not old enough to come out yet.
PERSONALITY: Teresa is similar to Adam, although slightly less docile and a bit more aggressive to those who threaten anyone who she cares about. She only trusts Adam indefinitely, but trusts Adams friends.
BACKGROUND: This Kangaskhan is the baby of the Kangaskhan who helped raise Adam, and has become inseperable with Adam, who she sees as a son.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Teresa can use herbs to heal pokemon and people, and, if enraged, she may go into a berserk state.

Adam woke up cradled in the arms of his kngaskhan, Teresa. 'Teresa... What? Why are you here? Wha...' Adam looked around and saw an orange landscape, barren and devoid. 'Teresa, where are we?' Teresa put Adam down and started pointing. a small group of people were in he distance, silhouetted against the blowing dust. 'OK. let's go and check this place out...' Adam walked over to the group of people, but they had no pokemon. They turned, and shouted. They ran towards Adam, armed with guns and other despicable contraptions. 'Teresa! RUN!' Adam ran as fast as he could, which was considerably fast, with Teresa right behing. but a Truck came up behind him, and a net dropped on Teresa. 'NOO! TERESA!' Adam lunged at one of the men, knocking him over, and started pulling the net off of his Pokemon. but with guns pointed at him, he stood up, arms raised, and turned around. 'Who are you people? what do you want?' You have been taken prisoner by the glorius Killain Empire! You will march with your pet or die.' Adam followed the soldiers, but heard a strange noise. 'I-what? Matsui, I can't... understand you...' Adam and Teresa bolted, knocking the soldiers into dissarray and fighting among themselves. Adam ran towards the noise, and saw a group of people, one holding another by the collar of the kneck. They turned to look at him, shocked.

Memories...

After all this hubbub..., I decided to go out and finally start my delayed adventure. After wandering through Cherrygrove, I saw a group of men dressed in shiny yellow clothes. The turned around to me and pointed at me with a gun. They smiled and said something I would listen to.
"Don't move."

Ninetales1 April 27th, 2009 3:39 PM

Yamiko stared blankly at Iyo for a while. Since most of the others were gravitating towards him, she thought he knew about this place. However, the fiasco with the Raichu and the Eevee, especially the part where he thought his Pokemon played a prank on him, proved her wrong. Also, in the meantime, two tall boys had joined in the crowd, both of them apparently clueless as well. One of them had a Gardevoir with him, who Yamiko kept eyeing. Gardevoir was one of her favourite Pokemon, after all. But for some reason she was never able to find a Ralts while on her Pokemon journey (probably bad luck due to the curse, she figured). Still, having a different Psychic-type Pokemon wasn't all bad...

Then the girl from before muttered something about everyone else not having much of a clue where they were either. Yamiko, thinking the situation rather silly, and not liking it when there were several confused people and Pokemon in an area, decided to speak up.

"I don't really think any of us know where we are," Yamiko stated for everyone nearby to hear. "We don't even know what kind of a place this is. But, we can conclude one thing: this isn't a dream. Otherwise, I'd be the only confused one here--not to mention it's highly unlikely for so many people--and Pokemon--to have the same dream, and knowing my luck, it's nigh impossible."

"At any rate," Lupin added, trying to sound loud enough for everyone close by to hear (without succeeding much), "it's pointless to just stay here. There's nothing to see, save the remnants of some sort of war battle, and nothing much to do, unless you're interested in collecting some empty machine guns. The wise thing to do would be to explore a bit, and see what else we can learn about this place."
By that time, a large cloud of ash had flown in front of the sun, giving the place a more hazy appearance. Lupin pocketed the umbrella he was holding.

"Well, what do you all think?" Yamiko asked the group. "We certainly don't know what's on the other side of that hill, for instance. And, if there's a town there, provided it's safe enough, we can ask someone there where we are. It's kind of pointless asking each other, that's for sure, since none of us know that answer."

A pause.

"...I know we are in a strange place and are all confused," Yamiko continued, "but I suppose it's wise to focus not on how weird the surroundings are, but on what to do--maybe how to return to the other world, so to speak."

"She has a point," Lupin mentioned. "Anyone with a bit of common sense would remain calm and alert in this type of situation, since this is an unfamiliar yet still survivable place. Keep in mind we haven't been shot at."
He added a bit of levity to that last remark, but then turned serious and a bit cold yet again.
"Well, unless anyone agrees with us, I think Yamiko and I will be on our way."
With that, he took Yamiko by the hand, and the two of them turned around and walked towards the top of the hill. Artemis, who had been repeating what Yamiko and Lupin just said to the Pokemon who couldn't hear them, soon stood up and trotted after them, followed by Velvet, then Rigel. Laverne decided to float up and get a better view of the surroundings.

<"So what do you make of this?"> Rigel asked Velvet in a string of soft barks, gazing down at the little Espeon.
<"I'm not sure what to make of it,"> she replied. <"Yamiko's seeming unusually level-headed in this, but given the kind of stuff that normally runs through her mind, I don't think I'd blame her.">
<"When you're under a curse, I guess things can't be worse,"> Rigel mentioned.
<"Rigel, quit trying to be funny,"> Artemis snapped, growling a bit as she spoke. <"I think both Lupin and I are upset by being suddenly thrust into daylight, so expect at least me to have little patience for petty things.">

After a while, Laverne floated back down to the hill, shouting excitedly at all the Pokemon there.
<"Check out what's past this hill! You're gonna be pleased!"> She mused the last part of the announcement in a sing-songy tone of voice.

(REVIVED)

It took a couple of seconds before Spark got back up on his feet. A rather large bump has unplesantly spourted on the back of his head. Spark gently rubbed the bump, twitching a bit from reaction. "O-ow.. Dang it..!" Spark eventually took notice of everyone around him. "W-w-wait a minute! Dude! Who the heck are you guys?" Spark stood up straight, rubbing his arm rapidly. "Well.. It's not like it matters! But, eh.."

On the ground nearby A silver item reflected off a little mysterious light.. Spark immediately recognized the item, and without hesitation, quickly snatched the item off from the dirty ground. "Ah ha! There it is!" Spark quickly slipped on a silver watch (covered in dirt from the ground) and swung his right arm out wide - almost as if he's trying to show off the watch to everyone (needless to say, no one even noticed). "Yeah! I got it back! Haha! There's no way I could lose this!" Spark is yelling out loud again.. Though, at least it's because he's happy. Spark seemed to have become oblivious once more, being completely unaware of everyone and everything around him. Of course, a little jab or two on his shoulder should bring him back to reality...

Ninetales1 May 19th, 2009 9:13 PM

Yamiko and Lupin strode up the hill rather effortlessly, unphased by the slopes, sure in their footing, quiet in their steps. Rigel occasionally slipped backward on dirt-lined slopes because of his weight, but soon enough he was able to figure out that digging his dull, stout claws into the dirt helped with that--they were like cleats. Velvet and Artemis bounced along beside him, and Laverne floated behind the trainer couple, grinning. But the group didn't get too far before a shout issued from the group at the bottom of the hill. Apparently, the boy who had lost his watch found it, and was rejoicing.
See? I didn't steal it, Lupin said to himself.

"Hold on a moment," Lupin said aloud, a thought having just occurred to him. Yamiko and the Pokemon stopped to listen, while he took out his mobile. "Let me try calling Halberd. If there's no signal, that means we're in a very foreign and/or desolate world. If there is a signal, we can tell him where we are, and he can use his tracking device to pinpoint our location--or at least the region in which we're located."
Yamiko nodded, thinking this a good idea. But at the last moment, just as Lupin was about to press the call button, she interrupted.
"Wait a minute. There are some bombs that go off when triggered by a remote electrical signal, such as a cell phone going off."
"Such bombs would only be placed in places of cilivisation," Lupin remarked, pressing the call button. Nothing happened, though Yamiko did hold her breath for a while.

"Who dares call me from a number not in my inventory?" an exasperated-sounding voice answered.
Lupin's brow furrowed. Who is this? This definitely isn't Halberd...
"I call because I am potentially interested in your services," he finally replied, playing along with the motives of the guy on the other end of the line.

Yamiko raised an eyebrow. What in the world is Lupin talking about? He sounds like he's talking to a stranger...
While she was thinking that, Lupin raised a finger, signaling her to wait, to be quiet. Yamiko knew this meant business... of some sort.

"Indeed you have some nerve," the man on the other end of the line commented. Apparently Lupin had put his mobile on speaker mode so that Yamiko could hear. "We Vigilants are a group feared by the general public. Are you perhaps a traveling soldier with time on his hands?"
"Yes, in fact," Lupin replied. A peculiar smile played across his face, but his voice remained unchanged. Yamiko knew that he was fabricating a lie, but whoever was on the phone probably couldn't tell. "Nowadays the army doesn't pay too much attention to me, mainly because they think I'm too quote-in-quote 'individual' for their likes. I hesitate to disobey the monotonous orders of the generals, which involve attacking random cities and marching in specified patterns and operating noisy machinery with a team. I like to be the sole operator who heeds the advice of venerable leaders and acts in secret."
"Hm. What is your name?"
"Clyde Barrendale. I have served in the army for only six months, but before that I did bounty work, hunting down war criminals and turning them in for rewards. I believe that enemies within are more dangerous than enemies without, if you follow my meaning."
"Where do you live?"
"I wander around, though it is not hard for me to return home--or at least this city which I could sort of call home."
"Hmmm." There was a pause. "I like characters like you, from what you are telling me. However, I cannot fully trust you until I meet you in person. I warn you though--should you fail to live up to my standards, I shall execute you at once. If you still persist, meet me in Warehouse 43A, in the southwest corner of this city."
"I have wandered around the area for quite some time, so the city of which you are speaking slips my mind. I have not heard of the location of your office."
"That's because it's secret, silly. I know not where you are calling from, but our meeting city is Headport. Surely you recall it as an industrial hub, surrounded by factories and warehouses--like 43A."
"I'll be there. But before we part our conversation, I would like a heads-up on some of the details of the position."
"As we are called the Vigilants, we are vigilantes, ever in pursuit of those who oppose the army. You need to be of good judgment, so that you can sort out the rebels from the soldiers. Your experience as a soldier gives me a tiny bit of hope--but again, that shall be proven. You need skill in weaponry, or at the very least it is highly recommended. You will be given assignments--someone to hunt, something to watch over. I will assess your individual skills in the interview, so to speak."
"Is tomorrow morning at 10 a good time?"
"You got it."
With that Lupin hung up.

Yamiko stared a while in bewilderment. "Niiiice. He really did seem fooled. But I hope you're not actually going to that interview."
"Of course not," Lupin affirmed, starting up the hill again and putting his mobile away. "But, now we have some information."
"But what about that call? Apparently, we are in a different world, and someone in this world has a phone number identical to Halberd's. That's a highly unlikely coincidence."

The two pondered this as they continued up the hill. But once they reached the top, a new sight overwhelmed their previous thoughts. There was a small town amidst a bunch of other hills, which were even browner and drier than this one was. A bunch of the houses were dilapidated, but a few remained standing. One or two fires blazed in a remote corner of town, and there were several dead and fallen trees. Yamiko and Lupin caught the faint glimpse of dead people lying near some of the houses. However, the occasional speck of a person moved about, and there appeared to be a downtown that was left undamaged.

Artemis was the first to descend into the town, being the scout in these kinds of situations. She bounded towards the houses, and headed down a street and disappeared. Yamiko and Lupin and the other Pokemon followed slowly and cautiously behind. But they were two thirds of the way down the hill when they heard gunshots coming from the town, soon followed by the pained howl of a Mightyena.
"Artemis!" Lupin realised, thereupon sprinting down the hill, towards the source of the gunshots. Soon enough another howl came, a bit softer and sadder this time. Yamiko immediately ran after him, but she tripped on a loose rock on the hillside.
"Fi!"
Before Yamiko could fall forward onto the ground, Velvet held her under telekinetic control, breaking her fall. She used that same force to lift her off the slope and land her near the bottom of the hill, where the land was more level. Soon Lupin reached that landing spot, and so he and Yamiko continued into the town. They passed between two houses whose roofs looked like they had fallen in, turned right on a street, and soon enough they came to a small crowd of people, two of which were holding guns. A small lump lay on the floor before them. Occasionally it barked and whined. As Yamiko and Lupin caught closer, they caught glimpses of what the people were saying.
"What's a wolf doing in these parts anyway?" said one man, a police officer by the looks of it.
"It's a strange-looking wolf, that's for sure," one woman commented. "Never saw anything like it in these parts. And since when did wolves have red noses?"
"I hope it didn't eat any of my sheep!" shouted one of the armed men. He wore a straw hat and held a rifle--probably a farmer.
As Yamiko listened in, Lupin pulled her off to the side, into a space in between two empty buildings. Moments later, the two guns glowed with a blue aura, and then they floated out of their bearers' hands, flew some hundred feet away from the crowd, and landed with a clatter on the ground. Velvet appeared, standing beside Artemis.
"Fi! Fi! Fiiii fi fi!" she protested, shouting at the crowd. There was a threatening glint in the orb on her forehead.

People gasped, taken aback.
"What in tarnation is THAT thing?" one woman blurted.
"Must be the result of a Goldainian science experiment gone wrong," a boy commented.
"My gosh, it has a Y-shaped tail and purple fur--and an orb on its head!" another man shouted. "It must be a monster of some sort!"
"Or an evil demon!" the boy from before guessed. "With evil powers!"

Yamiko and Lupin looked at each other in alarm.
"They act as if they have never seen a Pokemon before!" Yamiko exclaimed in a whisper.
"Maybe they haven't," Lupin guessed. "Maybe this is a world where Pokemon don't normally exist. That farmer probably mistook Artemis for an ordinary wolf."
Before doing anything else, the two returned Artemis and Velvet to their Pokeballs. Then they ran along the gap in between the buildings, vanishing from sight of the crowd.

When they exited the town again, it wasn't too long before Rigel and Laverne spotted them. Rigel jogged up to them, asking what was wrong.
"They shot at Artemis," Lupin recalled, slightly out of breath. "I don't think this town is safe for Pokemon."
"I don't even think they ever heard of Pokemon," Yamiko added. "I think we should hide and see what we can do about Artemis."

Yamiko and Lupin went back to the side of the hill, then released Velvet and Artemis again. By then they could see a bullet wound just behind the Mightyena's shoulder. Little whimpers of pain issued from Artemis's nose, and her body trembled a bit. To comfort her, Yamiko petted her on the head, scratching behind her soft, furry ears.
"You all right?" Yamiko asked her, a tear falling onto the ground beside Artemis's head. "Please hang in there..."
Rigel placed a large paw on Artemis's side, rubbing her in a gentle fashion.
<"There there valiant majesty,"> he reassured her, <"don't let such a wound sway you.">

Meanwhile, Laverne managed to extract the bullet telekinetically; Rigel turned away from this procedure in disgust. Velvet examined the wound closely.
"Fiiiii..."
She looked up to the sky and glowed with a faint orange aura. For a moment the ash in the skies stirred, but soon afterward a narrow yet bright ray of sunlight shone on Velvet. Then it reflected off of Velvet's orb and shone on Artemis's wound.
"The Morning Sun technique," Yamiko explained to Artemis. "Hopefully that will make you feel better."

"Oi, Rigel!" Lupin called all of a sudden, turning around to see the giant dog running back up the hill. "Where are you going?"
Rigel barked, then motioned with his head to a point over the hill--where the other newcomers were. Lupin nodded in agreement.
Good thinking, Rigel, he thought. You concern yourself more with the safety of strangers than I do. I concern myself more with the safety of those who... resonate with me, in some way. At this point he shot a brief glance at Yamiko.

<"Attention everyone!"> Rigel boomed, standing on the slope of the hill and announcing for all the Pokemon there to hear. <"Be careful in this world! Apparently Pokemon are foreign to this world! The people here know nothing about of us! One of them has shot at one of us, even!">

((OOC: Yes! It lives! x3;))

Sera remained mostly silent as these events passed, partly because she was pondering how to respond and partly because she had occupied herself with glancing around the area, trying to get a better idea of her surroundings. Of course, all she got out of this was more gray… Gray skies, gray ground, the empty gray field below them… All in all, it was a depressing setting to be stuck in.

Jasper, on the other hand, was paying close attention to the others (namely the kid with the watch) and mumbling coldly at them under his breath. -So ya’ found yerr stupid watch. Whoop-de-doo. Oi… Oughtta knock some sense inta’ ya’ ‘fore ya’ hurt somebody…-

Suddenly, a booming, loud series of barks could be heard from the top of the nearby hill. Sera and Jasper both looked up. The source of the sound was a huge Arcanine, who was apparently trying to tell the other Pokémon something. Sera, of course, understood his words as well as any Pokémon would be able to. The good news was: There were other people here, in this strange new setting. The bad news: They didn’t take kindly to Pokémon. It didn’t really surprise Sera when she thought about it; if she’d never seen a Pokémon before then a fire-breathing Charizard or a giant metal Steelix or something would definitely scare the heck out of her. She figured she might be safe with Jasper and Earnest, as neither of them were very frightening in appearance… But Theo the Bastiodon could even terrify inhabitants of her own world, despite his affectionate personality.

-Great. We’re screwed, aren’t we?- Jasper grumbled, his tone thick with pessimism.

“Not necessarily,” his trainer responded. “We oughtta get everyone together. If none of us know nothin’ ‘bout this place, but we’re all from the same place, we’d get a lot further workin’ together as a group.”

-Blegh,- was the Lopunny’s only reply.

Sera ignored him, instead deciding to start getting people to cooperate by jabbing her elbow into the silver-watch-kid’s side.

“’Aye. Yeah, I’m talkin’ to ya’. And now ain't the time to be celebratin' over some dumb watch. We all need to be findin' out more about this place, so you and anyone else ya' can bring oughtta come on over to where those two with the Arcanine are."

Sera figured they'd learned more about the situation than anyone else, and without waiting to see watch-boy's reaction she hurried off to join them. Jasper followed, albeit with an irate expression on his face.

Spark twitched, quickly coming back to reality. He looked around in curiosity, in confusion.

"H-huh?" Spark chased after the girl hastedly, feeling a little insulted over the watch. "Hey, hey! It's not just a dumb watch!" He showed off the watch to the girl rather arrogantly and impulsively, although it's safe to say that she, nor anyone else for that matter, would give the slightest bit of care about Spark's watch.

"You see.. This watch gives me special powers!" It seemed like he was going to give a very long explanation about the watch, much to everyone's dismay. "I can practically do anything with this watch!" A very obvious exaggeration. Eager to show off, Spark took a step back and stretched out his right arm.

"Here, I'll show you..!" He swiped two fingers from his left hand across the watch - both his arms swung out wide open. The watch began to spark out a vivid light in which clashed against the dead landscape around everyone. "Yeah!! Here it goes!!" For a brief moment, nothing happened, much to Spark's dismay. "... H-huh? Hey, wait a minute." Spark examined the watch curiously. "Nothing's happening--?" Suddenly, a jolt of electricity shot out from the watch and fiercely strucked Spark, electrocuting him rather painfully. Luckily, there wasn't a dangerous amount of voltage to actually kill Spark. After nearly turning charcoal from the rather unplesant electrocution, Spark collasped to the ground before letting out a single "Ow".

Meanwhile, a wandering soul weakly ventured foward into the small settlement that just previously visited by the group who went up the hill. Wearing a brown dirty cloak that have been flooded with holes and rips, with a few dark red stains that's most likely spilt blood. The wanderer heard vague rough barks, which he paid no attention to as he made his way through the settlement. He past by a few settlers, limping along the way. Though the wanderer possessed a humanoid body structure, the settlers knew that this clearly wasn't a human that was passing by so silently throughout the town.

Shadow Umbreon Xd 002 May 24th, 2009 10:53 AM

''O.M.G''What just happened?''Ryu wondered as he saw the man with whe watch electrocute himself after touching his watch.

He walked up to the man.He had turned as black as charcoal.
''Are you OK?''Ryu asked.
However, before the man had time to answer Ryu heard the sound of machieguns fireing!He looked up and saw two warplanes shooting at them.
''Duck!''Ryu yelled as he leapt into a bush.

as it stands, the RP is rough and rocky, BUT. I'm going to RESTART THE RP. Unfortunately, this does mean you will need to RE-SIGN UP, HOWEVER, to help with certain issues, I will be a bit more strict on the SU's, but will offer ASSISTANCE WITH SU's if needed.
As of now, IC-RPing IS ONCE AGAIN CLOSED. Please re-post your SU, and I'll get this thing back on track.

I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

NAME: Mackenzie
AGE: 21
GENDER: Male
JOB/ROLE: Traveling Magician
PERSONALITY: Somewhat eccentric. Mackenzie loves things with a dramatic flare, and sometimes speaks as if in a play, if he gets really into the moment. He is strong-willed, hard to break down, and never EVER loses his smile - unless for a performance. He is mannerly and chivalrous, due to his poetic, theatrical nature. Sometimes quotes Shakespeare.

APPEARANCE: White skinned with blonde hair and blue eyes (I know, real original, eh?). Has a thin build and is of average height. Black toque and jacket, black pants, black shoes, black sunglasses, black everything. Can sometimes be seen with a classic magician's wand during a performance.

BACKGROUND: Grew up in the Orre region. At the age of 16 he left his home and traversed the region to Mt. Battle. There he trained his Ralts against the lower level trainers, and slowly worked up. Through this Mackenzie met a fellow trainer, a man named Orlando. Orlando preformed magic outside of the building sometimes, and Mackenzie finally worked up the nerve to ask if he could learn the art. Orlando smiled and told him that they would meet again further down the road, when Mackenzie was ready to learn. His Xatu had told him so.

After training the Ralts into a Kirlia Mackenzie bought a boat ticket to Sinnoh, where he planned to obtain a Dawn Stone. After some searching he found one and trained his Kirlia to the highest point of power before evolution into a Gardevoir, then used the stone. He thought that Gallade needed a more fitting name, so he was since then known as Syterion. In Solocean Town Mackenzie met Orlando again, as predicted, and was taught the art and enigma of magic, actually a carefully refined form of psychic skill. Being as having a psychic pokemon can result in gaining some psychic skill over time, Orlando explained that Mackenzie had not been ready at Mt. Battle, and had needed to spend more time with Syterion.

'True Magic' as Orlando called it was so refined that most psychics chose not to pursue it, as it would take away from the ability to learn other forms of psychic skill. It had to do with psychically manipulating the particles of matter and energy themselves, allowing the defying of gravity, and the ability to turn water into a non-frozen solid. This could only grow stronger through years of training, and he said that eventually they would meet again when Mackenzie was ready to reach the next level.

After traveling all of Sinnoh Mackenzie sailed to Hoenn, where soon after landing he saw a rambunctious Lotad chasing people as if a joke. He battled and caught the pokemon, naming it Jolini. Mackenzie traveled north through Hoenn, and while in a sooty valley of volcanic dust Jolini evolved into a Lombre, after a battle against a wild Spinda. Jolini soon found that he had a talent for drums, likely due to his next evolution step's tendency to play the drums. He then played the drums during Mackenzie's performances, and sometimes joined in the skits.

Mackenzie, while traveling Kanto, Orlando was in Johto looking for Lugia Mackenzie followed in suit, hoping to learn more from his teacher. He was resting at Mahogany Town, as he was told his teacher was nearby, performing at lake rage. Mackenzie was disappointed to find Orlando had moved on by then. As he slept that night he was whisked away to this world.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Magic tricks, good acting (can be used to fool people), walks lightly, so can sneak up on people. When asked how he came to learn one of his magic tricks he laughs and says simply: "What trick? This is no trick, my friend, this is magic. And only a true magician can teach it's enigmas." Nobody is sure whether this is true or not, but some tricks are quite inexplicable. A few defy the laws of physics on several levels. Once he turned a glass of water upside down, and it didn't fall out, then he then he stuck a straw in the hole in the bottom of the glass - now on top, blowing bubbles to the bottom where they left the cup and floated away on the wind. He claimed that "Gravity is on my side today, I suppose." He assures everyone he meets that Orlando is far more skilled, and compared to his teacher's magic his is only on par with cheap parlor tricks.

POKEMON:
Spoiler:
NICKNAME: Syterion
SPECIES: Gallade
GENDER: Male
MOVES: Protect, Psycho Cut, Double Team, X-Scissor
PERSONALITY: Shares his trainer's passion for drama. Syterion is peaceful and prefers not to fight, but has learned the moves to do so for use in performances.
BACKGROUND: He was given to Mackenzie by his father when Mackenzie was only five. After traveling with Mackenzie for years the two are as close as blood brothers.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Fairly competent at telepathy, allowing him to speak to humans through the channeling of emotions, feelings, and such. He can speak to Mackenzie in words, albeit simple ones.

NICKNAME: Jolini
SPECIES: Lombre
GENDER: Male
MOVES: Drain Punch, Rain Dance, Water Gun, Agility
PERSONALITY: Energetic to the point of hyper. Jolini never stands still, except when sleeping. Mischievous in the way that he enjoys scaring shy or nervous people by sneaking up behind them. Impatient and gets rude and pushy if he is bored and wants to move on.
BACKGROUND: He was caught approximately twelve minutes after Mackenzie and Syterion arrived in Hoenn, as a Lotad. He traveled with his trainer and Syterion through Hoenn, Kanto, and most of Johto.
SPECIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: Can pick simpler locks with his nails, though more complex ones can take several hours, if they are possible at all. As he is impatient he can get frustrated and break either his nail or the lock.

I'm guessing that even though it's new I should still re-post this. If not then I guess we just delete it. Anyhow, this looks like a great RP idea, and I hope my character is accepted. I edited and made it a bit better. I work best with questions asked, so please ask me to explain anything if you want more detail. I'm kind of impatient myself, so I posted before refining it some.

Clark May 24th, 2009 1:11 PM

Why exactly is the RP being "re-started"...? We lost a few members, sure, but aside from that we were really just about to get somewhere with the plot, weren't we? It seems kind of odd to just re-start everything now, especially considering how easy it would be to just get a few more members and continue from this point. Everyone's basically going to end up making identical (if not extremely similar) posts of their characters waking up and such again, and really not much beyond that has happened so far. Just seems a bit odd to me.

Anyways, my SU... Again.

--

[Nickname:] Theo (Short for “Theodore”)
[Species:] Bastiodon
[Age:] Technically, he’s about 5,000 or so… ^_^;
[Gender:] Male

Last question: Can you have Pokemon and be armed to the teeth yourself?

dream's-epilogue May 25th, 2009 12:28 PM

Depends on what you mean. Go ahead and post your SU if you want, and I'll help.

jackblaze May 25th, 2009 12:31 PM

since you are on can you tell me how is my su?

dream's-epilogue May 25th, 2009 12:45 PM

Your SU is...okay. I'm guessing this is your first RP; your grammar and spelling are a little rocky, but that'll improve with time.

Your background is a bit brief. Can you try to include what he was doing right before the RP?

Appearance is a bit small, but it gives enough.

Personality is alright. If you can, try to spice it up a bit; develop the character a little. What would he do in a given situation? How might he react to things like real war, or the death of someone close? What if he were required to kill someone? Or if someone he cared about was in danger? Just think of scenarios like this to help flesh him out a bit.

Include a bit more detail in Background and Personality if you can, and you're in.

dream's-epilogue May 25th, 2009 1:19 PM

@ jackblaze: Good enough. Accepted. Hold off on IC posts for now, until I get everything sorted out, okay?

@ Shady: kinda rough. This is also your first RP I assume? It's not bad, per se, but it could be deeper.

Personality seems a bit thin. Take a look at some of the other SU's to get some ideas of stuff to add. Basically, anything you can think of, add it. Different situations, and the like. War, death, love, anger, annoyance...that sort of thing.

Appearance is alright.

Background is pretty thin, but this IS a first-timer RP, so it'll work for now. But, can you include what he was doing right before the RP?

Also, your grammar and spelling are a bit rocky. That'll improve with time, but if you have IE, check out IEspell. It'll really help you out in the long run.

Just read my advice and do what you can, and I'll give you a verdict.

Nano5002 May 25th, 2009 2:16 PM

Hello, may I ask if anything should be fixed on my character's sign up profile? I do my best work when questioned, I've discovered. It makes me think, since I'm usually quite impetuous. And I'm probably getting pretty annoying, sorry...... anyway, that's about all I have to say at the moment.

dream's-epilogue May 25th, 2009 3:13 PM

@nano: It's pretty good. If you're determined, I'll study it more carefully later and try to find things for you to improve.

Mackenzie yawned and groaned as he sat up. His back was sore, and he saw the reason when he looked around. He lay in a pile of rubble that looked as if it was once a store. Mackenzie had trouble processing the fact that he was not where he had gone to sleep. It couldn't have been a dream, every little detail was far too real.

Mackenzie stood and looked around again. He pinched him self and felt his nerves scream into his brain in protest. Not a dream, most certainly not a dream. He stepped carefully through the rubble to the remnants of a staircase, nearly tripping over a chunk of ceiling. The gray stone made the scene feel empty and lonely, as if the life and color had been sucked from the place.

Upon reaching the stairs Mackenzie stepped up them and over the holes and crevices in the stone that would send him falling to the floor, likely breaking bones. He stepped onto the second floor, where one wall was blown out. He walked to it and looked out to the ruined town.

jackblaze June 1st, 2009 5:10 PM

Jack woke up in a state of shock and confusion, his mind was in a haze. He just could not believe that this place he was is the same forest he fell asleep last night. He stood up and then quickly snatched at his belt to check if everyone was their and to his relieve, they were. Jack heard loud sounds coming from the area around him and felt it best to get to a safer place.

Slowly but surely Jack was moving around the war ridden area of what seamed to be the scene of a great battle. Jack was confused and just had to sit down one more time. The sounds still banging in his ears he did not even notice his wound until now. Reaching for his bag and taking out some gauze to wrap around what seemed to be a broken arm.

Then suddenly a large BOOM sound happened right beside Jack and he set off for a run, thinking to himself that he may just die.

Nano5002 June 1st, 2009 7:12 PM

Mackenzie saw a man with the apparel of a soldier walking below and ducked out of view. He crouched in the colorless shadows, the black clothes he wore making them shield him like a brother on the run, within their veil. He waited until the man passed and crept back downstairs, looking through the rubble. After failing to find any way to contact anyone he sat behind an old counter, collecting his thoughts.

"A dusk of gray clouds shadows this gray wasteland, but where am I and wherefore I am here? An illusion it is not, nor a dream, for true feeling runs in by skin and mind. Oh what treacherous god or devil would create such a a place? But musing to mine self will do no good to none. I must see what I can see amongst the ruin I find self within. Play the Scout. Play the Sneak," muttered Mackenzie to himself in thought, with a sad, but determined smile. He looked to his right to see a corner of a cellar door and crawled to it. He moved the rubble as quietly as he could, opening the door.

As he climbed down into darkness he reached up and focused, creating a miniscule light, enough to find his next step and the one afterward. He reached out and pulled a small metal chain, turning on a light and revealing an intact storeroom. Mackenzie put out the little light he had conjured and looked about. Still finding no radio or phone of any sort he sat and took off his toque.

From within the little black cap he drew a red and white capsule, releasing the one inside. Syterion stretched and looked around, a confused look on his face. "Where are we?" asked the Gallade. Mackenzie shook his head.

"I do not know, old friend, but a friendly place it is not," answered the man as he replaced the toque on his curly blonde hair.

dream's-epilogue June 1st, 2009 7:40 PM

(My original intro post, edited and patched.)

Several others, human and pokemon alike, were also lying around in a similar state.

<Ma-Matsui, what happened? Where...where are we?>

Matsui was speaking furiously.

<Where are we?! We're in hell, can't you tell?!>

<H-Hell...? But...but how...?>

<Don't tell me you never noticed it?! Everything about our home, our lives, everything! Didn't any of it feel wrong to you?!>

<I...why are...>

<That's it! Of course you don't! Because you were in on it the whole time, weren't you?!>

<Wh-what?! Matsui, I->

<SHUT UP! YOU AND IYO WERE IN IT TOGETHER, WEREN'T YOU?! DID YOU GET ENOUGH SICK LAUGHS AT MANIPULATING ME, HUH?! AT MAKING MY LIFE A LIE?!>

Maia's eyes started to water. Her reply was choked and hurt.

And I bet all of them are in on it as well! DO YOU HEAR ME?! WAKE UP, DAMMIT!!>

<MATSUI! STOP!>

He stopped, and looked at Maia. His eyes began to water.

<I...I...>

<Matsui...you know I'd never do anything that cruel to you...>

<I...Maia, I'm...>

He fought his tears, and managed to control them. She wasn't so successful. While she sobbed, Matsui closed his eyes and clenched his paws, bolts of electricity shooting from his cheeks. Maia, through her tears, managed to speak.

<It's...it's really all gone, isn't it?>

<...yeah.>

They stood in silence for a bit, the roar of gunfire echoing in the distance, and the plumes of smoke snaking lazily into the sky. Nearby, Iyo woke, stood up, stretched, and yawned. He saw the two of them.

"What'd I miss?"

((Copypasta~))

--

Mackenzie looked once more for any water or food, but everything was taken. As he turned to leave he stepped on a piece of loose tile. He knelt down and opened it. Inside was a gold, heart-shaped locket. He smiled curiously and reached in, taking it and opening it. A beautiful music played and two unfamiliar people were shown in a picture inside. Fearing they would not find it if they returned he replaced the locket and the tile and walked up the stairs to the ground floor. The bit of beauty in such terror and hell and ruin had brought back his determination. He returned Syterion and quickly moved in the shadows, making his was toward the next building over, the remains of what seemed to be an old apartment complex.

Mackenzie went inside as another soldier walked by in the street, nearly spotting him. He climbed to the second floor and entered one of the living areas; the building was remarkably intact. Mackenzie looked through everything he could find before finally opening one last drawer. Inside was a small self-defense pistol. Mackenzie froze. He began to close the drawer, but remembered the armed soldiers he had seen. He took the weapon and closed the drawer.

"I must play not the Sneak, but the Survivalist. As Walter survived on his isle through perseverance and strength of mind, so will I," said Mackenzie, referencing a story he had read once of a lone man on a isle of demons and devils, who survived through cunning and determination. In the end he crafted a raft from tough demon hide and trees, and sailed over the River Styx to emerge unscathed and return to his beloved. It was fiction, of course, but this had the feel of fiction about it as well, and fiction was meant to inspire one to reach for the unreachable.

Mackenzie walked downstairs and cut through numerous back alleys, from building to building, moving closer to the city's edge, and what he hoped was safety. He passed blazing fires and countless ruins. As he ran Mackenzie pictured all that was happening as words on a page, a habit he had grown into. Plays, stories, and words, all three connected and so connected to him.

Spark scanned his eyes around. Suddenly, he gave a dumbfound face, realizing something rather odd about his environment.

"Err.. Hold on a sec.." Spark gave another look around. He seemed to be quite surprised at the fact that NO ONE was around him. "Wait a darn minute.. This doesn't feel right..? Huh?" Spark leaned foward and started to ponder deeply.. "Why do I feel like I've been replaced?" After a brief moment of wonder, Spark laughed this off. "Pff! Whatever! I'm sure it's nothing."

Spark adjusted a shiny silver watch located around his right wrist. He slid his hands deep down in his pockets, as he began to walk away and vanished into the unknown wilderness ahead.

Unaware, a nefarious silent shadow is stalking Spark in his tracks...

-----------------Meanwhile-------------------

All the commotion around slowly began to awaken a young teen, lying uncomfortably down on the ground. Wearing apparel that was once considered perfectly clean, now completely filthy from the dirty ground.

"Ow, jeez, agh!" The boy coughed out violently as he sat up from the ground, recovering from an accidental fall he experienced earlier before losing consciousness. Though rolling down a hill doesn't seem all that hazardous especially to someone at Ikarus' age, crashing into the spikey rocks down below is undoubtably dangerous, if not painful. Coughing once more, he placed his hand on his forehead - smudging it in blood that's dripping down on the left side of his injured face. "Tah!" The boy cried displeasantly. He took a long look on his hand, now drenched in his own blood. A depressing look of explicit displeasure emerged on his face, as he was upset about attaining such an excruciating injury from such a simple and honest accident. Though it's safe to say that Ikarus has gone through worse tradegies.

"Oh, just my luck!" As Ikarus sighed his personal cheesy catchphrase, rather sarcastically and depressingly to himself. He quickly got up on his feet and took a quick look around. After he was finished, his jaw dropped open wide, his left eye twitched maniacally and his entire bloody face melted into an unpleasant mixture of anxiety and awe, as he realized he was no longer near his haven called home but now in a hellish world that reeked misfortune that was similar to Ikarus' bad luck. Trying to figure out where exactly he was, he ultimately came to the conclusion that he has just died and just entered the depths of the underworld. He became cheerful - or rather hysterical over this fact, realizing that he no longer had to suffer from his misfortunate life, considering the fact that he is now dead.. or rather, that's what he thought.

He began to smile maniacally to himself. The smile slowly shifted into a frown, realizing how illogical his conclusion actually seemed. Shaking his head in annoyance, he noticed two people nearby, both whom seemed to be a little younger then Ikarus, along with three Pokemon - two which Ikarus could not remember the names of. To him, it was a bipedal rabbit which looked rather feminine and a rather dangerous looking brownish Pikachu, alongside an Eevee. The Eevee disturbingly reminded Ikarus that he was searching for his Pokemon, a task in which he nearly forgot about.

"Wait a minute.. Sherpa! Oh, yeah! I still have to find her.. Damnit." Ikarus looked down on the ground, his head hanging frustratedly. Nonetheless, he decided to put that aside for the moment given the circumstances, and ran towards the others, hoping for a clear answer from somebody.

"Hey!!" As Ikarus reached out for their attention. Suddenly, before getting to say anything else, Ikarus tripped over something and lunged fast, crashing down on his face. His face pummeled hard into the ground, as expectedly. He ended up eating a bit of dirt, with a side of some dead grass, bits and pieces of it. He grumbled as he lifted his head off the ground to spit out a few blades of dirty grass rather disgustedy.

"Pew! Oh.. wonderful."

Ikarus wiped his dirty lips, spitting out anything remaining inside his mouth. He then checked behind him to see what exactly he tripped over. Thinking it was a large rock he tripped over, the first thing he noticed was a lifeless cloaked figure in a pool of blood. Fearfully backing away from the figure in shock was his first reaction.

"W-what the hell?!" Cried Ikarus, as he slowly positioned himself further away from the cloaked body, unsure of who or what exactly it was. The mysterious figure seemed to be blending in with the landscape perfectly, being completely still and shrouded by a similar color as the dead ground.

Mackenzie stopped in front of an old, bombed out guard tower. He walked through the remnants of the doorway and up a staircase to a few floors of defense positions. He climbed up and sat in front of what was left of a gunner window. He saw a few young people with the look of trainers on a gray cliff, as well as some pokemon.

Mackenzie breathed a sigh of relief and climbed back to the base of the tower. He removed his hat and took out two pokeballs, sending out Syterion and Jolini. Jolini immediately started stepping from side to side while he looked around in confusion. Syterion explained that they didn't know where they were.

"I have seen upon yonder hill some others who look to not be soldiers, but trainers. We should go and see if they have any information on where we are and why we are here," said Mackenzie. Syterion and Jolini nodded and the group left the crumbling tower. Mackenzie and his pokemon walked toward the others, Jolini breaking into a run. The Lombre jumped out at the kids, trying to scare them. He got thumped in the back of the head by Syterion.

"Sorry." muttered Jolini to the other humans and pokemon. Syterion nodded and Mackenzie came over.

"Pardon the trouble, Jolini has a mischievous nature. Has any of you knowledge of the place we have appeared in?" the magician asked politely.
