~Where to get the EV'S??
I don't know if this is in one of the sticky, but if it is, just tell me where, bit me, and then close this, thanks!.
Well, i finally beated all the game, so, as a good trainer i wanna start raising a competitive team, for true battles, well, the best way is have good pokemon with Effort values!, well the question is, where and what pokemon can give me efforts here in Fire red?. Thanks :paranoid: |
Thanks to GameFAQs for supplying this information:
HP: Island 3, patch of grass after the cave at the beginning filled with Dunsparce. They give 1 HP EV. Attack: At Mount Moon, in one of the basement levels where it connects two ladders, there are always a lot of Paras giving you 1 Attack EV. Defense: Surfing right underneath Palet Town will get you to a patch of grass holding mostly Tangela, for 1 Defence EV each Speed: The absolute easiest stat to train for. Any place with Pidgey (1 Speed EV) or Pidgeotto (2 Speed EV) will do, and those are very common. Near Pallet Town will work. Caves with Zubat (1 Speed EV) or Golbat (2 Speed EV) will work too. Sp Att: Slugma in Island 1 Cave Floor 2 gives 1 Special Attack EV. Sp Def: Most oceans hold only Tentacool and Tentacruel. These are a great way to gain Special Defense(1 EV for Tentacool and 2 EV for Tentacruel.) |
Well, quick reply!.
THanks to Game faqs....and of couse Toothy for the info!. BTW, da breeding banner don't work... |
so FR/LG use the EV system too...?
cause I was getting confused... while training I've been noticing that the Pokemon I fight don't really seem to make a difference in the stat gains of my Pokemon when it goes up a level. the stat gains seem to be preset, not affected by EV values >_< I'm so confused. I've never really understood the EV/IV system that well. |
Wait a sec now im confused. Can some1 please explain breifly what Ev/Iv is to me?
|
for special attack ev's the best place is pokemon tower in
lavander town gastly provides 1 haunter provides 2 for hp try viridian forest caterpie each give one for speed ev's anywhere between pallet town and viridian city pidgey and rattata each provide one and they're the only things that appear so it'll be easy. |
OK.... but what are ev's i think i think there something else.
|
Kael, read the FAQs in the Strategy and Movesets forum and the RSE forum. Both have a section about EVs in them. I'm not so sure about the FRLG FAQ.
|
Man... im so blind. i cant find it. Its in R/S/E right? cani get a link?

ok that's what you meant ok
EV's are points that you can use to make your pokemon stronger every pokemon can earn 510 of these points and no more no matter what. the catch is that any particular stat can only earn 255 stat points. basically it means you can't ever max out any pokemons stats. 4 ev's (stat points) are equal to 1 stat point meaning that for ever 4 ev's that you get you increase you pokemons maximum stat 1 point 4 ratatta's is equal to 1 point extra in your speed rating. things that help you raise your EV's Macho brace : gives you double ev's from battle meaning that if u fight 1 ratatta instead of getting only 1 ev point to add to your speed, you can get 2 ev's Vitamins: i.e. carbos, zinc, iron and such, each provides 10 ev points the catch with these things is that once any particular stat reaches 100 points your pokemon won't take anymore of them. basically it's a good idea to give them out early. vitamins and macho brace will make ev training way faster. also Pokerus if you're lucky enough to get it, when you're pokemon has it the amount of ev's you earn in battle is doubled. just like if you were holding the macho brace, without having your speed cut in half. a nice trick is if u'r pokemon has the macho brace and the pokerus you can have it earn 4 times the normal amount of ev's remember before 1 ratatta is = to 1 speed ev well if u'r pokemon had both the macho brace and Pokerus 1 ratatta would be = to 4 speed ev's basically u'd have a super lucky pokemon that would be UBER easy to raise. now for IV"s (individual values) this is basically your pokemon's genes. every pokemon can have iv's between 0 and 31 for each particular stat. here's the formula to calculate your iv's I = [{(C / N) - 5} 100 / L} - (2 * B) * for NON ev trained pokemon , this works if rare candy your pokemon up or if u caught it at high levels. I=<[{(C / N) - 5}100 / L] - (2 * B) - (E /4)>4 *for EV trained pokemon ONLY I = IV or Individual Value C = Current Stat what shows in the summary screen N = Nature (Boost = 1.1) (netural = 1) (negative = 1.1) L = Level B = Base Stat Value (go to gamefaqs. they have a thingy for all the pokemon base stats it's very useful E = Effort value added, if you've been ev training keep track of how many points you've accumulated so u'll get the proper numbers / = devide * = multiply both of these formulas work BEST if your pokemon is at higher levels Lv.40 should give you a reasonably close end result. also these formulas DO NOT work for finding the IV for your HP that's a different formula but I forgot it so...sorry anyway hope this helps |

So i invite you to read the ''advanced trainer guide'' in Game faqs, is in pokemon Ruby...i can't give a link to game faqs. Im sorry, i can't explain good the EV, english is not my mother languaje... |

252 divided by 4 gives 63. Now, if that number was 251, only 62 points would be added, since 251/4 = 61 remainder 3. Numbers are not rounded up. |
So like if i battle a rattata i get speed bonuses? is it only certain pokemon that give these evs? and do u get the ev's when u battle or when u raise a level
|
Can someone jsut provide a location of a chart for evs? I know Frosty knows a palce, but I can't remember teh site. They should have the evs for FR/LG by now. :\
