Deck Construction

Well at the moment I'm just collecting Labyrinth of Nightmare, Metal Raiders and Magic/Spell Ruler. Any ideas for a deck?

Mullet September 15th, 2004 12:43 PM

Not many strong cards in those sets. Try some other sets.

Pogiforce-14 September 15th, 2004 2:33 PM

Try some Invasion of Chaos, if you want to use what is proven to be a pain in the butt to beat. If you want classic beatdowns, you'll want Pharoah's servant. If you wan't good spellcaster, try Magician's Force. And I believe legacy of Darkness has plenty of good dragons to use if you prefer that.

Mullet September 15th, 2004 2:58 PM

Dark Crisis has D.D. Warrior Lady too.

Pogiforce-14 September 15th, 2004 3:00 PM

Yeah, well, Dark Crisis is very selective when it comes to good cards.

Mullet September 15th, 2004 3:04 PM

Well it only has D.D. Warrior Lady (I think). Did I miss any other good cards from DC.

Pogiforce-14 September 15th, 2004 3:07 PM

There's NEcross, but he is very situational and is only useful for people with a complete set of exodia to their deck. Only extreme duelists that have been playing for some time have that, And I ghet the impression this guy is fairly new to the game. :\

Mullet September 15th, 2004 3:09 PM

Well Necross is kind of good.

Depends on your definition of good.

Pogiforce-14 September 15th, 2004 3:10 PM

LIke I said, extremely situational and is only good to those extreme players. Which means he wouldn't really help this guy, as like I said, he seems fairly new to the game.

Mullet September 15th, 2004 3:30 PM

You never know though.

Not many people play Exodia anymore and with Witch, Sangan and Graceful Charity being offically banned now poor Exodia will see even less play.

So I think Exodia will see a decline in play. :classic:

B. Skull Dragon card is the strongest I've got, but I need the two fusion material monsters for it...on the other paw, I may be collecting Legend of Blue Eyes, try and come up with a Dragon-based deck.

KLS September 16th, 2004 2:04 PM

what set you NEVER build in =
LOB
period
NEVER

Mullet September 16th, 2004 2:08 PM

Well LoB does have Raigeki, Pot of Greed, Monster Reborn, and Swords of Reveling Light but that is about all it has going for it.

Novastorm September 17th, 2004 12:49 AM

Pogi, I can see what you mean about the amount of Dragon-types in in the LoD card set.

True, that there may not be some strong monster cards in the set I've chosen, but some of them like Destiny Board, and the Spirit Message cards, can win the match in 5 turns.

Mullet September 17th, 2004 3:32 AM

Those cards are not good in todays tourny world because of so much m/t removal. :)

Novastorm September 17th, 2004 4:42 AM

Isn't that a beach...oh well. (shrugs)

Mullet September 17th, 2004 1:22 PM

What is a beach? What are you talking about?

I never said anything about a beach!

Novastorm September 18th, 2004 1:41 AM

lol I'm not after a tourny deck, just a standard one.

Mullet September 18th, 2004 1:59 PM

Well you could beat a lot of people in casual play if you have a tourny deck!

Pogiforce-14 September 18th, 2004 3:19 PM

Still, you want to build to win, right? You can find some exhileration out of losing every once in a while, but the game becomes no fun if you make a practice of it. Most tourny players use their tourny decks in casual play too, so you may ahve to make a tourny play just to stand a chance in even casual play. :\

Mullet September 18th, 2004 3:22 PM

Yes the tourny players in our area are good, I can beat them though.

Pogiforce-14 September 18th, 2004 5:33 PM

quit bragging about it, because they beat you more times than you beat them.

Mullet September 18th, 2004 5:38 PM

That is wrong, I'd think I'd know and you can beat them too.

Pogiforce-14 September 18th, 2004 5:40 PM

And agian, they beat more more times than I beat them. The same goes for you. Van's deck is just slightly better than ours, and he ahs a higher win loss ratio than us.The way you say it, you oimply it's easy. :\

Mullet September 18th, 2004 5:54 PM

Well when I met Von I beat him all the time I haven't really dueled his chaos deck that many times.

He is making a spellcaster deck.
