whos getting/got pokemon platinum?
i have diamond but i don't know whether to get platinum it looks good but it also looks a bit similar to diamond/pearl so should i get it and why and who here has it
|
I got it the day it came out xDD You should get it. It's similar...but slightly different. |
I have Platinum. I received it three days after it came out.
Also, Platinum is different than Diamond in some aspects, with a different storyline and such. Some cities and towns have been revamped also! I would recommend getting Platinum, but it is up to you! |
I will get it with a DS too. in a few days. getting it for my bday.
|
It has a TON of new features, to be honest. Other than the storyline being different, even some of the pokemon have been rearranged. I've ran into pokemon in locations that they would not normally appear. Not to mention the move tutors.
You get a Return TM at the very early of the game, and again later on. The gyms have been revamped, and the leaders seem stronger than before. There are more Wi-fi features such as recording matches, mini-games, and I believe you can fight random people over wi-fi like you can on Battle Revolution. |
I am on May 22nd, god damn European launch dates =(
I could just download it and play it sooner, but I really don't want to do that. |

I pre-ordered mine and got the Giratina figurine that comes with it.

I haven't got it yet. I'd like to, though.
|
I'm getting it in exactly two weeks. (on the 23.) That's my Barfday. :D I can't wait to play through with my ready-set Platinum team in Diamond. |
Ive Had It Since it Came Out in japanese.. pfft Its So Hard In Japanese I Spent Months Trying To Get to The Bike shop Then Found out I Needed an Egg
Hehe Its Awesome Though =D |
Yeah, I've got it, and it's pretty good, I'm playing it now.
|
I got it as well on the day it came out. A lot can be done prior to D/P like the Battle Frontier and the Wifi-Plaza. And it's compatible with Battle Revolution.
Get it. I think it's worth it. |
It was definately worth buying. I'm playing it now.
I'de say you shoulde buy it! |
I got it and like it for the most part. The battle fontier and Top trainer Cafe are win...
|
I got it a day after it came out.

Y'know, Platinum's the closest game that neared the Gold/Silver/Crystal feel. Amazing that the latest game, the one most advanced, the one the farthest from the second generation, is the one that reminds you of the earlier times... Everything's so exhilirating. I love the crisper colours. Everything's just bright and vivid. You could also leap onto Wi-Fi Plaza any time you want to take a break from the major story line, yet you want to keep playing. Compared to Diamond, I'd still say it's worth it. A lot of things have been changed around. The new battle places are nice (I miss some of the emerald ones like the battle pike and the dojo place where the pokemon controlled themselves). Wi-Fi has been MAJORLY upgraded. It's the biggest step forward in DS Wi-Fi capabilities. Wi-Fi Plaza + Battle Recorder -drool- The Battle Recorder is Battle Frontier compatible, of course, and you can upload interesting things for everyone to see, like photos of your accessorized pokemon, your box data, your favourite battle recordings, etc. I thought we'd have a choice to record each battle we had, but even w/o that, it's still really nice. Anyway, to answer your question: YES. |
I'm getting it, I just don't know when. I think I will have to pre-order it.
Crissy xX |
i got it, its really fun. at the begining almost everything look the same, just not the events but later alot of things changes wich is good :)
|
I'm getting Pokemon Platinum :)
|
I got my american copy on import last saturday..
I'm owning team galactic as we speak. |
I preordered and got it. Love it and it's actually alot easier than D/P in several ways
|
Platinum is awesome but, it's really your choice, but I adore the new Pokemon Sprites. |
in all honesty, i think they amped up the trainers, gym leaders, and wild Pokémon a little bit in some areas. perhaps, Kaseo, that's why it seems to be a bit easier, because you can train against the trainers and wild Pokémon, and still keep up with the gyms. overall, i love Platinum, though. there are a ton of new features of which i love, such as the new Battle Frontier, and i agree with Penumbra, that you kind of miss the Battle Pike and Dojo from Emerald's Battle Frontier. but that doesn't meen that it's not a good game, though. this should sate my hunger for a new Pokémon game for a bit (here's to hoping for a G/S/C remake, lol). :D
