First and Second Gen. Journey Journal

Talk about anything about the metal or colour games no rules except stick to topic and dont spam or flam Have fun and enjoy

Ill starts things off whats your fav part of the old games discuss what it is

my fav part is the cloning cuz you could clone a rare candy (first rare candy in R/B/Y Mt Moon G/S/C/ um near daycare i think get back to me on that one) lots of time so when you vs misty R/B/Y and chuck on G/S/C you can have a lvl 100 poekmon and you can complete the game in about 1 or 2 hours

discuss why you like/hate cloning give your reasons why

Also my pokemon essay

Pokemon why i love it

I love pokemon. I love the way they look. I love playing the pokemon games. Im gonna tell you the reasons why i love pokemon.

I love Pokemon because there so cool to look at and train. I like the way you can train a kool looking bee/wasp and vs a coconut or a pine cone. I like the way you have to vs gym leaders to use Hms. This is what i like about the pokemon games.

I wish pokemon was real. I wish pokemon was real so that i could have a Beedrill by my side at all times. No bullys would hurt me because my pokemon would protect me. wouldnt have to go to school i could go on a pokemon journey with my Beedrill. I really do wish pokemon was real.

My favourite type of pokemon is bug. I love bug pokemon because of there looks. I love insects and bugs and its a type of pokemon so i tarin them up. They are easy to tarin up and evolve. I love the environment they live in. That is why i love bug pokemon.

My Favourite pokemon is Beedrill. I love Beedrill because its a bug type my favourite type. Beedrill has got a stripe pattern on his body and i like that. I love the stingers on the end of this arms they look so dangerous. I wish i had a Beedrill as a pet.

They are some of the reasons why i Love pokemon. I could go on about how i love pokemon but then i would be here all day typing. I really think pokemon is cool. The creaters of pokemon should be proud of themself for createing the best invention of all time.

Hope you like my pokemon essay

Flex_S April 12th, 2009 4:33 PM

Hey, I caught Mewtwo, using 1 Ultra Ball, After I had a lvl 60-something Hypno, use Hypnosis, and Headbutt, and got his HP down to the lowest. Is this lucky?

Beedrill Lover April 13th, 2009 12:00 AM

nice one Flex S it took me like 100 ultra balls to catch mewtwo and he was paralized and had 1hp left

Fudge April 28th, 2009 9:46 AM

I once found Suicune randomly while in that patch of grass next to Olivine, and luckily had Jynx at the top. Lovely Kiss, Body Slam, like 20hp left, everything going perfectly....
Then, to my dismay, no ultra balls or fast balls.
Just three Great Balls.
Needless to say, the second one I threw actually caught it!
Does feel like you didn't deserve it but still cool :)
Oh and never found Entei OR Raikou in that game, and forgot to save before Lugia and killed him. :(
Oh well. =)

Roxasabridged April 28th, 2009 10:09 AM

The music for your rival/E4/Red was plain epic.

Kiitsune April 28th, 2009 11:25 AM

I downloaded crystal on my phone, shame no music plays
It's kind of a modded version too, all pokemon including starters are in grass and high level pokemon roam first batch of grass so I have to run although there rare :3
(lvl 40 kadabra wooped my little cyndaquil)
Fortunately, Growlithe's and Vulpix's, lvl 7 roam the grass also, so I have my first vulpix on Crystal straight away, I didn't hesistate to catch it
It's a bit hard i'm stuck after my second battle with a trainer as his lvl 16 pidgey destroys cyndaquil and vulpix :(

Hope you liked my journeys so far ;p

Foxnordic June 23rd, 2009 8:24 PM

years ago when i was playing silver version, i was headbutting trees looking for herracross. After about two hours i run into a shiny pineco, i reduced its hp to about a mm, i threw pokeballs but it wouldn't capture it and then the pineco used selfdestruct :( but i think bug pokemon are awesome as well, beedrill is pretty ballin i have to admit

FFStudios July 15th, 2009 4:00 PM

I just had a "WTF" moment in Gold

So I play Gold a lot. I tried a few of the GBA Pokemon games, but I never could find as much enjoyment as in the Gold/Silver versions. I also play some Blue on the side.

So I have two Pokemon (just started a new game), Cyndiquil and Rattata. The Cyndiquil is L12, and the Rattata is L16. I went to the Azeala Gym (is that how you spell it?) and beat the first 3 people using only Rattata. I went for Bugsy with 21HP left. I whited out. Rattata fainted and Cyndiquil didn't have enough power to defeat the last Pokemon.

I healed and went back, this time sending Cyndiquil out first. I defeated the first Pokemon with a quick Ember attack (it was a Metapod). I got a 217 Exp bonus. It boosted the Cyndiquil to L13. Scyther was the next opponent. I took somewhere around 30 Damage. However, I defeated the Scyther too (it was a level 14). I got a 615 EXP BONUS. It shot me up to L15. I easily defeated the last pokemon (Weedle) and got another 200 Exp bonus. I got up to L16 and then evolved into Quilava.

I essentially boosted 4 levels in one battle and evolved because of it. And I never had to use my L16 Rattata. Seriously.

ShinyClefairy July 16th, 2009 5:51 AM

Yes well, cyndaquil does have an advantage over bugs so thats probably why it was easier. The same thing happened to me sorta. xD

Ayselipera July 16th, 2009 7:49 AM

Well fire has an advantage over bug and Rattata is a crappy pokemon anyways.

MLU July 16th, 2009 7:57 AM

FEAR THE RATTATA

Lol. Yeah, I think Cyndaquil is the easiest starter to train, considering it has the latest evolve chain.

Kanto_Johto July 16th, 2009 10:19 AM

I wouldn't really class it as a "WTF" moment. Pretty cool though. I've never raised Rattatas before.

The whole this was was that I needed a secondary Pokemon in case the Cyndiquil fainted. I decided on a small Rattata, just because of how many there were around. The one I caught (using standard Poke Ball) was a level 5, which was the highest of a wild Pokemon I'd seen (just before Violet City)

Some of it's moves like Hyper Fang are extremely effective. In some instances I was able to use it and defeat a same level Pokemon with a critical hit

Wings Don't Cry July 16th, 2009 7:52 PM

Once I was playing pokemon Yellow and I didn't want to use my Master Ball ever, so I went to Mewtwo and I got my Articuno to use Ice Beam and Mewtwo froze in one hit and I threw a pokeball and caught it just like that, I tried the freeze thing on GenIII and it didn't work out so well

Pekachoo July 19th, 2009 4:05 PM

When I was little, I never figured out what a fortress was!
And when I checked the pokedex, it said bagworm.
o.O??

Pokémon Crystal

Started this afternoon at 1Pm. Chose a Cyndaquil. [Aww he's so cute]
Went to Mr. Pokémons house and obtained Pokédex from Prof. Oak.
Cyndaquil gets his ass kicked by ???. I don't like ??? very much. He's a tad rude. :oGo to Prof. Elms lab. Name my Rival 'Fart' [I was gonna call him something much ruder but Fart is funnier and more childish] because I don't like him ¬¬
Go to Violet city, Battle my way through sprout tower. [I don't want to see another Bellsprout FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE!]
Thrash Falkners ass with Quilavae and Butterfree. [Butterfree narrowly escapes death by Pidgey.)
Go through Union Cave. Find TM and Items.
Go to Azalea town. Beat all he rockets with ease.
Thrash Bugsys ass with Quialva.
Beat rival outside Ilix Forest.
Get that damn Farfetch'd.
Catch a Paras and use cut to get to Goldenrod.
Togepi hatches on 2nd level of Department store.
Have to go ALL THE WAY BACK to New Bark Town.
Just leaving Cherrygrove city when I saved to come down here. Run out of Repels. -.-

So I've had quite a busy morning XD

Current Team:

Butterfree: Lvl. 17
Quilava Lvl. 19
and

QUIVER IN FEAR

Togepi Lvl. 5

oh and the Odd Daycare Egg... forgotten what it hatches into :P

my fave thing about G/S/C was that you could get all 3 starters by doing that "hold pokeball/change box" thing. no longer did you have to choose between the 3!

i think i'm going to restart my game, though. i may do one of those "challenges" that people post in the forums.

saturday_13 September 7th, 2009 12:44 AM

oh.
im sorry.
i didnt mean to...

i just started not even 24 hours ago.
and yeah...

but thank you :]

well in 19 hours now...
i am up to battling sabrina.
and all six of my party are at level 36 or 37.

i dont know if thats a good thing or not.
but..

i am trying the best i can.

so yeah my favorite pokemon in my party has to be my snorlax at the moment :]

Still your story is doing well though :)

Swift! October 1st, 2009 11:21 PM

I restarted Pokemon Gold recently and chose Cyndaquil as my starter, cause he is sooooo kawaii! Anyways, I did all the boring stuff at the start involving the mystery egg and battling Silver. After that I trained Cyndaquil and caught a Hoothoot, who I also trained for a bit.

mondays suck October 6th, 2009 7:25 AM

rofl, Lance's Aerodactyl just got a flinch, 2 crits and two more flinchs in a row with rock slide... happened on my mono ice in crystal where i'm trying to collect money for teaching my Lapras Thunderbolt.

Swift! October 8th, 2009 4:12 AM

I played some more Pokemon Gold today and I managed to defeat everyone in the Sprout Tower and the Violet City Gym. Then I got the Togepi egg from Professor Elm's assistant before heading south onto Route 32. I caught a female Mareep whom I trained for a while. Cyndaquil evoled into Quilava while in Union Cave and then I was defeated by Hiker Anthony on Route 33. >:O Oh! And I also caught a Magikarp to use as a HM Slave.

HomicideCrunkMan October 9th, 2009 10:27 AM

umm, you can't teach a single thing to magikarp......

Currently playing a horribly translated Green version, i just beat Brock with a nice Leech Seed+Growl stall =D
Spoiler:

my team:
:t001: Incon Lv. 12 (Go All Out, Chirps, Parasite)
:t019: Kelar Lv. 10 (Go All Out, Wag Tail, Sharpness)
:t016: Bobo Lv. 10 (Blow, Sprinkle Sand)
:t029: Nider Lv. 10 (Chirps, Go All Out, Scratch)
:t021: Machi Lv. 9 (Peck, Chirps, Gaze)
:t011: Telan Lv. 9 (Go All Out, Spin Silk)

which means:
:t001: Bulbasaur Lv. 12 (Tackle, Growl, Leech Seed)
:t019: Rattata Lv. 10 (Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack)
:t016: Pidgey Lv. 10 (Gust, Sand Attack)
:t029: Nidoran f Lv. 10 (Growl, Tackle, Scratch)
:t021: Spearow Lv. 9 (Peck, Growl, Leer)
:t011: Metapod Lv. 9 (Tackle, String Shot)

I'm at Vermilion now, and found out the Dux trade doesnt work for some reason, which is the end of chances to complete the Pokedex =D
And i'm pretty overleveled, because i wanted to have Gyarados before Misty - and fought Misty before Red or whatever i called my rival like

Spoiler:

Spoiler:
team:
:t002: Fushi Lv. 17 (Go All Out, Chirps, Parasite, Rattan Whip)
:t021: Machi Lv. 18 (Peck, Chirps, Gaze, Flowers Blooms)
:t130: Carla Lv. 21 (Splash, Go All Out, Bite, Transparent Ray)
:t074: Stone Lv. 18 (Go All Out, Become Round, Heavy Boxing, Throw Rock)
:t064: Yugel Lv. 19 (Transmit, Willpower)
:t052: Niss Lv. 15 (Scratch, Chirps, Bite)

which means:

:t002: Ivysaur Lv. 17 (Tackle, Growl, Leech Seed, Vine Whip)
:t021: Spearow Lv. 18 (Peck, Growl, Leer, Fury Attack)
:t130: Gyarados Lv. 21 (Splash, Tackle, Bite, Bubble Beam)
:t074: Geodude Lv. 18 (Tackle, Defense Curl, Mega Punch, Rock Throw)
:t064: Kadabra Lv. 19 (Teleport, Confusion)
:t052: Meowth Lv. 15 (Scratch, Growl, Bite)

Now i'm at Celadon and caught a Dodou (Cucko) to replace Fearow (Drill) with. Also caught a Vulpix (Adver), which i will probably add to my team too, but i don't know who i might replace for Vulpix... Maybe Meowth, but i need Pay Day aka Play the Lute, money shortage is a common thing in the gen.1 gens and since this is no run, i need money for more "Monster Balls"
And theres a Lass with 3 Meowths west of Lavender and the game always freezes when i beat her

team:
:t002: Fushi Lv. 25 (Sword Skill, PoisonousPowder, Parasite, Rattan Whip)
:t130: Carla Lv. 26 (Crush, Dragon's Anger, Bite, Transparent Ray)

:t064: Yugel Lv. 25 (Transmit, Willpower, Bundle)
:t052: Niss Lv. 26 (Noise, Chirps, Bite, Play the Lute)

:t051: Pipel Lv. 26 (Scratch, Chirps, Dig Hole, Sprinkle Sand)
:t084: Cucko Lv. 22 (Peck, Chirps, Fly)

which means:
:t002: Ivysaur Lv. 25 (Cut, Poison Powder, Leech Seed, Vine Whip)
:t130: Gyarados Lv. 26 (Body Slam, Dragon Rage, Bite, Bubblebeam)

:t064: Kadabra Lv. 25 (Teleport, Confusion, Disable)
:t052: Niss Lv. 26 (Screech, Growl, Bite, Pay Day)

:t051: Dugtrio Lv. 26 (Scratch, Growl, Dig, Sand Attack)
:t084: Dodou Lv. 22 (Peck, Growl, Fly)

Sword Skill sounds kinda awesome.... but it's just Cut lol
And Kadabra is of the Superman type, and why seems it like that "Yugel" is be a short from for "YuriGeller", which is pretty much "Uri Geller"?

Pokémon Ranger ✩ Moriarty November 29th, 2009 11:51 AM

I think that this is worth recording:

Defeated the Elite Four and Lance the first time around. This is the first time I've ever beaten the E4 + Champion in any Generation for 11 years. Holy. I was impressed.

So then the game resets and Professor Elm is all "yo get your butt over to Kanto, here's your ticket, blah blah blah". I set off to the next city along to get my Flying Pokémon out of the PC so I can fly to Olivine. I step into the grass. DEE NEE NEE NEE NEE. "Oh great, another Level 2 Rattatta..."

Nope. It was Entei.

downloaded a ROM for Blue Version. I'm going to see how far I can get with just a team of Zubat

.little monster December 22nd, 2009 6:11 PM

As of right now my team is:

Quilava Level 31
Togetic Level 30

I have two badges. I am in Goldenrod hatching the Odd Egg over and over. I have hatched every Pokemon shiny over 10 times, except Smoochum. I have yet to find one. Yet, that's the one I need.

I actually just hatched three shiny Tyrouges in a row. >>

Edit 1: Finally got Shiny Smoochum.

Edit 2: Just evolved my Shiny Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Magby, Elekid, Smoochum, and two Tyrouges (one Hitmonchan, one Hitmontop.)

Edit 3: I decided to hatch for a shiny team. I need to hatch a Shiny Togepi, Cyndaquil, Hitmontop (already have shiny), Remoraid, and Ledyba. Then the sixth place is for an HM slave.

Edit 4: Hatched a Shiny Togepi on the 34th egg. On egg 40 for Cyndaquil.

Edit 5: Hatched a Shiny Cyndaquil on the 55th egg.

Panfisha February 18th, 2010 9:47 PM

Just beat the E4 using my soul silver dream team(like in my sig). The best part was, my level 44 umbreon beat 2 of Lance's dragonites just by using toxic and confuse ray, and a few faint attacks. By the time they were in the red and lance wanted to use a full restore(you can tell when the computer will use one), the poison took it's effect.

Zeta Sukuna February 24th, 2010 3:18 PM

I have to be the luckiest person with my file. I caught a shiny Pidgeotto, and got Pokerus before I even got the 8th badge.

Team:
Eevee: Lv. 33
Gyarados: Lv. 32
Raticate: Lv. 32
Meganium: Lv. 32
Sudowoodo: Lv. 32
Pidgeotto: Lv. 32

And they have Pokerus, which is awesome.

I was playing Pokemon Brown again today, and somehow I managed to do no progress at all. I got to 2 new towns, got a new badge, and twice I walked accidentally into the same hexagram thingy in a place that looks like Lavender's tower and the game froze. And twice I had not saved for all the time. Now my good mood is ruined.

My story:

(In no way am I trying to brag with this post. It has taken me a very long time in order to complete what I have done and I just wish to post what I have attained in my first and second gen of Pokemon).

Favorite Pokemon: Mew
Second Favorite: Mewtwo

My story was a quite simple one and one that took me to completing what I envisioned when I got my silver version. I have arguably created the most powerful lineup possible for the second generation games.

(My red version has 151 Pokemon Owned & Seen) (Complete Pokedex)
(My Silver version has 250 Pokemon Owned & Seen) (Complete Pokedex W/Out the Celebi/Impossible to attain w/out a gameshark)

My Silver Lineup:
All Lvl 100: Mew, Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-oh, Tyranitar, and Dragonite.

Combined these six pokemon produce the single greatest statistical power in all of pokemon. Mewtwo, Ho-oh, and Lugia are the three most powerful Pokemon in the second gen games. The next bracket is filled with Mew, Tyranitar, Dragonite, and... Celebi. However, Mew, Tyranitar, and Dragonite are statistically equal to Celebi in overall statistics. (No other Pokemon in the second generation game are overall as powerful as these seven Pokemon) The problem with obtaining a Celebi is that it is impossible on American versions and I personally do not use a gameshark. This has hindered me from obtaining the final 251 Pokemon but I do not mind since I do not use the gameshark.

I obviously used the Mew Glitch in order to obtain the final Pokemon for both of my Pokedex. So without cheating I did obtain 150/249 possible Pokemon. The Mew basically has filled the 6th spot in my lineup to help me create the ultimate overall lineup in the Second Gen Games. Now of course there are many factors in a Pokemon battle, but based statistically and by my own experiences these 6 Pokemon are the ultimate lineup, and are really a bugger to try and beat.

I have also put the strongest moves and TM's that these Pokemon can learn. Unfortunately my Ho-oh does not have Sacred Ash which is only obtainable in Gold, and my Gold version had a lvl 100 Ho-oh but has been wiped out. The Lugia still has aeroblast and the other Pokemon like Mewtwo and Mew have the basic Psychic and 3 other powerful moves.

My questions are as follows.

Does anybody know of a better lineup than this? I have searched online and have used my own life experience and this is the best that I have come up with.

Also, does anybody know how to get Celebi? It would be pretty awesome to finally get 251 Pokemon. It requires the GS Ball, but however has become impossible to American users w/out the gameshark. Is there a chance that if you have all 250 Pokemon, Nintendo may grant you one? The Ilex forest shrine is where it is found but I have never been able to get anything to pop out of it by using sweet scent. (which I found out wasn't possible after an hour of trying) :(

If you have any questions for me please mail me. I have spent 100's of hours on these games and know them pretty much in and out.

So I beat the Elite Four and all 16 badges and now I'm training at Mt Silver to take on Red. My team consists of:
Umbreon
Pikachu
Nidoqueen
Pidgeot
Arcanine
Feraligatr

So yeah, scratch my last post (:

found my crystal not long ago, now i'm in the cave in between violet city and the other (azaela if i'm not mistaking?) with a lvl 14 furret and a 14 chikorita!

Aggron1991 May 25th, 2010 6:41 PM

Once, in Yellow, I got frustrated that none of my Pikachu's attacks could do any damage against Brock, so I went and caught a Rattata, trained it to Lv13 or so, and managed to beat Brock with gratuitous amounts of Tail Whip and Quick Attack.

Long story short: By the time I got to the E4, all my pokemon were low-level and untrained...with the exception of a Lv81 Raticate who knew Hyper Fang, Super Fang, Water Gun and Tail Whip. I got demolished by them every time.

Cut me some slack--I was 9.

Eventually my friend agreed to trade me a Lv100 Mew from his Silver version, and I managed to beat the E4 handily after that. I was proud of myself then, but now I'm looking back and feeling kind of cheap about the whole thing.

I wish I could find my Yellow version now...if I could, I'd go back and play the quest over again, training my Pikachu and the 3 starters evenly and getting together a good, well-balanced team to beat the E4.

Alas, it was stolen a while back...

AnjinMiura_PL May 26th, 2010 8:36 AM

As it's topic for describing our games, I'll give a try ;)

Game:Pokemon Crystal [emulator]
Starter:Cyndaquil (anyway, it's not important)
Target:To make an uber poison/bug team! And to finish the game in another way, I guess ;)

So, I started...geez, we all know what is at the beginning. I picked a Cyndaquil and started my poison/bug journey. First Pokemon which I caught was Caterpie. It was my plan to get Butterfree. After quick training mah Caterpie turned into strong, powerful and strong again (yeah ;D) Lvl 12 Butterfree. I've beaten Hitler (rival, xD) first time with mah immortal butterfly and finished a "Mr. Pokemon Quest". After that I've headed to Violet - time to get Bellsprout!

I've had Bellsprout in a lot of my old games. Time to bring back memories. Well skilled Bellsprout destroyed Violet Gym and snatched Zephyrbadge for me. I sent Quilava to PC (maybe you don't like it, maybe it was wrong), and with brand new Weepinbell and Butterfree I was on the way to Azalea. Rockets, Bugsy and Hitler - that was the plan.

Third Pkmn which joined my team was Ekans. Training of Ekans went well after 9lvl (Poison Sting), so I've had Arbok in Azalea already. Team levels were about 23, Rocket's butts were kicked, Bugsy defeated, Hitler was very angry again - B/P Team were stronger and stronger, Goldenroad ahead!

I know one place, very close to Johto, where the Moon Stone is. Tohjo Falls! So maybe I should get Nidoking or Nidorina first time? But which Pkmn - Nidoqueen or Nidoking - could learn Surf? Nidoqueen, exactly. Hell yeah. But first, I went to National Park and catched Nidoran(f). As always, ubertraining mode was lauched and fourth Pkmn joined my team. That was the plan. Whitney was crashed by Nidorina without any doubt. Now to Ecruteak. We gotta kick some asses, folks.

I've used Krabby as Surfer in journeys beetwen Olivine and Cianwood. Team also trained very hard, so every Pkmn (Butterfree, Weepinbell, Arbok, Nidorina) had 40 lvl before route to Mahogany. I also won with Hitler again (not this time man). Fight with Jasmine was tough, but Nidorina's Surf saved the battle. 40's team in Mahogany, but I still have two free places in mah team. Which Pkmn I should choose? Which Pkmn is good to join my party?

Venomoth, of course. I can't stand any game without Venomoth. I really like Venomoth, it's so cool and powerful. So I catched Venonat first. Some skilling. Evolution into Venomoth. Ven'th won all battles with Rockets in Mahogany alone. Hell yeah, Ven'th rocks. It also defeated Pierce and rest of ice trainers for me. Above 40's team, Elm calls - Radio Tower in troubles. Without fly we walked about a minute or two, but it wasn't any problem. We entered the Radio Tower and...

...as always, everybody must be anihilated. No doubt, B/P Team is too strong for Rockets. For Hitler too, cause I defeated him again in basement. Director saved, team about 45 lvls - I need some ubertraining before E4. But I've time, I also need a bagde from Blackthron. With little problems, but it's mine after battle with Clair and journey to Den. Eight bagdes, Elm's call - "Master Ball is awaitin'!". I was in New Bark again. Without rest I went to Kanto - Elite Four will pass before my power too. But only if I raise my power by some cool training.

Journey to Indigo Plateau was cool. With some problems, but I passed througth all trainers and entered the Victory Road. VR is so easy in G/S/C games, so it took a minute. I've met Hitler again and kicked him again too. Now ubertraining in Victory Road starts. It took some time, but after all, I've had a 52lvl team, E4 is awaiting, we GONNA KICK SOME ASSES NOW REALLY COOL! Okay, not too loud ;) Just enter the hall, win four battles, beat my pal Lance and become a Pkmn League Meister ;)

Will was easy, Arbok had fun time while killin' every Will's fallaz. Koga couldn't stand But-Ven Psychostorm. Bruno was the easiest, But-Ven + Nidoqueen Surf = really easy win. Karen. Yeah, some problems. IIRC Butterfree was FNT so fast. But the rest of team saved the day. Lance. Lance, hello Lance. I wanna grab some Meister title. Oww yeah, that was the fire. Really hard battle, at the end there was only Dragonite Lvl 50 vs Arbok Lvl 53. Eternal King Of Poison Armageddon (xDD) proved that he's the best. Ober is new League Champion. Yeah. Pack ya **** folks, no time to waste - Kanto badges!

And things in Kanto are really boring. Nobody can't stand my attacks, every quests going so well. And also, I've a really annoying problem. Remmember old guy in Bill's house in Cerulean. Yeah, those guy. I must catch Oddish to get Leaf Stone to evolve Weepinbell into Victribell. But I cannot find Oddish, dammit. And I'm still lookin', and lookin', and lookin', and...I'm bored a little. I started a Yellow game, but it's a story for another post ;)

And a little summary:
Arbok Lvl. 53
Nidoqueen Lvl. 53
Venomoth Lvl. 53
Butterfree Lvl. 53
Weepinbell Lvl. 54
Who will be 6th? ;>

But I would really like to start new Crystal game. But I don't have any idea to make a team. :(

So long, with some language mistakes surely. As always - I always write too much.
Anyway, I hope that you have any fun while reading this ;)

Ober

Emlam June 15th, 2010 6:35 PM

I just started Silver recently, having had no experience with anything but Red and Yellow up to this.
I am sooooooo bad at it.

Limey-chan June 15th, 2010 6:47 PM

Restarted Blue a while back and i'm trying to complete my Pokédex for the first time ever. As i'm going through the game i'm catching any new available Pokémon and training them up.

So far i've just beaten Sabrina in Saffron City and i've got 89 Pokémon in my dex. The next Pokémon available to catch is Snorlax which thankfully I won't have to train up too far.

I'm also using Gold to help with training and collecting any of the Pokémon that aren't available in Blue version.

Emlam June 15th, 2010 7:24 PM

I've never completed the Pokedex. Partly because it's impossible (I have Red but can't trade it with anything), partly because that would require training things like Dratini and Magikarp 15-25 levels till they evolve, even if you didn't plan on using them in the game. D: I am far too lazy for this.

Limey-chan June 15th, 2010 7:34 PM

Haha, i'm usually the same, but I thought this time round i'd make the effort xD

It hasn't been easy, but having Gold to trade Pokémon to helps a little.

Emlam June 16th, 2010 7:28 AM

Is it possible to trade something you sent to Gold back to a first gen. game?

Limey-chan June 16th, 2010 8:27 AM

Yeah, so long as you haven't taught it any 2nd gen moves or its not holding any items.

habit12 June 16th, 2010 2:28 PM

yea i love the ol school game i was like 8 or so i could never beat the elite four

Emlam June 19th, 2010 6:51 AM

Well, stumbling on through Silver I discovered my big lump of a Quagsire that I've been keeping around 'cuz I feel lost without a Ground type actually has a use! Whupped Morty's ghosts using Mud Slap and holding a Quick Claw.

And my lv. 20 Togepi finally evolved!
Who knew Togetic was so ... yellow. XD

Mewtwo152 June 21st, 2010 6:46 PM

I'll chronicle my Johto journeys here, starting from now.
Up to Ice Path. Have yet to enter.
Defeated every trainer on the route. Collected berries and Apircorns. I'll level my team in the Path.
Back-tracked to Mt. Mortar, found useful items. Found Dig TM at National Park, used on Sudowoodo.

Emlam June 22nd, 2010 6:29 AM

Unexpected Suicune encounter, I was only leveling up my Furret so it ran off before I could blink.

Forgot Olivine existed, went back and did stuff there and in all the other places I subsequently realized I had to do stuff.
Managed to defeat the Fighting gym with a combination of Hypnosis, Nightmare and Peck just because I wanted to level up my weak (but shiny) Noctowl so it isn't such a waste of a Pokemon slot when I have to FLY.
Taught shiny Noctowl to FLY.
Need to get an Umbreon.

Emlam June 22nd, 2010 6:47 PM

Jynx are supposed to be rare, but I ran into three of the things in a row on the Ice Path. Same happened with Tauros by the MooMoo farm - 2 Tauros, Miltank, Raticate, Miltank. Guess they're not *that* rare.

Raising up my Heracross now since it's annoying not having anything that's good against Dark types.

Emlam June 23rd, 2010 4:41 AM

My Noctowl's got Reflect, Hypnosis and Nightmare as well! :D
Also Fly, because I need something that Flies, but once he gets big enough to learn a Special attack on his own I think I might unlearn Fly in favor of that. Fly just doesn't seem cool enough for a Noctowl. 8)
Skarmory can Fly me around until she too learns something more appropriate.

Remembered there's a bunch of stuff in caves I skipped over because I was too lazy to go back there with Strength, Rock Smash, Waterfall, etc. Will check those out now before heading back to Kanto.

Emlam June 24th, 2010 6:01 AM

My, I seem to remember the Elite Four having bigger Pokemon. :P
Even so, my newer 'mons were weak and needed training to make it through. Did one "test run" after saving the game - got beaten fairly quickly but learned which attacks everyone's Pokemon used and how many hits they could take (also what beats what - these new types are killin' me). Shut off, turned back on, then started training up.

Returned for real, beat 'em up with Umbreon (holding Blackglasses 'cuz they make her look cool ), Ampharos (holding Quick Claw in an attempt to compensate for his pathetic Speed stat - are you an Electric or a Rock, Amphy?), Typhlosion (holding Charcoal 'cuz he has been since Azalea), Skarmory (holding Sharp Beak - can Skarmory's beak *get* any sharper? - to improve her meh Attack stat), Heracross (holding Black Belt to give Reversal some oomph when she's at full HP), and the sole Gen. I Pokemon of the lot, Jynx (holding Nevermeltice because she can, even though her killer Sp. Attack and Dragonite's massive Ice weakness mean she hardly needed the boost).

On to Kanto. :D

JAK3 June 24th, 2010 3:37 PM

Well, I'm goin' crazy over Johto, and the old styled one too..
But, thing is, I wanna get my hands on a Cartridge, only way to do that, is to pick it up locally, using Kijiji, which is like eBay, but local. Also, I wanna pick up a Gameboy Color, I see a Green One! So while I surf Kijiji, I will also play on a ROM until further notice, I really need to do some yard work with my Dad.
YAY FOR POKEMON GENERATION STRAINS!!

bye. :)

Hey yo, I'm starting my new challenging - I'm going after every game and trying to destroy every single Pokédex. That means see AND catch all of them. So far, I have this:

SEEN - 18
SEEN BUT NOT CAUGHT - 5 [Squirtle, Sandshrew, Diglett, Geodude, Onix]
CAUGHT - 13

Just defeated Brock with 1 Pokémon. ;) Well anyway, here are my Pokémon that I have right now.

- LV15 Charmander
- LV14 Pidgey
- LV14 Nidoran [M]
- LV15 Nidoran [F]
- LV14 Butterfree
- LV14 Beedrill
- LV14 Pikachu
- LV14 Rattata
- LV14 Spearow

I'm doing the exact same thing, completing all reginal pokedexes and national dex, on all generations (not every game) without using any cheats or glitches (only to obtain mew).

On my pokemon red version i've seen 151 caught 148

I've been doing it for about a year and very nearly completed the Pokedex for Pokemon red version, just need dragonite, blastoise and vaporeon. I've clocked up 106 hours and have been going through yellow and blue and trading the pokemon to my red version to complete it, as soon as I've completed the pokedex, I get to start on generation II, Can't wait :D

I'm also very proud that I went through Pokemon red version without once using the master ball.

Emlam July 3rd, 2010 5:34 AM

Still strollin' through Silver, takin' my time, seein' the sights in good ol' Kanto.
Went through the E4 again just to level up an annoying baby Sandshrew with Exp. Share.

Team right now is Umbreon, Houndoom, Furret, Typhlosion, Sandshrew and Dragonair (six more levels till Dragonite!).
Heavy on the Dark and Fire types 'cuz they're awesome.

Limey-chan July 3rd, 2010 8:15 AM

I managed to complete my Pokédex on Blue. All 151 Pokémon caught and raised, so they're all between Lv 50 and 60.

I'll post up pics/a video sometime.

I'll have difficulty, it's on my actual Blue cartridge, not a rom.

Emlam July 6th, 2010 10:50 AM

After a bit of an oops (talked to Red without realizing he was Red, got myself in a battle way over my level - luckily I always save before talking to weird strangers in caves), I trained a bit and returned to Mt. Silver. As with the E4, much easier with the correct Pokemon and advance knowledge of what the lineup would be.

Stupid Pikachu actually gave me the most grief, between Charm and Full Restore. Took three Digs and a Slash from Sandslash to get rid of the little rat.
Used Ampharos against Blastoise even though Ampharos was only in the party as something to use Flash. Sure enough, Rain Dance/Surf KOed the Ampharos, but Lanturn swooped in to take full advantage of the rain with Thunder. Bye bye.
Venusaur reminded me why I never choose the Grass starter. Crit hit Flamethrower from Houndoom took it out before it could attack.
Espeon, Crunch Crunch. Yum. It at least had the good sense not to use Psychic on Houndoom, but Swift doesn't do much damage.
Snorlax was naturally the tough one. Took a Dragonite, X Accuracy, a couple of Full Restores to get rid of damage and Paralysis, and 2 DynamicPunches to KO.
Charizard. Meh. Lanturn set up with Confuse Ray and Rain Dance, took a Flamethrower and a Hyper Beam and kept on tickin', then went in for the kill while Char recharged.

The. End.

JAK3 July 11th, 2010 9:19 AM

WARNING!: This will be very TL;DR! SO BE AWARE!

YAY!! My Pokemon Gold version is working! I fixed it up and added a new battery, For anyone who has the saving problem, I would recommend to change the battery, unless you like playing ROMs.

Chapter 1:
Anyways, so I named myself Gold, then saved. After that, I went to Elm's lab, and picked Cyndaquil.
I went on an Adventure to Mr. Pokemon's house, but before I arrived at his house, I took a stop in Cherrygrove, and healed up from the training I did. So I arrived at Mr. Pokemon's house, Prof. Oak talked and yapped, so did Mr. Pokemon and then I left. So after I was leaving Cherrygrove, a Red haired Individual named "???" came and talked trash to my face, so I accepted his challenge, and beat him with 2HP. I arrived at Elm's Pokemon lab and told him about how I fought this ??? fellow.
I told the Authorities that his name was "Silver".

Continued from after Falkner:

So anyways, I beat Sprout Tower, and Falkner with my brand new Quilava, which evolved during Sprout Tower, oh and his name is Erupto. So I decided that my team was empty, all I had was a Sentret, a Pidgey, and an Egg in my PC Box. So I went into the grass on route 32(I think?) and caught a Wooper, named him Quagly. Fought the Water Trainers on that route, with my Quilava, then fought the other ones with my Wooper. Off to Union Cave!

Chapter 3:

Cleared through Union Cave rather Easily, with my Wooper, and then arrived Azalea Town.
Wiped out Slowpoke well with Wooper and Quilava, then beat Bugsy with Quilava.
Fought Silver, beat him rather easily, just that he had me at 10HP with one Pokemon left.
I wanted to get a Heracross, so I went to do the Ilex forest stuff, then got Headbutt, then started Headbutting trees for about 1HR, then I looked at Heracross' Generation II moveset, No more Heracross on my team. So I went through Ilex Forest, cleared through the next Route, arrived at Goldenrod City, got my bike, went to go catch a Sunkern, planning on evolving it into a Sunflora. So now I am in the Pokemon Center in Goldenrod City, waiting for Tuesday to come so I can go into the Bug Catching Contest to get my Sun Stone. Until then, Jake.

P.S: Sorry this is so Long, it's just because I was gone for awhile so I had alot of Updating, next Update will definetly not be this long. If you read this whole thing, you deserve a cookie. :)

Emlam July 11th, 2010 10:57 AM

Aw, but Heracross is so fun against Dark types! :P

I'm just wandering around leveling up new Pokes now. Working on a lv. 40 Pupitar while I wait for a Pikachu egg (I used all my TM's up early on so I'm having to breed a lot of attacks into my newer 'mons).

EDIT:
Forgot all about the Legendaries. Oops. Saw Suicune a long time ago so I hunted it down across Johto with Jynx up front. Mean Look, Lovely Kiss, Ice Punch, Ice Punch, Lovely Kiss. Ultra Ball. Great Ball.
Now I have a Suicune. I'm not going to wander the world for the other two though, so I suppose it's on to the birds.

Emlam July 16th, 2010 7:57 PM

Ho-oh took a while, stupid thing either takes too little damage from an attack or gets OHKOed, and Fire Blast kept killing my best Sleeper (Jynx) before I could get his HP down properly.
Lovely Kiss and a few Ice Punches, Dream Eaters, and Ultra Balls finally nabbed it.

Lv. 40 Lugia was more a matter of luck - first Ice Punch froze it and got it down to a few HP, but I ran out of Balls (forgot to restock after Ho-Oh). Tried again with Ice Punch/Lovely Kiss and caught it with one Great Ball.
Time to decide what moves to teach Lugia.

The Fourteenth Doctor July 26th, 2010 3:08 AM

Just started playing pokemon red properly for the first time in years, I bought Pokemon Red from ebay again last year after I lost the original, I played up until Cerulean City on it but stopped playing it, now that I have a Gameboy Advance SP (bought from ebay) I can play again, I initially started a new game but couldn't be bothered to try and catch a Pikachu so I just loaded the save from last year, I'm heading to Vermillion City on the save file and am going to catch a Diglett from Diglett's cave (or even a Dugtrio if one pops up lol), I think I'll train Watortle while i'm in there

Team;

Wartortle Lv21 [Water Gun, Bubble, Tail Whip, Tackle]
Pikachu Lv21 [Thundershock, Growl, Quick Attack, Thunder Wave]
Pidgeotto Lv21 [Gust, Sand Attack, Quick Attack, Whirlwind]

Update: just defeated Lt. Surge, it was a very easy battle with all 1HKOs from Diglett with Dig, Diglett also evolved after the battle which I wasn't expecting (I always thought it was Lv28)

Team:

Wartortle Lv24 [Bubblebeam, Bite] (other two moves are the same as above)
Pikachu Lv24 [Thunderbolt] (other moves same as above)
Pidgeotto Lv24 (moves are the same as above)
Dugtrio Lv26 [Dig, Growl, Scratch, Sand-Attack]

Meganium July 28th, 2010 5:01 PM

I'm on a new team now with Silver. I chose Chikorita as my starter and caught a Jigglypuff in Mountain Rd, and a Pidgey near Cherrygrove. Beat up a couple of trainers here and there, and trained both Chikorita and Pidgey at the Sprout Tower (where I got my first HM, FLASH!). Jigglypuff was useless so I had to store it (it can only sing, that's it. xD). I enter the Violet City Gym with Chikorita and Pidgey both at L11. The battle was a piece of cake! Recieved my awesome ZephyrBadge, went to the PC to get an egg from Professor Elm's assistant, and my journey to become the greatest pokemon trainer awaits.

Current Team:
Chikorita L13
Pidgey L12

The Sceptile King August 3rd, 2010 7:26 AM

a pretty decent team if i say so myself although underleveled

Surmonter August 10th, 2010 9:19 AM

I am in the Pokémon Center in front of Mt.Moon right now in my Pokémon Blue. I decided to play through it. :3

---Edit: I am now training my Mnogo (Jolteon, that name is Russian for "many" because Eevee has "many" evoltions) outside Celadon City. I owned Volkner with my Volna's (Wartortle, Russian for "wave") Dig attack. :3 Misty was easy too, with my Klyuv's (Fearow, Russian for "beak") Peck and Volna's Mega Punch.

Well, I'm continuing my Ultimate Trio Run that I just finished in Yellow in Crystal now. I rolled the die on Random.org to see which starter I would get.
Chikorita, yaay

EDIT: Hey, that's rather fitting. Now I get stuck with a Pokemon I don't like at the beginning of the first two legs of my adventure.

Surmonter August 12th, 2010 3:15 PM

I decided to play through Crystal, only this time I decided to edit Crystal. Basically what I did was use a tool to put random Pokemon at random levels (within a selected range) onto a route. I then did that for most routes (except sea routes.)

I plan to replace Snorlax with something. Not sure. I caught a shiny Ditto under Goldenrod (luckily, that was still in the same place) so I will try and breed shinnies. :3

I just beat Morty too.

The Crystal roms I downloaded didn't agree with my mapping program, so I switched my playthrough to Silver. Originally the playthrough was going to be on an actual cartridge, but my link cable broke. Again. There must be a problem with that gameboy...

Anyways, starting with a freak of nature Chikorita, to catch a hacked in Doduo once I get Poke Balls.
