Diamond or Pearl, Oh my!

Well I just purchased my first DS which brings me one step closer to continuing my adventure in the pokemon world after many years away. I can't decide which one version to buy, D or P? Which do you prefer trainers?

Forci Stikane April 13th, 2009 11:27 AM

Neither. At this point, Platinum would be your best option.

Gymnotide April 13th, 2009 11:29 AM

Get Platinum, but know that you'll need to jack a Misdreavus, Murkrow, Glameow, and Stunky from your buddies.

alexis515148 April 13th, 2009 11:30 AM

Is this a trick question? Because the answer is neither, GET PLATINUM!

Penumbra April 13th, 2009 11:56 AM

Uhm, am I missing something?
Did you forget to mention that platinum is sold out
where you are or something?

D/P has an inferiority complex compared to Plat.
Plat is D/P but cleaned and polished. There's nothing
D/P has that Plat doesn't (excluding some unnoticeable
pokemon you can scrape off the GTS or your pals)

Anyway, to answer your question of either Diamond or Pearl,
I'd say either of them. Whichever has the pokemon you prefer
in them... But if it was between D/P/Pt, you know which option
to go for.

I am going to purchase platinum but after I catch up in the Poke-world. I think I am going to purchase Diamond...Thank you everybody for your suggestions etc. I shall keep you updated on my final purchase

ZdSquirt April 13th, 2009 1:46 PM

Duh, get Platinum! It has everything diomand and pearl has plus more and its better and stuff

iwuzhere9 April 13th, 2009 1:52 PM

Definitely go with Platinum. If you insist on getting one of the other two, it depends on whether you want a Misdreavus or a Murkrow more. No one should care about Glameow and Stunky -_-''

Heather April 13th, 2009 1:57 PM

Hmm if I were and I had those two choices I would get Diamond. But once you catch up in the PokeWorld get Platinum!! I'm sorry but it's awesome.

lolwut April 14th, 2009 1:53 PM

get platinum, but man was i surprised when i went to walmart and a ton of other stores and they didnt have 1 platinum copy sold, and i asked the guy and he was like nope we never sold 1 copy and im like wtf, i went to eb walmart all these places and they had a full shelf and said they never sold much but eb said a lot of people ordered online and pre ordered so there was a lot left over

Huh nice i got a DS yesterday! (if your time is different, it was in monday. in my time its tuesday, but after one minutes it will turn to wednsday)

Platinum would be your choice here. i oredred a copy (wooohoohoo i found a store in israel!)

Tater Tot April 14th, 2009 2:32 PM

Neither. Get Platinum. It has several more quirks than Diamond or Pearl, most notable being that you can catch both Dialga and Palkia. Platinum would be your best decision, hands down.

Diamond and Pearl are virtually the same except for some differences in Pokemon you can catch. It's really up to you though.
