Good Water Pokemon?
I am in need of a good competitive Water Type Pokemon. My team goes as follows:
Magmortar Electivire Dragonite Leafeon Rampardos Does anyone have a good suggestion for a reliable Water Pokemon I should main? And if so, why? |
gyarados? lets see, it has 125 base attack, 100 special defense to survive a lot of electric attacks and it has a good movepool including Earthquake.

This goes in the competitive moveset forum.
Judging from the fact that three of your Pokemon are weak to Ground, one of the most common attacking types, you'd naturally want something resistant or immune to it. In addition, you already have a heavy weakness to Ice, so Ground, Dragon and Flying won't be such good choices (even if paired with Water). And... Well, basically anything downs Rampardos. I'm not really sure what to say but... I guess Milotic? |

In spite of all his Attack, I forgot about his poor D. I am kinda new to the entire "competetive battling". What are some of the most commonly used Poke's? |
Then beware of Swampert, 'cause they can wipe your team: Stone Edge on Gyara, Waterfall on Magmortar and Rampy, Avalanche on Dragonite and Leafer, and Earthquake on our buddy Electivire.
In fact, your team is weak to a lot of sweeping mechanisms like Weavile (Night Slash downs basically everything; Falcooooon Ice Pawnch and Brick Break on what's weak to it) or Heatran (Dragon Pulse / Flamethrower / Earth Power). These are Pokemon which you should look out for: http://www.smogon.com/dp/tiers/ou |

Well I am going to remodel my whole team. I am however sticking with Magmortar, Electivire and Dragonite. Which leaves 3. Based on those 3, what 3 Pokemon would help benefit me? |
Off the bat, you have two weaknesses to Ground and Rock. The obvious choice would be a Steel-type like [email protected] or Skarmory to patch up the weaknesses. Of course, both of those are heavily defense-oriented.
Then, since I have no idea about the builds of your already existing Pokemon, I can't help you with the other two. - - - - - Oh yeah. You'll want a formidable lead Pokemon or else you'll be left in the dust early on. None of your Pokemon so far are suitable leads to counter stuff like SpecsMence lead, Swampert, Hippowdon, Azelf, Bronzong Suicide Lead, Sleeper Lead, etc. |
