What was the last anime/manga that you finished/completed?

The point of this thread is simple, list what anime you have recently finished/completed, rate it (1-5 or 1-10), and give a review.

I'll go first :).

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle: Season Two (FUNimation Entertainment English Dub) - 7/10.

I was VERY disappointed with how it ended, I can't wait to see the OVAs & Specials when they are finally English Dubbed.

Zanny77 April 18th, 2009 6:14 PM

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu.

Bonta-kuns FTW. ;D

EDIT: Oops! Forgot to rate.

9/10.

Lots of good comedy, but some stuff was seriously messed up.

SparklingMistral April 18th, 2009 11:16 PM

The last anime I finished was Death Note, two months ago.

Kaseo April 19th, 2009 5:54 PM

Soul Eater and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 S2

RoseRed April 19th, 2009 6:02 PM

The last anime that i finished was probably Death Note.
I give it a 9/10, the story was really great but i didn't like a couple things that happened towards the end...:p

I've started like 6 other animes since then but i still have to finish them. XD

abarai April 19th, 2009 6:20 PM

Last anime i completed was Gantz a few days ago.
Its extremely disturbing & dark but awesome at the same time.

twocows April 19th, 2009 7:28 PM

February:
Macross Frontier
9/10
Great music and a good story, I've never been a fan of mecha series, but this one's an exception. I'd go back and watch the other Macross series, but there are too many (maybe sometime this summer).

March:
Toradora! (finished in April)
9/10
Wonderful series, entertaining all the way to the end. I was especially happy with the ending (I was hoping things would turn out much like they did).

Cardcaptor Sakura (replay)
10/10
I've watched this series about 4 or 5 times since November of last year when I first watched it subbed (saw the English dub when I was a kid). Don't watch it dubbed or you'll miss out on about half of what makes the series so great. Also make sure to watch the second movie after finishing the series, as it wraps up stuff that happens in the last episode. First movie is optional, as is most of the additional stuff outside the series.

April:
Hellsing
9/10
It'd get an extra point if they got rid of all the other characters and just had Alucard up in everyone's business. Maybe they could keep Integra as well, I'd have to see. Still, a very good series that got me excited enough to watch the OVA (I heard it's even better than the series; I'll start on it soon).

Spice and Wolf
10/10
Words wouldn't do this series justice; just go watch it, it's a good blend of comedy/adventure/slight romance. Be warned, though; there's nudity as early on as the OP.

silverfang_202 April 20th, 2009 2:37 AM

I think the last anime I watched was ouran high host club.
9/10...awesome, comedy anime.

Me too =3 I love it! as for me 9/10(nobody's perfect XD)
But that anime is awesome...especially honey-senpai!

Phanima April 20th, 2009 5:35 PM

This thread should include manga. Dx

The last anime I completed was either Pani Poni Dash or Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Can't remember which, I watched them both after the other over a month ago.

Penguin13 April 20th, 2009 9:40 PM

The last anime I finished was like, three years ago. It was Chobits. I can only handle so much bad scripting. (Which imo, all anime has horrible scripting). Before that, was the english dub of Outlaw Star. Best series ever. Well, when I was like, 12.

BadCompany April 21st, 2009 1:41 AM

Afro Samurai Season 1&2
Elfen Lied
Hellsing OVAs up to.... 4?

processr April 21st, 2009 1:45 AM

The last anime I completed was probably Ouran High School Host Club, watched upon recommendation from my better half. xD; I'm also up to date with two ongoing series - Pokémon and the rehash of Fullmetal Alchemist.

the bitter end. April 21st, 2009 6:57 AM

Death Note, finished it last Wednesday. I give it a 10/10 since I love the strategy/tactical element animes.

¡No Hablo Inglés! April 24th, 2009 9:02 AM

I finished watching Maria+Holic a few days ago and I have to say it was one of the funniest shows I've seen in quite a while. xD

On a totally different note I also finished the original season of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, which was quite disturbing in the greatest possible way, I'd have to say that Higurashi is the best anime I've ever watched.

Juyushi April 24th, 2009 11:24 AM

I just finished the second volume of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu and it has it's own special charm but I don't like it quite as much as the anime.

Beelzebub April 24th, 2009 10:15 PM

The last anime I finished was Lucky Star. I would give it 8/10 because it's so darn funny. :o

warudo.kun! April 24th, 2009 10:40 PM

I recently finished watching Soul eater. It was a great anime. I really loved it and enjoyed it greatly.

thedestinedblade April 25th, 2009 5:35 AM

I just watched Higurashi no Naku Kori ni in like one day. ;D Quite addicting.

txteclipse April 25th, 2009 8:47 AM

I just finished watching Serial Experiments Lain. It has one of the most mind-boggling plots ever, but it starts making sense in the last few episodes.

I guess...8/10.

Mitchman April 25th, 2009 9:49 AM

Dragon Ball
This was the shiznit. Seriously it was WAY more mature then the normal Anime version and well is kind of what I like and it had cursing. I like it when Goku says the S-Word instead of drat or darn he got away. Makes the whole anger theme come alive. I know sounds immature but hell mature is the way to go with some of these.
9/10

Toddler Naruto April 27th, 2009 10:05 AM

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete (English Dub) - 9/10.

This movie was awesome, thank god the english dub was leaked out early :).

XXXBurningStarIV April 28th, 2009 1:45 AM

Mmmm. About a week and a half ago I started watching Air TV and finished it in two days.
It was really sad. But kinda confusing. Oh how I love Potato.
'Piko piko piko piko piko pikori.'

I completed watching Trigun again about two weeks ago. Still good since I watched it on Adult Swim years ago.

Snivi May 3rd, 2009 4:27 AM

Kare Kano - I just love happy endings. <3

ShadowSkitty94 May 3rd, 2009 5:56 AM

The last Anime/Manga I've finished was Yumeria.

alisaie May 3rd, 2009 7:39 PM

Kamichama Karin Chu.

I love that series. So much. ;___; I needs more love.

Cherrim May 7th, 2009 7:42 AM

The latest I've completed was Sailor Moon R... I think. (I don't recall completing anything after that though I have been watching. XD)

I thought it was okay. Not as good as the first season and a lot of the episodes I sat there going "okay hurry it up and get to the good stuff" but overall it was pretty good. Glad I'm through with it though. Now I'll be heading into new territory since I kinda stopped watching the series when it got to this part. :3

I don't read enough manga to have finished anything recently though. XD

Evilyn May 7th, 2009 12:45 PM

The last I watched was Code Geass. The end forced me to watch the second season too. >_>;

7/10

Kotowari May 9th, 2009 9:17 AM

Last Anime AND Manga I finished was Rurouni Kenshin 2 weeks ago.
That monday, I finished the manga and finished the Samurai X: Reflection/Seishouhen OVA. I cried my heart out. ;-;
And oh, the Tsuiokuhen/Remembrance OVA is good on it's way to make me cry as well. XD
I love the music there. ;-;

Andcetera May 9th, 2009 4:14 PM

LOL
The only anime iv ever finished watching from start to finish is TTGL.
Mostly cuz it was out in the summer and ui had nothing better to do each week but watch it.
And all the manga i read are still on-going.

LuverofPokemon May 26th, 2009 6:52 PM

The last anime show I finished was Kannazuki no Miko.I give it a 1000/5!!!:)

Ozzy May 26th, 2009 7:24 PM

D. Gray Man

6/10 ONLY because of the ending.

The reason I said 6/10 was because near the end they raise up lots of questions in your mind, and leave you up there, in your mind you're saying "OMG I can't wait until I figure out who is the 14th Noah, OMG When will the Earl die? Will it ever stop?

They don't ever answer those questions, they might have kinda answered the 14th noah but many other questions are open ended.

But, the storyline is awesome 10/10 for that. :D

I REALLY recommend watching this series, But near the end, Prepare to not get your most struggling questions answered. But since its open ended, there might be another series, Or you can just make up your own.

Again, HIGHLY reccommended.

Alexithymia~ May 27th, 2009 8:18 AM

I just re-watched and re-completed the few episodes there are of Ouran High School Host club.
Now, I'm going to re-watch, re-read and re-complete Fruits Basket... Cutesy Anime, FTW.

Frequency May 27th, 2009 8:46 AM

Yeah, my friend got me into that Fruits Basket thing.

I'm starting up Air Gear again.

Sweet Jasmine May 30th, 2009 9:41 PM

Love that Anime :3.. Also Pokemon haha.

Just finished watching Code Geass R2. So, that's another Anime series I can add to my list as completed.

The last episode had me confused until the very end, where everything fell into place. 10/10. Great Anime series.

Frequency June 22nd, 2009 1:14 AM

Yeah, that was a great series.

I just finished FMA again. And again.

But I also finished Legend of the Twilight Bracelet. Gawd, it was pretty good for a kiddie version of .hack.

.Wolfie-kun. June 22nd, 2009 4:57 AM

Just starting on Code Geass R2 now, let's hope that this is just as good if not better!

It was probably Detective Conan. I was really a big fan of it. :DD. And it was awesome! really. XD;;

~Fairytales.

Amaruuk June 29th, 2009 11:38 AM

I recently watched all of Trigun and all of Zombie Loan in one sitting apiece.

Trigun was amazing. I'd only seen the first few episodes before, and it was quite a long time ago that I had, but I'm so glad I sat down and watched the whole thing. :3

As I mentioned in the "what anime have you watched last" thread, Zombie Loan pulled a D.Gray-man and stopped the anime in the middle, albeit after 13 episodes, not 106 or however many. Still nice to have seen it animated; it was quite enjoyable. :3

Ibuberu June 30th, 2009 12:01 AM

I've just watched finish Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It was an anime I liked, surprisingly, despite all the mecha-action. The characters were likeable (especially Simon, he was really cute, and the way he grew and changed throughout the series was quite well played out). There were insanely funny moments (most involving Kamina) and heartbreakingly touching moments (again, most involving Kamina). The animation was crisp most of the time (I <3ed Nia's hair) and the seiyuus did a moderate job imo. Oh, and the various catchphrases were quite awesome in their own right, 'Who the hell do you think I am?!' lol. It was an anime that was worth watching, imho. 8/10

Romeo X Juliet was another anime I picked up (after stopping halfway two years back) to finish up last week. I was glad I did so, because the ending was epic (though it might've been better) and really pulled at one's heart. One thing I didn't really like though, was how the animation staggered from good to mediocre so frequently in the whole run of the series. At some points, it wasn't really that well animated (especially in the middle episodes). BUT, I loved the interactions between Romeo and Juliet. It was very cute and heartwarming. Oh, and I was surprised that the ending wasn't the same as the original play. The bgm was beautiful too~ It isn't a must-watch, but hopeless romantics would probably <3 this anime. There were also some awesome fighting scenes too. 7/10

Cherrim June 30th, 2009 4:15 AM

Finished K-ON! the other day. Just need to pick myself up and watch the last half of Eden of the East and I'm pretty much finished with my spring anime. @[email protected]; I love Eden it's just... I'm also so lazy. XD

Anyway, K-ON was good. Not great, not bad, but good. Probably can't see myself watching it again though.

Phanima June 30th, 2009 5:32 AM

Like many others, I finished K-ON! and again like most people, I found the episode to be so-so. It wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either. I do think the high from the second last episode was well done and set the mood for the initial half of the last episode, which I can appreciate, but I was also hoping for a little more closure on the characters and their situations as members of the Light Music Club, but overall, it was a nice end. I was surprised to see that Sawa-sensei didn't make an appearance though, even if she was just a supporting character.

Other than that, watched the 29th episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D and am steadily becoming a fan of Carly with each episode, as well as catching up to the latest chapter of Chii's Sweet Home, one of the most adorable pet manga I have ever read.

Mr.Kirby June 30th, 2009 11:53 AM

I've started and finishes a few animes series in the past few days. >_> I'm a get it done all at once person. Also consider these are some of the shorter animes series, or less then 20 episodes. Anyway, I've finished Hellsing (but I still have the find the subbed OVA's), K-On and I just finished The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. These weren't the easiest series for me the finished because I wasn't too too into them, but the thought of not getting them done was killing me. Plus these seemed liked animes where it might just be a good idea to know about.

Ugh, but now I have to start up on the longer animes on my "must watch" list. >_< Bring on the watch until your eyes fall out sessions.

Soul Eater June 30th, 2009 10:43 PM

Um... I think it was Gundam 00. o_o I mean, not the second season but... just the first season alone. No wait! Scratch that... Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann I'll say, since Gundam 00, I haven't watched the second season. So yeah...

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann~

That was one sad anime though. ;; But at the same time, it had lots of humor and comic relief... especially Yoko and Kamina. <3333

Phanima July 8th, 2009 8:57 PM

Managed to finish Akane-chan Overdrive. It was a short gender-bender romp that was entertaining but extremely shallow. The extra chapters were okay but I think they just deterred away from the main story, which didn't actually conclude, or if it did, it was extremely unsatisfying. =3=

Also finished Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z which I started over a year ago, so I'm glad I finally got through the first season. Full of moe as usual so I'm looking forward to season two.

I recently completed...The Third: Aoi Hitomi no Shoujo (The Girl with the Blue Eye), it left me wanting more, that anime is so addicting. <333
I watched most of it on TV, but I watched the episodes I missed on the internet. xD

Nicolas July 17th, 2009 7:04 AM

xxxHolic (Clamp) season 1 and 2....
Just finished watching and almost finished reading the manga although it's still ongoing...
I always hated how Watanuki over-reacts

red fraction July 18th, 2009 5:28 AM

I finished death note a few days ago... ending ending was a bit cruel... 7.8/10
right now i'm watching black lagoon and its pretty awesome

Pellio July 18th, 2009 5:52 AM

Just finished Gankutsuou: The count of Monte Cristo. It was amazing. No filler, just well paced and I adored the art style, though it might not be to everyone's taste. I was also incredibly sad I cried lots! The ost is great too. For me this anime was 10/10 and its right up there in my top few!

Miz en Scène July 19th, 2009 5:54 AM

Uzumaki by Junji Ito. Thrilling, just thrilling.

Kotowari July 19th, 2009 6:21 AM

I finished Spirit of Sacred Sword (Seirei no Moribito) a week ago. Amazing series. o3o
Despite the 'unusual?' artstyle.. wait, what am I saying despite for? It is amazing. And so pretty. =O The backgrounds were amazingly detailed. It was a ride that ended a little too soon. But there were no unnecessairy filters, the music was very nice. o3o
The characters are wel rounded. Not the usual stereotypes....

And just an hour and a bit ago, I finished Sengoku Basara. :3 Quite whacky if you ask me (sometimes then).... The characters are great. Specially Masamune and Sanada. Can't wait for the second season.

Both have catchy opening songs... ( [Shine] by L'arc~en~ciel and [JAP] by Abingdon boys school respectively.)

Ragnarok Animation (it's anime) was awesome! I seen 4 first episodes and wanna moar!

Misheard Whisper July 23rd, 2009 12:24 AM

Ouran High School Host Club - 9/10. Very nice. It's very shoujo, which isn't what I'm usually into, but it's really great. I also recommend Japanese with English subs as opposed to the English dub.

Cid July 23rd, 2009 12:31 AM

K-ON! was the last anime I finished watching. The last episode (13th, an extra) was a bit of a let down, and the 12th episode could be considered to lack closure like in all endings. I suppose they did that for preparation to a new season, but it's highly unlikely, since the anime's timeline has a somewhat repetitive structure.

It's still a good anime because of the music (and comedy), and even though it's shoujo, I enjoyed watching it.

yivx July 23rd, 2009 7:39 AM

Anime: Eden of the East

Death Note best anime ever

oske July 25th, 2009 9:41 AM

Manga: Death Note, I got the entire set at Christmas time. Just got around to finishing it. (I have a bad habit of starting a series and not finishing.)

Anime: School Days, I watched the whole series last summer. I don't watch much anime anymore.

SparkuxDaichi July 25th, 2009 10:01 AM

Last anime I finished was K-ON! and that was a few days ago. The last manga I finished (also known as the ONLY manga I ever finished) is Monster Soul and that was quite some time ago.

I don't have the patience to read manga online and they don't have a good variety in my country's bookstores

MechaTrickster July 25th, 2009 10:05 AM

does dead leaves count even though its a movie? if it doesnt death note. And im on the remake of dbz dragon ball kai.

Mr.Kirby July 26th, 2009 9:24 PM

Toradora! was the last anime I finished, oh and Hetalia if that counts. Toradora! only took a few days, but now I'm on D. Gray Man. Over a hundred episodes I think. It may take a little longer then my usual 20 or so episode animes. >>; I think I'll enjoy it more then Toradora though, maybe it'll be less predicatable and whatnot. :U

.Busou Kihaku. July 27th, 2009 4:17 AM

Yu Yu Hakusho, hell of a show, cliche ending. 6 months ago.

Cherrim July 27th, 2009 8:02 AM

Whoo, finished Hetalia the other day. :] Of course, I think S2 starts in a week or so, so it doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment but oh well. XD;

Crystal-Heart July 27th, 2009 3:16 PM

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
All 27 episodes in one setting.
Its such a great series with the most epic and over the top final battle I've ever seen in Anime/Manga/Video Games.

Beelzebub July 27th, 2009 6:35 PM

I think...Axis Powers Hetalia, which doesn't matter much anyway because of the new season. 8(

Dragard July 27th, 2009 6:46 PM

I just finished The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, gonna watch the second season now :)

Narco v2 July 27th, 2009 7:35 PM

Last anime I finished watching was Gantz. Great anime. I'm working on reading the manga, which is loads longer than the anime, and still in production. (The ending of the anime was enver even in the manga =\)

Cloche July 28th, 2009 1:38 PM

Lets say, I'm satisfied with the ending. ^_^

ChäoS;HEAd - 5/10

It was pretty meh and failed as a "murder mystery" anime.

Finished reading Bokurano about few weeks ago? I'd give it a 9 ~ 9.5 / 10

it's a real epitome of a tragedy, and the stories of each characters are also very sad in a wide range of ways (not saying why though, since that's pretty much a spoiler by then). As expected a sad manga , it has a bittersweet (even a downer for some) ending, although considering Kitoh (the manga-ka), he probably considers it as a 'happy' ending.

Highly recommended for those who wants sadism and sadness, not recommended for the optimistic and/or can't even handle something like Code Geass' ending (was it even that sad????).

Next anime is Zan Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei + Bakemonogatari (SHAFT + Hiroshi Kamiya ftw?)

The last Anime I finished was Shakugan no Shana a couple days ago.

It was alright, the Anime had it's awesome moments and moments of weirdness (and it had a bit of those....) and some hint of funnyness..the dub was a pretty great dub and the story...i kinda felt the story kinda slipped up near the end, but it managed to stumble back together at the end.

Next i'm going to try finishing Higurashi Kai, and Fate/Stay Night (oh boy THAT will be fun :P )

I just finished watching Excel Saga, which was an interesting experience to say the least. I haven't seen an ending so twisted since NGE...

EDIT: Having just finished Puni Puni Poemy, I retract my statements about how twisted the ending of Excel Saga is.
