Woah, I didn't realize the group was already up. As promised, first to join. ;D
|
Now this is my kind of club.
I'm in. |
Definitely joining, Megaman is awesome. My favorite series was Battle Network, but I felt that Starforce was a bad follow up.
|
The creator of the group won't be on for awhile, so I'm letting you know she said all people who want to join are obviously accepted. ;D

Megaman is win.
Definately joining. |
~Member List Updated~
Welcome to all of our new members. As with the Final Fantasy Fan Club, I'll be making banners for various MegaMan series. I've already got main character banners for all of the characters in MegaMan Zero 2-4, and I'll be doing minor characters and bosses soon. Afterwards I'll either do MegaMan Classic, ZX, or EXE. For those who are curious, my favorite series out of MegaMan are MegaMan Zero & MegaMan ZX. Who is your favorite MegaMan character? For my main fav, its a toss up between Aile, Leviathan, Zero, and Splash Woman. MegaMan Classic Male - Bass Female - Splash Woman MegaMan X Male - Zero Female - Iris MegaMan Legends Male - Rock "MegaMan" Volnutt Female - Roll Casket MegaMan Zero Male - Zero Female - Leviathan MegaMan Battle Network Male - Bass Female - Medi (or Meddy) MegaMan ZX Male - Giro Female - Aile & Ashe -Tied- I haven't really played Starforce yet, so I don't have any favs for that. Edit: I've uploaded some MegaMan Zero banners. |
I've only really played the X series and some of the classic games, so I don't really know all the characters, but Zero is definitely my favorite. Woodman from MM2 has always been another personal favorite. Oh, and Vile from the X series too. ;D
|
Quote:
|
Okay, when I get to the Classic Series, I'll be sure to do a WoodMan Banner.
Welcome Kenshin5! ~Member List Updated~ I'm going to try to borrow my bro's StarForce soon. I know that I already like Harpnote though. |
Well. I only got into Rockman.EXE after finding out about the Junkman Storyline in BN 4 Blue Moon. XDDD
LOL. at my Username. XD |
Harpnote is kind of a push over. Her card is not that great either. Compared to Roll she is no good.
|
I call in. Magaman PWNS.(But I couldn't play through X7. That last boss fight finally got to me.)
I really like the X series. X6 and X being my Favs. Besides, he can do a Hadoken, and it's 1HKO! Really great for the last fight. |
Quote:
Guess what I downloaded recently? Both soundtracks for MegaMan 9, the original, 8-Bit OST and an Arranged Version of most of the songs. They're both really good. ~Member List Updated~ |
Nice. I got the MM9 Soundtrack too.
Just bought Megaman & Bass again for no reason. Just needed a Old-skool MM game for on the go. (Aside from tha MMZ series. I LOVE THEM.) |
I never had the chance to own any of the Zero Series, I had to Emu or borrow them.
I only own the MegaMan X Collection (GCN), MegaMan X8, MegaMan ZX, MegaMan ZX Advent, and MegaMan 9 (WiiWare). Although the last two are lost, since MM9 is on my lost Wii. I constantly borrow the Zero Series, MegaMan & Bass, and the MM Anniversary Collection (GCN) from my friend. |
Nice. ;D I downloaded most of the classic series OSTs. I still think the X series has the best music, though.
|
For MegaMan, I have these soundtracks.
ZX Tunes ZXA Tunes MM9 Original MM9 Arrange Wily's Mosh Pit -Stand Alone MP3- MMZ Stranger in the Sand -Stand Alone MP3- I like each of the games' music. Every game has great music. My fav is MM2's Wily Stage, especially the Wily's Mosh Pit Version. |
That song is fairly popular. The remixes of it are great. MM2 had great music in general. Most of the boss stages like Airman, Bubbleman, Flashman all have good music. As for favorite track, Zero's theme from X3 is probably my personal favorite. ;D I recently downloaded the MMZ OSTs as well. Ice Brain is my definite fav.
|
Yeah.
I decided to buy Megaman Legends again. Har Har. It was great to get for $13... |
By "again" do you mean that you sold it once before? lol
|
Hey, I just thought I should point out that I'm not on the member's list.
|
You are..its just that your name fused with RockmanEXE's somehow, I noticed that when I opened the page. Its fixed now.
Also, I will be uploading some MegaMan Classic Banners soon. I've finished banners for MegaMan 1-4 as well as 9. The Template is kinda large because I had it sized for 7, 8, and MM&B titles even though I have none of those banners done. I will likely make a Bass one before I even finish the NES classics. |
I would like to join, seeing as how it used to be one of my favorite series. ^_^
Who is your favorite MegaMan character? Megaman X - there's really nothing I can say, aside from having the armor suits or whatever and the more powerful X-buster (Something like that) Haven't played in awhile, but maybe I will... |
Who is your favorite MegaMan character?
My favorite character would have to be Bass.exe from the Battle Network Series. I wasn't so happy when Zero replaced Bass as Megaman's rival in the X series (even though Zero turned out to be pretty awesome). In the Battle Network series I feel he has a better back story than in the Classics and he's actually a challenge to Megaman this time around. |

I uploaded the aforementioned banners. ~Member List/Banners Updated~ Quote:

Ah yes, that's a good point. I need to brush up on my Megaman History. xD

Protoman is more of a rival to Megaman in Battle Network compared to Bass. Zero is more of a comrade to X then a Rival. I would say Sigma is X rival. Reason I see Protoman and Hub as rivals is cause Lan and Chaud are obvious rivals throughout the Battle Network series. Also yes Zero appeared in 1993 and Bass in 1995 only a two years difference.

If I remember correctly, Crystal said that all games are connected in someway aside from the Battle Network and Star Force series.
|
Here is the way the games are connected, stated in various Official Sources, especially the Rockman Perfect Memories book, made before ZX but after Zero.
-MegaMan Classic --- MegaMan X ----- MegaMan Zero ------- MegaMan ZX --------- MegaMan Legends MegaMan Classic leads into MegaMan X by the creation of MegaMan X by Dr. Light and Zero by Dr.Wily. It takes place about 100 years after Classic. MegaMan X leads into MegaMan Zero by the title character and references to the X Era. It takes place 100 years after Zero seals himself away after the Elf Wars, which takes place at an as of yet unseen time in the X Era. MegaMan Zero leads into MegaMan ZX by the mention of Ciel as the Commander and Zero as the Hero as well as being shown in certain scenes that mention the past as well as the Commander's Letter as well as the references in the BioMetals (X,Z,L,H,P,F, & W). It takes place about 200 years after the Zero series. MegaMan ZX leads into MegaMan Legends very vaguely, however, references can be found in Zero & ZX. Certain enemies sport the same red eye as the ReaverBots found in Legends, mostly the Pantheon and various bosses in both series. No Humans appear in Legends, all humanoid characters, except the Master, are actually Carbons, Reploids that have become so advanced that they are practically humans. The Human Race died out between ZX & Legends. Because of both mechanical enhancements being added to Humans and lifespans being added to Reploids in ZX, Reploids in ZX have Triangle markings on their foreheads, and seeing as a majority of major and minor characters sport these marks it is safe to assume that humans are beginning to dwindle in numbers. It takes place about 1,000 years after the as of yet unseen end of the ZX Series. MegaMan Battle Network and MegaMan StarForce, however, take place in an alternate reality, but those two games are related. - MegaMan Battle Network --- MegaMan StarForce Battle Network leads into StarForce by the mention of NetNavis. |

Awesome, a Megaman Club! May I join?

Thanks, bro
Who is your favorite MegaMan character? As for this question, I would have to say Tron Bonne followed by Airman. I really liked the Legends series. It's a shame that chances are they'll might never be a 3rd one. |

Don't count out Legends so quickly, it is the MegaMan series most wanted to have more games, other than Classic before 9 was released. Rockman Dash, MegaMan Legends' JP name, is very popular, with their characters appearing in quite a few things. Here are the total amount of times that a MegaMan series has had playable characters in a cameo game as well as the games they've appeared in. MegaMan Classic - 4 Spoiler:

Oh, and on a related note to this, I found out that Marvel vs Capcom 2 has been confirmed to be re-released in its Dreamcast form, which is the closest to the arcade original as well as what they use in Tournaments, onto the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network complete with Online Gameplay incorporated as well as all 50+ characters unlocked from the get-go. It also seems that it used elements that the Dreamcast couldn't load at their full quality that the Live Arcade & PSN re-releases will. Its release is set for this summer, so it won't be long before we get to brawl with MegaMan, Roll, Tron Bonne, & Servbot against or with other Capcom and Marvel characters. |

Same with BN6 you can play with other characters besides Hub. Pretty fun playing with other characters I have to say.
|
If one wants to experience the EXE series at it's best, I highly recommend MMBN 2 and 3 (either version will do, but I had Blue). In my opinion, that was the height of the series. After 3, you notice the games get A LOT easier (beat Gregar first try with full HP)

I found this on Protodude's Rockman Corner. Note that Rockman DASH is the Japanese name for MegaMan Legends.
"A recent survey conducted by Famitsu asked its readers to rank which franchise sequels they're craving to see most. Surprise, surprise, sequels to Rockman X and Rockman DASH made the cut -- DASH at number 7, X at number 13: 1. Sakura Taisen (aka Sakura Wars) 267 votes 2. Shenmue 249 votes 3. Okami 204 votes 4. Gotchaforce 189 votes 5. Xenogears 185 votes 6. Breath of Fire 180 votes 7. Rockman Dash 176 votes 8. Ogre Battle 174 votes 9. Chikyuu Boueigun (aka Earth Defence Force) 162 votes 10. Kowloon's Gate 151 votes 11. Shinobido 141 votes 12. Demon's Souls 123 votes 13. Rockman X 110 votes Whether Capcom is aware of these numbers is anybody's guess. In any case, I'm very happy to see DASH in the top ten, incredibly reassuring to know the Japanese demand is still there after all these years." Source: http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2009/05/japan-really-wants-x-and-dash-sequels.html Source's Source: http://kotaku.com/5238574/what-sequels-does-japan-want On a side note, I recently downloaded the ripped soundtrack for Tatsunoko vs Capcom. Its really good. Relating to this, TvC has 2 MegaMan related songs. The Flutter vs Gesellschaft - Theme of MegaMan Volnutt, Song Origin: MegaMan Legends Kaze yo Tsutaete (Winds, Let Him Know) (Ver. 2008) - Theme of Roll (Classic), Song Origin: MegaMan Battle & Chase, also used in Marvel vs Capcom I really love Roll's Theme song, its very nice and it actually has vocals! I put the most like translation for its name up there, it could also be translated as "Winds, let that person know" or "Winds, Teach him/her", since there is no specified gender. Listen to them both here: http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2008/12/tatsunoko-vs-capcom-soundtrack-samples.html Listen to all character themes here: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=B1D23855AFA3E63C Tatsunoko vs Capcom itself is actually very good reportedly, good enough that Capcom is attempting to get around licensing issues that exist to release it in the US. Although they say themselves that it will likely never see US release. If that turns out to be the case, I'm going to import it, because I love fighting games, albeit sucking at them, and it has a few of my fav characters in it, MegaMan Volnutt, Roll, & Morrigan, who has a new model for the first time. |
I wish they would release Tatsunoko vs Capcom in America.
Also, does anyone know what's up with the name changes from Japanese to English (Megaman, Protoman, and I think maybe Bass too, but I'm not sure on that one.) I really liked the music related names they had. |
Quote:
Sure, here's why. Rockman to MegaMan --Reason: Capcom USA thought the US audience wouldn't get the reason for his name and would think that he has a "Rock" power like ElecMan's electricity power. Most translations kept his real name as "Rock", although Powered Up changed it to "Mega", which is dumb. The MegaMan name was carried on in future series to maintain continuity. Blues to Protoman --Reason: Mostly the same as above, they thought that US gamers wouldn't get the musical reference and question why he isn't actually Blue. Dr. Right to Dr. Wright to Dr. Light --Reason: Mostly just mistranslations, eventually they settled on Light as his last name. His first name was always translated correctly as "Thomas". Forte to Bass --Reason: Capcom USA believed that Forte didn't sound cool enough for US gamers, they figured Bass would sound cooler. Gospel to Treble --Reason: Nintendo USA in the SNES era was very against religious references in games released on its system, which is why The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods subtitle was changed to A Link to the Past and all religious references removed. Gospel, a name taken from Christianity, was renamed Treble, to go along with his owner's US name of Bass. Ironic considering that they didn't think US gamers would get the references before. Vava to Vile (MegaMan X series) --Reason: Vava sounds to similar to Boba, as in Boba Fett, the character Vile's appearance is based on. They wanted to avoid a lawsuit from LucasArts and thus changed the name. Irregular to Maverick --Reason: I'm not positive, but I believe that Capcom USA probably believed that Maverick sounds better than Irregular. Vile to Weil (MegaMan Zero series) --Reason: The name Vile was already used for another character, see above, so they went with a name pronounced the same way, only with a W, although it would be pronounced the exact same if said in the German style, where W is pronounced the same as a V. To go along with a previous statement of mine, I recently downloaded the Marvel vs Capcom OST. |

Hmm, what a shame, I ever so do like the Japanese names a little bit more.
And I started playing Megaman 4, 5, and 6. Don't know why I skipped them...But anyhow, it feels like Megaman 4 is a lot harder then the first 3. Maybe it's just I'm not used to the level disign or the enemies. Also, wouldthe DS games be a wise investment? I hear Star Force is okay, but the second one ahs a horrible story. I haven't heard much about Megaman ZX though. |
I personally did not like Starforce. The story line is pretty weak to me the gameplay is okay but I just dont care much for it. ZX was fun to me although in Advent alot of the forms that Model A uses are useless and they have people doing the voices I thought they were pretty bad so I played the game with the volume off. You might want to try Starforce 3 it comes out in the U.S. June 30th.
|
I like some Japanese names more, like Rockman & Blues, but I prefer the name Bass to Forte. I can't help but use the names MegaMan and ProtoMan though, its what I grew up calling them.
I think the DS is a great investment for multiple reasons (MegaMan, Mario, Castlevania, etc). MegaMan ZX is one of my favorite series. For Advent, I agree the voices aren't very good, but they're still better than other games, like R.A.D and some 2008 game whose name I forget (I know that the voice cast was the company's CEO's friends and family) for PS2. I haven't had a chance to play StarForce yet. |
Quote:
& I like them, expect for when I gotten everthing....not much to do then at all.... I'd waste my money on something I won't mind going though the whole story again & again, like the Megaman X games, or Megaman Zero... (speaking of which, on Megaman Zero, once you do clear the story, it'll let you go though the story again with just about everything you gotten so far...I wonder if Megaman ZX is the same way..... if so, I'd get that...) |
If you were a fan of the Megaman Zero games, then you'll probably love Megaman ZX. However, I didn't think there was much improvement in Advent. Not that the game was bad, but it was exactly like ZX except with a slightly different storyline.
|
Quote:
until I saw the ending of Megaman Zero 4....... & I was considering getting ZX, but as I've mentioned, I don't like games that are only fun until you gotten everything & there's nothing to do afterwards... Is ZX kind of like Zero, that you can go though the story again with just about everything you gotten so far? |

EDIT: Holy crap, It just got announced that it's making it to America, frick year! |
Sorry about my absence...
anyways... Who would be your NetNavi? I not certain about mine.... I'm thinking about one of these: Zero.EXE (from the Gamecube Battle Network game) Ballade.EXE (he's battle-minded, which I feel would suit me...) Massimo.EXE (Steel Massimo from MegaMan X command mission as a NetNavi!) Sigma.EXE (I thought up a interesting story about this...) BattleMan.EXE (a made-up NetNavi.) GigaMan.EXE (a another made-up NetNavi, originally the literal MegaMan.) MagmaMan.EXE (I actually came up with this idea before MegaMan 9, due to my first & middle name.) |
I love Megaman!! Can I join this club?
oh and btw, I'm a bit fan of the newer series, not so much the old. I like the EXE/MMBN series and the Star Force series is pretty cool too :) |

Capcom worked around its licensing issues and Tatsunoko vs Capcom is being released in both North America & Europe for the Wii! |
I think that's been news for awhile. I hope the online doesn't suck. :/ If there is any.

then they are boring......nothing left to do...... *Yawn....* |

Unfortunetly, I don't think TvC will sell very well. Most people don't know what Tasunoko is. I'm still gonna buy it just so I know what's going one. The endings for the characters are cool, but I have no idea what's going on. |
Yeah, well...
Heh. I've took the liberty of starting up Mega Man 64 again. it's been awhile since I touched my 64, though. Initially, I had just started playing it with all my crap on it. Then I started a new one. But I'm still playing Command Mission, so I might just break in between both games. |
Quote:
It is the first time Morrigan got a new model for a fighting game, except Pocket Fighter, since every other fighting game she's been in used the same model from the original DarkStalkers, even if it was colored slightly brighter in MvC1&2. |
All I know is that Tasunoko are a group of Japanense super heroes...
|
Can I join? I love Battle Network and Star Force, but I can't say I've tried any of the others...
Can I discuss the topic, too? Who would be your NetNavi? Colonel.EXE definitely didn't fit Lan; for the short time they interacted, the two didn't mesh hardly at all. He's more my kind of Navi. Actually, that'd be a bad idea...I'd probably get a crush on his sister and then get heartbroken when I found out she wasn't "real". It'd be better to avoid interaction with him at all- I gave LarkMan consideration, but being operator-less in the Undernet doesn't work, so I'll say HeatMan.EXE. He bears a distant semblance to Heat Rotom, don't you think? He's also not ridiculously powerful like GateMan.EXE or WindMan.EXE. |
Quote:
*HUG!!!!* Yeah, I've just now realize that HeatMan.EXE does look like Rotom-H.... & I'm certain that Crystal-Walters will add you to the member list... Oh, yes, for those who don't know about the Battle Network series, I can help them determine who their NetNavi would be... |
Anyone know if a Megaman EXE 7 is actually coming out?
and how about the release day for Ryuseii no Rockman3 (rockman starforce 3 in english)? I've always been a megaman fan, loved the BN series, and starforce too. |
Welcome templekeeper

Yep, an Okami character is the final boss character, just as it was in the original game. It has three forms. I don't think that its playable though.

I wonder if there will be a playable Okami charater.... Maybe Nagi? |
Are they still gonna add characters? I thought the roster is pretty much set.

It looks likem SF3's release date is a month from today. I can't wait-
...does anyone even care? xD Star Force is by far one of the least-popular branches of MegaMan ever. |
I actually watched a bit of the anime, but haven't played the games. The designs just look pretty stupid to me. :\

No, I don't think they're adding anymore characters, they already added characters to the Wii version, I don't think the US version will see more, especially considering that they'd have to add Tatsunoko characters too to keep it even.
I haven't had a chance to really play Starforce yet. |
