Hidden Power

I do not know how many people know this, but if you want to see what Hidden Power type your Pokemon has instantly without using inaccurate calculators there is a guy in the Veilstone Game Corner Prize Exchange that will instantly tell you what Hidden Power type your Pokemon has. I do not know if this is in D/P but I am playing Platinum and I just found this.

P.S. Figures.. my Jolteon has HP Electric..

Artemis April 24th, 2009 2:06 PM

Actually, I too discovered this a few days ago and I thought that it was really cool:)!

Sorry to hear about your Jolteon having the Hidden Power that is its same type...

Zelda April 24th, 2009 2:09 PM

Yes I have heard about it and it looks pretty cool. :)

It is only in Pokemon Platinum though. xD

Blaziken_Boy April 24th, 2009 2:39 PM

Learned my Unown-N's hidden power was Fire type when battling Candice. Too bad he was only level 25 ;-;

Sweet Candace April 24th, 2009 2:43 PM

I don't believe there's a man in D/P, but I don't use Hidden Power. I know about the man in Platinum, I just have never talked with him.

Game Over1375 April 24th, 2009 2:47 PM

That dude is really cool, as I now know that my deadliest Pokemon just got a whole lot deadlier.

Oh really? Sounds pretty cool. At times like this, I really wish I had Platinum... :(

Futbollar April 24th, 2009 4:26 PM

My tegalgrowths was rock type. Kind of weird, I think

PlatinumDawnFtw April 24th, 2009 5:21 PM

.MurkyBurning. April 24th, 2009 5:30 PM

my swellow has dark HP amazingly....

Kudra April 24th, 2009 5:47 PM

That's really good to know. It will help me with an IV calculator I use, too.

§ April 24th, 2009 5:50 PM

I was testing out my friend's Platinum out, and his Mewtwo (Pal Parked) has HP Dark, his Ho-oh has HP Water and his Mew has HP Typeless. Wow, perfect. [/sar]

JP April 24th, 2009 7:22 PM

Thanks for that info, certainly useful!

By typeless, you mean the
"???" thing with curse? wow. That's neat.

Wichu April 25th, 2009 3:40 AM

Technically, it can't be typeless, due to how the move works. Maybe it's hacked, and the man is refusing to tell you its actual HP type?

Zanny77 April 27th, 2009 9:28 AM

Heh, on monotype challenge (fighting), I got a Meditite with HP Ground. It is SUCH a big help, although Meditite sucks. :\

Really? I need to see a picture of proof of this?

Oh hey Haza! How have things been with you while I was gone? =D

On Topic: I have heard of a Pokemon having a HP ???. What happens when you use it in battle though? Also, wouldn't it suck for your Pokemon to have HP Normal? What type of Pokemon cannot learn a Normal-type move?

jigglyppuff8 April 27th, 2009 2:34 PM

Those are lies. You can't get HP ??? or even HP Normal for that matter. If you were to use a ??? type move though, it would just deal normal damage since it has no weaknesses or resistances. Also, all Pokemon that have access to TM moves can learn Hidden Power and have access to normal type moves; Return and Frustration.

Im almost certain that you can get HP Normal.

jigglyppuff8 April 27th, 2009 3:32 PM

Even if you could, Return and Frustration would cause more damage most of the time, and HP Normal isn't super effective against anything so there's really no point to it.

that formula reminds me of a mixture of Math B and Intro to college algebra and i hated those 2 classes

But anyways I don't use HP for any Pokemon, not even the unowns because I don't use them

OokamiShipper May 2nd, 2009 11:15 AM

I don't have plat yet, so no, I never knew about it. xD
But it sounds cool, I hope I can use it when I do get Platinum. x3

Red Rain May 2nd, 2009 11:20 AM

It seems like a really cool feature, yet I don't do IV training, so it won't be much use to me.
